Kaspa's in Chelmsford

Staff were kind and when entering we got offered to sit where we wanted. Food and drinks came quickly but the smoothie tasted very watery and flavourless it was strawberry and banana, the crepe was stone cold but the melted chocolate was the only thing that kept it warm. I would come back again but only for an ice cream and nothing else.

I came here with a friend it was quite it was nice and picked any seat that was free I ordered a smoothie thinking it was going to be good but it’s very watery can’t really taste the flavour. The waffle I had was nice but the only thing that was warm was the chocolate sauce even though it was fluffy. I went in the bathroom and there was no toilet paper in the toilet only one bathroom working. I would go again but wouldn’t go for the smoothies.

The pistachio kunafe, I think these people don’t know what’s the kunafe or pistachio flavor is about. We just got one and tasted so plain, please try to buy some premium pistachios, because 11 pounds was a ripe off.

Doughnut was a cut up cheap doughnut and sprinkled with cinnamon. Hard to swallow like it was stale. Won’t order again

don't wast your money!! they deliver items which aren't what you ordered, miss sauce off the orders, ask for soft serve ice cream you get a standard vanilla which tasted awful. phone up to ask why their machine has been broken for a month for soft serve so just deliver the vanilla scoop!! false advertising at its finest from this store!! don't waste your money going to this place. can't even get a refund

The crepe was a bit too chocolatey and the raspberry drink really triggered my autism as it had raspberry seeds in and it made me throw up

Ordered crepe came cold asked for new one reheated in microwave and was hard. Also ordered a smoothie and hard whole fruits warm and disgust8ng. Service was terrible lady clearly ignoring me. Also table was very wobbly

Came here for the first time. Tried the luxurious pistachio deserts and fell in love with the taste. The location is lovely. If u wanna sit or walk outside u can see the water flowing and it’s was so peaceful at the end of a hectic day.

We ordered a little moons waffle but got no little moons. I ordered it for my little sister and she was heartbroken. The fettuccine crepe barely had any Nutella/chocolate sauce and was very bland.

Very slowly service waited 45 minutes for 2 drinks which one was a redbull and a hot chocolate the server did not apologise took 1 hour for the dessert to come out

Popped into Kaspa’s today with my boyfriend after a family recommendation to grab a birthday milkshake, and WOW! We ordered the banoffee milkshake, and oh my gosh, it was hands down the best banoffee ever! It's made with real banana and biscuits! The staff were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and friendly. Yusuf served us, and he was just the nicest guy, always smiling and making us feel at home. Such a great vibe! Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

This has got to be the most disappointing sundae I have ever seen, it arrived half empty, and appears to only have 1 scoop of ice cream inside it, absolutely abysmal

Absolutely rubbish. Came in for some desserts - brownie was stone cold and sundae with a supposedly ‘hot’ fudge cake had no ‘hot’ fudge cake. They also messed up our order and didn’t bring us the correct items, making us wait about 20 minutes for a BOTTLE OF COKE. SERIOUSLY! We used to love the one in Basildon, but this is embarrassing.

Treat stop was closed so I ordered for the first (and last time) from here. Ice cream was horrible. The ‘kunafa’ crepe was VILE didn’t taste anything like pistachio! Was stone cold and barely any sauce I paid extra for! And ridiculously over priced!!

Being the only desert shop in the city centre it's a shame they close their dine in early and then only provide take away. They already prioritise delivery orders over dine in guests, so it's another kick in the gut that they don't appreciate walk in / dine in customers.

Kaspa’s has a great variety of desserts, and overall, the experience was enjoyable. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice. However, I have to mention that the Pistachio Kunafa Crepe was disappointing. Instead of kunafa, it had vermicelli, which looks similar but tastes completely different. I’d recommend checking the proper recipe for the pistachio kunafa mix to ensure authenticity. Here’s a proper recipe for the Pistachio Kunafa Mix for reference: 1)Kunafa dough (also called Kadayif, available in Turkish and Middle Eastern stores), toast until golden. To prevent clumping, separate it before toasting. 2)Tahini, mix in after toasting the kunafa. 3) Pistachio paste or sauce, add and combine everything well. 4)Use this mix inside the crepe and top with chocolate and crushed pistachios for an authentic taste. On the bright side, the other desserts were enjoyable, and I’d still return to try more!

The bueno cookie dough was decent. However we had an issue with one of the desserts, specifically the pistachio kunafa crepe. It tasted very odd and burnt, the kunafa tasted nothing like pistachio and was soggy. We proceeded to ask someone for extra chocolate for the crepe and they said ok and ignored us even when we called them over. Would not recommend their kunafa collection 👎🏼👎🏼

Had their new pistachio kunefah crepe worst thing I have ever tried there was no pistachio sauce barely any chocolate and kunafeh was weird and soggy tasted like damp tissue £11 for a bland piece of chewy bread we asked a worker if she could add a bit more chocolate she never came back to us we tried to call her again and she flat out ignored us we then reached out the a different worker and finally got a response and got a little pot of chocolate that made the crepe actually edible

Had to contact the restaurant ourselves to have the order prepared, they seemed to have no knowledge of the order and in turn it arrived 35 minutes late, which is not ideal when it is feeding 8 members of staff for their lunch breaks.

Great selection of desserts, treats and drinks. Not too badly priced. However, the place is in desperate need of a deep clean and floor replacement. Could do with a better ordering system as well (i.e. order at table via waitress or app) so you don't have to queue up with people taking away.

Ordered brownie mess but they haven’t put any chocolate and strawberry with it. Only fresh cream and icecream. It’s really disappointing. It’s for the second time we got a bad experience from kaspa’s chelsmford branch . I am a regular customer since 2023 . This really disappointing

The floor is wet, sodden and collapsing in several areas. Rudimental and bodged repairs are a trip hazard. The toilets are disgusting! Certainly not a place to take children.

Absolutely love it here and go all the time! However, it has gotten a little pricey recently and I can remember when the waffles were £5-£6 now they are £10+! It is delicious so is a nice treat once in a while but if you’re looking to go as a group or family it won’t be cheap! Delicious waffles, cookie dough and milkshakes though!

Great choice but terrible service. There were 6 of us but our food came out randomly one thing at a time with a 10 minute wait in-between. The table next to us would get one thing, and another table, then one more cookie dough would appear at our table. It was so strange! The plan was obviously to eat together! Drinks would normally come out first but they were also one at a time after the food. It was really unorganised. Our sons food came out first and he had finished 25 minutes before mine even came out which was the last part of the order. Served coffee with no sugar or spoon and tea with no milk. Asked for milk twice, but ended up going up to the counter because no one came back. We had to chase everything and waited 55 minutes to get our total order which was disappointing. The toilets were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for days. People were walking straight back out of them, including myself. Such a shame as we looked forward to going, and the food was nice, but we definitely won’t go back.

this same delivery driver is very persistent in offering out free alcohol to take his number. I've made a complaint previously and do not want him delivering.

waffles can't get any better 💦... great customer service suggested their best flavor in bubble tea which was flavourful. Manager was really helpful sorted me another drink as a complimentary. Would highly recommend and would visit again

I Was disappointed with the ice cream they gave me a half scoop of ice cream when I ordered one scoop ..

I placed an order at 6.30 an hour and a half we waited. And the food wasn’t even good! The strawberries weren’t ripe, the ice cream had melted, the waffles were burnt. And the milkshake didn’t even taste of milky bar just milk.

My food took an hour for estimates time of 20-30 minutes and then I didn’t get the white chocolate sauce I paid extra for and the pancake was mushed up and inedible

I ordered a waffel from kaspers at 19:09 and said he delivered at 19:25 but only received it at 20:10. I also ordered extra strawberry slices and banana slices and it arrived with only 10 pieces of strawberries on it and no bananas. The waffle is ice cold and the ice cream has melted.

I’ve been to Kaspas once but in Colchester.. that was a while back. My friend goes to that one quite regularly and highly rates it. We were meeting our other friend in Chelmsford, so thought we’d give this one a go. On arrival, we was greeted by a lovely lady who was smiley, gave us some menus and told us to sit where we wanted. That was a great start. Walking around the restaurant to find a seat was easy as it was empty. There was only one couple in there. It was quiet, there was no music and I realise it’s cold outside and it’s a dessert place, but it was cold in the restaurant. There was no atmosphere. We wasn’t sure if someone was coming over to take our orders, but after sitting for quite some time, we went up and ordered. One of our group had ordered something with strawberries, but they said they were out of strawberries? I’d understand if it was busy, or maybe they thought they wouldn’t have many people in that evening, but there were 3 or 4 people I could see behind the serving desk. I had the Reece’s waffle. It was nice, but very sickly after just one bite. That’s down to preferences and taste. The others enjoyed their waffles and crepes. After we’d finished, we piled the plates up and pushed them to the side of the table. We sat at the table for quite some time chatting away, and nobody came and cleared the table. Not sure what they were all too busy doing? The toilets weren’t what I expected. They’re disabled access which is very good. But they weren’t the cleanest or comfiest for a bathroom. The floor around the restaurant was damaged in several places, and covered with metal plates or bits of material which were creating more of a tripping hazard. The only bit of damaged flooring that actually had a sign by it was by the front serving desk. As we left the restaurant, I realised there was window cleaner or some kind of spray cleaner left on one of the tables. I noticed someone cleaning the window earlier, and it’s an easy mistake to make but if a child had walked passed and sprayed or picked it up, it could have been a hazard or risk. My whole outcome of this restaurant is it needs some refurbishing and redecorating, considering the state of the flooring, the rips on the chairs and the bathroom. It’s unsafe, and due to the lack of care or staff attention, I wouldn’t go back.

I have waited 3 hours for my order. That’s beyond ridiculous. I tried to cancel it and there was no where to cancel. The ice cream was all melted. The milkshake tasted horrible. And the waffle and brownie was stone cold.

We usually go here for desserts which is decent. however, toilet is always out of order. one time, I went in without my phone and got trapped when the handle broke so had to scream to be heard so they can help me out. no sorry nothing but it’s ok.

I love the extensive menu here—there's something for everyone. But I was surprised they only offer smooth peanut butter milkshakes, not crunchy. I’d already set my heart on it, so I tried the smooth version anyway which was good. At £5.75 for a large, it's well-priced. Service was quick and decent, but the place itself feels a bit tired and could use a spruce-up. A good tidy or some TLC from 'head office' wouldn't hurt. That said, it won’t stop me from coming back—I’m eager to try more from the menu!

The woman serving me was surprised I was not happy with this, her colleagues also thought i was being unreasonable. I had ordered 4 single cones to go. I was not expecting this and requested a refund. Sorry but I have never had an ice cream like that lol. Strange they thought this was normal...

My dessert was nice but they really need to sort the toilets out. With shared cubicles with no working lock I’m glad I didn’t have my children with me. Such an easy thing to fix!

original time expected was 7.10pm, that was then updated twice before settling on 7.40-7.50pm, didn't arrive until after 8pm, stone cold instead of warm. quality of food itself has been steadily getting worse each time I've ordered from this shop. won't be ordering from it again.

Went in for a birthday treat, ordered for the party all correct other than one order, sent it back, then had to chase the order as everyone had finished and we was still waiting on the incorrect order, finally arrived and it was wrong again (exactly the same as what had been sent back) so had to get a refund eventually as it was one person who hadn't eaten and they had enough of waiting. Disabled toilet was absolutely disgusting, it was flooded with no sight of any wet floor sign or sign of anyone attempting to clean and the emergency pull cable was tied out of reach

First time visiting here, lovely location by the river, sat outside. Quick and friendly service. Hands down THE BEST waffle I've ever had!! And amazing portion/value for money.

I went there with my kids and friends, the place is simply nice. My daughter has a nut allergy and been handled very well by the Team and staffs are really friendly and nice service.

I was appalled by the state and smell of the toilets. I note this has been reported before, with comments to the effect this will be sorted. Well it is not, if anything worse! I cannot trust this behaviour is not ending up with cleanliness in the food preparation area, so I will not trust you again, a shame, but these are simply the worst I can recall, and cannot dream of allowing children anywhere near them.

I’m trying to decide if I’d recommend this place… on the one hand, the deserts and milkshakes were really tasty, however they didn’t have the first 2 things I’d ordered so that was disappointing, the restaurant also appeared grubby and the staff seemed pretty clueless (asked me if I wanted cream on the shake, said no, yet when it came out it had cream on it and I’d been charged an extra pound for the cream I hadn’t ordered). It was also extremely expensive. However, I’d still return, and kids loved it so all good.

took an hour for the food even to be picked up from the restaurant. at least half of that time it said "the driver has arrived" on the app, he clearly hadn't. by the time it got to me it was cold. I would like just eat to refund me (none of this is the restaurants fault, it is your fault)

I don’t know why I don’t learn with Kaspa‘s. I only bother with them now when Cookies and Cones aren’t delivering & every time the ice cream is beyond disappointing. I paid over £10 for a mint once cream and got half a cup of chocolate ice cream, half a cup of CREAM, no mint ice cream and some mint sauce. Disgusting way to treat customers!

Will never be ordering from here again always over an hours wait for our food and tonight the app said food was delivered but nothing had come what a waste of time and money

Tasty dessert, but the restaurant was untidy. Uneven floor around the cashier. Felt like a clattering and unhygienic place as tables around us were uncleaned. 2 out of 4 items I ordered weren't available! Disappointed visit sadly.

Took my money and cancelled my order without any information.

Poor service today. Orders 2 bubblegum sundaes. No bubblegum sauce in either and both half empty. Spoke to Dennis who said because it's just eat there is nothing he can do.

We had a good experience at Kaspas. Excellent service and excellent food. The doger donut 🍩 is just amazing.

I don't want to hammer the business down with a poor review but I would like to share my experience this time. Kaspa's is one of the best places to treat yourself, so I went with my daughter today, it was quite busy but the order came shortly after. I have order a Bubblelicious Sundae which was great and a Strawberry Indulgence Waffle. It barely had any chocolate sauce but it was still good. What I saw next it left me speechless. One of the staff members was sitting next to the till and picking his nose in front of everyone like it was nobody business, tall guy with glasses. Shortly after it went to the ice cream section to serve a customer. I think the staff needs more training in health and safety. Overall good experience. Thank you.
