Great addition to Starbeck High Street, Karen's is a small cafe serving a very wide variety of reasonable snacks and meals. We enjoyed our snacks and also had mugs of tea but were shocked to see it came with milk added. We prefer to add our own so milk jugs should be provided. Will call again when visiting the nearby swimming pool.

We were greeted with great kindness. We arrived at the closing time but immediately they starded to prepare our English breakfast. We were served in less than 10 minutes and the food was amazing. They were friendly and very welcoming. Various menu and low prices. We recommend it 100%. Mari&Fabio

Went here for breakfast whilst my car was in for servicing with my wife and new born baby. Service was with a smile and the food was very nice. Staff are very nice and they kept my food warm whilst I feed my baby and my wife was eating. Great selection menu as well.

I love this little cafe. I work within the special needs sector and I just love how this cafe interacts with my students. There's never any rush or impatience. Nothing too much bother and the wide range of food is just perfect to pop in and fill up the belly :)

At first glance it might look a bit like a typical 'greasy spoon' but look closer and this is a real find. Inside it is spotlessly clean and the service is friendly, polite and efficient - a difficult combination. It's only a small place nestled amongst take-aways, but a glance at the menu shows that this place is a cut above the rest. I've been in here twice now for a cooked breakfast, and have yet to try anything else. But because the breakfast is so good I will be back to try something else. The full cooked breakfast included all the normal items: eggs, sausages, bacon, black pudding, beans, tomato & toast. Why would you ever go to Wetherspoons? The breakfast here is bigger, better & cheaper. They also do sandwiches, burgers and salads etc. so I will be back. Excellent food, excellent service and excellent value.

This small cafe is one of the few sit in places that serve tea and coffee on Starbeck's High Street, I didn't eat there but did have a drink and used a table while meeting a colleague. Good points: + Sensible prices and portion sizes + Tables well spaced out, so customers aren't sat too close to one another Not so good points: - Table tops are a bit sticky, they just need a decent surface cleaner and wiping dry afterwards

The missus had a pannini which looked great and she said tasted excellent. I had the Ultimate breakfast, That's first class. That is superb! Minor criticism, more distance between the eggs and the beans. I may want to mix them, but I want that to be my decision.

This place is friendly, clean and staff are very helpful. The team do a great job! The 'Full English' is not to be missed and with free tea/coffee refills it's a no-brainer! Well worth a visit! I've become a regular! :-D

Ignoring the "bistro" in the name (I simply can't see the point of it) I would describe this as a very good local British cafe. It is clean and bright; the service is friendly and efficient; the food is very tasty and it is reasonably priced.Rather than a simple bacon roll I decided to treat myself to a full breakfast this morning and it was both tasty and filling. The tea was also good and was served in a nice looking, new, good-sized mug - as opposed to the shoddy selection of mugs and cups many other cafes use.The cafe is clearly popular for both eat in and takeaway trade - and rightly so. It's very good.

The staff are great. They accommodated our new baby and made sure we had room for the pram. The food is the best quality whenever we come. Every time we come it makes me think why we didn't eat there before this year!.

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.
