Really helpful and lovely staff, they did everything they could to ensure we were able to enjoy our evening.

Good place to come on a Friday night. Buy 1 burger get one free. Service from Wade was stand out experience of the night.

The food here is really nice and they do such large portions, I had to take the rest of mine home with me as i wasn't going to let it go to waste, we went around early afternoon and it was quiet which was nice, when I asked for a to go box and I was given tin foil as they didn't have anymore boxes which was helpful and appreciated will be coming here again. We all had different items from the menu which all came out together from a crown of burgers to steak and chicken subs with onion rings and chips would recommend as a place to have some lunch

Tony was amazing! My son has special needs and does Makaton. To go into an establishment and a worker does Makaton and able to communicate with my son just made my day!!! Lovely wine and food too! Food is what you'd expect for a pub chain, cheap and cheerful. Staff are great and always look after you. Meal for 4 under 60 quid can't argue with it.

“Excellent food and out of this world service!” My partner and I come here 5 times a week to have either Breakfast, 4 days, and once a week we enjoy another meal, mostly a burger. Of all the times we have been here, and they are many, we never had a bad meal, the staff is excellent, we know most of them by name, and we do not hesitate to call them by their name. I have been a waitress myself in a Belgian branch of Center Parcs in Belgium for many, many years, I know how it feels to be treated as a person, not as someone who works there, a anonymous person serving tables... The food is excellent, fresh and made the way it should be, hot and yummy. If there's something you like to change, like in the breakfast menu, it is done for you with a smile, and that is how it should be and that is why we keep returning. For management, keep doing what you are doing and take good care of your staff, they are Diamonds, real Diamonds, they make it worth coming back for, and your lovely food of course.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat on Saturday evening. Team Blackbull were great - very friendly and attentive.

Food is nice, pub in itself is also nice with good choice of drinks but the loud music really spoils the atmosphere. People have to shout over each other to talk, it's not really the right type and volume for a relaxing drink in the evening. It's drum and bass and heavy metal music. Update: Still happening. It was fine when we came in earlier today, but about an hour ago the music really started blaring. It's impossible to talk to anyone without shouting at each other.

Great value food and drinks. Restaurant has a few tables spread over a number of areas. Can get very busy and worthwhile booking a table. A nice outdoor seating area, perfect for sunny days. Decent amount of parking out the front and back.

Food was ok gammon a little undercooked my sons spag boll was not spag boll pasta shells with some mince thrown on top needless to say he didnt eat it even at 4yr old he knew it was not spag boll. everything else was ok

Great night with my friends and had great entertainment and service from Wade. He kept us laughing and was very attentive! Not the first time he's kept me and my friends laughing throughout a night in hungry horse lol.

A stable all round OK pub. Good selection of drinks, meal deals. Can get a bit rowdy at times but reasonably cheap place to visit.

Katsu chicken banquet has changed. The chicken strips have been replaced with chicken nuggets which is just cheap. The sauce was tiny and dried but when I asked for another one I had to pay another pound.

We have been to the Black Bull before and the food was good and the people lovely but we were there on Wednesday and it was so disappointing my chicken was dry the stirfry it was on was burnt the service was slow we waited 30 minutes for the desert it had obviously been taken out of the freezer and was not de thawed properly the sponge was dry and icy I asked 4 times for our dessert but everyone seamed to ignore us and was occupied with another job there was 4 of us my sister in law’s fish and chips was very good and so was my husband’s and brother in law’s pie was ok I just felt it was worth telling you so you don’t make the same mistake again it was so disappointing

We came as a family and had a booking but we were earlier than expected and we're still accommodated. Unfortunately this was where the pleasantness ended. A few of us sat at the front of the restaurant to watch the football, which was fine at first. We then overheard another customers conversation based on their own prejudicial views, these views were then related to a member of staff and we were moved to sit in another area. When we ordered the kids food we were not informed that to get the kids meal everything had to be ordered at the same time, not being able to order desert later, which increased our costs as we didn't get the meal deal pricing. This was not a great experience for us and not one we would wish to subject our children to again.

I come to the hungry Horse on a regular basis. I am always greeted by a friendly smile. Staff all work hard to make sure that your visit is enjoyable. I have tried many dishes. But my favourite is the chicken skewers. Followed by the lovely chocolate fudge cake . The pub it self very clean and sanitised. There is always someone going around cleaning unlike some of the pubs I have been to. I definitely recommend this place. And I will be back Wendy and Kevina are delightful

The menu has been greatly reduced and was disappointed with the menu on offer. Wanted Hotdogs and other things but they simply doesn't exist anymore. When we got there a sign says you'll be seated and yet not one staff member was around so had to go and ask someone.

On Sunday 18th August I went with a large group of friends looking forward to a nice roast, how absolutely disappointing!! The food was absolutely disgusting, almost inedible. It looked like it had been left on the plate all day then shoved in the microwave before serving, and the gravy came out of the tiny jug in one lump!! None of us could eat it so we were all still very hungry, we did order and eat a dessert as we knew we were probably on safe ground there! In retrospect, we should have asked for our money back, rest assured that we will NEVER eat there again, nor recommend. On the only plus side, the waiting staff were lovely as always, but the chef (if indeed there was one) could do with cooking lessons, or find another career!

A bit disappointed. Hadn't been in for a while. The food was fine although waited a long time for it to arrive. Plates not cleared until dessert arrived. Very loud (including the staff). Found it a bit rough and ready.

We have been here twice and both times it was enjoyable from atmosphere being buzzing with all the locals having a few drinks and family's enjoying a get together, The service is always impeccable and food is a good standard for a reasonable price.

Can't fault it. Never had a bad meal at The Black Bull. Good prices and great staff!
