Karen’s Diner in Sheffield

They insult us, they tell us that we are vegan, the food is very good.

Doesn’t exist at this address anymore.

Awful place staff are so rude and mean and eat your food they are extremely sarcastic and rude and throw the menus on the floor and was greeted it “yeah what do you want” avoid at all costs 🙄🙄🙄

Knew what to expect from the staff so that was all fine but disappointed with the food... very small portions and well overpriced for what you get so sadly wouldn't visit again

The irony of complaining about Karen's is not lost on me. Myself and my sister were really looking forward to coming before a concert, we had a good hour to kill before we needed to go so thought that would be no issue. We walked through the door and couldn't wait to be hurled with clever and sassy insults. However what we got was them grasping at straws to insult us, just "look at the state of these", nothing clever or funny like what you see in videos. One tried to take the piss out of my fluffy bag which should have been an easy insult as it is very extra but was just like "what is that?". Like tell me it looks like pubes, dead animal, anything imaginative! We then waited to be seated whilst servers (I guess intentionally) walked passed and ignored us - but they did this for 20 minutes!! 20 minutes of us stood there awkwardly waiting to be seated whilst bar staff just called us "states". As mentioned we had an hour which then was minimised to 40 minutes so we then cut our losses and went somewhere else. I feel like the actors at this Karen's need better improv tuition and a wider vocabulary of insults, and above all still need to actually provide some service and actually run a business.

It was horrible there are so rude to me and my friend I dint like. Anything there were swearing

There wasn't enough obscenity hurled at us 🤣. The food was really nice actually. Maybe the bread could have been better but the meat was delish. I forget the name of the spicy cocktail Karen chose for me, but it was one of the best I've ever had which was surprising for a diner.

We decided to give Karen's Diner a go for group booking of 13 for a lunchtime birthday treat. First impressions were that the actual restaurant location was a bit odd, and that the size of the interior was a lot smaller than expected, and smaller than most MacDonalds, KFC or Burger King outlets. The food was really tasty, and the portion sizes were good, however, the prices are higher than similar venues, and overall we didn't think it was value for money. Burgers range from £16 to £20, then the sides are £4.50, and a bowl of 14 chicken wings is £17!! The one excellent part of the experience is the staff. They are fully in character 100% of the time, and Fizzy who was assigned to us, was hilarious, rude, offensive, honest, direct, and very intelligent with equal measure. Her conversations with all members of the party were funny to hear, and her memory for names and things we'd mentioned meant she could return to conversations that had taken place 90 minutes before to add a new layer of insults, and make it even funnier. The staff try to involve diners in mini games, which our group were invested in, but there was another large group who were not bothered about being included, and I'm not sure they actually really wanted to be there, so that made some of the games fail. Once you've experienced Karen's once, there's nothing more to see, so it's not currently a place you would ever go back to, so they need to develop a way of attracting repeat business. To summarise: Strange location Restaurant too small Prices too high Atmosphere lacking due to other guests Food very tasty Amazing staff

Absolutely amazing and most hilarious experience. Such a funny way to spice up an eating out experience. Be prepared for any insult. Big shout out to Milo and Oly absolutely amazing hosts who made the experience a 10/10. The food exceeded expectations, as you don’t really go to here for the food, but it was really really nice. Would definitely say it is a good price and affordable for the experience you are getting. 100% recommend!

Food was ace. Banter just didn't really cut it as expected or advertised. Dude behind the bar just swore and was otherwise shouting, not particularly sharp or funny. Other service teams script, some of it funny, most of it was pretty average, heard worse off my 6 yo. Music was really loud, covered over some of the "banter" but was otherwise just obnoxious. Karen's Diner - Saved by the food which was good core American diner food! Tip to the chef. Service staff need to pull there weight.

We went here for my sons 14th birthday, please note if you child is in the slightest sensitive don’t go here with them!!. We had a good laugh they picked on the birthday boy a lot, poor kid!! He was a good sport though and took it on chin. Ethan even though he doesn’t work there 🤣 was a great host, good banter, games and music very interactive. (someone give that boy a job, will ya?) The Karen part - the food it’s ok don’t get me wrong but it’s only burgers and chips nothing to rave about 🤣🤣 and it’s very over priced! Over all fun but won’t be in a hurry to go back.

Not bad food. Just be prepared for any insults. i got told i’m punching above my weight with my husband it was an insult that has played on my mind as i’m not a very confident person. They may have been joking but it has upset me abit

A fun place to be, one of the staff was brilliant at her job, the other took it a bit to close to the bone with my daughter who has a chronic illness, shame as had been so looking forward to it. Food was nice a little overpriced though. Won't be going back, it was an experience

The food is actually really good and portion sizes decent! Its a good laugh but be prepared, the staff are really rude and will roast you all night. They had a couple of trainee guys on Friday night who were sassy and hilarious. Overall would definitely recommend for the food and experience!

Burger was good but over priced for what it was paying more for the experience I guess. Also a couple of things missed off our order. Not the sort of place for a date night 🤣

Went recently for our daughters 14th Birthday Party, we had wanted to go for a while, and it was a good reason to do so. Read up about the rules and made everyone aware want to expect and how to participate. As this is a themed restaurant, the staff is there to play a role and provide the atmosphere you are going there to experience. So be prepared so that you enjoy the experience. I Wasnt sure want to expect, but I have to say Fizzi, Miley & Just-in did their utmost to make the time there fun and memorable. All of them were great, top banter. With us all getting up to dance, some of our party had to sing, and whoever Bithday is was got the ability to stand up and get the attention they deserved as the whole restaurant sang to them. Great food. Again, it's dinner themed, so the menu is limited, but the chefs do well. Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment at the door. Sometimes, there's no cutlery at the table. If there isn't, they're happy to assist. Only criticism was the price of the soft drinks, which was expensive for just cans. Everything else was an entertaining joy. Would go again!.... Sorry, had to rate the service as low, but that's the whole point!!

Took my daughter LILY today for lunch at Karen's!! It was brilliant!!! Staff were fantastic and entertaining, food was delicious!! You must try the mozzerella sticks drizzled in honey!!! Laughter from start to finish!! Great experience! Highly recommend if not easily offended!!! lol

NOT what i expected!! I obviously knew the theme of the restaurant so was expecting the rudeness and insults but it was a bit too much in your face. Soon as we walked in, one of the staff jumped on my boyfriend and started on at him for vaping outside and bringing it in with him, then continued to insult us for sitting at the wrong table. I am in no way a prude, and I'm not easily offended, but one particular female member of staff took it way too far. I think it should have age restrictions as there were young children in there and the language is really not appropriate for them to listen to. NOT appropriate for people with special or additional needs. Tacky interior, more like a greasy spoon cafe. Food wasn't up to scratch, cooked nicer burgers from Iceland. Would NOT go again,

I haven’t been there but honestly i will never want to go. I will never be able to disrespect anyone for any job, i don’t care if is a joke. This is horrible. Why would anyone want to go and feel disrespected like i see those on TikTok. Sometimes those workers mean those words but you think it’s a joke. So stupid for something like this actually exists, it makes me sick.

Great food...service as expected, you are asked if you are aware of the concept as you enter, make sure you are or you're in for a shock, brilliant insults and banter, will go again...didn't catch the waitress name but she was definitely on form ..(.surname Robinson) well done!!

WORST Dining experience ever encountered If you dont enjoy being bullied or watching a member of your party being bullied then I suggest you don't go, it also appeared that the females where being bullied more than the males I found it to be sexist bullying my recommendation is DONT GO!!! After wanting to go for a while we finally got round to it and it did not disappoint. A laugh from the moment we walked in!! After reading reviews about the food was a little worried but we honestly thought the food was fantastic and spot on. The place was full of laughter and was really entertaining without it being offending.

Really enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was great, although maybe a little tense. Miley and Charlotte were awful- couldn't stand either of them.

I've never been here and never will need shutting down from what I've heard they are abusive and I'm being serious by the way.

This place is great! The food is OK if you like burgers and chicken wings, not a great deal of choice but tastes good but the staff are AMAZING!!! These guys are brilliant at what they do but beware this is not the place to go if you are easily offended, we had a great time there and would definitely recommend the experience and go back, definitely worth a visit.

Although I was very skeptical at first. I soon realised the attraction. The staff are hilarious and never drop their Karen attitudes the whole time, this is a very interesting experience. The food was very nice and the drinks were amazing.

Great experience, very different to traditional restaurants. They also put on performances for everyone in the restaurant and asked the audience to participate in them which was great. Zarah or Zoorah or whatever her name is especially made our visit great.

Certainly an experience. Dont go if you have kids as overpowering and don't go if you don't like being centre stage as nowhere to hide. Good food and a Ronseal venue.

Hilarious experience! Went as a surprise for my buddy's stag do and stitched him up with a 'Proud to be Vegan' tshirt. He was centre of attention for the entire stay. Excellent food served in great time with typically terrible service. A lot of fun!

Not my cup of tea didn’t even have coffee on the menu it’s supposed to be a diner the place was falling apart first visit by accident and certainly last but I suppose some may like that atmosphere and the final insult service charge that was talking the Piss

Had a absolutely fantastic time, the staff were rude as hell, like it supposed to be, very entertaining with games played throughout your meal, involving all dining, great experience. Will defo be returning. So much fun

Was a funny experience, Charlotte was very well in character and very funny, they all were to be fair lol being a vegy I knew I'd get some sort of reaction, and I did lol aside the fact that my partner was made to be a cow ha ha ha 6ft 4 man ha ha very funny ha ha even though they were rude, none of us took offence and we enjoyed the experience

Overall 10 out of 10, Really enjoyed our night at Karen's Diner, definitely recommend people to go here. You get so much abuse it's unreal. If anyone can take a bit of banter and a lot of swearing, it's for you. It isn't for the light-hearted people, lol

Ok as a one off but wouldn't go again. Food far too expensive for what you get. The experience was good but I want good value food, when I am going to eat somewhere.

Food is simple but it is nice. A bit over priced perhaps for what it is. We paid close to £100 for 3 burgers and a couple of extra sides. I think the whole Karen thing is a little over hyped if I am honest. Maybe takes the focus away from the fact it is not one of the smartest/cleanest restaurants you'll ever visit. An experience that now I've done it I will have no need to repeat.

The experience at Karen diner was amazing. We went for the birthday package which was good and make it a special. The banter was good from the get go Was so good never a dull moment. I would defo recommend it to anyone who that banter and defo not a quite meal #bluetack

Brilliant, entertaining, and funny. If you are easily offended, simply don't go or take kids under 16, unless you have headphones and a suitable gaming device. ***If taking an infant in a car seat with you, please make sure you book an extra seat with your group, unless you dont mind your little one on the floor.*** (which is not the best idea, being stashed under a table for the duration).

I knew I’d get grief from the staff for being a vegetarian (despite there being two veggie options on the menu) and they certainly delivered! The staff were a lot more chatty, open and honest than I expected, which was nice. The food was really tasty, and there was a fun atmosphere.

Really great fun - staff are rude (that's the point), there are mini games throughout with "volunteers" picked to play. Not a huge place, but that's a positive - you're all in this together! Food was fabulous - proper burgers!

Had an absolutely amazing time with my son for Fathers Day thanks to Lisa and her team, the food was great and the service was horrendously appalling so overall our experience was fantastic 10/10 You definitely need to go, just so you can say you've been and survived 😂😂

Quite a bizarre experience, the 'actors/waiting staff' very good indeed. Quite entertaining for a one off. Food is basic burgers and chips etc etc

I took my son here for his birthday! He was nagging me for months that he wanted to go! I was literally dreading to go..not my thing.. however on arrival it was funny AF staff are hilariously rude but not to the point of being personal .. I was turned literally no F@@ks given.. the cocktail was amazing I had a fair few cocktails.. and the food was delicious well worth money. Definitely going back sorry not sorry to the staff who have to put up with us AGAIN! This place isn’t for the faint hearted so be prepared for an onslaught.

Not impressed at all with my visit. Absolutely fuming with the service and the way we were treated. The female waitress starting picking on and insulted my disabled granddaughter which there was no need for. Secondly, the waitress purposely threw our meals on the floor and wouldn’t give us a refund. My granddaughter was left in tears after. Will definitely be reporting this restaurant for disrespectful behaviour. From my point of view stay away from this restaurant and go to somewhere like Frankie and Benny’s or TGI Friday’s where you’ll be treated with more respect
