Kebab Express in Edinburgh, City of

Had really bad food from here in the past but when i was walking past I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a pizza. How can you get a simple cheese and tomato pizza so wrong? Pizza severely under cooked and really cheap ingredients. I really don’t know how this place is still opening. When the 2 brothers ran it, the place was amazing but since the new owner took over it’s gone really down hill. Avoid.

We will not come again to this restaurant, bcz you have old and expired chicken 🍗, last 2 time we eat and then vomit.... Food and service not good.... ❌❌❌❌❌

❌ The chicken smelled awful. Felt as if it had expired a month ago! I think he's selling out of date products. Try getting food from somewhere else!

Was charged for a delivery (1/1/24) that never arrived. A look on their Just Eat reviews shows that multiple people were charged for food that never arrived. Shocking.

After multiple times of trying to contact the restaurant by phone and email to discuss my experience I was left with no choice to just share this review and hopefully be reached out by management. After a night out my girl friend ordered on JustEat some food, when the driver arrived to my door, he aggressively said to me to check my phone next time I order food, I told him what was his issue, he then continued to be very aggressive and telling me he could not reach and find the address, I told him the address is very easily found on sat nav and google and we order a take away 2 times a week so perhaps the issue lays with him. He then started to shout at me and started to swear at me which I decided to close the door on him. This was the first time ever I experienced this kind of behaviour from the driver and it left me feel uneasy, therefore it leaves me with no choice to leave this poor review. The food was good, and everything arrived, its the driver that the restaurant employed made this experience horrible. I would still seek for management to reach out to me to discuss my experience as this should not happen to anyone, and the aggression I was approached with was rather unnecessary. Thanks

Would have been 5 starts if it wasn’t for the price, I got a chefs special Kebab and I can’t fault it, it was delicious but definitely not worth £14 I’d be happy to pay £7.50 for what I received at most. The salad it came with was swimming in oil but honestly it tasted lovely just wouldn’t have done it myself. Definitely would order again if they brought their prices down a little bit.

Ordered food they said was delivered and never was tryed to phone no answer when did get a answer was told to just get refund from just eat they are not dealing with it

I live so close but never went there before because I've read not very nice reviews. I was hungry and I just got French fries with garlic mayo sauce to "test" the place. The best french fries I had in a long time and the guy of the shop was so nice! Highly recommended. I will definetly try something else!

Shocking food! Pizza was dry and brick hard! I called up and asked when it was cooked that day as it certainly wasn’t fresh. Firstly I got someone answer the phone who couldn’t understand a word I was saying then he passed me onto someone else who was very rude and said nothing he can do as the boss is off on holiday. Disgusting food and service. Avoid at all costs! Cost us £30.90 and a very sore stomach ! Shame on you guys!

Had to put 1 star. The guy who owns the shop is so Unprofessional and has a serious chip on his shoulder. Will never use this place again give my family food Poison as the chicken wasn't cooked properly. Was so nasty to the kids Just a horrible place

I ordered a pizza burger and a wrap. The pizza came without cheese. The wrap falling apart and oozing with grease. The burger not too bad but asked for a plain burger to be given a cheese burger. Today me and the mrs have both been ill due to the quality of said food. Also ordered 2 cans of Coke which states 330ml to receive 2 cans of 150ml. This is false advertising. I have called and received no ends of abuse from the Owners and also told to basically accept what I’ve been given hence why I have resorted to leaving this. Keep your money or order from somewhere else! An Absolutely terrible takeaway!

First day in Edinburgh today! Passed by this shop by chance at night and we decided to try even though the shop looks small with 3 seats (we had 4 pax btw). Ordered one kebab, a burger, one pizza & some sides. Staff was proactive & patient. We asked him about the popular pizza in his shop and he proceeded to ask us the ingredients that we prefer to have in the pizza. It felt like we could customise our pizza flavour. He whipped up some lamb dish (2nd picture) for us to try too! Turns out we were being served by the Pakistani shop owner tonight! We are very happy with the experience and my dad said this meal is worth it!

Never ever again to this shop. Me and my pal ordered 3 full portion of chicken buna and before ordering we ask the guy to show the container and it was okay, we believed him and placed the order,. When we get home and start to serve the food, we were shocked and surprised to see the quantity. There was hardly small 4 pieces in it.We called to the shop and asked about it, he was like that's the decent quantity which you can find in whole Edinburgh. And he hang up. Never Ever again. This place is an absolute shambles. The guy taking orders had to run down Gorgie Road as he forgot part of the order for customers. I ordered spicy chicken bhunna.... Never again. Very small portion with hardly any sauce. Avoid this place

I ordered lamb donar kebab with monzerla cheese. The taste was good and fresh. Also, the size was big and stuffed with lamb. Above all of that, it was halal

If you are looking for something authentic and spicy, please do visit this joint. Amazing food and the person who served us(Arif) is superb. He gave complimentary food as well to us though we requested to pay, he insisted on his Pakistani hospitality. I loved there kebabs and pizzas but when I ordered by phone they could not understand edinburgh language. There for I did not get my order. No delivery. Because no edglish spoken terrible .

The guy is very creepy. Makes comments on girls and asks for their numbers. Gives unnecessary discounts to persuade ladies. Unmannered. Uncivilised. Ugly in his demeanour. Horrible first experience. Beware and do not give any personal details.

This was one of the best Doner meat places as they made their own kebab meat. Just got our order and knew straight away the meat was different. I Phoned up and asked to speak to owner as I knew him quite well. He said I am the owner and I said no you aren’t and he said I bought it over. I explained that the meat was terrible compared to usual and he said it’s the same meat I do everything the same. Even the sauces were different I told him. I then asked him if he made his own meat and he said no I buy it so I said you said it was the same meat and he apologised for lying. I won’t be back. Need to find the previous owners as hopefully they set up somewhere else !!

Food was nice, although salad for kebab was just a handful of lettuce, and the juice I ordered wasn’t there

Had first kebab from kebab express since it's been taken over by new management. Sorry but not good. Kebab meat has changed and not in a good way. Very disappointed. Now have to look for new local takeaway

Just had the most awful meal from this place, I think it’s been taken over by another company, it was so much better before, Will not be using it again, the previous owners were incredible.

Ordered chicken, mushroom and garlic pizza plus chicken pakora. Pizza arrived lukewarm, no garlic or tomatoes at all, very little mushrooms or chicken and cheese overload. Batter on chicken pakora thick and rubbery, chicken was ok. Has this takeaway changed Cook/hands? As this place is normally excellent. Extremely disappointed.

3 hours and no food. 3 phone calls and each time told it was 2 mins away. Managers away on holiday so no refunds will be issued as per phone call. What a joke, used to be a great kebab that I looked forward to. Total disappointment.

Was excited all day for a baked potato with cheese and beans and a bottle of come for when I finished work, when it arrived the delivery driver handed over the bag with a bottle of sprite... when I asked about the coke he said "oh maybe next time" Opened up the bag, and the baked potato had no beans and only cheese. I called the restaurant to be told they didn't have beans, didn't have coke and couldn't reach me on my number to let me know. For starters, who can't grab a tin of beans from the shop? The service from not only the delivery man but the boss was unacceptable, and for the record the cheese baked potato wasn't nice either (far too salty) what a waste of my money. I will never order from them again and I've already shared my story on all my social media platforms.

The food was lovely and the expected wait time was an hour and a half but it came within 45 minutes which was a bonus.

Decided on this place with the great reviews it seemed to have, but was really disappointed with the mixed chicken & lamb shish wrap. Food was cold time it arrived, well over an hour after delivery placed. I know I’m not round the corner but only 1.8miles away so food shouldn’t be cold on arrival if the delivery was storing food correctly. Garlic Mayo sauce was bland & tasteless & lamb was pretty tough, though me having to put the food in the oven for a bit due to being cold on delivery wouldn’t have helped! Think il stick with my local place from now on!

I’d love to give it more stars (cause I’m a person who prefers to appreciate the good things) but…unfortunately : -haven’t been given fork for takeaway so when ended up near Haymarket to sit down and opened the bag it came as huge surprise (especially with £8 price 🤷‍♂️ seriously?) - lamb meat is harder it’s a fact but it was undercooked even though I occasionally eat raw or rare steak I also wish my food to be well done when it’s supposed to , - the pasta-like thing under the meat was over cooked outside, I’m giving it one star for evening service and for package that held the warmth for 30min give or take .

Great food as always. I was sent the wrong pizza in error (it happens), called the restaurant up to explain and they were quick to resolve with sending the correct pizza within 20 minutes!

For quality of ingredients there is no better and the only place I go to when needing a takeaway. Remember though cash is king... No card.

Food piping hot and generous portions. There was enough chicken in the large kebab for two and it was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend

The majority of the time it was alright, good solid pizza and onion rings. Went in their once sober and they messed up my order (including meat when I asked for a veggie and forgot onion rings) and they refused to admit they had made a mistake. Only ended up there when the Gorgie Fish Bar had closed.

Some of the food was ok. The salad was wet and mushy and had salad dressing on!??? All sauces should be separate.. Yuk! Chicken was over cooked and dry and the curry and chips had no salt on them and hardly any curry sauce. Most of it went in the bin. Won't be back. Money wasted
