lovely spot by the canal....however from what it used to be would not recommend...assistants not interested in serving too busy involved with phones eventually served and back to phones....all in all did not think place was very clean ...looked like a tray of lukewarm bacon waiting for somebodys sandwich.......give it a miss.

Went on Feb 26th at 11 am, hoping to try their breakfast. The cafe was shut, next door shop was open. There was no signage to say when and why it was shut.

Proper cake, handmade by the friendly Lady herself. Magnificent. And reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

We love Katey’s Cafe and go there all the time, it’s in a lovely spot on the Chesterfield Canal. Katey and her staff are really nice and accommodating. We tend to have a toasted sandwich of some description and a drink. The area around the cafe is beautifully maintained by volunteers from the Chesterfield Canal Trust and a visit to their shop/hub next door is highly recommended.

Walked along the Chesterfield Canal and stopped here for a drink. It’s easily accessible from the road and there’s a decent vet park. Nice cup of coffee outside in the sun.

Living not too far away this little cafe is perfect for a drink and bite to eat as long as you don't want a full blown meal. I use it regularly and it is always clean and tidy, the staff friendly and is situated right beside the canal tow path. Prices are average to most other cafes in the area, what makes this one stand out is its proximity

Lovely setting right on the water / canal From outside it looks promising Staff very friendly 1 slice of Quiche only cost £1:95 that’s very good Value That’s all you get - no salad or chips and wouid most happily pay more for chips and or salad with it Toasty was nice but think they only offer white bread ( do offer salad with it too ) Be good to have options of brown and granary And paninis Only milk alternatives they offer is soya ( we all know this is only for trend and extremely bad for you - increases risk of breast cancer ) Would like to see more choice They really are missing a trick here as the staff and location is so nice Perhaps they might Try offering oat almond or coconut milk ( check doesn’t contain soya ) Do they offer other teas ? We will be passing by quite frequently so Wouid like to visit and support this cafe …. But cannot if they offer very very basic options . Maybe next time I’ll bring my own milk alternatives or tea bags and try out their cakes As really would like to support such nice people

Called in for quick coffee on walk into chesterfield although this was a Monday service was very slow even though 3 members of staff there was no efficiency in any of the tasks. If the staff have a bit get up and go attitude this could be a great cafe.

Fanastic service, really good breakfast. The only Criticism I have is they don’t have the best vegetarian options but the breakfast without is good enough. Fantastic and homely service and I would recommend to anyone. The service from Courtney and Katie is fantastic and I would recommend anyone to visit this place for food, coffee and socialising. Thank you for your good service and keep up the good work.

We were going for a cycle ride on the Chesterfield Canal towpath from the Hollingwood Hub and saw that there was a cafe on the side of the Canal, so missed our usual great cafe and thought we'd try this one. What a mistake, cheap rolls and cheap sausages! I There was a coffee machine on the side and I asked if it was instant coffee or ground coffee. The girl behind the counter said it was real coffee. Well, I have to tell you, my dear, that it was instant and it was awful - undrinkable!. What a shame, it's in such a lovely position, but in future will take our own food and drink!

Arrived here purely by accident. What a great little cafe by the Lock. Sat outside spoke to everyone and all very friendly. Had black coffees with scrambled egg on brown toast. Lots of walking if required and cycle tracks. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ample car parking. Will go again.

We visited on a very hot day when the staff were clearly as hot as the food they were serving, but they were full of smiles and very polite as they served us with cold drinks and ice creams. Pay them a visit - they deserve it.

BEWARE if you have salad here as you could end up with long black hair in it as an unwanted extra, but also Beware of the staff if you mention it as I did . You will get no apology only an aggressive owner telling me I should have returned it, which I replied I left it on the plate but just wanted them to know about it, she argued back again quite loudly. Not a great way to treat your customers if you want a successful business. Obviously hygiene not important to them if not keeping hair tied back when preparing & serving food. Another point, have soap & paper in your toilets. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WONT BE BACK.

We called for breakfast before a 16 Mile bike ride to Rother valley and back. £4.95 for full English including toast. Friendly smiling staff. Sat in the sunshine overlooking the canal as the lock rises and falls. What a great way to start the day. Kids are well catered for too. We will be back.

We found this cafe on Trip Advisor after we had taken a walk at Poolsbrook Country Park and their cafe was closed for Boxing Day. A surprising find. It is at the Hollingwood Hub on the bank of the canal in a sunny position. It is small inside, but there is also outside seating. The staff were friendly, the decor had some nice touches and they had a good selection of food and drinks. For example we had pork cobs and a pot of tea at lunchtime. It was fairly busy with walkers and cyclists in and out all the time. Nice little cafe.

Often come down here with my friends and family on nice afternoons. Cakes are absolutely fantastic, breakfasts are amazing and the sausage rolls are unbelievable. Staff are always more than happy to help with anything even considering how busy it can get on Sunday afternoons!

We arrived at the cafe at 3:35pm, 25 minutes before the advertised closing time on a Sunday afternoon. We had arranged to meet some friends there. The chairs had been put up onto the tables and one member of staff was noisily hoovering. We had drinks and food served on polystyrene crockery and the hoovering continued until it was finished. There was only one choice of cake left, which had already been put away. It is the least welcoming cafe I have ever visited. An astonishing approach considering it has been under new management for only 1 month, you would expect more of an effort, on probably the busiest afternoon of the week. My first and last visit.

We visited Willow Springs cafe and soft play regularly prior to lockdown, and this was our first visit since they re-opened. The new outdoor play area is a breath of fresh air for families desperate to let their kids get back to normal - a clean, safe space for children to play whilst parents can enjoy a drink at the spaced tables. Staff were really friendly and we had a great time. Will definitely be returning!
