Seoul Kimchi in Manchester

Got to leave a few words about how much I LOVE it here! Absolutely number 1 korean restaurant in Manchester!!!! We truthfully enjoyed the authentic Korean dishes, felt like at Myeongdong, at a local restaurant. We ordered Ginseng Chicken (1/2 portion), Bibimbap with prawn, Braised beef ribs, Jeon seafood ( savory pancake). They taste fabulous in a way it brought back great memories when we were taking a vacation to Seoul a couple of years ago. We are most impressed by the Ginseng Chicken and Jeon. Words can't describe how amazing this place really is. Kudos to the kind people preparing the delicious Korean cuisine for us with heart and effort!

It's a really small restaurant, however the food is sooo good. They have clearly marked halal options which is nice. The food is so tasty. I love tteokboki, the sweet and spicy chicken, pretty much most of the food I've tried, I've loved!

When you crave Korean food, you have to go here. It's not spicy and spicy, but it's definitely not just an imitation of Korean food. It's delicious.

I'd love to keep this gig as a secret, but their food is SO good that the World needs to know them. It wouldn't surprise me if it appears on 50 Best Restaurants or the Michelin guide in a couple of years.

I put 5 Star because we really enjoyed the freshly cooked and simple dishes in the past. And we want to see the business goes well. However, today's meal was really disappointing - meat wasn't fresh, very dry, the portion was much less in all dishes.

Really loved this place with his cozy vibe and delicious food, its awesome they have halal options, I’d recommend the bibimbab “ I think this is the name lol” but its very flavorful, and the kimchi is Fabulous

Authentic Korean restaurant in Manchester. It's a small restaurant, so there is limited seating space. Luckily, we came pretty early because the rest of the customers had to squeeze in. The shop owned by a Korean lady, very kind and soft spoken. We had Bibimbap, dumplings, vegetable korean pancakes, dakgalbi, and citron tea. The food was decent, and they have halal options too. Would come back to try other menus as well.

One of the better Korean restaurants in Manchester run by locals and authentic dishes. Place needs some ventilation though!

Food is nice enough, had the bento box with a mix of a few things, the portions are small-medium I could have definitely ate more. Unfortunately this place never seems to be open when I want to go in, the hours definitely need to be expanded as I've tried to go at least 5 times now on different occasions and it's just never open!!

went here due to a friends recommendation, and it sure served up good food, with friendly staff. And not too heavy on the pocket as well. Would come back here again.

Hidden gem in Manchester that you must go to, service was very efficient and relaxed, relaxed environment, the restaurant was very clean. And the food is some of the best food I’ve eaten whilst living in Manchester. Only been once but it will definitely become a regular place to go to now.

Simply delicious! The room was a little warm but the food more than made up for that. Service was prompt and good.

I absolutely love this place. Unbelievably good food and a wonderful cozy atmosphere. The price is a great for the quality of the food and the bento boxes are such a steal that I honestly feel a bit guilty when I order them. My favorites are the squid and chicken bulgogi, the spicy rice, the cheese tokboki, and the chicken katsu bento box (They use tonkatsu sauce so might not be what you expect).

A small and charming restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff is considerate.

Food was nice and authentic Korean, however the service wasn't great. We were sat for around 25 mins before we had to ask for menus, and another 15 mins before we had to ask if we could order. I'd return again to see whether it was just a bad day, as we went on a Friday evening.

Great little local place with a small simple yet delightful menu. Tricky to accomdate groups larger than 4 due to table seating and restaurant size.

If you like authentic small (potentially family run) restaurants then you'll love this place! A refreshing experience away from a lot of the chain restaurants in Manchester! Similar vibes to kyotoya in withington. Anything from the Korean specials is great, especially the Korean sweet and spicey chicken! Definitely worth the trip!

I think this is one of the best Korean restaurants in the UK. All the dishes that we ordered are very tasty. We ordered beef bulgogi ,sweet and spicy fried chicken which is served with rice,tteokboki,kimchi and gyoza for 2 people which are all absolutely delicious!😋 You can tell that it's authentic home made Korean cooking. Hopefully in the future they can further expand their restaurant. The food is really worth it! Must try in Manchester! 👌

Seoul Kimchi, no Soul, no Kimchi (if you don't pay for it). The outside already shows how little effort they put into this place. We had 불고기 and 갈비. The dishes alone don't taste bad IF you DON'T know what they're supposed to taste like. The Kalbi is served with a broth in a 뚝배기. The Bulgogi is served on a hot stone, which is nice but the meat is cut way too thick. It would be great if they would serve some side dishes as a standard, even if it would be only some 콩나물 무침 or 김지. These are extremely easy to make and not expensive. We just wanted to give a honest review and think that the taste is alright but you pay for very little effort and small portions.

제가 잘못 알고 있는 게 아니라면 맨체스터쪽에 한국인이 운영하시는 건 이거 하나인 걸로 알아요!! 일부러 시내에서 택시까지 타고 갔는데 안 아까웠어요 김치찌개는 한국 식당에서 먹을 법만 맛이고 물도 보리차 준비 돼 있어서 정말…비빔밥도 맛있고…김치찌개 추천이 많아서 먹었는데 완전 인정!

We had a fab lunch here today. My son enjoyed the generous chicken teriyaki bento box! Service was brilliant. Glad I finally made it here and can see it will be a regular place for us.

We have dine in 9/2/2023 night, we order about 12 food and the food is above normal, During the dinning time, one young female staff found a wallet on the floor and she ask is there anyone dropped? This is my friend wallet, I feel appreciate that she has not toke it away and ask us who dropped it. If my friend lost the wallet, this will be have big problem about all his cards. Thank you for much for the honest good young lady staff. And I recommend this restaurant to all of you!

I went there at the night it was quite busy as I went there the waiter was super nice 👍 when I had to order I ordered two dishes seafood tobokki and a pork bolgogi I had to wait there for a quite a long time for my food but since I was hungry late at night might as well wait for my food I have to say the seafood tobokki was delicious super nice the squid and prawns were good 10/10 perfect spice level and the pork bolgogi was a bit of disappointment on the bottom It was too burnt I ate the whole thing

Świetne miejsce, bardzo małe, ale atmosfera nadrabia. Jedzenie naprawdę pyszne, dwa główne dania i jedna przystawka na dwie osoby wystarczyła, żeby się najeść. Zdecydowanie tam wrócę podczas kolejnej wizyty w Manchesterze 😊

After hearing good things from my sister, I was looking forward to eating here for some time but it was closed during Christmas break. Finally got the chance to eat here but was unfortunately disappointed by the food. The seafood pancake was thick with dough and not crispy at all. Then the korean fried chicken was the most disappointing as it was not dry and crispy, instead it was mushy and greasy.

The place serves Korean-Japanese food at a decent price. The Katsu Bento Box Chicken and Spicy Tofu Chicken were good. The ginseng chicken did not live up to those expectations. The citron tea was nice.

Seoul kimchi ist ein sehr kleines Koreanische Restaurant im südlichen Manchester. Es gibt eine kleine Auswahl an Koreanischen Gerichten aber auch einige japanische Gerichte werden angeboten. Innen ist es nicht schon sondern eher karg eingerichtet aber geschmacklich sind alle Gerichte sehr lecker und authentisch gewesen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zugig. Jedoch sollte man genug bisher einplanen wenn man hungrig ist. Denn die Gerichte sind alle recht klein sind wie zu zweit 4 Gerichte bestellen mussten um satt zu werden.

Good Korean home food Seems run by a Korean family

If you want to eat authentic korean food, this is the place to visit. Extremely tasty food and very kind staff, I can only recommend stopping by, it’s only a couple minutes from the city center by bus 50. I can also recommend making a reservation before, as there are not many seats and the restaurant is highly frequented.

Authentic Korean food. Everything was delicious. I ordered the chicken gyoza, cheese tokbokki and chicken katsu bento box for takeaway. The sauce on the chicken katsu was too good! Staff are friendly and helpful too. I will definitely come back for more. Thank you

Never really tried korean before but really enjoyed it. Had the Spicy Tofu beef soup , Gyozas, and sticky rice. The food was top notch, the place was very pleasant to sit and watch the food being prepared or the world pass by. Staff were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Guarantee I will be back 🇰🇷♥️

A delicious pleasant surprise. Very small restaurant, but not too crowded, home cooked party in the mouth food. I had the Spicy prawn fried rice, my partner had the seafood pancake and we shared the tofu and tuna soup😋 highly recommend, we will be back and recommend to friends and family. The food is absolutely divine. Everytime we visit Manchester City from London, we always stop by Seoul Kimchi for some gastronomic delight. The price is fair, the place is clean, there is ready parking available and the staff are polite and courteous. 5 stars!

We booked for a table for of 7. Restaurant is small and cosy. I guess around 5 tables. We had a selection of bibimbab, braised galbi, mixed pancake, toppoki, spicy tofu and duruchigi. Food didn’t take too long to arrive. Excellent taste. Very authentic Korean. Will definitely come again Only thing I have to say is that it was around 14 degrees outside when we came here. It was sunny and inside was quite warm. The waitress closed the blinds for us. I’m just wondering when it gets warmer outside what will be the temperature inside. I didn’t see and openable windows and no air vents

It was once my favourite Korean restaurant in Manchester. Unfortunately last two visits showed me how much the place has changed. The dishes are not the same anymore - I tried both bibimbap and sweet & spicy chicken, which used to be delicious and prepared meticulously. Bibimbap didn't look as beautiful as it used to and the taste was unmemorable. Sweet and spicy chicken was ok at best and was not seasoned with sesame or crushed nuts - adds to crunch and flavour (fair enough if someone has allergy, but we confirmed we don't). I went with my friend who I wanted to taste kimchi and some other side dishes and promised her they will come as samples with a rather significant order we made for two people, but the small samples of side dishes were not served. Sadly, not the same quality as it used to be.

A hidden gem! The staff is lovely and the food is really great. Highly recommended for lunch after a visit to the Gaskell museum!
