I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS!!! Me and my sister visited kaspa’s in Bury St Edmunds for a waffle dessert and two teas. My sister asked if she could also have a tap water with some ice, shockingly she was told “no, as we can’t charge you for ice.” I’m sorry but you are a multi million pound company who, let’s be honest, should allow your customers to have ice in a tap water if requested. This was my first visit to your dessert restaurant and will most certainly be my last. We asked to speak to a manager who then proceeded to give my sister a whole glass of ice (begrudgingly) but not before telling us, it’s not company policy 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think based on the reviews I have read, the staff need to be up skilled in the term customer service. I would like to add that the bucket the cutlery came in was utterly disgusting 🤢 perhaps rather than having 5 staff standing behind the bar chatting you should take some care in keeping the restaurant up to scratch.

Went with family, placed our order, drinks come out quick then my food and waited about 15 mins for families food and when asked about it they had forgotten, no actual apology and no offer of an extra drink or anything.. Didn’t seem to be an adult/manager working with any sense. Food was good but disappointing service

Went with a few friends and the service was immaculate! I ordered a waffle and it was lovely, very friendly staff and the food arrived quick

Young untrained staff who have no idea how to greet customers. 3 adults and 2 children, empty cafe but no tables available to seat 5 people. She could clean one but there would be a wait! It was empty in there! She grabbed a grubby looking cloth and stormed off. Food nothing like pictures on menu, very small portions for a lot of money for ice cream. Lots of staff but a long wait probably because we'd asked her to clean a table. Wouldn't go again and would never recommend it to others. Grim and dark interior, not sure what they were aiming for. Grandson needed to use the toilet. Only the disabled one was available and it was so disgusting as to be unusable. Really need to get their act together, awful dining experience. I had to give it 1 star unfortunately.

Absolutely appalling. To be honest I wanted to leave 0/5 but it wouldn’t allow me. I have never experienced anything like the awful service and one rude, vile staff member. We visited today (16th dec 22) as an end of term treat for my daughter. Ordered an ice cream, cookie desert and milkshake. Not a hard order. Sat down. Tables all around us were filthy. Got our cutlery on our table to find it was somebody’s old cutlery that was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned. Sat and waited for 40 minutes. Our drink hadn’t even arrived. Went and asked for a refund as our parking was about to run out. They said they could quickly make the milkshake to go so we said fine as it was a treat and my daughter was so disappointed. I’m not sure what took so long as there were literally 3 tables in the place and I could see they weren’t busy at all. We Were told we couldn’t have money refunded to my card (how it was originally pAid) but could have cash. We accepted this. Then we were given the wrong change. When the milkshake was made it was the wrong size and realised I had been overcharged and given a large. Not the regular size I had asked for. When I complained about this the short haired girl (said her name was Elle when asked but she may have been lying as she knew I was making a complaint to management about her) told me that was what I had ordered and I couldn’t have the difference in money back despite being charged more for the size I didn’t have and was very rude. While this was happening my 2 year old managed to fall and bump her head. I put the 8 year olds milkshake on the counter top and turned to help her. I then turned to speak to ‘Elle’ again at which point she picked up my 8 year old daughters full milkshake from the side and threw it in the bin behind her despite my daughter wanting it and me making no implication we were done with it at which my daughter started to cry. I told her that our trip had been absolutly awful and that her behaviour for somebody in a customer facing job was disgusting at which she had a massive go at me in front of my children and was incredibly rude, calling me names and just being generally vile until we left. I work as a manager in hospitality and if a member of my staff treated a customer in this way they would no longer have a job to come back to. Your staff need some serious training. we will not be returning and I will be telling everyone I can about the awful awful service and experience we had at your restaurant.

My son bought me a voucher for Kaspar's for my birthday. Went yesterday but what a let down. It just lacked the wow factor. My Knickerbocker glory was just some ice cream with about three chunks of pineapple and and bit of cream. My wife has the salted caramel cheesecake which was stale. For the ( hard earned) money, it was definitely not worth it. On a positive, the two girls serving were helpful and polite. It was a shame our visit wasn't a special treat that was intended. Certainly not good value for the money.

Don’t bother! We went as a family of 5 and were really disappointed. Had to change our order twice due to not having the ingredients. Once ordered the Waffles came out still with missing ingredients. Ordered 2 lattes and they were just hot milk, couldn’t taste any coffee - undrinkable. When explained to the waitress that they just tasted of milk and maybe a espresso shot could be added to them the reply was “yes you can add a shot but your have to pay for it ” The music was changed every minute they couldn’t let one song play through before it was changed to another by a employee sat behind the till. All in all a bad experience and we’re give it a miss from now on.

A few friends had been pre covid and said how amazing it was and many couldn't believe I'd never been with such a sweet tooth so decided that's where we could go for my mum's birthday treat she has a sweet tooth like me. We then read some previous reviews and weren't quite sure whether to still go or not but can honestly say so glad we did wasn't the cheapest but had already looked up the menu online so was aware and as said birthday treat wouldn't do everyday, few things unavailable but seems to be happening everywhere with supply issues at the min and the staff were all helpful and the food was amazing good portion sizes too. Food wait was about average was quiet afternoon has to be made etc nice relaxed atmosphere would definitely return at some point as a very naughty treat

Visited today because I wanted to treat my 2 boys, my daughter took my middle son a few weeks ago and said it was nice so thought I would treat them here. Well where do I start. We got seated rather quickly, we was seated near the where they take peoples orders witch was ok. Everything seemed nice until a group of lad come in, I would say they was around 13-14 years old, they where very polite, one wanted Reece’s waffles to be told very abrupt and rudely they don’t have any, she did apologise for the way she said it but still you are the worker have manners, I don’t care if you have told 2 people or 50 people that you are out of Reece’s no need to talk to that lad like that. We received our order, strawberry indulged crepes for me, Banoffee waffle for the little one and brownie crepes for my other son, all looked very nice but mine only had 1 strawberry cut up on it, 1 bloody strawberry for £6.45 crepes with strawberries and chocolate, I said is there meant to be only one strawberry to the young girl that brought it over, and to be fair she went and got me some more. But 1 bloody strawberry. After I was done I went to the toilet and my god they was not pleasant, smelly and wee all over the seat. Tissue over the floor, I try to get tissue to wipe the seat before I tried to hover over it to do my business but the paper would not come out for love or money. I took myself to the desk to ask if the toilets was open upstairs and they was not, not opening the toilet upstairs in the school holidays come in girls. Well I took me and the boy out of there to use to loo at Mc Donald’s, thank you Mc Donald’s toilets was ok. Food was very nice to be fair but the staff are awful, no one was over the age of 18 years old. Kaspa shame on you get yourself a worker that has some life experience instead of only having the younger people and paying less wages paying. Again food was very nice once I got more strawberries 😁

Cannot understand why people still go to this establishment. The service is always poor, staff uniforms dirty. Was refused seating because they closed in an hour and wanted to get home on time. Just terrible

Went for first time with grandchildren, but having read reviews wasn't sure what to expect. However staff were pleasant, hostess was good,our table and seats were clean, and so were others we walked past, as far as we could see. The floor was also clean. Just a little wait for food no more than 10 minutes and it was good.

Sadly very disappointed after wanting to visit a Kaspas again for so long. The food was amazing (the only reason for 2 stars), but the Restuarant, terrible. We visited at the beginning of the year and I am still upset by my visit (I don’t usually like to write reviews but this visit deserves one). We were seated in the busiest area surrounded by teenagers and busy tables, so not very Covid friendly, while the entire other side of the restaurant was empty. Our menus were covered in melted ice cream which then got on our tables and clothes as we weren’t expecting it, as well as cutlery covered in fingerprints and grime. One of our friends took these up to the till to which he was rudely told by the girl on there that we would have to wait for more cutlery to be washed (why do you not have clean cutlery on hand?). There was gum over the sign in the window, ice cream splattered in the lamp shade, the table was sticky and the lady on the till was quite rude. As a worker in a restaurant, these are not big demands and it is not a hard job to wipe down menus and tables at the very least. We felt like they just wanted us in and out ASAP, with no personal attentiveness and no care for us customers being there, almost like we were a hassle. I understand being busy and overwhelmed with influxes of customers, but half the restuarant was empty and the table had been sat lonely before we sat down, while staff wandered about aimlessly (plenty of time to at least wipe a table or menu). It felt lazy. It is clear that it is not the back of house team failing this Restuarant, it is the front of house team. Underwhelming first visit to Bury St Edmunds, and a disappointing visit back to a restaurant we have wanted to eat at for so long. Kaspas, please heighten your expectations of this branch, and teach your staff some customer service communication skills and how to clean a restuarant!

Young Manager very rude. Ordered at 7pm asking to collect at 9pm due to work commitments, didn't get my food till 9.40pm. Food was stone xold, sat on side and i was missing ice cream from two of my orders, as well as my waffle swimming in grease. Awful service. Young manager was rude, had a face like bulldog chewing a wasp. Wont be back unless i get free complimentary order. Shocking

- my son enjoyed the Oreo waffle - we were seated quickly - good location - the waffle took over 20 mins to arrive - the icecream with the waffle was too soft - the scooped ice cream (coconut and strawberry cheesecake) all tasted like bubblegum - we had to wait a while to order - toilet door sticks

Booked a 13th Birthday party for the 30th December. Turned up for our 11.00am booking and the business was shut despite the shop advertising it's Xmas opening times showing as open. Spoke to the business next door who said they had been shut all week. No phone call, no email. Appalling service and a group of very disappointed teenage girls. Big Thank you to Edmundo's for saving the day

Ordered 2 waffles for collection at 8:25, arrived at 8:20 and stood at the counter, there was only one table of 2 sat down and 2 delivery drivers waiting, every other table had left overs on it. After standing at the counter in the entrance for 10 minutes we still hadn't been acknowledged, i noticed the store cupboard was open so i wandered over to have a look at all the ingredients that i wasnt been served, it was at this point a young girl finally came over and said 'can i help?' and slammed the door shut. Delighted at the fact i had just discovered that i was not in fact invisible i explained that i was here for my takeaway which should have been ready now ten minutes ago. She huffed and tutted and said ok i will do it now. in the mean time another could of customers were left standing at the counter, unacknowledged, i said to them if they dont come over they will be ignored. Eventually they had their order of 2 waffles taken, they also surprisingly received there food before us. We eventually got our order at 8:55, 30 minutes after the scheduled time and 35 minutes after we actually entered. I will never return to this shoddy establishment again. The 3 girls working just wandered around without a care in the world with zero customer service skills and an attitude to suggest they have no care about the business. We also noticed that as well as the track and trace bar code, there was a list of customer names, addresses and telephone numbers left on the counter in the entrance open for everyone to see and have access for, clearly the staff have no knowledge of GDPR. Avoid at all costs.

Went and was waiting Atleast 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there. Signed in with track and trace like usual was greeted by a scruffy man I think called Scott who asked if I had done that, when I said yeah he said are you sure then when I said again-that I had he asked to see proof before letting me in then tutted when I showed him, then put our cutlery down in a strop. Food took a while and was okay but that’s not the end of the world, then this man was extremely rude to both girls who worked there and was talking about customers who were in the restaurant loudly enough for us to hear him. Restaurant cleanliness and rudeness from the staff just made me feel uncomfortable and put me off won’t be going back

Waited for ages to be seated, the guy who came over was very scruffy and rude. Nobody acknowledged us when we walked in and just starred. The staff were talking about customers negatively (mostly the boy which I think was called Scott ) loud enough for us to here. The food is decent but won’t be retuning to the bury one anytime soon, cleaninness of it is atrocious and the rude staff completely put me off.

We'd never been to Kaspa's before so wasn't sure what to expect. We were greeted by a lovely guy on the door who explained all the new Covid regs clearly to us and got us to scan the QR code on the door. He took us to our table and even factored in that we had a pushchair so needed a little extra space.We ordered our food at the till and was happy to hear they accepted the Blue Light Card.Food came out quickly and was so good! Staff were so friendly and we were really impressed with the food and service.Looking forward to our next trip to Kaspa's.

OK it was busy during the "eat out to help out" promotion. given the circumstances the service was ok and the food arrived quickly. however what I found very poor was the fact that every spoon brought to the table was greasy and unclean. Every replacement that I found or asked for was also unclean this was an instant turn off to the food.Fun for the kids who may like bright food, but I will not return

On arrival we were greeted by a scruffy young man. Uniform needed to be washed! First thoughts on arrival were not great due to the smell, and cleanliness of the place tables left with food on for ages (table next to us wasn’t cleared for our whole duration). Everywhere was sticky and looked dirty. CUTLERY was appalling all sticky and marks on it. We asked for some new cutlery and was still no better. Our food was good but had to go back for refund on some items as it never came to the table. Would definitely not go again. Much better desserts for the price and cleanliness elsewhere.

Very disappointed, service was terrible. More staff than customers, lots of items unavailable, food very disappointing nothing special and far too expensive. Staff didn't know what they were doing what a shambles. Toilets where disgusting. Horrible trip out with the kids 🤨 never again.

Very very poor customer service, six of us went for an after meal desert. Sorry we can’t sit you all together or even near each other. What about opening a couple of tables in your closed area, oh no we can’t do that it’s closed. Well that’s not good enough when you’ve just ruined my daughter’s birthday evening. Kaspa’s Bury St Edmunds you need to step up to the mark, and sort out you staff. Avoid avoid avoid

Visited on Sunday with my Daughter only about 10 customers in the restaurant was dirty loads of tables not cleared waited 20 mins just for a coffee when it came there was no spoon so that I could add sugar the waitress said she would get me one 10 minutes later returned with a spoon by then I had already used a straw to stir my coffee otherwise it would have gone cold !! Waited 40 mins just for 2 waffles to arrive all of the staff ignore you and chat amongst them selfs it’s a shame that the customer service is so bad because the food was nice they need a good manager in there and some customer service training will not return!!!

I'm sat writing the review as we've been waiting over twenty minutes for an icecream.We asked if they had dairy free options for me when we came in and they said yes. I couldn't see anything on the menu so I asked again, the waitress said she'd bring me the menu. I was expecting dairy free icecream, like soya and dairy free milk for milkshakes which is standard in most places now. After the waitress forgot about me and we asked again I was eventually given a piece of paper with about five options from the menu that were dairy free. These were all sorbets or fruit. No icecream at all. My partner asked if they had any dairy free icecream and the waitress said yes, then indicated the sorbets. My partner said no, icecream, and she said oh we have vanilla. He asked to see it and she took him to it and said its gluten free. Not dairy free? No. I opted not to order anything but my partner ordered a pistachio sundae. We had to wait over twenty minutes for it to turn up and when it did it was tiny and looked nothing like the menu. I've added two pictures, one of the sundae in the menu and then the one we received. His favourite icecream in the world is pistachio and he can rarely find it. He's about to go on a diet so was really excited about it. He said there were bits of jelly on it where it had just sat there and it tasted like soap. He didn't finish it. I won't be coming here again.As an addition, the place is empty now and there are three really dirty tables right next to us that haven't been cleaned for twenty minutes at least.

I have been to Kaspas in Bury on a few occasions but this last visit had to top it off!!!Each time I go there I am told that they are out of this and out of that, which is a reoccurring issue every time and it’s just concerning for a “dessert restaurant” who can’t actually offer anything they serve on the menu. With this in mind, I visited Kaspas this month as a last choice on the way home from a date night, I popped in to get a takeaway waffle. The restaurant wasn’t busy (4 tables max) but we were not greeted at the entrance nor acknowledged on arriving at the counter to order. I was then told by the server that they had ran out of strawberries, which is laughable as I could clearly see a packet behind them (But still I bared in mind that they may have sold out just before me). So I changed my order and ordered something else, not long after, the guy served another person a dessert including strawberries, which I then laughed about to my boyfriend, and the guy behind the counter had heard me mentioning it, and upon doing so, he hid the strawberries out of sight a truly laughable and unprofessional situation! And to top that all off...... when receiving my takeaway, I had to ask for plastic cutlery and napkins and a bag... and when I asked for these things the guy behind the counter said “most people wait and eat it when they get home”, which I think was just rude and really bad customer service. As someone who works in hospitality I wouldn’t imagine being so rude to my customers, and because of this I would never recommend Kaspas in Bury.

Would give a zero if I could. Had to wait 20mins for 2 sundaes and 2 coffees. The milkshake machines were broken. They had no soft vanilla ice cream as the machines were broken. Was offered vanilla gelato instead. My husband had 1/4 scoop added to his hot fudge brownie sundae(which had no hot elements to it) and they forgot to put it on mine. When I raised this to the waitress, she informed me that I could have a free scoop from her on my next visit, this was said as she was already walking away. Both sundaes looked awful. I will never bother going there again.

We have been here before and enjoyed it. But, today was really poor. We waited to be seated, a member of staff came to seat us but then said hold on a minute. After a while he returned, no apology for the wait or explanation. It turned out all the tables were left uncleared, so he must have had to clear a table to seat us. The tables around us remained uncleared the whole of the time that we were there. My husband got his ice cream quickly but my son had to wait for his waffle and by the time my waffle eventually came my husband had almost finished and my son was halfway through his. When we’re paying nearly £30 for dessert and drink for three people, you expect to be able to enjoy it together. We had also paid for water but when we said that we hadn’t received it, we we’re given tap water! Obviously, we asked again and got the bottled water which we had paid for. There were lots of staff, all of whom were pleasant but none of them seemed to be in a hurry to serve or tidy the restaurant. It was disorganised, uncleaned and poor.

Popped in here, rather impulsively with my teenage daughter today. Greeted quickly, shown to a table & got told to order at the counter. It was quiet inside but shakes came quickly & were amazing. Had a bit of a wait for our cookie dough desserts but they didn't disappoint! Personally I couldn't fault the place. We will definitely be back. Not the cheapest place, but you wouldn't expect it to be.

We attended today.. waited 10 minutes for a table. Waitress stood and stared at us and said “do you want a table or something” then took us to a table which was filthy with sticky menus and used tissues on the table, then just walked away and left us and didn’t even wipe the table or give us any menus. She didn’t even tell us how to order etc. We waited over 30 mins for ice cream and then left us sat without spoons. We then had to ask for them and when we finally got them, 4 of them were dirty. We then went to use the toilet before leaving and there was urine on the seat and floor and no soap to wash our hands. We will NOT ever be going back. It’s run by people (approx. 16 years of age) who do not know costumer service or manners

My order was cancelled after 1 hour and 15 mins. If they had of let me know before hand I could collected instead they cancelled my at 10pm when the restaurant closes. Morons!

8 of us visited around 9pm, staff very helpful and even went out to get more strawberries from supermarket for us! Good, friendly service and the food was very good quality, tasty and well presented. Will definitely go back.

First visit to Kaspas. Definately better than other similar places in Cambridge.It’s pure sweet tooth overload with waffles, crepes a mountain of toppings and ice cream to go with it.The hot chocolates are lovely but could have been a bit hotter. Nice environment and good seating. My only comment would be you have to go up to the counter to order and the cake could do with more sauce. Otherwise a very nice place for dessert lovers.

My FAVE place to go. I literally want to order everything and bonus that they do NHS discount too! If im being really picky my only complaint is it can get a bit chilly when the A.C. is on but staff are more than happy to turn it off. Love this place so much

We popped in here after having a great lunch at a local pub and it was all a bit average. Good ice cream, shocking young clueless slow, staff though but it's to be expected somewhere like this. Might return, might not.

8 members of staff, 5 full tables, 10 empty ones... apprently that equals a 15 minute wait to be seated and a 20 minute wait on food... doesn't quite make sense to me.

We LOVE this place! We randomly came across it while in Bury. The portions are huge! I can’t finish it myself lol. Everything we got was on point and didn’t disappoint. Our first trip there we were a little confused, we didn’t know we had to go up to the counter too order. Other than that we loved the place.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon and only had to wait a few minutes for a table to become free and we were sat at a lovely clean table and were told how to order at the counter when ready, staff were all very friendly and joked with each other and the food was great and came out to us super quick. Cookie dough was amazing and my daughter was very happy with her hot choc sundae and husband was very full after having the crumble! Spent about £20 on 3 desserts and 2 cokes which seems like a good price, will definitely visit again soon.

After leaving our first pub we decided we fancied something sweet,so we went to kaspa's..Ordered our sweet's and drinks.all was very nice and was just what we wanted the cafe was not very busy and 3/4 was empty so we were surprised when we were told they were expecting us to leave as soon as our plates were taken,,the toilets were cordened off and we were supposed to take turns in using the 1 disabled toilet at the back of the cafe,,we decided not to as it did smell and was not plesant,,We will go somewhere else in future

This is a firm favourite with my children. We have visited this place a few times since opening. There's a lot of choice on the menus and the portion size is genorous

We have visited Kaspas prior to this, not long after it opened. We were impressed with the selection (although it is a little confusing) it’s not overly cheap but I guess the going rate. This visit we came with my daughter and her friend for a birthday treat. They were so busy and we had almost a 40 minute wait for food despite being seated on arrival, and I even had to go up to ask how long drinks would be as they didn’t come after about 15 minutes of ordering. They left an item off our order, I again went back to the counter to be told I didn’t order it?? To be fair they offered it for free as a gesture which was kind of them. I think they need more staff behind the counter making the food as the poor girl looked rushed off her feet and almost looked like she was going solo. I know this place is about desserts however I do think they are missing a trick by not having a few savoury items on the menu. Total for 4 of us drinks and food came to around £55 pounds.

Went as a birthday treat for those with a sweet tooth, lovely food and good coffee. Ice cream, waffles and crepes all with ice cream, yummy! Wanting just ice-cream, go for the sundaes! Milk shakes and good old fashioned coke floats to boot.

Don’t get me wrong, the waffle I had was lovely and I can’t wait to go back and try it again!!!

Visited with my husband and toddler. When we arrived were told there was no clean cutlery at the moment but it was being washed. I Ordered sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream meaning the proper ice cream but got that mr whippy crap! Also ordered a cup of tea but that never arrived. When we got the desserts there was no cutlery and had to ask 3 times before we got some at which point my toddler was going crazy and the ice cream was melting! When we did get it there were no spoons, I prefer not to eat ice cream with a knife and fork it was ridiculously overpriced at £18 for three desserts and one drink and it is definitely overrated, really wish I’d got a dessert at the supermarket for a fraction of the price! We won’t be back.

Visited for a family treat on a wet; windy and cold Saturday lunchtime. The menu is extensive and I found the staff to be helpful and the service to be quick. I had been told the service could be slow so was astounded how quickly we got our order after placing it

I’ve always loved the kaspas in Ipswich however when me and my boyfriend visited this store we were highly disappointed. The service was SO slow even though they had a empty restaurant, we then received dirty cutlery that still had food on from the previous person that had used it. To then FINALLY receive our food to find a hair! Absolutely awful. The staff were rude. And I will not be returning.

Wanted just to buy an ice-cream cone, at lunchtime on a busy market day. Only one table with customers, four uniformed staff present - but I stood at the ice-cream counter for 5 minutes without getting so much as an acknowledgement, let alone being served! With this lack of service, the place will probably fail (and probably deserves to)

Visited kaspas as a recommendation from a friend.. the service is seriously strange.. you choose desserts from a menu and then go to the till, order and pay and wait for your desserts.. the desserts arrived quickly but so overrated. The food tasted good but nothing special... The cutlery was disgusting.. covered in marks and dirt. I don't think we will be returning.

We came om a busy Saturday post lunch period for waffles and coffee. Cinnamon mocha was very sweet and the crepe had too much flour, so was hard. Peanut, choc and banana waffle was yummy staff all young and naive. Nb photo couldn't upload due to tripadvisor size limits..

Went this evening with family for a birthday. Arrived to a very strong smell of cleaning products.

We went to Kaspas this week as a family and throughly enjoyed our food. Service was extremely quick and staff were friendly, bubbly and polite. It’s the king of desserts for a reason. Highly recommend.

Went here for my other half sisters birthday and loved it i had the pancakes and a waffle as did not eat dinner before and was very nice no complaints on out table atall

Popped in for coffees and was pleasantly surprised by the lovely staff with their cheerful manner and good service.

We entered Kaspas with extremely high expectations after the long awaited opening. Having have only had the pancake and waffle shack close by, we were extremely happy by the opening of this desserts restaurant and had to make a trip here after all the hype.

Ordered a waffle with warm chocolate sauce, ice cream and a kinder beuno which cost £9.45. The waffle tasted like egg and there was barely any chocolate sauce, you literally couldn't even taste it. The ice cream which was meant to be gelato really wasn't up to scratch. Overall really disappointing when we thought we would treat ourselves but really just wasted our money. I wouldn't recommend at all and won't be back.

This is our 3rd visit to Kaspas in as many months. My daughter loves it & my son, on his 1st visit,thought it was good too. I like it as the desserts are so sweet & sickly as they should be. A good selection of crepes & waffles with every combination of toppings you could ask for. They also have a good choice of shakes, frappes & drinks.Portions are big & service is fairly quick. The tables have always been clean & tidy. But, why are the upstairs toilets always closed meaning everyone in the whole restaurant has to use the downstairs disabled toilet? And, why are the staff more cold & frosty than the desserts they serve? Please smile now & again.

2nd time we have been and both times the service is so slow. Today others who came after us got served first. Will not go again!

Kaspa’s was very good once we got in! We had to queue an hour for a table. Then had to wait around 40 minutes for food. The food was nice but service was slow!

Had to wait half an hour for two pancakes and it was bad customer service as had to wait a while for a table. Had to then rush our meal to get back to car even though we thought an hour would be plenty of time. Wouldn’t not recommend going on a Sunday.

As a half term treat, myself and mum took my daughters, aged 13 and 9 to Kaspa’s. We were not disappointed! I usually read reviews before visiting a place but I’m glad I didn’t on this occasion and went by recommendations from friends.

We were excited about trying Kaspas, a little treat for us. We arrived and waited to be seated which took 15 minutes. We order quite quickly as was advised waiting time was 30 minutes. Patiently waited 55 minutes for two waffles! which I’ll be honest tasted like raw batter.

Went into kaspas today with a friend and his little sister, it’s normally a good experience.

Visited Kaspas with my mum for a coffee and dessert. We waited 20 minutes for a table and when we were shown to the table it hadn’t yet been wiped down. When ordering I noticed a sign saying that any hot drink was £1 with any dessert, an offer I think is great. When I sat back down I noticed this offer hadn’t been applied. We went back and queried this and were told by one waitress that it couldn’t be refunded back because it had already gone through the till. We didn’t believe this was right so asked a manager. The manager said that the till doesn’t apply the offer automatically and we should have asked for it when ordering. This seems very strange- why advertise an offer if it is up to the customer to ask for it. The manager did eventually agree it was confusing and offered us the difference back.

Kept hanging round to be seated despite lots of staff

We took our 9 year old birthday boy and his little brother for a treat, it was the 1st time we had been. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, all delicious. Both boys are ASD, we have a booth in the corner and it worked well.

Afternoon treat after shopping. Good service, clean venue and delicious waffle. I ordered a waffle with maple syrup, cream and a dusting of cinnamon. It was served promptly while stiil warm and represented good value and tasted good.

Me my partner and my two year old have been to Colchester Kaspas many times and never been disappointed. We decided to try Bury Kaspas seeing as it’s closer to where we live, and we will never be going back. We were originally sat us on a table for two, them assuming my two year told was going to stay in her pram? 40 mins from ordering we get our desserts and mine and my daughters waffles tasted of fairy liquid so we ended up not eating them. On top of that the toilet was DISGUSTING to say the least, but when your two year olds got to go, they’ve got to go. All this was reported to a member of staff who just refunded us the waffles and didn’t really know what else to say about it. Staff are all very young and had very dirty uniform, were I assume they wiped their hands on themselves? Definitely not the service I expected from Kaspas, they were all a let down to the company name.

This was my first (and only) visit to Kaspa’s in BSE. The four of us went out for brunch (though it ended up being lunch) and we had one drink and one dessert each. It took 40 minutes just to get the drinks, and several more before we finally had our food. No cutlery though. We asked a member of staff (in a stained uniform) for cutlery and he went to get it for us.

25, 28 and two over 40’s dining on a Sunday lunch time. I can’t imagine having to entertain young children whilst waiting for their food.

Had a lovely meal with my partner great desserts and amazing service we had someone called Luke who made us feel very welcome will definitely be back again

Oh dear so much potential so much disappointment. Went in and was seated upstairs with small children even though there were tables downstairs. Had to take them back down to order at the till, although the cashier could not work the till nor understand the basics.

After walking past several times we finally decided to go as it looked good food.When we first walked it there was a strong smell of bleach but every table was filthy.We waited 15 mins to be seated while 5 members of staff stood doing nothing behind the counter.The table in front of us were eventually seated on a dirty table which was cleaned once they were sat down.Then it was our turn to be seated and we were told there was a 40 minute wait for food.So unfortunately we didn’t get to eat there.

Came here with the family and ordered 4 deserts. We waited 10 minutes to be seated and as no one came we then just decided to seat ourselves in the many spare seats available. Once we'd ordered we waited over 35 minutes until our food finally arrived and then had no cutlery to actually eat it with. When we asked for cutlery we got a rude response of well we usually give it out when you're seated. Also its really expensive for what it is especially with poor service. Won't return.

I’ve been a couple times now and I am very disappointed with the staff and the management here! Won’t be coming back until new staff are hired. Every time I’ve been the staff have been awful and rude. Not impressed

Been here twice now and I'm pleasantly surprised. Initially I didn't want to like this place, it's very Americanized and most of the people in there are teens to early twenties, which made me feel a bit old haha.

Will not be eating here again ever. Awful management, it’s an absolute joke. Can’t believe a restaurant can be run like this.

I came here with a few friends of mine and wow wasn’t expecting to have an amazing service, from the staff specially an girl called Lauren I believe she’s brunette. I will be coming again.

Went and visited the store on Saturday with a few friends, although the place was busy, The guy on floor let us know that there will be a little wait which was much appreciated. In fact all of our food was out my 20 minutes so not a long wait at all. The food was AMAZING. The staff was lovely, the lady on the till (I believe her name was Catrina) was fantastic and super helpful. Will defiantly be returning for some more deliciousness.

I took my wife and daughter here last night, as the both have a sweet tooth and of course, they deserve to be treated. I'm more of a savoury fan myself. However, it was fantastic! I had the Hazelnut Delight, which was loaded with my favourite, Ferrero Roche! So good! My wife had a Brownie Waffle, which was massive so I got some of the to, also great. My daughter had a double chocolate sundae, which she pretty much got through and had some of mums waffle.

Having previously visited successfully my last visit was terrible .Stock un packed in the way of main walk way can’t fathom why restaurant was empty .Had to seat myself again I mention it was empty .Waited 20 minutes for a latte and a Luke warm cookie dough .Disapointing to say the least..The place is filthy marks all over tiles .They need better aprons to keep them clean .Full aprons would be much better .The manager looks angry all the time and the whole staffing team look un happy .This place has the potential if run better

I would just like to inform you how dissapointed my 3 friends an I were when we rocked up at 9.29 to gorge ourselves on the tasty array of desserts. We spied the fine establishment from the upstairs of Edmundos in Bury St Edmunds and felt the deserts would complement our delicious meal. As we entered the girls behind the counter greeted us with a frosty glare, I asked if we had to order at the counter or could take a table, to which the response was "we are only serving take out now"

Poor service, staff wearing dirty uniforms. Food on floor, we waited 30 mins for 1 waffle. There were 6 complaints within the time we were there.

Excellent food - happy to wait for waffle and pancake as freshly cooked to order (waited less than 15 mins). Although busy, staff were friendly and organised and restaurant was very clean. Will visit again.

My husband and I brought our kids here as a Christmas Eve treat. We’d been past a few times but never been in, so we were keen to give it a try, the kids were beyond excited! As we walked in the first thing we noticed was a really pungent smell of disinfectant, which was quite off putting but the kids didn’t seem to notice, so we decided to stay, hoping the smell would die down a bit. Before ordering I took my son to the toilet and was disappointed to find the hand soap dispenser was empty, so we couldn’t wash our hands properly. I told a member of staff, who simply said “oh right”. My husband said it was the same case in the other toilet. No excuse really as it was only about midday. They clearly hadn’t been refilled from the day before. Likewise with the cleanliness of the place, really grubby. Floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned from the day before, lots of leaves and debris everywhere, especially on the stairs. From what I could see Kaspa’s is run by kids and most of them looked like they didn’t really want to be there! Not to mention the filthy uniform I noticed on one of them, looked like they’d been wiping their hands down either side of themselves all day yesterday and failed to put on a clean uniform that morning. I work in the food industry myself and notice things like this, really off putting. The food itself was really disappointing. My daughters sundae was all ice cream, barely any Oreo on there. Mine and my husbands waffles weren’t even warm, very dry and tasteless. And my sons pancake was as tough as old boots. I could’ve made better at home! Glad we visited to see what it was like, but we won’t be back. Has the potential to be a great place, but it needs someone to whip those kids into shape and give the place a damn good clean!

Came here in the evening as I do love the food here, but the service is just awful. It was quiet when we walked in, yet it took the staff a couple of minutes to acknowledge that we were waiting, even though they were stood around not doing much. When I went to order, I was stood at the till waiting for someone to come over and take the order, and the only staff member I could see was sitting down in one of the booths using her phone. She was still in uniform, so I would have thought she wasn’t on a break. I had to stand and stare at her for her to realise I was waiting to be served. She took my order and didn’t really say anything, other than how much the total was, not even a thank you or your food will be with you shortly. When I got my crepe, I had asked for cream, but instead I got ice cream. It was the same girl that took my order and I watched her make it as well, so she knew that I asked for cream. I wasn’t going to bother asking to change it because I knew I would have to wait. When we left, no staff thanked us or wished us an enjoyable evening. I have come before, and my overall opinion is that the food is good for people that have a sweet tooth like me, however all the staff are very young and have no experience in hospitality, or any interest in giving excellent service and being friendly to customers. None of them seem to want to work, and are very lazy. Management should have a rethink about who they’re hiring, and the type of people they want to represent the company, but to be honest, I’ve never seen a manager present whenever I’ve come here. Guarantee that none of the staff would know how to properly handle any complaints from customers, and probably wouldn’t even apologise!

Not sure about this place. We won't be returning but can see it being very popular. Slow to get seated, slow to take order, slow to return with food. Now this is where I might be daft. I knew it was primarily a waffle, cake and pancake type place but I would have really liked to see choices which included fruit. I'm sure there was one thinly sliced strawberry on my strawberry waffle. I know it's for people with extraordinary sweet teeth but a choice of something not so much so would have been appreciated. Having said that I devoured my waffle with great gusto but felt a bit queasy afterwards! My husband couldn't finish his pancake as he was beginning to feel the same. This place is definitely for people younger than us (not difficult) but it really won't be helping this country's obesity problem.
