It is an amazing place to visit, whatever the weather. We always have a walk and then visit some great eateries, restaurants, and bars. We recently went to She Sells Sea Shells and had an amazing seafood broil (totally worth the money), with a few drinks, great service, and had a lovely server called Alison, who was so friendly helpful and welcoming.

Interesting historical facts. Clean toilets, well looked after. Plenty of places to eat and drink, with lots of variety, although visiting out of season so many closed during the week. Quite busy, even in a cold and windy day! Wheelchair/pram accessible. According to local people, lots happening during summertime.

Lived in Folkestone for 6 years now and whilst the harbour has grown and is good fun still, the quality of food has really gone down hill, which poses a threat to the overall harbour plus high end residential property strategy. I understand a change of management combined with rising food prices and the commercial model has driven the higher quality food providers out, but this has created more of a cheap eats burger vibes place, which seems to have changed the demographic a lot. Think it’s important to keep a mix of higher and lower quality food and encourage artisan food venues or instead of eating on the arm I will just head to Sandgate. Brewing brothers and sea sells sea shells are arguably the only decent place left with good quality food imho.

August 30, 2024 Folkestone is a hidden diamond! Unfortunately, it is often mentioned in the same breath as Dover, but there are literally worlds apart!! Folkestone is a beautiful, traditional port on the Channel coast with everything you could want for a holiday on the English south coast! And the Folkestone Harbor Arm is a real surprise! We didn't expect so much activity, so much choice of snack bars, sea food restaurants, tea rooms, burger restaurants, souvenir shops, etc. And everything has style because they stuck to a clear design language when designing it: the simple seating combinations consisting of a table and two benches are simply built but clearly drawn - and you can find them everywhere! You can tell that people enjoy spending time here. A wonderful place to relax, stroll, look, eat, drink, enjoy!... A day at the seaside!

I think this very much depends on time of year. We went in the summer hols and it was jam packed so too overwhelming for us. However, the fish and chips we excellent, it seemed family friendly and people were enjoying the beach area, swimming in the sea and walking along the harbour. There is plenty of parking right on the harbour which convenient. Lots of families who had those huge beach trolleys and settled in for a full day of enjoyment. We went early evening for a fish supper, so it was pleasantly cool by then. For those who love the busyness, sounds of families having fun this is a great place. For us, I think in the quieter seasons it could be more enjoyable.

Good pub in a barren local area if you like lager beer and spirits, no real ale. Great for sports as surrounded by TV screens. Good in the summer for drinking outside. I believe it was taken over after the pandemic, never see the new landlord so it runs itself I suppose. Staff are nice and friendly. Food is all frozen stuff yuck, pizza and chicken bites etc bad for health but who cares after 5 pints and next door there is a great Nepalese restaurant. I think they’re missing an opportunity for proper pub grub like burgers and fish n chips and pies etc but good selection of crisps and peanuts and pork scratchings (sic)

An excellent Sunday lunch for 8 family members. An interesting menu and great service. I had the roast lamb, it's a good portion with an exceptional Yorkshire Pudding. The broccoli and green beans were lightly cooked, still bright green and crisp as there should be. The roast potatoes could have been a little crisper but the tender, tasty lamb more than made up for that. With squid to start and mouse for dessert I left feeling very well fed.
