I come to the Black Bull on a regular basis as I am always drawn back by the happy and welcoming staff as well as the reasonably priced, good quality food. They assisted me in a large Xmas booking back in December during a hard time for my colleagues and I as we were going through administration; they catered to all of our needs and ensured our experience was top tier! Sue is wonderful and very friendly, always smiles and greets me when I come in!

Visit regularly, the staff are always great and super friendly. The atmosphere is always good and the food is excellent.

This place is a joke my daughter wanted to go out for a meal my wife was going here the following day with her friends nothing changed the following day. The 4 of us went out and they manged after we ordered and paid 56 pound for our meals to mess up 3 meals wife's was wrong type of meal mine had a different item I didn't order and youngest daughter had some curry spice powder over her plain chips she wanted with her meal. My eldest daughters meal was over cooked and she could only eat the few chips and inside of what she ordered. Waitress couldn't care trying to tell us that's what we ordered and did nothing the manager was the same. I bought this up with her too after our meals when we were leaving. All that was suggested was you should have said something we did to the waitress who never came back. The following day wife did not even get her meal at all when the rest of the party did and when it cane it was rubbish. Wouldn't use here again we only visited as I was to tired after work to use the wheatsheaf over ramsgate which is much better rarely have any trouble there.

Donna was an amazing hostess can't recommend her enough. Bar staff was lovely and mitch was also lovely xx

Never been to a hungry horse before so I was a bit unsure of what to expect, well I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, friendly and attentive staff, good food and amazing value for money, well done guys

Came here for an evening meal before travelling to France in the morning via LeShuttle. This was the best food we have had in years for this value. My wife's steak was perfect, came our sizzling as the menu says and cooked to perfect medium, my chicken skewers were also perfect, the chips were nearly too hot, the way they should be. To all you other restaurants, ie Wetherspoon, Holiday Inn, Marsdon, Etc. This what you should be doing. Remember, this is your profession so should be perfect. Tonight was perfect, well done. Cannot wait for the next time.

Brilliant service and food is great

Turned up for a meal for 9 people that we prebooked a table only to be told they hadn't written down the reservation and they were full. 6 very disappointed kids and 9 hungry people with nowhere to eat tonight. Disgraceful!! This review was from years ago. The Bull has turned itself around under the current management. I heartily recommend it now. 👌🏼

We had dinner here on Monday or had steak and oh my goodness it was the best steak iv ever had cooked to perfection 👌 didn't get many chips tho or beans.

The steak and ale pie was perfect and the curry my partner had was a win as well and the staff were very attentive

Ordered breakfast, wife was late. Staff replated when she arrived. Great, helpful service. Lovely food at decent prices.

The food and service was good. However, my atmosphere rating is lower due to some issues. The table we were sat at was not properly cleaned and was still wet. We asked if this could be cleaned up which it was but not throughly and was still wet. Secondly, there were many young children running around out of control and despite being in a quieter location near the back due to our larger party, the kids continued to run around and even ran into one of the members in our party. Granted, this is not down to the staff and more to do with parents not being able to keep an eye on their children but a little staff intervention would be nice despite the difficulties. Other than that, it was pretty good.

We came here a couple of weeks ago after a last min decision to head out. They're dog friendly, kid friendly and just a friendly atmosphere. The staff worked hard and helped with any questions we had.

We attended for a birthday party. Arrived someone through a dart at someone and a fight irrupted, bar staff took us to the table and were very apologetic. Obviously this was not their fault. So the food. Well let’s just say my stomach feels like it has been assaulted. Pretty sure our starter had spent more time in the deep fat fryer than was required, there was enough grease on the food to lubricate an engine. This I’m afraid made it inedible. Then we moved on to the main course. We had a lasagne eventually took far longer to turn up than everyone else steak sent back as it was cold another mixed grill, cold, the waiter seemed to try and make a joke of it, dirty plates and again more deep fried hiatus hernia inducing unpleasantness. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day. I’m sure it’s just a lack of training or support that the staff need but seriously we won’t go back and I would not recommend anyone else does.

Good is improving all the time. Selection is good for 2 for 2 and everyday has a deal. The staff at the counter are always polite, but can be busy at times. But it's reasonable price. Long gone are the days of a pint and something to eat for a bargain price.

We eat here every Monday with a group 6 lady's at 1.00pm and we have found our Waitress Donna very helpful and nothing is to much for her, And always a big smile on her face so thanks to Donna for a enjoyable experience from Sheelagh and her wellbeing group...

Friendly staff members who are happy to help with whatever the situation good deals on food and drink and at fairly decent price. The manager always comes down to help out and interact with everyone and keeps the pub running smoothly.

Sports pub with big gardens and a top restaurant. For eating: Great menu, all sorts of mix & match options, food was great, proper portions. Outstanding value for money. Really friendly staff. Last visit Donna was waiting our table, really nice, really attentive. Just 1 warning: it's usually packed at the weekend, so worth calling to reserve table beforehand. ATM, got some really great deals Thursdays & Fridays. Overall, top food, top value.

I was at the black bull last night with a festive party and can’t thank you enough for the wonderfully hospitality that we were met with, everything was wonderful the atmosphere the food and especially the staff, I have to mention the little lady Donna ( with no voice) she is a credit to your company she was polite, friendly and from what I saw she was such a lovely lady and can’t thank her , your chefs basically everything was amazing , I hope she’s get her voice back in time for Christmas

As the organiser of this party of over 37 people the hungry horse black bull went out of their way from initial enquiry through to full dining experience to ensure this was the best experience we’ve had as a family, especially considering the holiday season and an already busy environment for them to be working in. It was my grandmothers 89th birthday and accommodations were made to provide a fantastic experience to all who attended. Mitch and Hells/Ells (apologies if this is wrong) were both fantastic! So grateful to all involved in such a beautiful gathering

Absolutely shocking I’m am beyond fuming with this it is unacceptable service not only did they not get all the orders of my party’s correct they completely forgot mine I had to wait a unreasonable amount of time for mine to arrive mildly warm I would not recommend this for any one not acceptable whatsoever

Staff were fantastic, there were nearly 40 of us celebrating a relatives 88th birthday. Mitch and Els served us all night and met all our needs and requests. Thank you so much for assisting our celebrations and making it such a great experience, we travelled from all over Kent to meet here.

The place is nice, the price is not bad, but the food I ordered the chicken was like cooked earlier and they just put it the microwave, It was asked to removed the bacon from the meal but they didn’t. Well never again!
