Great coffee and quick service.

What a coffee shop .,brilliant ,my coffee nice and hot ,cakes and things are on display with the price ,for one i love to see the price .staff are great too .if anyo ne in weston high street please give it a try .i love it

It was ok, and that’s the best I can say. Coffee was good but the breakfast left a little to be desired. The hash brown was cold, the beans cool, the bacon was dry (I guess reheated) and sausages a bit over cooked. All in all not a great experience. On a plus it was clean and tidy.

We turned up for breakfast / brunch on Saturday, group of 9. We turned up and the place was near enough empty. We asked the waiter if we could move two tables together and he said yes. We did this ourselves, went to sit down before a chef came out to tell us he wouldn’t be cooking for us without a reservation due to table size and others may come. We said we’d sit on separate tables as it’s the same principle but he refused as it was just him in the kitchen, apparently. It worked in our favour as we went over the road to Rhubarb cafe, a much smaller one hob kitchen and they happily catered for all 9 of us!

Food was terrible, they charged me an extra £1.50 to have scrambled eggs instead of frying them. At first I was told I couldn’t even ask for that? I’ve been to many cafes on Gloucester Road and this was a first. When the food did come it was underwhelming, would never go back.

Excellent service and good at a reasonable price.

Took an hour and our food didn't show up. Very short staffed, and uncleaned tables. But the woman was lovely at the bar. My friends and I walked out with a refund and hungry stomachs. We were really looking forward to our breakfast due to the other great reviews.

Good prices and fun interior but the furniture is a bit worn out and staff are not the most enthusiastic or kind. For a long time a lot of the food menu was not available.

I ordered avocado 🥑 on tost. The avo was blended up and spread on like butter! So thin you could hardly see it. This is no exaggeration. I asked the manager if this was normal, and he said it was. To which I said it was ridiculous. He shrugged and carried on as normal. I took my plate as I had already paid. Ate up a left with a sour tast. I will never return and can't recommend.

My dad and I have been coming here for a few years at least once a month. The manager is really nice and always comes for a chat. Foods fantastic. Can't rate the service highly enough

Lovely food friendly helpful staff.

Ordered cake and coffee however when it arrived the cake was stale. Returned to the person serving who said they were put out yesterday and was shocked as to why they would be stale. He offered me another cake which was similarly stale probably due to the fact they were pre sliced and put out a day ago! Not what you expect at all! The server rectified the situation so i have no issues here just concerned with the fact fresh products are being sold a day old… the cakes may have been ok a day old if not pre sliced but they were dry as a bone which was sad as they looked nice!

Had an amazing time over the last few weeks going to Grounded. Service excellent and the manger Nick is clearly brilliant at customer relations. Pizza 🍕 was fantastic so compliments to the chef .I’ll be in again very soon.

James made the best cappuccino I’ve ever had and is such a lovely guy give him a pay rise

Great venue and great pizza. Nick and staff are always kind and welcoming. Lots of outside table space to enjoy the Sunny days. Grounded always do the best breakfasts too.

Have to say we had an excellent time. The Pizza deal is amazing value and pizza delicious! Customer service top draw the manager Nick is top of his game and we shall be back next week!

I ordered a margarita pizza for £9 and it was awful. Tasted like a frozen pizza. My friend ordered a lasagna and couldn’t even eat it. It was like it had been sat there all day and was all hard. No staff even checked to make sure if our food was okay.

I popped in for a breakfast and wish I didn’t bother The bacon,beans,mushrooms were stone cold The coffee came after 15 minutes Oh I forgot the cooked tomato was raw This place has been going down hill for the last couple of years I won’t risk coming back

Absolutely appalling menu. It says pizza after 4. In at 4.10 on a Wednesday. They don’t do pizza on a week day (says this nowhere on the menu) Asked for the allergy info as my daughter has a milk allergy - apparently everything contained milk (not just trace/may contain) but as an actual ingredient. For a major company this is unacceptable. We sat for a drink as the kids were disappointed and when my coffee came it tasted so bitter - the milk had been over steamed. Won’t bother going again.

Love it socially andfor business meetings. Great staff. Right at home.

Tried booking before we got there but we were told by the staff we couldn't book. Turned up on the day for brunch and our table of 10 seemed to be an inconvenience rather than a nice bit of business.

Glos. Rd. Grounded is my local. Although convenient doesn’t always mean best, for the past year or so, I l’ve rarely felt the need to go anywhere else. The food is excellent and well-presented, the atmosphere is friendly, the staff are great. They don’t even mind me singing along to the excellent music usually playing in the background! I count myself lucky to have a place this good virtually on my doorstep.

The man taking orders who I assume is the manager was miserable and rude. The food I ordered was not what I received. I did inform a waitress about this and she kindly offered me a replacement brunch. Unfortunately, it was inedible. It’s not very clean either. I wouldn’t go back.

Been in and out of here for about a decade. Recently changed management which has made a huge difference to the atmosphere, feels less generic and more welcoming, almost like an independent, almost. Good deals throughout the week and I hope they can shake the poor rep built up in the last few years (whether they knew about it of not) e.g. indifferent staff, long waiting times, inconsistent opening hours. A "safe" café that does what it says on the tin. Overall would recommend.

Amazing, fresh and airy with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere

I need a banging soundtrack to my Brunch and this place delivered! Also, the food was fantastic. We had Tuscan beans, bacon bun and a stack of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Staff were lovely, it was busy but atmosphere was lovely, no one minded our 3 year old being a bit raucous (we left as soon as he started playing up tho!) My only small beef is the loo was a bit grubby, but it's hard to maintain a beautiful bog on a rainy Saturday in Fishponds...

They took a whole hour just to make 3 kids pancakes. The staff were horrible and they took long on purpose

Very disappointing, tables dirty, no cutlery and food order a total disaster. No apology when half the order arrived, waited another 30 minutes for chips to arrive which should have been part of the meal. May need to pop to Church Road for some training, certainly won't recommend or be back to Gloucester road again. Worse part couldn't put it down to cafe being busy.

I was disappointed with the food and the communication with the customer service. I had ordered a chicken burger that has bacon and I never eat pork so I told him can change for me and he said no straight with out letting me finish my conversation. I spent over 40£ but it been wasted. I would recommend to people to go there.👎

Been going for breakfasts every Friday all over the place since working on site. This is hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had in years, awesome!

The last twice i have been here wasn't great but returning tonight the Pizza i had was lovely & so was my sister in laws Pasta. The barman was nice & friendly too. I will return 🙂

Great tea and coffee but a bit pricey. Service was good and location good. Nice seating areas to the front or a quiet area to the rear.

ordered 3 cooked breakfasts; one vegan and two normal. one of the normal breakfasts came out with missing items (egg and tomato.. which are staple items of a full english) along with the vegan breakfast which was missing beans and that was half cold. it then took another 20 minutes for the third breakfast to be brought out also with items missing, by which time we had finished our meal by the time the last one was brought out. we had spend £45 on breakfast that just wasn't right in any way. no explanations given from staff as to the delay considering we ordered two of the exact same thing. I would be more understanding if they were busy but they were not. very bizarre experience and won't be returning.

Stopped off here for a quick lunch . We hadn’t been here for a while because now living in Weston , we were visiting family and on the way home. Really lovely menu, service, food, and good prices too. We will definitely return.

Restaurant and toilets are filthy. Toilet sanitary bin over flowing, toilet roll all over the floor, no soap. Clearly not been cleaned in several days. Not that you could tell as there were no toilet check sheets. Brown sauce bottles congealed with thick clumps on old sauce and no sell by dates. Cobwebs everywhere. Murky direct pint glasses. Told a 40 minute wait, waited 1 hour for a Sausage Roll and a Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Panini, received 2 sandwiches. not acceptable and not worth the cost, will not be back.

Ordered a vanilla latte, so much syrup was put in I can’t taste any coffee at all! Had to throw it away as it was like drinking pure sugar.

Arrived at 8.30, time stated on their website as open from. We were met by closed doors with ‘open 9-5’ sketched on the them. So we went to the Bristolian down the road where had a fantastic breakfast!

First and probably last time here. It's likely that whatever minor things displeased me are the doings of the corporate management of this chain. But ... The atmosphere was pleasant enough, families and the hubbub, but I didn't need the overloud speakers behind me over the most comfortable chairs in the place. The layout of tables is very formal and overcrowded, which causes claustrophobia. The coffee was ok but shouldn't have come with half of it slopped over into the saucer. I wouldn't come back because there are nicer places near by. Sorry

New review Large cappuccino. Not that large. Choc dusting excessive. All over handle, spoon, saucer. Coulnt touch it without being covered. Fish finger sandwich and chips. Tasty enough, but sandwich narrow, then cut in half to make even narrower and stacked high. Cant touch it without everything fallling out. Bottom of sandwich was stuck to a napkin which it was sat on, soaked with tartare? Too much balsamic on side salad. Chips fine. Atmosphere ok. Service pleasant. Previous review Disappointingly slow service. Not very busy. Food not very hot. Home made hash browns are no more - just frozen ones now. This place is going down hill?

Nice atmosphere and very busy but good and drinks took a very long time to come and then there were items missing off the plate. The food we did get was great as was the coffee.

Just having early dinner with my daughters. The guy running the place is really lovely and attentive, huge pizza for girls and nice salad for me!

Visited here recently with my friends for a breakfast. Three of us ordered the veggie breakfast and one ordered egg Benedict. The breakfasts were lovely and worth the price. The hot chocolate was also really nice. Would recommend visiting here!

Generally I enjoy my visits to Grounded but this visit was spoiled by the state of the gent’s toilets - They were terrible! Toilet hanging of the wall, no loo paper, no soap, hand dryer not working and the stink, like they hadn’t been cleaned for a month!! Poor show ☹️

Nice background music and delicious food. I ordered the avocado brunch with bacon. perfect poached eggs, runny yolk. very tasty food and nice service. I will definitely be back with my husband. I highly recommend.

We just had a lovely evening meal -homemade pizza dough and delicious pasta. Also lovely pasta for our toddler who ate loads. Nice clean highchair available. Good portion size, good value, lovely atmosphere and background music. The owner/head chef and doing well to set up a lovely independent style bar/cafe/restaurant in Bristol. Well worth a visit for a drink/meal.

Nice atmosphere during the day but have to wait ages to find someone to order from at the till, and probably the worst 'hot wings' I have ever had (tasted like oil, no other real flavour)

Good food and great coffee. Staff really good too especially the young chap who was taking orders and clearing tables. Looked like they could do with an extra staff member though as he looked constantly busy!

Sour eggs and sour staff. Served me a scrambled egg that was off. Their response without even tasting to confirm was “no it’s not, you can have a refund and leave or take it back.” - I really am not one to send back food (find it embarrassing). Obviously I had to send it back. Real shame - it’s usually ok food for the price. Won’t be coming back based on their service.

Came here with my friends, and had a blast.. the food and the drinks are really good, I had the surf and turf brunch and my friends had the dirty chicken burger, it was amazing! i also had a PBnJ donut old fashioned, that was recommended Nick. Ended up staying longer to play some beer pong. Overall had a great time with, and we will definitely come back

Had a fantastic time at Grounded last week. Just popped in on a whim, ordered the surf and turf and the peanut butter jelly sandwich off the specials menu! Wow, compliments to the chef! Did not expect such fantastic food. Great atmosphere and lovely staff as well, would definitely recommend.

The Shakshouka was good, but the bread wasn't proper Sourdough. Personally, I don't think it should be called Sourdough on a menu, if it looks and tastes like shop bought white bread. Also, the toilet roll dispenser was broken and the nearly empty roll was damp, like it had dropped on the floor.

Sad Sunday lunch. Waited for over an hour for food to find they had not printed our order. Then didn’t really care. So packed up and left. Took a while to get out the door even. Staff clueless.

Strange old place. We stopped in for tea and cake but they took a long time to bring the tea and forgot the cake! We drank our tea and asked for a refund for the cake, which they gave us and also gave us some take away cakes… which were unpleasant. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Everything seems to be rather slow but we will try again some day. The tea was ok.

Haven’t visited a grounded for a little while. They are all very similar in side. Ordered and paid at the bar. Food arrived fairly quickly. I had a panini which was quite tasty but they used the wrong type of bread for it, so it wasn’t all toasted and hot. My friend had the veggie breakfast which looked really good and she enjoyed. Overall food was nice enough, wish the panini was actually a panini but can’t complain as it was tasty and edible

Called in here yesterday for a cuppa whilst my wife was having health treatment next door. Great meeting Tom who used to be at our branch in Brislington. A nice roomy cafe with a two outdoor areas, the back 'garden' being safer for young children. The staff are friendly and efficient. Although parking nearby not so good. The food is great - hot and cold, salads, paninis, tortilla and a selection of cakes.

Good place to meet friends with a nice garden area. Comfy sofas inside and much more spacious than the St George branch.

Live in very rural Devon and sat outside this cafe and observing City life was very exciting. Was visiting for the first game of the season at Rovers and the coffee was Top Notch and service from Sadhu(Hope that is the correct spelling) was first class.

boiled sausages which are deep fried to order and the bacon is cooked 3 days before, awful food hygiene and no differentiation between bread, veg, cooked meat and raw meat. Also the same friers are used for meat and all vegetarian items. Don’t bother

Excelent service relaxed atmosphere 😎 plesant place to wind down .Dinning in is easy we had brunch, local sausage sandwich and skin on chips x2, a pint of chilled coke ,and latti coffee, alsocame with some side salad. Good value ,large sandwich , salad ,drinks £15 happy days.

Lovely food & my breakfast was lovely apart from that flat lager & even worse Thatchers which we returned. Clueless bar staff they did apologise & rectified with bottle lager...again a poor visit here.

I used to be really impressed with Grounded, having eaten a few times in Grounded restaurants close to me at home. I just felt that the heart has fallen out of it here. We ordered drinks to begin with….the coke was flat & there was no sparkling water. The food was ‘okay’. My fish finger sandwich was hot and quite flavoursome. The accompanying salad was limp and not very pleasant. The ladies loos really do need some attention. The lock on one door is merely a badly-fitting hook! There was no way that the door could be properly closed! After lunch, we walked further along the Gloucester Road and realised that there are lots more eateries. I’m afraid, we won’t be returning to Grounded.

Only go here as a treat and when I'm not too skint for their cooked breakfast (what would an uncooked breakfast be? Raw eggs? I guess it would be continental). Veggie version is delicious though I wish they could have been be a tad more generous with the baked beans...

I’ve always loved grounded and it’s been my number 1 spot. Unfortunately this has changed, for one reason only, they fry meat products with products that are included in the Veggie and Vegan breakfast options. I never knew this until I asked at the cafe. Therefor it’s *not suitable for vegetarians or Vegans* who don’t want their food covered it meat fats! When asked if the food could be cooked separate, I was told no and to order something else. I emailed the store and they reassured me they have two fryers on site and it’s all done separate, this is not the case!

Its ok. Staff were slow. Not impressed

A few not so nice customers there spoilt our visit for coffee. No obvious control if behaviour of customers by the staff. Won't go there again

Understandable coffee prices rising with inflation but paid £4.10 for a flat white with oat milk and vanilla. 65p for plant based milk and a syrup each is rather extortionate & not at all current to times. Most other places are 30-40p for these add ons. Even the speciality coffee shops in bristol don’t cost this muchz
