Tampopo in Manchester

Enjoyed eventually thanks great food !

They definitely used to have better vegan choices . I had the katsu udon soup- the katsu curry made was way too heavy.

I love visiting Tampopo when I’m in Manchester visiting my son. Everything about it is excellent: decor and ambience, choice and quality of the food and drinks, and the superb service. On this visit we were served by Kira who was charming and attentive.

the restaurant setup is absolutely not high quality or standard for the price. we always go dining in thai restaurants in spinningfields and is absolutely high standards great service great prices in fact 2 starters 2 main 2 pt of beer it cost much cheaper than your price.

Great find walking about Manchester. Staff very friendly and helpful. Alyssa helped with one of the parties allergies. Fantastic food and great portions. The 3 of us all went for small plates with few sides glad we did as we were all full!

The best asian food i have ever had in UK. The nasi goreng itself was the star of the show. The black pepper chicken was a chef’s kiss. Bang bang prawn was so so. Not that much good.We are definitely going there again n again.

We had a delicious meal after the Manchester 10K run on Sunday, just what we needed to refuel! Marie, our server was friendly, informative and helpful. Couldn’t have wanted better!

We ordered the Nasi Goreng and Rendang. I think the taste is quite authentic. Price is reasonable too.

It's been a long time since I have been to Tampopo, not much has changed except the prices wow food is now very expensive for what it is. The beer prices extortionate. Google said it was busy but upon arrival only 4 customers were in. One last point don't give free prawn crackers add it to the bill base your service charge on that then remove to cost of the FREE prawn crackers. Not really free are they.

it was our first time visiting but it definitely won’t be our last, we had such a wonderful experience at Tampopo! we came for bottomless brunch, the food was amazing, much bigger portions than most other bottomless brunches which I loved, and a nice mix of drinks options too. Marie & Hollie were so attentive and friendly, they made sure we had a great experience and were so so helpful, 10/10 highly recommend ❤️

Really attentive service from Marie, told her we was only having a few small bites and a quick snack attended attentively nothing was too big too ask. Speedy delivery of the meals and quality was really good, asked about allergies and accomated professionally and discreet. Brilliant service Atmosphere 5 as the sun was shining! Can't talk for the inside as we didn't go there.

We came across Tampopo looking for somewhere interesting for dinner and we were so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were interesting and the pricing was really reasonable. We loved the vibe of the restaurant and our servers Mike and Phoebe were great too. Highly recommend and we will definitely go back!

Always enjoyable. We had the brunch deal today 50 % off before midday. Incredible value for money I almost felt guilty. Had pork dumplings and the bang bang steak with smashed avocado, Japanese waffle and poached egg. Everything you could want for in a brunch. Washed down with a Singha , followed by the cheesecake and a Vietnamese coffee. Almost perfect. My egg was ever so slightly overcooked but not enough to detract. My partner's was perfect! We must have got the wrong plates...Anyway we love Tampopo and will be back to try some of the other brunch dishes ASAP.

Our server Eleanor was fantastic. 5 x ⭐. She even convinced us to come back the next day for brunch. The sweetcorn fritters and hoisin spring rolls are second to none.

Marie was absolutely lovely as a server, lovely and chatty & had an amazing time. 2nd time here and it doesn’t fail to disappoint!

I ordered online as I really wanted to try Tampopo and they had a buy1 get1 free offer on the Thai green curry, which is my favourite.. I ordered 2 jasmine rice (full price) and recieved only one, they also split one portion of Thai green curry into two containers. This isn't fair really as the meal was supposed to be for two people. So not only did they get the same price for the food that was on "offer" they got extra by not giving the rice I paid for. There's no point putting an offer on if you're going to do customers over like that. The food was quite nice and I can't fault the flavour of the curry, I would have made this a regular place to eat out but that won't be happening now. I'm not a big person but the meal did not fill me at all.

The food was delicious. Cocktails were nice and good value during happy hour. We went early evening and it was quiet, we were seated straight away. Service was great. Not a cheap place but worth it.

Phoebe and Marie were fantastic. Excellent service when it was busy with a smile! A true asset to the restaurant.

This is a real Manchester institution. Been coming for years and keep coming back. Really tasty, fresh food and great friendly service. Eleanor really looked after us tonight and laughed at all our bad jokes :)

Attended for lunch. Downstairs, restaurant is set out like a school refectory and not really to my taste. Dislike sitting on backless stools which are secured to the floor and really uncomfortable. Food arrived quickly, was ok but a little greasy. The real star of the show was the waitress, Hollie. She was friendly, pleasant, and attentive from the moment I went in and, as I sat and watched she was equally attentive to all the customers, constantly on the go, asking if everything was ok and asking if she could she get them anything else. She was the highlight of the visit and many other establishments would do well to have someone like her as front of house.

Lovely hidden gem in central Manchester. Very reasonably priced and the food was delicious. Our servers, Marie and Mike, were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the Shanghai flower cocktail, hispi cabbage and chocolate fondant!

Went in tonight for my Dad's birthday. Been coming here since it opened. Always reliable, brilliant food. Mike was fantastic and service impeccable. Really looked after us. Great cocktails just in time for happy hour. The fillet steak main is honestly one of the best plates I've had in ages...credit to the chefs. Dad had the same and loved it. 10 out of 10. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Tampopo! There's a wide variety of interesting Asian selections and everything we chose was delicious. And Some of us very much enjoyed the cocktails as well. However,I would particularly like to comment on the service, which was exemplary. We were quite a large and demanding group including a baby and toddler and I cannot fault the patient, friendly waiters - in particular Sek, who was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you have children in tow, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much, Sek!

Wouldn’t want to go here later than 5:30 on a Friday as the seating is communal, but we had a comfortable 8 seater bench to ourselves. The service was good. Phoebe looked after us well. The portions were about right and the food was all delicious. Will definitely return when next in the area.

My partner and I always come here for food and are never disappointed. It's delicious and hearty at a decent price. Couple weeks ago we came with some friends and ordered food. This time we got dessert which we normally don't. Unfortunately it came out not great but our very lovely server, Felicity, got it sorted asap. 10/10 would recommend. My fave is the katsu curry with sweet potato as well as the Malaysian curry noodles.

Pre booked as we were in Manchester for a gig a little later. Very welcoming from the start with the staff member explaining the menu as this was our first visit. Really nice food, well presented and delicious. Our server Marie was spot on too! We'll definitely be back!

Fantastic food! Every dish was delicious! The staff were lovely and the cocktails happy hour was a lovely bonus.

We were wandering through Manchester looking for a place to eat and Tampopo caught our eye. The menu looked interesting and well priced, with veggie options for my friend. Had a warm welcome and our server, Marie was delightful. I had the chicken katsu and my friend had the vegan version, with grilled pak choi and kimchi for side . We were both impressed by the how full of flavour everything was and the generous portions nearly defeated us. Overall, we were really happy to have found it and will go back again when have the chance.

It was my first time in Manchester and my partner and I stumbled across Tampopo before going to a concert. Not only was the food delicious but the service was very quick and friendly! Even the fire alarm going off halfway through the meal couldn't damage the experience - the staff were speedy evacuating us customers and did well to keep everyone calm. Luckily there was no fire! I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry with Egg Fried Rice and my partner ordered the Red Curry Noodles. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and were so delicious! I also had the Sour Cherry Appleade, which is my new obsession - liquid gold! (I wish I had the recipe 😂) We'd also like to give a massive thanks to all of the staff, especially our waitress Elise. She welcomed us with friendliness and was very quick to bring our food and drinks. I highly recommend eating at Tampopo, especially if you never have before!

Felicity was great, she made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was good, the pad Thai wasn’t quite as good as I’ve had in Thailand, but we’re in Manchester after all!
