We booked a table here as we were staying in the Hotel but have eaten at most of the other restaurants in The Ned. We were seated at a table which was preferable to sitting at the bar area. Service was great and the food wonderful. We had prawns and spring rolls to start, then the duck with pancakes, I had the salmon teriyaki and my husband the pork with broccoli and sticky rice. Perfect sized portions. Would thoroughly recommend a visit here. Really enjoyed our dinner.

Fabulous lunch here. I was a little nervous after reading some reviews, but we were seated on time, and given a choice to sit at tables or the bar. The guy who served us was efficient and guided us on the menu. The food was excellent. Every dish was delicious and we enjoyed such a range of flavours. Definitely one of the best restaurants of this year and we’re keen to book another meal here soon.

Fabulous Asian restaurant. Highly recommend it. Food is amazing. Could barely move afterwards as had the premium brunch and it was so filling and tasty. Lovely setting. Great staff. Will go again.

Stopped off at The Nickel bar in The Ned for a few drinks and decided to stay for dinner. Haven't ate in the asain restaurant so decided to try. So pleased we did. The restaurant was very quiet for a Monday night at 7pm but within the blink of an eye it started to get busier, creating a nice but still relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly but Demetrius and his service was fabulous. Food was excellent. We ordered a selection of starters, mains and sides and opted for them all to be served at the same time. Managed to eat everything with our chopsticks and didn't have to ask for cutlery! Really enjoyed our visit and hope to return again.

I visited in June with my other half, before dinning at Kaia we had a quick drink at the main bar, which I would recommend. The live music was brilliant. The meal at Kaia was the tasting menu served between 12 and 1.We had an excellent and very unique experience. We sat at the chiefs table and each dish was explained and handed directly to us. The food was very tradtional, presented well and tasted so good. I would recommend, especially to sushi lovers.

The Kai’s was great. Busy for a Saturday night but what you’d expect for London. Gabriel was amazing he explained all the dishes to us and answered all our questions. Warm and friendly and even taught me how to use chopsticks. The food was top quality and very fresh. You can choose from sushi to the other warm dishes “snacks” or platters. Great concept if you like sharing. The other restaurants looked nice too. Cecconies and the main grill weren’t right by the music so if you don’t like loud jazz I’d avoid that one. Cecconies was lovely for a drink though after our meal at the outer seats. The staff were all very lovely and helpful.

My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch at Kaia. We arrived early and were given the choice of which ever table we fancied which was really nice. The food was delicious, we both opted for a poke bowl (one tuna, one rainbow) with a side order of the Agedashi Tofu and Pork Yakitori - all beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The service was really good, we never felt rushed and although the restaurant was not over busy when we dined, there was a really nice vibe with the addition of being able to hear the musicians that were playing elsewhere in the building in the background. My only negative point would be that it was a shame the house press juice I ordered came in a plastic bottle, so was it actually "house pressed" or from another supplier? At £6 I would have expected different. I would definitely recommend dining at Kaia.

Came to Kaia for a mid-week lunch with my husband. We were seated quickly our orders taken quickly too. The food was disappointing. We asked that the food comes as it’s ready, so the sweet potato fries arrived a few minutes later solo…. Bit odd as it’s clearly a side to a main but okay…. We had sushi, it was good but not great. The main chicken dish was completely bland and unexciting. The tartare was pretty good. Overall the bill was expensive at £150 (inc 2 glasses of champagne) so an expensive mid week treat. Upon being seated we were told we had the table for 90 minutes. We finished and paid after an hour and were then told other guests had arrived and we needed to leave! I told the waitress we’d remain seated for another ten minutes since we still had 30 minutes left and reminded them they had told us so to begin with. What kind of service is it to throw patrons out as soon as they have paid?! Overall, don’t waste your money. The experience is poor, bar seating for lunch with a lamp in between you and blocking your vision is not a great way to spend £150. If the food was 5* it might just be worth a return visit however it is completely unremarkable and thus easily forgotten.

I attempted to get a table mid-week at this restaurant for date night with my husband. We walked in at 5.30pm, and the place was empty. A disinterested waitress told us we could have a table for max 1 hour, and sat us at the bench in the middle of an empty restaurant. When I asked if we could have a normal table she said they were busy and had a lot of requests for low tables. After sitting down and failing to get anyone’s attention (there was plenty of staff, they were open) we left and got a lovely table with no time limit in Cecconis next door. When we left almost 2 hours later they were still half empty. Someone needs to help their manageress plan tables better and that when it comes to customer service that ‘a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush’. Won’t try again.

Average Japanese (or Asian) food. Setting (The Ned) is nice but the food lack texture, taste or quality. Hawaiian chicken was undercooked. Tenderstem broccoli from robata (grill) was lukewarm when served and I doubt it’s actually been cooked on a grill.

The Ned in itself is beautiful, always enjoy visiting. This was our first time at Kaia and the food was scrumptious, I think its up there with the best sushi I've ever had. Staff were attentive and they also assisted with a birthday dessert request for my friend. Can't fault the experience and highly recommended. However I must note we had an early dinner at 5pm before the rush, which may have also played a part in the above :)

Visited Kaia for a catch up with friends and it was my first visit to Kaia. I enjoy The Ned so was aware of how loud and busy it can get, so asked for a table rather than sitting at the old bar seats. Fortunately, it was really sunny that evening so lots of people had obviously chosen to go to outdoor venues, meaning it was relatively quiet and the noise level was lower than normal - helpful for a catch up. One thing I really disliked about my experience at Kaia is how rushed the staff make you feel. You have 90 minutes at your table (not long to eat and chat really) and they are keen to hurry you along to order drinks and food. As soon as you eat something, they take the plate away without asking. We ordered a few sharing bits - the shredded duck, miso aubergine, kimchi and some sushi. All was tasty (particularly the miso aubergine) but it really is nothing special and it underwhelms you. I think for the price tag you do expect a little more. All in all, it was a nice meal but it’s not nice to feel rushed by the staff and you do expect a little more when you’re paying a reasonably high bill.

Kaia at the Ned Won’t be rushing back in a hurry! The Ned is a pretty cool place, great atmosphere, great choice of food & drink .. always a pleasure to visit. However, a recent trip to Kaia at the Ned wasn’t the best. Kaia is an Asian-Pacific inspired restaurant specialising in healthy dishes, priding itself on its range of poke bowls & mains from the grill. We opted for the ‘Ozara’ which included, steamed dumplings, crispy prawns, asparagus, Korean spiced lamb, black cod & wagyu sirloin .. Plus a few other bits from the smaller plates menu. With a price tag of £85 for the Ozara, I expected a bit more. The wagyu was in my opinion a bit over cooked and more than the advertised medium rare. The dumplings were nothing beyond what you would expect from your standard Asian takeaway and the only saving grace was really the black cod which was cooked to perfection & was the only thing leaving you wanting more. On top of the mediocre food I had a nightmare with the staff who appeared only to care about how long you took to eat your food. Everything was brought out in a rush, then staff would be visiting every minute to see if there was anything else needed, however this made you feel rushed & cautious if the 1.5 hour time limit. Further to this I was told that there was no seating & only bench seating available which was ideal sitting at what can only be described as a raised breakfast bar with high seated bar stools. Overall not a great experience, price tag wasn’t warranted & you’d be better if going to Roka which says a lot! Overall: ** Food: ** Service: *** Price: ££££

My wife and I visited this The Ned Kaia Asian restaurant. We arrived 10 minutes early and was shown to our table, where we were told that we had one hour and 30 minutes to vacate the table. We looked through the menu and selected three starters, the duck and plum sauce, and two mains. The starters and the duck all arrived within a few moments. We had our starters whilst the duck was going cold, where we then moved on to this. The duck was already shredded for you so we put together our pancakes. After taking a bite I had small bone in my mouth. If it was not embarrassing enough to remove this discreetly, the stools are that close together & packed in that you are doing this in front of a complete stranger. We then moved onto the main course where the pork was very very fatty. We paid our bill and left to have a drink in the bar. We walked around the bar a couple of times to try and find somewhere to sit. We come across six barstools completely empty where we asked a waitress if we could sit on them. We were asked if we had been staying at the hotel, where we replied we were not, but we had just spent £150 at the Asian restaurant. We were told that we could not sit at these stools and instead we had to find a table. Eventually we found somewhere to sit and we ordered two drinks with a waitress. We waited 20 minutes where no drinks had arrived, so we then asked another waitress (who was pouring water into a glass on our table for us) if our order was on its way. After 10 minutes the second waitress walked past where we made eye contact and told us the drinks were just coming. We waited a further 10 minutes of waiting, we left. Once again it appears that customer service lets down an establishment. It’s a shame that we just don’t seem to have it in this country.

The sunken table area is quite cool downstairs but we sat at a normal table. The atmosphere was super off with it being dead quiet with no music. Just an awkward atmosphere. The salmon sashimi was really good, super fresh! I had a rice bowl with steak as my main and it was just okay- it was pretty bland and could’ve done with a sauce, there was just so so much pickled ginger as well, it would’ve been nice to have some other veg. The waitress was amazing, super lovely and she was concerned when we left loads of food at the end but we were just so full!

Amazing food as always. Service was great but feels like could be made better with attentiveness and better order taking process. Love the terrace and the setting on a sunny day, can’t wait for it to open indoor.
