The Lamb Vindaloo is absolutely beautiful well done guys!

Used to order from here a lot but starting to realise that their meat is not fresh and tastes like it has been cooked and left for days. Definitely lost a customer.

As always we enjoyed fabulous food and service from Jay, Vix and Forcan( forgive the spelling) and the chefs who deliver food at a consistently excellent standard. Once you find a favourite on the menu it’s difficult to move past it because it’s always brilliant.

First time we ordered from here, it was lovely and we would highly recommend.

Food nothing to write home about. Watered down dips for the poppadoms are always a good reference as to the quality of the food.

Delivery time was a bit long. And I ordered chicken tikka, I got some tandoori chicken instead. The yogurt sauce was all missing. :(

The highlight were the tandoori lamb chops. They were packed with flavour. The sour lamb dish was good, full of lemon and the meat was pretty good. Also had rice and poppadoms...no complaints with those. Good sound food.

Very disappointed with the food I ordered. Never ordering from this place again. Food does not even taste authentic. Very poor quality.

I've been a loyal customer for over 6 years and sadly I've watched it drop its standards over the past few. thought they just might need some time to recover from Covid, it's obviously not that. lamb curry was thin and watery with about 5 very small pieces of lamb... bought for two with many sides and it wasn't enough to feed my little boy, let alone help myself to a serving. used to be the best curry house for miles... disappointed to say the least

Ordered takeaway and would never again. We had the lamb Biriyani & there was a dead moth underneath the tabs on the side of the sauce so binned this instantly. Also ordered a Begum Bahar (chicken & mince dish) and it smelt of fish as soon as we opened it, when we tasted the chicken pieces they also tasted of fish so was 100% not fresh meat used & has given my partner food poisoning for the the last 24 hours. I didn’t eat it as I’m heavily pregnant and could honestly not stand the fish smell!! The naan bread came in a paper bag so by the time we received it was cold & hard & the oil from the fries was that bad it had ripped the paper bag they came in. Wouldn’t waste your time with this place.

There was a fly in our biriyani sauce & the begum Bahar tasted and smelt of fish? Couldn’t eat it & was definitely not fresh meat used. The roti was cold & hard by the time it arrived as it was in a brown bag rather than foil… first time ordering and definitely the last. Wouldn’t rate any stars

Very Small Portions, Kheema Naan arrived like a Pizza, Sauce was very Watery and low quality chicken. Would not recommend.

Kashmir Cottage for me was a disappointing dining experience. The curries are overly tangy, resembling tomato soup rather than the rich, flavorful curries one expects from an Indian restaurant. Additionally, the portion sizes are notably smaller particularly the delivery orders compared to other establishments, leaving diners feeling unsatisfied. Sadly, the tanginess of the curries renders them nearly inedible, making this one of the worst curry experiences I've encountered across countless Indian restaurants nationwide. While some starters lack flavor, the saving grace lies in the perfectly cooked Naan breads. However, it's unfortunate that this is the only highlight amidst an otherwise lackluster menu.

We are regular customers of Kashmir Cottage and have always had a lovely meal. We were arranging a party and asked them if they could provide external catering for us , It was the best decision we made! Not only did they provide fantastic food, but they delivered it’s well. All our guests commented on how wonderful the curry was and it was a really good price. Thank you, you did us proud !

Biryani is alright but the samosa chat was weird, has carrots sweetcorn’s and got a tomatoey sweet flavour

Disappointed in the food, prices have increased and the quality of food has decreased - butter chicken wasn't as sweet as it once was. Not sure if I'll order from here again which is disappointing seeming the butter chicken from here was the best I ever had.

Excellent food and service. Portion sizes were very generous. Food freshly cooked. My Aunt who is the fussiest person on the planet is a regular here you can't get a better endorsement than that.

I have lived in Bearwood for 2 years now and always my go to Indian restaurant is Kasmir Cottage Ordered today food arrived at my house and it was awful, korma was insipid, usually a thick creamy texture, naan breads were raw in the middle, pilau rice was basically a large clump of stodge. As I was v disappointed and a loyal customer I called them explained my issues and was greeted with someone I the phone who literally didn't care a jot. He has my money already and thats obviously all he is interested in! Nobody is perfect, a simple apology would have gone a long way but no, not even interested in that. Will not be going back under any circumstances, don't know if they have a new owner or chef but having memtioned how bad the food was in my local community Facebook group, instantly had more than 20 replies saying that they had similar experiences with the food from Kasmir Cottage and they too would not be going there again, all saying a similar thing 'used to be guaranteed great food' unfortunately not anymore Beware

The samosa chat did not contain any samosas and instead seemed like a cabbage salad with chana gravy. This is not an authentic samosa chat. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

Delicious! Consistently amazing, great flavours and good portions. Love it!

I always brought butter chicken from here but last few times it really wasn’t nice which is unfortunate, the orange/yellow stains your hand really bad due to the extortionate amount of food colour used, I really enjoyed their keema naan so credit where it’s due, I noticed they sell alcohol but say they cater for a halal diet so will not be buying from here again, alcohol and halal dietary does not mix :(

Food tasted good but £1 for a portion of poppadoms and you literally just get 1 poppadom and no sauces. If you order poppadoms in a restaurant I’d expect a shareable portion at the least. I also called to discuss this and they weren’t helpful

I ordered by uber eats and i am highly disappointed. This food is the worst food I’ve ever had. I order chicken biryani and what i got was rice with onions and few pieces of boneless chicken which taste horrible i payed 13 pound and this is what i got totally waste of money.And one other thing is that they are using excessive amount of food colouring. Not recommended at all😏

Where was the naan bread? Being quick is great but slow down a bit and check the order is correct.

Nans were the best I’ve had in Bham. Chicken Madras: preferred the Desi umff but it’s okay. Dhal was tasty. Best were the naan. Thank you.

Tried a take away as we've heard good things about this place and our usual curry house has lacked quality of late. We had chicken tikka masala and a tandoori butter chicken with a couple af garlic naans. Absolutely delicious! Coupled with very nice premises and staff, I think we've found a new curry house! UPDATE 5 of us visited this place again on 28th December '23 to dine in this time. We had sea bass, prawn tikka masala, butter chicken, myshroom baaji naans, fish pakora rice, all cooked well and tasted great! Staff are so friendly and welcoming too.

Superb food. Vegetable samosa was well spiced and crispy, sheekh kebab succulent and juicy, chicken shashlik flavoursome and with lovely sautéed vegetables, garlic naan very garlicky.

The food was spilled everywhere

An order was missing (the mango chutney to have with my poppadoms) sadly🥲 but overall great food and service 👍🏽 will definitely be ordering again! 💫Please can we have some Rubicon Mango on the drink list? 🙈

I ordered from here for the first time as the reviews said food was plentiful etc. However I paid 8.50 for a tiny container of lamb curry.. never had this from any other curry house I've used. Wouldn't mind but it wasn't exactly full with lamb either mostly sauce.. the sauce was pretty tasty but I wouldn't order again as we were left hungry!

We were there two ladies. We waited for our dish for an hour. Finally it was beautifully presented and lovely taste. But way to long to wait to be served.

BEWARE!! EXTREME Food colouring is being used by the restaurant. I ordered through ubereats and I received my order perfectly. However after I was done with my food, my hands were stained yellow orange from the butter chicken curry even after washing it multiple times! My nails are discoloured too. The amazing butter chicken everyone is raving about has a lot of food colour!! I have never seen such a red reshmi kebab anywhere!!! I have worked in multiple Indian restaurants and not even once my hands have been stained from the curry. There is a limit to use food color. Very very poor quality of food!

Up to their usual high standard. Great fish pakora but I wish they added Ajwain seed to the batter..it’s what makes pakora sing. Really nice basic lamb curry and the tandoori chicken was tasty and tender.

Food delivered very late, wasn't worth the wait

First thing the delivery driver apologised for being late. He was not very late. He explained about the traffic. I understand that road. Very nice man. Not a problem. I hardly noticed it was late. However when I shut the door the problems started. I took the brown paper food bag out of the plastic bag, and before I realised what was happening, my raita and the complimentary mint dip were all over the floor. The brown bag was wet and had split. I spent about 10 minutes cleaning before I could eat. Then the next complaint was the tandoori mixed grill. It said it contained king prawns. I was looking forward to this most. We received one seldom king prawn. That's all. It was mostly chicken that we got. The chicken tasted OK as in nice marinade, but was ruined my being quite dry. Baingan Bharta (aubergine) was the next course. This was just too spicey for us both to eat. Aubergine is my partners favourite, and I'm the one who likes things a bit spicey. However I found this vindaloo hot. It was just unpleasant. Bit of a waste of food and money. No warning about the hotness.

Please be careful with this shop, they have scam me and my friend. They cancelled our orders in uber eats without even contacting us and still charge us. I think they do not even prepare the food as both orders where cancelled very soon, so there was not enough time. I also called the shop and they told me that it was an international number so they cancelled without even messaging and that if I want my food I will have to pay again. So please be careful as I think they are proper scammers

butter chicken and cheese naan is the best combo EVER. delicious food, definitely the best south asian food in the area. only thing to bear in mind is that their delivery does take a long time, over an hour sometimes even though i live a 10 minute drive. i don’t mind too much but definitely order your food early

I Ordered from here last night and they messed up with the naan order and my friend is very ill from the methi gosht curry. If this level of carelessness continues we won’t be ordering from here again!!

The food was amazing! I’m usually nervous about ordering from new places but I was not disappointed. The Naans are amazing! The chicken pakoras were amazing! And the madras was amazing! All cooked properly and nice and hot when it arrived. Definitely will be ordering again!
