I am so sorry I didn’t take more pictures. The food looked amazing and tasted absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend the khachapuri. We had the one with egg and it was luscious. We shared bread and four mains amongst three of us rather than starters and were stuffed but still finished with a pudding and vodka. The Ukrainian vodka was wonderfully smooth and the honey cake was just divine. The staff were super welcoming and really happy to advise and explain anything for us. They took care to be sure I understood the properties of the wine I chose since I was trying a very dry orange wine which I really appreciated and very much enjoyed with the rich food I chose. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough and I look forward to returning soon.

Always a fantastic experience at Kartuli. First class food: in particular, I love the dumplings, the simple cucumber and tomato salad, the pickles. I’ve been here maybe ten times now, and the service is always attentive and just lovely. It’s very reasonably priced and though there is nothing pretentious about Kartuli, it always feels that there is a bit of extra effort being made (cotton napkins, crystal wear laid out on tables, etc.) I would say this is my favourite local restaurant and would recommend it to anybody! My boyfriend and I love this special restaurant.

Food was very tasty and service lovely. One thing however is the ambience. Such beautiful and original decor spoilt by intensely bright lighting. If the lighting could be dimmed or even some candle light would make for a much better experience. Another table alongside actually commented on this as well. Please reduce the bright lights. Easily done and you might even save some money on electric.

We’ve been meaning to visit but haven’t made it before. We’ve now been for an evening meal and lunch. On a future lunch we’ll go for a flight of wines - 3 glasses seems a good amount for lunch for two. It’s not somewhere to eat regularly - it’s not cheap (two starters, two mains, a bottle of wine £148, lunch 2 starters, boat bread and two coffees £47). The liver starter and boat bread are our favourite dishes of what we’ve tried so far.

Really beautifully styled place, very classy décor. Got inside, place was freezing, we were even seated right beside the heater which wasn't turned on :/ I ordered a Megruli Kharcho, slow cooked beef in walnut sauce, at £15.50 which smelled so amazing when it came, unfortunately it was tasteless. I assume they are freezing meat and just adding it to the stew after making the stew. Such a shame because the smell truly was amazing. The owner (I assume) passed and asked how the food was and we mentioned this and he just acknowledged and went on. The non meat dishes we had were much better, Imeruli Khachapuri and Kartuli Special Salad.

Wow what a super, super place. Been meaning to go for ages and finally got there after a visit to East Dulwich Picture House. Really lovely little place with original tiles from when it was a grocers back in Victorian days. The service is wonderful, couldn't be nicer and more helpful. The food is quite superb, not huge portions but its so rich we were very full when we left. Its not cheap but neither is it expensive for this quality. We had a sharer to start so we could try different Georgian foods and then two main meals, both superb. My wife had two glasses of wine and I had the flight so I could try 3 different wines for £11 and then we had to share a dessert, large slice of Georgian honey cake. £112 including service. Great range of wines all Georgian if that's your thing. The toilets are really nice and the ladies even has some antique handbags on the wall. Highly recommended.

The foods pretty good but for the price it should be a lot better. Pork kebab was over cooked, small pot of £5 grilled vegetables were undercooked. It’s simple, tasty food but not worth the money.

Something different, Georgian food. Small restaurant in what was an old grocers shop. Much of the original decor remains including the name, David Greigg, on a huge glass display. The menu is interesting to us first timers. Some translation required. This is the sort of food to share. Plenty of veggie options. We shared a mezze of vegetarian pâtés/spreads and a stuffed aubergine roll (excellent). fried chicken livers (a bit overcooked for me but tasty) and a wonderful soft flat bread, merghuli khachapuri, with cheese and an egg. The main dishes were slow cooked beef and cheese corn bread, aubergine and green bean stew, mixed mushrooms and also a plate of grilled chicken. We all like dumplings. A plate of khinkali was ordered. These are substantial dumplings filled with a meat ball and broth, you take a bite from the top, drink the broth then eat the meat and dough. Apparently a legacy from Mongol invaders. All very good. We shared delicious honey cake and a bowl of pelamushi. The latter an acquired taste as none of us managed more than a teaspoon. There was a bit of food leftover which the friendly staff placed in individual pots to take away. We drank Georgian wines (there are no others on offer but there is en extensive list). Not surprisingly these suited the food perfectly. Please give Kartuli a try.

Absolutely loved our evening! Great tasting food (One of the tastiest meals out I have had for a while). I think it is worth highlighting how great the front of house team are (noting some recent reviews). This was a lovely dinner accompanied by some fantastic Georgian vino! Thank you all - looking forward to a return visit.

Restaurant located lower end of Lordship Lane, lots of side street parking and on bus routes. Interesting decor of an old butchers shop. Super friendly owner who gave great insight to Georgian history old and current. Having visited Georgia, the food is very authentic and great quality. Georgian wine is great quality and fantastically is available at takeaway retail prices as well as restaurant prices. Highly recommended for a great Georgian hospitality, food and wine experience.

Very interesting & under-rated museum which tells the fascinating story of the Brunels - father & son, their engineering feats & perseverance against the odds building this tunnel. I was so entranced, I bought the catalogue/book about it all, which I've now read.

I am a regular visitor of Borough Market in London. Last Saturday, we were very disappointed in the coffee that Maria's Market Café served. Their Americano Coffee tasted like dirty hot water. I complained and the café owner disputed that there was anything wrong with the taste. I requested refund and would simply leave. The owner initially refused. Then after 5 minutes of arguing he begrudgingly agreed to refund me. The crowing glory of terrible service was that my refund was given to me as a pile of loose change … later I realised that the owner shortchanged me by £1.00. I felt too disheartened to go back and demand the entire amount. I will never go back there again!
