Can't help wondering how long this place has been open, but I've been coming here for about 40 years. Basic cafe, excellent food at a really good price and friendly staff... Just the way I like it. This place really is a hidden treasure. Try the naan kebab sandwich or the lamb curry and rice. And a nice big mug of tea.

One of the very few outlets which offers authentic and tasty kebabs and curries. The food is amazing and comes at a very low cost (1 person can have a good portion of meal at £8). The place was busy with customers (during afternoon hours) and service was very fast. Worth the try.

Best place for curry in city centre

this has become my weekly staple with my son, lovely freshly cooked food, does get very busy.. but once you have tried it you will understand the fuss

This is not a 5 star venue, but for an authentic curry in the back streets of Manchester for £8 it can not be beaten. It is not posh at all, but the food was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It is like a truckers diner. The naan bread was sooooo fresh it was lovely. We had the keema and dansak, and they were really tasty. You pay up front and no alcohol .

I remember going here with my Dad in the late 80's early 90"s. Went to check it out again today. I had Chicken Balti with rice and chapati. Was incredibly delicious!

The quality of their food was not good at all and the behavior with the customers was very bad

One of the worst place ever been in the UK. And so dirty supplies. Not clean tables. I will come back one more time to see the difference, I hope you guys will make a difference, because it was not really good experience I had, I give you guys two start because you were nice people and friendly but it should be cleaner.

Literally the best hidden eat in Manchester, I visit weekly and the food is always amazing and so affordable, if you’re ever in Manchester you need to visit.

Probably my favourite of the curry cafes in Manc for a "rice & 3" now the Al Faisal has moved (and IMO isn't as good). Big portion of food, the 3 curries were all very different and tasty, and the roti was steaming hot! Just off the busy pedestrian strip which is now rejuvenated with bars, Kabana is definitely recommended.

I visited about 11.30am on a Tuesday, the place was already very busy. The service was brilliant you even had a jug of water on every table. I had the lamb Karachi and a garlic naan, the food was spicy and flavoursome. It's one of the best curries I have had. Anyone visiting Manchester check this place out.

I last visited in 1991... I hope they still do the chicken nan.

I work 1 day a week in the Northern Quarter and we have food here weekly for curry Wednesday. Chicken biryani and Lamb Karahi is about£15 which is a decent portion for two people. Staff are great, you can have a laugh with them and the wait isn't long kost days for your food if at all. Food is flavoursome, fresh and generous would recommend this hidden gem by that from the outside doesn't look like it should be up there with places to try curry in Manchester.

Absolutely superb,best kebab I've ever had. Chicken & long lamb sausage things on garlic nann with salad & sauce. So tasty & succulent. Get two if you ever have the chance to sample this place.

Really wonderful find while on a weekend escape to Manchester. Affordable, very friendly welcome and really good food. The Chicken Tikka was really good and we had great rice and three curries with it. The facilities could be better but the experience is overall great if your fancying a good indian lunch.

Lovely lamb karahi. Think for the 3 curry and rice this is right up there with the city’s best.

What a little gem! Just a friendly little curry house with lovely staff, fast service, reasonable prices and delicious dishes. I had the succulent lamb karahi with one naan and that was filling enough for the day. It came in minutes and was so fresh and delicious. I was waiting to check in to my hotel and they helped me bring my bags in and out too. Big steins of water a nice detail. Will return when I'm back in Manchester without a doubt!

Great place to get a curry if you're in Manchester City centre. The curries are excellent and full of flavour. I'd recommend the lamb karahi.

The epitome of 'Don't judge a book by its cover' as this place is all about the food! Been going here ever since I was a teenager, with nothing but good things to say: friendly staff, authentic food, and a good atmosphere. Can pop in for a quick bite, samosas to go, or dine in for a little bit. Whatever floats your boat. Now, living in London, I make it a priority to come here whenever I'm back in town with my partner, and the cheese naan is *always* on the order.

I asked how spicy the tikka masaka is he said “everything is medium” and it was so spicy tbf. He just came up with a lazy response to sell whatever and I didn’t appreciate the lack of honesty. The chai tea was good tho

Authentic, filling and inexpensive. This is the place to go if you want a great no frills meal for a very low cost. I’ll be coming back here whenever I’m back in Manchester.

I first had curry as a baby I'm told and I have been eating it at least once a month in the 43 years since. Off the top of my head I can't think of a better curry I have ever had. Maybe one was as good or a bit better in my past. Hard to remember every curry. On their own the other city centre curry houses we all know and love are pretty decent establishments but when Kabana turns up its all over.

I needed some pretty match fuel and was in the area, so there was no doubt I was going to visit this place. It is a small, unassuming café, but the food it puts out belies its modest decor. It was a Sunday, so the special lamb curry was on. This is a real treat and although the portions are not massive the flavours are and it was absolutely delicious. It does get very busy but just share a table with somebody and enjoy the depth of flavour. The curries vary every day and are always very high quality.

Kabana is one of a few "Curry Café" in Manchester that is worth a visit. This isn't your This-n-that spicy gravy. This is fresh, flavour full, authentic Pakistani style curry, that makes all of that creamy, incipit, pap you get in an Indian restaurant, pale into insignificance. You make your choice at the counter and it's handed to you there and then. Rice and three is a popular choice. A bed of white rice, adorned with 3 different curries. They also make fresh chicken tikka, naan and roti and fresh Samosa. Curry options vary daily and there's usually 8 different curries available. Card payment or cash. Not wheelchair friendly as there's a step to enter, and then the interior layout is very cozy. Can get very busy at lunch time, but the turnover is quick.

Kabana is absolutely phenomenal. One of, if not the best curry in Manchester. You’re in and eating in less than a minute. A million stars, always!

Good menu Can be busy on Friday and Sunday Good customer service- the Libyan man is lovely. The kitchen does not look tidy hence the three points A bit of efforts to clean outside the premise will be very helpful. It does entice customers to walk if the outside areas are dirty!

So the night before we went to the turtle Bay had a very disappointing meal in the all frills place we never seen or smelt food. Our last day in Manchester we passed here and must say no frills fresh honest food. The meat cooked fresh the smells from the kitchen amazing.Loved the customers coming and going some just popping into fridges behind the counter to get their drinks. Food was amazing and honest price. One best places we ate in. Thanks

C'était très bon, vraiment pas chère pour la qualité...mais un peu trop épicé pour nous, bon il faut dire que l'on a pas l'habitude de manger de la nourriture épicé. Une bonne adresse dans le quartier.
