Stopped by as they opened on a Sunday morning with the dog. A really friendly welcome and a great selection of fresh baked cakes, coffees, tea and more. The coffee was excellent and the banana muffin still warm and delicious. A treat for Sammy the dog completed a lovely Sunday morning when little else is open at nine o’clock. Highly recommended.

My favourite place in Edinburgh to get a delicious, freshly baked cake and a hot chocolate on the cold wintery days. Such a lovely atmosphere with the best baker in town, Kate. I would recommend this place to anyone, you won't be disappointed!

Cucina a vista , vetrina e banco pulito e curato , a tavolo trovi fuori libri e tanta tranquillità.

You cannot fault this café, the staff are friendly, and always have a smile. They have gluten-free cakes, which are baked on the premise, and the taste is very good, in fact the best we have ever tasted. The tea and coffee are always good, and the service is of the best you will find.

Small and very friendly cafe with great coffee and baking. Sell eggs, jams etc and a few others things and will do cakes/desserts to order. I think everything is home made. Limited seating but photo share some of the larger tables with others.

Kate's baked goods are simply devine. Light and fresh. Always excellent. Her cafe has a nice, cosy atmosphere, she makes great coffee, and Kate herself is always welcoming and friendly.

Home baking at its finest. No better place in Edinburgh for delicious, heartfelt food that warms you up. The cheese scones are the star of the show (although the frangipane is a close second!).

Excellent cheese scone and delicious coffee at Kate’s, a small coffee shop tucked away in Newington. So delicious, in fact, that we immediately ordered a bramble and lemon scone which came warmed with a slightly tart rhubarb jam. All made by Kate. Heavenly!

Her er mange stamkunder. God kaffe og virkelig gode scones (hjemmelavede). Både plain eller med cheddacheese.

They do say that Edinburgh is the Paris of the North but I never expected to find a little bakery cum coffee shop of this quality in a country which invented the aberration that is the deep-fried mars bar!. The delights on offer included venison sausage rolls vegetable pastries with wild garlic pesto and an array of cakes too delicious and numerous to mention. Everything is baked on the premises daily by the proprietress a gorgeous strawberry blonde who also serves excellent coffee. This is, without doubt, the best little coffee shop and bakery in the whole of Edinburgh

A great little coffee shop and bakery on the Southside. Friendly and relaxed. Child friendly too, my son loved his babyccino! A small amount of local goods on sale which was great to see.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the first class lunch served to us at the Wednesday Lunch Club in The Gift Tree Corstorphine. Started with a delicious Amuse Bouche. Followed with cheese and broccoli quiche. Served with baked potato and coleslaw. Pudding was a scrumptious berry crumble with custard. Together with a hot drink. Excellent value!

This is a church cafe run by volunteers. It says it is an outreach cafe and an asset to the community - but this is hardly the case when the prices are off putting and more expensive than most cafes run as businesses. A very poor cappuccino cost £3.40 and my baked potato was nearly £8. It is set up in a church hall and the volunteers are pleasant but not exactly efficient (my baked potato was left on an adjacent table until I asked where it was). All the members of our table had their food delivered at different times so some were finished before others had started (we ordered together).
