As always the food was excellent quality and it pains me to have to leave some negative feedback about a place I usually enjoy ordering from but the service was terrible - the courier clearly left much later than it was communicated via the app (food would've been stone cold otherwise), and when I followed up for an update I was given a very dismissive response and no apology or explanation.

Really underwhelming. Wings are decent. Butter chicken is poor. Mushroom pilau was meh.

I cannot think of a single good thing to say about the food. It was oily sweet and not at all authentic Pakistani food. Both the curries tasted exactly the same. Stay away from this Takeaway.

I’m vegan and when I’m in Bearwood this is the place I go. Service is great, the food is top- notch. They have a good menu and can make a lot of it vegan without it tasting sun-par. It’s not the atmosphere but no nonsense great food.

We have been ordering from Kashmir Cottage for over 10 years and I think they deserve a positive review. Their food has been consistently good over that time. We generally tend to order the same mainly vegetarian dishes and we have never been unsatisfied. But would vouch for the Tandoori Salmon if non veg is preference. Food arrives on time, is flavourful and the naan’s are always fresh and soft with a nice crisp in parts. There’s always a fresh crunchy salad too. The best takeaway option for Indian food in Bearwood.

There are no any flavours for food .Just not a simple salt and pepper seasoning.Do not order from here .Just a waste of money

£10 for a curry in a small container. Asked for no sauce with my Biryani, and a salad instead if possible. They didn’t give the curry sauce, OR the salad.

Good quality food but 'main' was a small portion like a side dish & mint sauce for 75p is tiny! I'm still a fairly regular customer though so must be doing something right.

Ive ordered a chicken tikka masala assuming it would be nice and spicy on taste because it was from an asian restaurant but the curry was sweet as if im having a desert . Pathetic taste the tandoori as well was sweet im mean how come u it can be sweet when i asked for a chicken tikka masala, the recipe as well says spices but there was nothing. The egg fried rice was dry with just 1/3 pf the egg in it. My whole experience was bad and i request for a refund for it.

Order from Uber eats, sorry don't like to give bad reviews, but the vindaloo was uneatable, just a burn, way to hot for a vindaloo and no flavour at all, the chips (fries) was just a handful of soggy mess, nam bread was small and rock hard, very small portions, maybe takeaway is not there thing.

My family and I regularly order from this establishment. I can honestly say it is one of the stand out curry houses in Birmingham. Every time we order it is exceptional and we are greeted by their friendly delivery drivers. If you are looking for a new place to tickle your tastebuds then this should be your first port of call.

As always, the absolute best curry in Brum - 10/10. I recommend the butter chicken dry fry, it is so so so good.

I’ve eaten from here before and it was great. Ordered Korma from here tonight and it was the blandest I’ve ever had, looked like chicken in cream. No yellow hint. No sweetness. No creaminess despite the appearance. It didn’t taste of anything at all. Obviously wasn’t expecting strong spice but I have never have curry taste of literally nothing. I’m sort of impressed. Other food here is good though. Peshwari was excellent.

£1 for one poppadom? With no sauce or anything. Massively overpriced! The lamb curry tasted nice but the pieces of lamb were so small I didn’t think there was anything in it at first. When I realised there were a few tiny pieces in there they were that small it was impossible to tell if it was actually lamb or what it was. Was a bit disappointing.

Ordered maybe 3 or 4 times through Uber & has been very good. Not so keen on the fries but the rest of the order very good.👍

I ordered my food on Uber eats. They sent me Uncooked chicken tikka also other dish doesn't have any taste in food. And mango lassi was bitter it's like they use expired ingredients to make it. Disappointed with their services.

I have to say this is one of the nicest places I've ever had. the only issue is that you don't get any complimentary poppadoms, salad or sauces with your order otherwise I would of ordered it.

As always we enjoyed fabulous food and service from Jay, Vix and Forcan( forgive the spelling) and the chefs who deliver food at a consistently excellent standard. Once you find a favourite on the menu it’s difficult to move past it because it’s always brilliant.

Best tikka masala in the West Midlands

The highlight were the tandoori lamb chops. They were packed with flavour. The sour lamb dish was good, full of lemon and the meat was pretty good. Also had rice and poppadoms...no complaints with those. Good sound food.

I've been a loyal customer for over 6 years and sadly I've watched it drop its standards over the past few. thought they just might need some time to recover from Covid, it's obviously not that. lamb curry was thin and watery with about 5 very small pieces of lamb... bought for two with many sides and it wasn't enough to feed my little boy, let alone help myself to a serving. used to be the best curry house for miles... disappointed to say the least

Ordered takeaway and would never again. We had the lamb Biriyani & there was a dead moth underneath the tabs on the side of the sauce so binned this instantly. Also ordered a Begum Bahar (chicken & mince dish) and it smelt of fish as soon as we opened it, when we tasted the chicken pieces they also tasted of fish so was 100% not fresh meat used & has given my partner food poisoning for the the last 24 hours. I didn’t eat it as I’m heavily pregnant and could honestly not stand the fish smell!! The naan bread came in a paper bag so by the time we received it was cold & hard & the oil from the fries was that bad it had ripped the paper bag they came in. Wouldn’t waste your time with this place.

There was a fly in our biriyani sauce & the begum Bahar tasted and smelt of fish? Couldn’t eat it & was definitely not fresh meat used. The roti was cold & hard by the time it arrived as it was in a brown bag rather than foil… first time ordering and definitely the last. Wouldn’t rate any stars

Very Small Portions, Kheema Naan arrived like a Pizza, Sauce was very Watery and low quality chicken. Would not recommend.

Kashmir Cottage for me was a disappointing dining experience. The curries are overly tangy, resembling tomato soup rather than the rich, flavorful curries one expects from an Indian restaurant. Additionally, the portion sizes are notably smaller particularly the delivery orders compared to other establishments, leaving diners feeling unsatisfied. Sadly, the tanginess of the curries renders them nearly inedible, making this one of the worst curry experiences I've encountered across countless Indian restaurants nationwide. While some starters lack flavor, the saving grace lies in the perfectly cooked Naan breads. However, it's unfortunate that this is the only highlight amidst an otherwise lackluster menu.

We are regular customers of Kashmir Cottage and have always had a lovely meal. We were arranging a party and asked them if they could provide external catering for us , It was the best decision we made! Not only did they provide fantastic food, but they delivered it’s well. All our guests commented on how wonderful the curry was and it was a really good price. Thank you, you did us proud !

Biryani is alright but the samosa chat was weird, has carrots sweetcorn’s and got a tomatoey sweet flavour

Disappointed in the food, prices have increased and the quality of food has decreased - butter chicken wasn't as sweet as it once was. Not sure if I'll order from here again which is disappointing seeming the butter chicken from here was the best I ever had.

I have lived in Bearwood for 2 years now and always my go to Indian restaurant is Kasmir Cottage Ordered today food arrived at my house and it was awful, korma was insipid, usually a thick creamy texture, naan breads were raw in the middle, pilau rice was basically a large clump of stodge. As I was v disappointed and a loyal customer I called them explained my issues and was greeted with someone I the phone who literally didn't care a jot. He has my money already and thats obviously all he is interested in! Nobody is perfect, a simple apology would have gone a long way but no, not even interested in that. Will not be going back under any circumstances, don't know if they have a new owner or chef but having memtioned how bad the food was in my local community Facebook group, instantly had more than 20 replies saying that they had similar experiences with the food from Kasmir Cottage and they too would not be going there again, all saying a similar thing 'used to be guaranteed great food' unfortunately not anymore Beware

The quality of the food was not satisfactory. There was excessive use of artificial colors in the dishes. I had ordered a vegetarian dish, but the gravy had a non-vegetarian smell. The samosa chat did not contain any samosas and instead seemed like a cabbage salad with chana gravy. This is not an authentic samosa chat. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
