Found this restaurant after online searching as needed somewhere to eat before a gig. It’s tucked away in Market Row, which we found without too much difficulty. The menu isn’t huge but the choices are good and it doesn’t do Sushi which is great for me. My daughter and I shared a starter, then she had Chicken Ramen and I had chicken katsu curry for mains. Both were delicious. Only 2 choices of bottled beer but they’re both good. The service was excellent and friendly and we loved it. We’ll define return.

Very reasonably priced authentic, Japanese food. Vegan and gluten-free options are available. Everything has a lot of flavour and seems pretty healthy if you avoid the deep fried stuff! Pumpkin croquettes are yummy.

My partner and I had eaten at this restaurant several times. We like it very much. The inside is cosy with Japanese prints on the walls and little origami paper birds hanging from the ceiling. Our favourite dishes included Takoyaki (octopus dumplings), Tempura prawns, Pork Gyoza (dumplings) and the various fruity curries.

I was invited here was a wedding reception. I thought it was an odd choice as I have eaten her lots of times before but, strangely, it ended up a wonderful experience. The bride was Asian, which may have influenced the choice. The food was served as finger portions, but reflected the main menu (eg chicken karaage, prawn tempura and, for the veggies, small dishes of tofu). It all tasted delicious and everyone seemed very happy to try the various dishes, many of them for the first time. The restaurant even managed to look "weddingy" with flowers on the tables.

I popped in here impromptu for light dinner on the go. The interiors are horrible "stuck in 1990s TV DYI hell", lighting way too bright, so I chose to sit outside instead, overlooking market buyers rushing past. Much more pleasant , especially little shop/eatery next door had fresh flowers, and in comparison super cosy (that's it in the photo). Miso soup was salty but tasty. I ordered ouzo prawns starter, a rather bland affair with 2 prawns out of 4 badly overcooked. I opted for miso salmon for main, after some not nice pushing from Spanish waiter (the only serving staff in the whole place) that I order miso salmon salad, which I tried to continuously explain to him was not what I wanted, pointing repeatedly at menu picture of the very same miso salmon served just with green beans (small number, but nevertheless preferred to strange salad with tomatoes!) The miso salmon was excellent! Perfectly cooked, soft red in the middle, tasty affair. The aforementioned waiter forgot I exist the moment he brought out the salmon. Not once in 25-30 min, since he last graced me with his presence, did he came out of the door to inquire how things were, not even to ask if I wanted the bill. I had to pack up and go inside to haunt him for the bill. They took the liberty to add the service charge, which I paid as was tired and just wanted to get on, but shouldn't have. With small water the total bill came to £19. For what it is, not cheap but not bad, not sure if I will be back just for that £10 slice of miso salmon...

A small place near the market, quite quiet and cosy. The service is relatively fast and the food is good, simple but tasty.

If I have to judge this place on the food, the food was great, very inventive and very well presented. The wine and sake list was to die for. But the rest of the experience was a bit disappointing. The place at yeh beginning looked nice, like you are suddenly projected into Japan, but then looks like it is an area with other restaurants pop up and you could hear from our table the noise from the other places, also the toilette were shares with other places and when I used them there was a flooding going on, not great. I thought that the services was too rushed, I think we had the 6 courses in like 45 mins top. I couldn’t put my glass down that they would have refilled after one second..I didn’t find the pace relaxing. The price overall was 280 for 2 people, probably a touch too expensive overall, and I have to be honest I was still hungry when I left the restaurant.

Don’t accept the small tables in the middle, as you will end up guessing what you're eating.

We recently hired a sushi chef, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the first course to the last, every dish was a work of art—both in presentation and flavor. The chef's skills and attention to detail were immediately evident, as was his dedication to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. His ability to engage with guests and make them feel part of the culinary experience added a unique, personal touch. Hiring this sushi chef was one of the best decisions we made, and we highly recommend his services for anyone looking to elevate their dining event. Truly exceptional!
