Sushi is always fresh and delicious, gyozas were outstanding one criticism is the katsu curry and noodke dishes shoud coe with fried bits seperate as it males them soggy upon arrival.

Sadly disappointing food wise. Had high hopes given reviews. That was not like any chicken Teriyaki I have ever tasked and not in a good way. It was sickly sweet (like some kind of syrup) no savoury element at all. Chicken poor quality like mutton.

Not upto expectation as I found they could have improved on the food . Again as I have said not all places with a pricey tag serve good food . So the price was basically for the ambience .

I wasn’t expecting to have spicy food as it isn’t mentioned on the menu, unfortunately I don’t like spicy food and could only eat half of what I have ordered

We love Kazoku the staff is friendly and and happy good energy and the food is very good made with love and quality if you love sushi kazoku is your place. Still an excellent place loved.

We've been visiting Kazoku for over a year; last night was our 6th visit. The quality of the food has got better, but as the evening progressed some of the rolled pieces, (I cannot recall their names!), disintegrated when taken from the board & some were not cut through. This is indicative of rushed, below-par preparation, which is perhaps unsurprising; allow me to explain. In order to get the best, quickest service we have learned to book a table at 18:00; the restaurant becomes busy from around 18:30 & service goes significantly downhill at that point. We always go for the boards, & generally go through about 3 in total. The first board, (pieces are often chilled, leading one to the conclusion it's prepared in advance), arrives within 10 minutes of order. We then fill out the form for board #2, leave it on the side of the table, where is is then ignored by the passing waiting staff until it is waved in the air like Neville Chamberlain declaring peace in our time. It then takes another 20 minutes for the second board to arrive. & the process repeats with the waiting staff again ignoring the form. This is why we always allow 2 to 3 hours to eat here; last night we arrived at 17:50 & left at 20:30. Nothing against the food itself, although the "kitchen" appears to be unable to cope with volume perhaps leading to the issues noted above, but the service is diabolical; our last board was brought over by a chef as no staff were available to service a by then half-full restaurant. Other people were walking up to the preparation area & the bar because the staff weren't taking orders. Despite this, we'll continue to eat there, & advise any newcomers to book early to avoid the service bottleneck.

Just great food and great service. Went there for Lunch. Was not disappointed.

We had the all-you-can-eat buffet at Kazoku in Folkestone, and it was absolutely fantastic! The variety of dishes was impressive, with something to suit everyone’s tastes. The sushi was fresh and beautifully made, with generous portions and a great selection to choose from. The food was served promptly despite the restaurant being busy. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. For the quality and variety of food offered, the buffet is amazing value for money. We left feeling completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!

The delivery driver did not follow my delivery instructions and hung around outside banging on windows. He had also obviously shaken up the food containers so the sushi has all been broken. I like the food but let down by delivery.

We only managed one platter as the portion was already quite big and filling, everything tasted great and you can definitely tell it's high quality. The presentation was beautiful! Food: prep and freshness of fish - all average, nothing to complain about. Service same - efficient but I felt I was just another bill payer. No comparison to JBs round the corner which is still the best Sushi restaurant outside of London. I wanted to try Kazuko as was recommended. Now I have, I can say with conviction, JBs wins hands down!

We went for dinner and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes. The sashimi, sushi, hot rolls etc were all really good. They didn't have any tuna which was unfortunate for a Japanese restaurant but we survived OK. WIll definitely be back.

Food was disappointing this time around. Found a small plastic container lid floating about in the miso soup which was disappointing. Obviously didn’t eat it. The chicken wasn’t the usual slices of grilled chicken, but breaded chicken, which became soggy and ruined the texture of the ramen. All in all, not up to the same standard it has been in the past.

I'm a massive fan of sushi so I was delighted when Kazoku came to town. The sushi is so so fresh and delicious! The misses isn't a fan on sushi so she gets the Korean Fried Chicken Meal and she loves it. 100% will be ordering again! 10/10

Absolutely awful I used to order takeaway from them often, always the same dish. In the last 3 months the quality has been getting worse and worse. Today I ordered a sushi plate for 26 pounds. The cook did not bother to cut off the ends of the rolls, the rolls were falling apart and looked like the cook just collected the remains from other people's plates and put them in a plastic box. As if that was not enough, they put 2 sachets of soy sauce for a 32-piece sushi plate with 8 ml each!

This is the best sushi I’ve ever had in the UK—highly recommend this restaurant! It’s my second visit, and even though I have to drive over an hour to get here, it’s absolutely worth it!

The service was very quick and friendly. Good choices available on menu with a good spice level. Comfortable seating and relaxing atmosphere. Food also reasonably priced considering how high quality the food is.

Wonderful Japanese restaurant at the top of the high street in Folkestone that serves great Japanese food at an affordable price. We had a platter to share between 6 people and a couple of starters, food was great and fresh. Service were friendly and recommend to others - would say it's the best Japanese locally.

I've been here multiple times and the food is incredible, they have amazing service and the atmosphere is lovely! I always get the vegetable yakisoba noodles as my main dish, and the chicken and vegetable gyozas as my starter, and it never disappoints! Their ice coffee is also delicious ♡

This was my 2nd time visit to Kazoku. My 1st experience; ambience, hospitality, price, food was luscious. I mostly enjoyed Katsu curry chicken rice. I ordered the same on my 2nd visit but it was not as good as my 1st time. The portion size was minimised, chicken was not amazingly good. The sushi plater was good as expected. The total bill was £83 for a 40 pieces sushi plater, shrimp tempura, one pork ramen, katsu curry chicken rice and some drinks which I think was reasonable. Overall my experience was good. Next time I want to try their fried noodles 🤤

The quality of the sushi was very poor, and it wasn’t fresh—it was dry and stale. I paid nearly £50 for it! I ended up having to order a pizza afterward.

Been here multiple times and always lose against the bottomless sushi, will be back for the 5th time soon! Will try to beat my record of 3. Jokes aside hot food is really getting there in taste and consistency whereas the sushi is always great. They give a generous amount of sauce with the sushi, which many love but personally ask for less sauce so I can taste more of the fresh fish. Service is great but sometimes I will flag waiters down/raise my sheet if Im not noticed for a while. Always happy will come again :) Edit : Went recently and they now seem to have the experience, a lot more smooth and streamlined. Food arrived faster and service has improved.

Visited on Wednesday for the Bottomless Sushi lunch. We arrived a little before mid day and were kindly let in early. Our sushi came out fresh, delicious and in a timely manner! Very attentive service and really tasty food. Excellent value and would definitely visit again!

This place is amazing. Everything comes out freshly cooked and the staff are lovely and polite. My only complaint is I wish they would do more sushi with prawn and meat as a lot of it is salmon, tuna and vegetables with only one type of sushi with prawns on the all you can eat

Gyoza was just about warm and sushi was warm (room temperature been out for a while warm).

Menu isn’t that exciting, we ordered a plater and pretty much everything’s made with salmon, salmon with mango, salmon with avocado… it’s a bit funny 😂 Average service, not very tentative and timely, not sure if staff understood everything (but that’s okay, hope for improvements) Good luck guys! Off street parking right next to the sight. We came on a Sunday evening and able to find space around 7pm.

The evening bottomless sushi is still great value, now at £27.95 We decided to let the chef choose a selection of dishes for us but specified to the waitress for no vegetarian only sushi and for plenty of sashimi. The resulting platter was exceptional. (See photo). Great food, great value and good service (the restaurant was busy after sudden rain) We'd go to Kazouku once or twice a month if we lived locally, it's a firm favourite. (July 23) This sushi restaurant is amazing! What a great recent addition to both Folkestone and to Kent. There is a 'bottomless' sushi menu which offers outstanding value. Currently £20 at lunchtime and £25 in the evening. You order your sushi using a tick-sheet which offers a highly varied selection of traditional and modern Japanese dishes. It includes sashimi, which is rare on such unlimited menus. For the very hungry diners, the tick-sheet is returned for a subsequent order. Other diners have criticised the service, but it was quite acceptable on the lunchtime we visited. The food is absolutely delicious, and that's from a regular sushi diner. Food is extremely well presented (see photos of the same platter from 2 views). We will most definitely return in the near future.

Great food. Not bad value. The service is very lacking. You can sit waiting for a drink refill for 20 mins. Once they give your food, they leave you alone completely, which some might consider a good thing, but you can also go too far the other way and have to wait ages to try and catch the eye of a waiter. We had to leave our seat twice to remind them to bring water, and later to be able to order more drinks. We've been there twice now, and will be going again soon with my Son, I hope the service improves.

Some of the most delicious South East Asian food my partner and I have had, we were on cloud 9. Reasonable pricing especially for the quality of food and service. I had the chicken sushi (definitely recommend) with the chicken karaage in sauce (must try) and my partner had one of the salmon rolls which was also super tasty.

As a Folkestone resident, I was thrilled to find this place. The decor and location are fantastic. Near the town centre and right on the beach / the Leas promenade. The Staff are welcoming and attentive. Now for the food.....phenomenal. Beautifully presented and tasty sushi. They can accommodate preferences and allergies. Cannot wait to go again. This is fantastic value for money, too.

A good large sushi restaurant but not the best I've had. It's restaurant over canteen style sushi they have beers and cocktails too so good if you want dinner out. They have an all you can eat offer and sushi platters as well as individual items and noodle dishes too.

We love this place. Its a real treat when we eat here. Food is all prepared fresh for your request. We have never found fault with the quality of the food, always outstanding flavour and variety. We generally go for the bottomless lunch, the prices have gone up since we started going. This previous visit we found the amount was less, and on a plate not a normal wooden l board. This is what then made us realise the amount had also changed. We then found that not only us, but the whole restaurant we having to ask the staff for the order sheets back for the tables. This used to be dropped back at the table shortly after the order had been put on the table. After watching this happen a good few times, we believe this is to stop people ordering so quick, Lunch is a short time period so the less you order the less they have to prepare and then can close on time. We ordered 2 alcoholic drinks, when the young lady bought them back to the table, she didn't ask who's was who's and placed them on the table in the wrong place, not a huge issue, but also left out the fact of a glass for the beer that was ordered, no question asked if we wanted one either. That being said, we always get a smile when we arrive and when we leave.

Why was there kimchi in the ramen? That should be explained in the menu!

The food here was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. We were seated promptly and the atmosphere was bubbly, open, and the service members were friendly. After being sat, we got our drinks and ordered 4 items from the menu. The first three items arrived staggered from each other which is not unusual with a sushi restaurant. However, the third item came a good ten minutes after the first two and we waited a good forty minutes in total for the fourth item. The server did not read back the order and continued to repeatedly ignore our dirty dishes and empty glasses to help other customers. Not only that, but it seemed as though he was avoiding our gaze at every turn. When finally asked about the final item which was still missing, it was obvious on his face that he had forgot. This was frustrating as all of the cooks and service members sat and watched us sit unattended as well. The final dish took 2 minutes to come out, but after this experience we no longer wanted to order any more food. Because we are on vacation we likely would have spent double if not triple what we ended up paying, if we didn't think we would be stuck in there for another hour just trying to get the food. Overall, I really hope they can teach their servers to attend to their tables and trouble-shoot/be confrontational when it applies to their job so that this doesn't happen again. It is a shame because the food was delicious and the chef clearly takes pride in what they put out. Thank you.

I couldn’t ever believe that I liked sushi. They make it perfect in taste! The look of their plates/platters is absolutely stunning! Piece of art and you can tell they take pride in their work. We are from Canterbury and go there regularly or as often as we can , because it’s totally worth it. Not expensive at all! I can’t believe we can get such a great food around Kent! It’s a blessing.

Way too much Sriracha on the spicy tuna, it overpowered the rest of the roll. Everything was nice though

I would definitely return. We did order more than we could eat, it is more filling than you imagine so go slow, we took our leftovers home. Superb experience!!

Kazoku Sushi was a culinary misadventure. The ambiance was comfortable, service acceptable, but the sushi? A letdown of epic proportions. The rice was 'disaster zone soggy.' As for the fish, only the salmon managed to be edible. The tuna, sadly, tasted suspiciously akin to something dredged up from the discount section of a suburban supermarket, and was far below sushi quality. They offer an all-you-can-eat menu dominated by salmon, which might appear to offer value—until you realize there's a McDonald's next door.

They have increased the prices now beyond what I think is reasonable for the All You Can Eat menu - £28 for dinner £24 for lunch. Maybe if there was bottomless soda included you could justify the spend, but now I can see most people spending £35-£40 pp quite easily with service charge. The food is good quality, the staff are great. Probably won’t be going back though. 3/5 for value now, used to be 5/5.

Popped into Kazoku on a Friday afternoon. Staff were fantastic, especially as they said they were about to close but would stay open for us. We ordered Chicken Gyoza, Pork Ramen, Chicken Katsu curry and some Sushi. Lovely fresh food, the Gyoza and Sushi were incredible. Would highly recommend and couldn't fault the service.

We were a part of ten pre booked but when we arrived the staff looked startled Service really was pretty poor took ages to get so much as a bottle of wine or even a jug of water Food was fine ,menu possibly complicated for a large group At 9.30 we were asked for lost orders and I think they literally meant for anything No anymore drinks ,dessert or coffee
