Sticks'N'Sushi Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

On a busy afternoon this place was the only one that looked pretty empty so I decided to try. One of the waitresses walked me in and tried to offer me a table but the manager told her to bring me elsewhere because I was alone. I was brought to a super low small awkward table right in front of the stairs. As I was exhausted and starving, I thought all tables and bar areas were reserved so I stuck to the spot. I ordered a platter and set, the food was cold and not tasty, the seat was extremely uncomfortable as well. Super disappointed, worst place to get sushi etc, discriminates solo diners. This just accentuates solo diners struggles, either being refused or taken to a super odd table.

We went here for a pre theatre dinner. Food was quick, beautifully presented and delicious. We ordered a few new non sushi dishes too, and ended up ordering a second plate of karaage chicken as it was so good!

The sushi was great. The service was lacking. We waited over 15 minutes before we could order drinks. When we wanted to order additional rolls no server would come to the table. The food and presentation was good, but the service and experience wasn’t worth it.

The food was fantastic, as always, but Wendy truly stood out as an incredible host. She was warm, attentive, and made sure everyone at our table—both vegetarians and non-vegetarians—was well taken care of. Thank you, Wendy! I truly appreciate you.

The food 10/10. The cocktails are delicious, and the waiters are very attentive. It is expensive but worth it for the quality. The only bad thing is that there is very little light, they should put more light because you can hardly read the letter. Otherwise great.

The food was delicious, the service was amazing and very fast, and we had an amazing time. The only thing was the tables are quite close together and the men at the table next to us kept looking over and listening to our conversation... And we heard them talking too...

Sticks and sushi Covent Garden. Although the word chain has negative connotations as it can convey the potential lack of quality, personal service and - continuous cost cutting…. This venue did not present one thing to suggest - chain. We ate at the bar next to the pass as every table was covered - mobbed. The energy and business from the kitchen whilst remaining composed was very insightful. A we’ll oiled machine comes to mind. Can’t wait to return, too many flavours and dishes to go into each plate however a solid dining experience.

Came here for an early dinner and had the most delicious meal. We opted for a range of the small plates and all were very yummy and tasted fresh. Food was quick without feeling rushed.

The food is excellent, the sticks aspect can feel a bit gimmicky but I've always really enjoyed everything I've eaten, and there's a great selection of cocktails as well

My first time trying sushi n sticks (and sushi in general 😅) was at the Canary Wharf branch. Loved it so much that I then dragged my husband to the Covent Garden branch the following week and he loved it too! Absolute must try apart from the sushi itself are: Crab croquettes and everything on the stick if possible!!

We're not very experienced when it comes to ordering sushi but the waitress was very helpful and guided us through the 'catalogue' of options. And she was bang on! Every dish presented beautifully; a sight to behold and a safari of flavours on the palette. There was a nice friendly atmosphere between staff and customers and we felt very relaxed and comfortable-the wine probably helped.

Delicious food - my favourite sushi chain restaurant. However, this branch feels quite crammed in comparison to the Soho and Canary Wharf branches,and the dim lighting in the evening can feel especially disorienting in conjunction with the cacophony of chatter.

Brilliant food, amazing taste. I am not a big sushi fan but was blown away by the taste. The sticks with various grilled meats were also delicious. Highly recommend the wagyu, prawn and crab croquette.

Absolutely the finest sushi I've ever had. While it's certainly not inexpensive, it's worth every penny. The artistry is simply breathtaking. My mother-in-law was in raptures

Very nice discovery for the 4 of us (adults and children) lots of choice of products and above all excellent we had a great time. On the advice of a very nice waiter we tried the crab croquettes!!! A killing!!! The staff is also very friendly. We left delighted, thank you very much

Great drinks and a killer Hell's Kitchen roll 🔥 Very expansive, saliva-inducing menu makes picking just a few items quite a difficult task!

We turned up with a hungry toddler and a baby in buggy and they accommodated us so well. The kids menu is amazing, healthy vegetables and yummy sushi! The staff were absolutely brilliant, we will be back!

Nice restaurant with good vibes and a nice ambience. A wide variety of items on the menu and a lot of different choices. A wide selection of vegetarian items are also available. The staff are also very cognizant of dietary needs which was nice to see! Was a bit dark in the restaurant and the seats were a bit uncomfortable.

Perfect place to dine in pre-show!

The staff were friendly when I visited, and the food was nice. However it wasn’t the tastiest sushi I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had better elsewhere. It was also unbearably hot in the restaurant, likely due to how many tables they had packed into quite a narrow space. It made the meal quite unpleasant.

Outstanding food, as always. I haven't been to sticks n Sushi in a while and it is such a treat. Truly, some of the best sushi ever. The beef tataki was splendid! I shared one of the platters (the name evades me) with my dad and it was phenomenal. It is definitely worth the price. Really friendly staff, and I appreciated (as someone who works in hospitality) the effort made by the waiters to present the dish and list all the components in an elegant way when serving it to you. Pictured is the matcha chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream.

Great food , fresh and very quixk service. Superb menu and flavours across the selection of fish and meats on the sticks. Very busy , yet they found us a table quickly.

The food was really good. But that about it. We were seated downstairs at the counter where you can't even see anything and it was very cramped. I had prebooked this place and they couldnt even accommodate us by giving us a nice table. People were walking in with no booking and they gave them a table. Very disappointed. Not going to return to this place anytime soon. Shame as the food was really good.

My favorite sushi spot in the perfect location! The restaurant is very spacious, and we were lucky to find a table without a reservation on a Sunday. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and made sure to check in throughout to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Highly recommend!

I have always recommended Sticks n Sushi to friends, but after a recent visit I won't be again. I arrived before my friends, ordered a glass of fizz and asked for a jug of tap water for the table. My drink arrived but I had to ask four times before any water arrived - which was then only a small glass. The server told me that if I want a jug /carafe they charge £1.50 per person as it is filtered, but a glass of tap water is free. My friends arrived and the waiter bought towels on plate, which he handed to us using tongs. The towels were stone cold! These are supposed to be steaming hot! He didn't know what to say. My friend asked for some hot ones, but they never came. Serving customers cold towels on arrival is embarrassing for everyone - don't serve them if they are cold! The food was ok, average - it used to be delicious but that is a personal opinion. I think a good indicator of quality are the basics. Even the edamame were disappointing - tired, a bit brown in places and deflated. On the plus side, the waiting staff are polite and the atmosphere is good.

They make you pay and extra per person, and is not the savoy. The new people have a very embarrassing t-shirt showing that they are new. The politics and principles moral and values of this place are totally wrong and food and place overrated. I’m not Coming back anymore

Very good quality sushi in Covent Garden, London

Located a stone throw away from the Piazza in Covent Garden. The restaurants over two floors with the ground level for Henrietta Street being quite large seating with high volume noise we were a party of three, initially they attempted to seated us in a odd table which looked like a Benz sign with the ends of the table seating three with two other parties on the other two ends, which we declined due to it being a work event and being able to converse; subsequently was moved to a table for four, which was much more appropriate. The wine selection had significant markup and therefore the quality of wine was pretty much average. Service was rather had a mess because of the busyness of the restaurant which and which was surprising for Tuesday night the food was however good we ordered a platter for three was called set for success: Broccoli. Grilled in supreme soy, served with spicy goma:good Ebi Bites. Tempura shrimp, miso aïoli, chilli, lime & coriande: good Shake Tataki. Salmon, sake-tamari marinated trout roe, daikon, miso, ponzu & daikon cress : average Beef Tataki. Beef fillet with miso aïoli, spring onion, artichoke chips, shiitake & truffle ponzu: good Ebi Panko. Tempura shrimp & spicy sauce, topped with avocado: good Hell's Kitchen. Tempura shrimp, avocado & spicy sauce, topped with tuna & barbecue: good Pink Alaska. Salmon, avocado, cream cheese & lumpfish roe : average Nanban. Chicken, avocado, kataifi, coriander & spicy yuzu-kosho : average Aka Ebi. Argentinian red shrimp, spicy gochujang & garlic butter Tsukune Chilli. Chicken meatballs, chilli dip, teriyaki & spring onions; good Ibericoe Secreto. Miso cured black Iberian pork with lemon: excellent So a rather mixed selection of mostly being above average but really one dish being excellent. I would recommend booking due to the business of the place however I do feel that it’s probably not the best suited place for conversations due to the substantial background noise.

Absolutely terrible service! Took almost an hour to get food no one checks on you then they have the audacity to overcharge you for condiments. If you want to feel invisible while eating mediocre food and be treated like trash this is the place to go. No thank you!

Visited Sushi Samba Covent Garden for the first time to try their Pre-Theatre Menu before heading off to the Savoy—perfect timing for a festive evening out! 🎭✨ The Christmas decorations were absolutely adorable. Outside seating was cozy with heaters and blankets, making it ideal if you fancied a pre-dinner drink. 🍸 Upstairs, there’s another bar area if you want to keep the night going. The food? Nice, but I’ll be honest—it didn’t quite hit the same heights as the Liverpool Street location. That might be down to the Pre-Theatre Menu, though. My Tuna Seviche starter was good with its pomegranate leche de tigre and basil, though the wasabi peas weren’t for me. My second course, the California Rolls, was nice but nothing extraordinary. Visited Covent Gardens branch last night with a couple of mates (one had a gluten intolerance). I ordered a £95 platter for two and the rest ordered a variety of dishes. Server came out with the first batch of food/dishes and gave it to the guest with gluten intolerance as it had gluten free soya sauce and gluten free items and didn’t want to mix things up and she proceeded to eat whilst the rest of us waited for ours. As dishes arrived at the table they kindly pointed out whose dishes were theirs. So the rest of us started to eat and enjoy our food. When I asked the server where my beef teriyaki dish was he said he’d go and find out. Came back out and said they made a mistake and gave it to the gluten intolerant person. I said that’s not great as she’s gluten intolerant and she got a normal dish which she subsequently ate but now I’m a dish down. He graciously tells me that I would need to pay for that if I still want it over and above the hefty £95 price tag??? I said but it wasn’t my fault or her fault for eating it as this was specifically given to her by server. He flat out declined so I left it there as I did not want to make a scene in front of my mates. The situation was handled badly at the very least and it would’ve gone a long way with me if they had just brought me the replacement dish which I did not get to enjoy/eat.

Our server was one of the best around all she served us very well. Her name was Rosani she give us all the information about the food..

Eating sushi in Sticks'nSushi restaurant was a truly enjoyable and unique experience. The combination of fresh, high-quality fish and rice, coupled with the traditional Japanese presentation, made for a delightful meal. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the sushi chef took great care in preparing each piece of sushi. Plus, there's something satisfying about trying different types of sushi and dipping it into soy sauce and wasabi. Plus. A glass of Sake.

😊 wanted vey much to give 5 star after all this is my favorite Japanese restaurant in London and I visit on any occasion when I am in London My favorites are the wagyu beef 🥩 dishes Sushi good as well Service is friendly and welcoming but a bit confused 😌 I did not get my slices of wagyu 👀 which I come specifically Teriyaki arrives late , table stays not clean 😊 despite criticizing still my preferred restaurant and will come on next occasion

I visited Stick & Sushi in Covent Garden last Friday, and I had a last-minute request that Sergio, the person in charge, kindly accommodated. Not only did he provide exceptional service to me and my guests, but he also went the extra mile to ensure our evening was unforgettable. The food was, as always, excellent, and our server (apologies if I misspelled the name) Wuanapa took our experience to another level with her attentive service. Visited at the end of October. Food and service was great, however, while eating, the door was fully open, as people queued to get a table, which meant that the restaurant was freezing. Won't be going back.
