Salt & Pepper in Manchester

Had the Trilogy mixed box. It slaps ! It’s bangin’ 🔥🔥the crunch on that sticky beef, that flavor on the Salt Pepper chicken and the sticky chicken all together was money. Friendly and great customer service. I really hope that you guys would consider opening one up in NYC.

One of the best lunch spots in Manchester! It’s always busy but definitely worth the wait if there’s a queue. I went for the surf and turf this time with half rice and half chips. Such a good deal for £12.50 - you get three big prawns and steak and it all tastes amazing. They’ve also got a great selection of sauces to choose from at the front

Been a fan since the start when they had a stall in arndale market. Food quality is on point and the price point is great value. Only downside is that it gets crazy busy at peak times. But worth the wait when craving. I reccomend the triple meat with half and half or surf n turf with half and half. Solid 9.2/10

I went at lunchtime when it was super busy, came from far and got told they had just stopped doing grill items… I came for the steak but I was left no choice but to get the fried chicken. Waited ages and in the end got a kids portion of food, not much seasoning either. Safe to say I left feeling deflated and still starving :(

This place is incredible. 10/10 for me. Only negative... They need to expand into larger premises... Queueing out of the door when we went (no exaggeration). Food was absolutely delicious. Open a branch in Dubai... We need this back home!

Everytime I'm in town i visit here, food is spot on, full of flavour and always busy. Staff are nice and friendly and the only complaint I have is they put an open pot of sauce in the box and then turn it on its side emptying the contents of said box all over the bag. Literally a little moan but 3 times we've had a take out from there it happened all 3. I cannot fault anything else, food, speed, service, atmosphere, cleanliness are all spot on, 👌 Thankyou Salt&Pepper for great food 😋

Everything 10/10 We went too a few viral places in Manchester on our visit and there were all such a miss......until we came here where the hype is so real, it was absolutely bloody fantastic

Amazing food and great portions for the price!

Food was great the salt and pepper chicken was amazing as was the sticky chicken. The chips were also very nice. The soy wings tasted great but we're a bit small. The only downside to this place is it's like the hunger games to find a seat and it's very tight so if you don't mind having a gamble on if you can get seated go give it a try because the food was great.

Got a trilogy box and hash browns yesterday, was not worth the hype it was cold, hard and expensive for what we got. Food wasnt up to scratch and wouldnt recommend at all. Overhyped crap as usual from the food blogger recommendations

One of my friends raved about this place and said its a great place to eat with good food. I'd thought I'd try it out and see what's special about this place. After looking at the menu, I decided to get the Chicken/Beef mixed box. After getting the food after 10 mins, it was good at first and seasoned well, however, as more I dug into the the meat, it was mainly batter and skin of the chicken/Beef. I was upset by this because I didn't expect to taste batter as I paid for this. Can management flag this up and give me a fresh one please. P.s. I wouldn't recommend to go if its busy.

WOW honestly believe the hype this food is incredible! So much food in one box! Great value for money and bursting with flavour! Honestly cannot wait to return. Well done to the staff at this place too, a very well run operation!

Not worth the hype from social media. Beef is too chewy and chicken feels too much of a batter The only thing I like is boiled rice as it’s soft and perfectly boiled. Overall taste is salty, especially chips Atmosphere is incredibly noisy as well, unfortunately

Having seen photos of the food here I was expecting big things and I have to say I was disappointed. The food was average and all the flavour came from the sauces. The table we sat at was wobbly and the floor covered in food. On the plus side the portions are huge and the food was prepared extremely quickly. Also plastic forks seem wasteful and are easily broken when trying to use.

Honestly some of the nicest salt and pepper chicken I’ve had in years! Really reasonable prices and massive portions. Drinks are really good prices too, cans of fizzy juice are £1.20. Staff are lovely and really efficient

I was looking for the shop found out after searching in the food market. Ordered extra 🥵 extra spicy sticky wings. Bro!! 😎 Must have best thing ever 😜. Love the food fries best food in Manchester, I would love to come back with my family even I have to drive to 4 hrs to get here. Must have in Manchester highly recommend. Coming from a Pakistani who love spicy food.

Called into Salt & Pepper for lunch we all had the sticky chicken, one with all rice, one half rice / half chips and the other with the salt & pepper chips. The food was delicious and filling

This place had the best prawn tempura and chicken. I liked their chicken and prawn with sticky sauce. It was amazing. FYI, these places always have long queue, but don't worry, they are very fast at taking orders and in 5-10 minutes you will get your food. Worth money for foods 😋.

Did not expect something to be so delicious! Afternoon wondering what to have for dinner we decided to pull in here, place was buzzing, and service was quick but the food was incredible. Had a surf and turf which I thought was great value, prawns were exceptionally crispy and paired great with the lemon mayo and the FLANK STEAK, SOOOOOOO DAMN GOOD, was so tender and juicy and had an incredible smoke flavour, the chips were awesome and the salad gave great freshness, not ur bog standard salad! The mixed box with the trilogy meats was also outstanding, crispy sticky beef, salt and pepper chicken and sticky chicken were all so tasty, will deffo be back and don't forget to try all the sauces!!!!

Visited Manchester for a day trip with my partner and a friend said we must visit here for food, they were absolutely right! We had the mixed box with 2x chickens and beef with half and half fries and rice. The food was fantastic and if it was open later on in the day too we have returned on the same day! Next time we visit I shall be checking it’s open so we can definitely visit again.

I have previously been here several times and thoroughly enjoyed the food but lately the portions have been inconsistent. Ordered a mixed box today only to get 3/4 bites of chicken and 3/4 of beef and a hell of a lot of chips to bulk up the box. Truly disappointed

Had grilled chicken half rice/chips.. rice was good, chicken sooo bland no seasoning at all. They previously offered a soy sauce based condiment which you help yourself to but that's been replaced with a range of mayo sauces which does not go with grilled chicken. Not sure why the wait was 15 -20 mins today, it wasn't busy but was so disorganised. No beepers to call you to collect your order but staff just constantly shouting people's names out. So annoying.

Actually used to rate these guys but just ordered of uber eats. Firstly the price is more on there, but cool. What really annoyed me is when u come into the shop, they give a pot of sauce with the meal. On my order i requested a SMALL pot like they usually give anyway in store and was told i have to buy?? So im paying more and receiving less than if i came in. Makes no sense and highly disappointed

Good food with fast service! Every time in Manchester

We’ve tried this place before a couple of times (last year) as we aren’t from mcr, we travelled over specifically for this as we remember it being so good! Honestly, it was awful, we both got a mixed box, I had all chicken and it was squidgy and only just about cooked… the beef tasted like fish? Were they cooked in the same pan? Who knows but not what you really want when you order sticky beef but hey ho, just an overall disappointment to be honest, food was just about warm and the portions are tiny now, really sad and won’t be bothering again!

Portions have become smaller and more expensive. Still tasty but not like what it used to be. Less choice of sauces and you can’t take more than one pot which for the money you are paying is a shame.

I’ve been a customer for more than 2 years but the portions are getting smaller and smaller, the last order I made came with a few fries and a bit of rice, it’s very disappointing.

Food was very salty more, tasted artificial. The prawns batter was so hard and without taste, I had to peel the off to get to the prawns. The sauces, chilli mayo tasted like medicine. The toilet was unclean and the floor very slippery, it was easy to slip. Owners need to have a look at their recipe. Not going back there for sure!

After finding this place on TikTok we had to go. And we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely amazing with us getting the sticky chicken and sticky beef. Prices are reasonable also. Staff friendly and helpful. Very busy and it closes at 6 so get there early! Will definitely be returning on our next trip!

I have become a regular at this place for more than a year now.

Great lunch spot and always rammed as soon as the doors open. Don't worry if you see a long queue when you land - the staff are next level and it's incredible to see how quickly they handle the crowds (always with a smile too). Foods great and make sure to hit up the sauces.

Have to say that this is one of the best street food places in Manchester. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Chicken meal with a side of Curry and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was crispy on the outside but tender and succulent on the inside. Sitting on top of perfectly cooked crinkled cut fries with a coleslaw, I couldn’t have asked for more. Great portion, just right for a dinner or big snack. Curry sauce was spot on. Not too hot, sweet but had a little after kick. I would highly recommend anybody come here for lunch, dinner or a night time treat! Five Stars all the way ❤️

Really nice food, great service, little bit too busy and chaotic setup that's the only negative, so you can have a calm meal but the food and staff are great. If the layout was changed to be a bit more tranquil, that would be good

I'm a fan of this restaurant, reasonably priced and a good selection of various salt and pepper style meals, a bit busy during certain times of the day and considering its not that big of a restaurant you could get slightly frustrated by this

I rate the street food vibe here, tasty options, yes the dishes are quite salty but I didn’t expect anything less! We had sticky beef, surf & turf, hash browns and calamari - surf & turf I would go back for and only criticism would be that the calamari could have been crispier! Reasonably priced for what it is

Still got receipt and I went there on 11/07/2024 at 12:56. Order salt and pepper chicken with just boiled rice £9!!! They don’t even do egg fried rice. The boiled rice was nice but the chicken was non existent. It was all batter. Worst salt and pepper chicken I’ve ever had. Went here with work on lunch and eat at office, if I wasn’t in work I would have walked it back and got a refund.

Arrived around midday and very busy. Great choices but taste is similar regardless - but tasty in any case. Had to wait 15 minutes for lunch to arrive but worth it I guess. Regular portions are plenty enough and good choice of sauces to dip/add. Would go again but only if I fancied a pricey streetfood type lunch and had plenty of time.

Nice quick eat in Manchester. The steak is pretty good! Everything is super salty though so you’ll be thirsty for days after.

Great value for food ratio, ruined by dreadful food hygiene. Honestly, the food was a tad too salty but still very delicious until the point we found hairs in two separate boxes. After glancing at the kitchen it appears none of the staff cooking were wearing hair nets 🤢 I wish I could give this place more stars and it could've become our new favourite spot if it wasn't for the lack luster hygiene.

We first tried salt and pepper back in February and ever since it has became the benchmark for me and my partner whenever we eat out. My only regret with Salt and Pepper is that I didn’t try some of the smaller items before having what i believe to be the best item on the menu, the mixed box. For just £10 me and my partner would get the mixed box each (£20 total) and within this we would have the sticky beef, salt and pepper chicken and then half salt and pepper chips and half rice. 🤌 and only recently have I decided to have the £2 extra option to have the sticky chicken added. You simply cannot get enough of this place. My advice to someone who goes here is to try the rest of the menu before the mixed box, work your way up to the best item. But a place as good as this comes with its con. It is always full but that is a good problem to have 😂 despite it being full, the staff are very quick and friendly with their service. I have never found that I have had to wait any longer than 10 minutes for food even if the queue is out the door.

This place is worth the hype, loved the hash browns & tofu & the different types of dip. Well priced considering its popularity, location & portion sizes. “Small bites” easily a full lunch for myself & my partner (bigger appetite) had one of the wraps, without the chips, & it was enough for him. Quick service considering how busy it was & food was fresh & tasty. Want to go back already!

Usually I order off uber eats delivery, but my order has been wrong 3 times so I decided to visit the venue. I have an intolerance to green leaves like lettuce and other salad items. I clearly stated I wanted no salad. My daughters box came perfectly how we ordered. I have to be honest the flavours are delicious but just not worth getting poorly over. My box came and looked perfect but for some reason had a full variety of green salad leaves and onions and all sorts not even the usual slaw and cucumber. The whole half of the box underneath my food was salad. This disgusted me but I tried to not let it bother me too much. Then I remembered last week when I ordered and paid extra for prawns and didn't receive them. Give the girl her due they did offer to replace it but my daughter had almost eaten hers at this point and I don't like complaining about food and getting new food. Rather it was right to start with. Safe to say I won't be making it 4 times of bad orders only once I have had my food correct. Very disappointed. If you don't mind squashing in and getting not what you ordered definitely visit.

Lovely café/take out place. Delicious salt and pepper flavours and they serve beer. I got the mixed box and the chicken/beef is loaded on top of crinkle cut chips and pickled veg. Very nice sticky beef and chicken. Excellent value for money too.

The hype form tiktok is overrated. I went there today to try with my friend food was eatable. Service is really friendly, and that's all positive, I have to say. It's been 9 hours after our mean, and we can still feel it. It does not sit well in our stomachs. I can not imagine going back to work, and while talking, ppl could smell what I had to eat... tables where moving never knew is its going to fell over barley holding on.

It is obvious from the name what is served here! I tried the mixed chicken box which was a very generous portion. It was very busy which is a good sign but the restruaunt was rather noisy. The service was very efficient.

Great food! Combination of Asian Fusion Takeaway style food which tasted great! Had the chicken wing, tofu and prawn which all were good. Would come back and try more of different foods on the menu

I have been a regular customer for a long time. I love the food there especially squid and salt and pepper chicken. first time i tried it i love it that i shared the address with all my friends and sisters. Every time we go to town, the only place we go to eat was here. But recently my sister felt sick after eating it, vomiting at night …. We thought it was something else. But yesterday i ate the same meal she ate, the salt and pepper chicken which is my favourite. Same thing happened with me. I wasn’t able to sleep bc of the stomach cramps, diarrhea and i vomited as well. I an just scared that is salmonella infection, as i saw on google bc i have same symptoms. I would like you inspect about that.

I think this place is well worth the hype. It tasted absolutely amazing and they have a great selection of sauces available. The tofu option is great and the hashbrowns were amazing. Big portion sizes as well. The only reason why I am giving it 4 and not 5 stars are the opening times. There’s absolutely no way a person working a 9-5 will be able to go here as this place shuts at 6pm every day. On the weekend you have to start queuing for this place about 10 min before the opening time to get a seat. It’s very popular but definitely worth it. Just wish they’d stay open a bit longer. The prices vary a lot from the online menu - in person it’s way cheaper.

A bit over rated, yes it’s fresh and presentable but the flavour isn’t all that great. Tastes kind of boring and bland. Got the crispy salt and pepper prawn and chicken. It’s not the best salt and pepper out there and I don’t think I’d come back. The price is also very expensive which doesn’t help since it’s not a 10/10

Really busy, impersonal, felt a bit rushed. Table was really dirty and cleaned ourselves, not sure if this is what you're supposed to do. Very loud. Quite pricey for what it is. Have heard people raving about this place and it was OK. We had sticky chicken, salt and pepper tofu and chicken all either rice and chips. The sticky chicken was quite sweet. The extra sauces are good. If you're looking for a quick eat then this is the place. Portion size was quite big. Tofu was really good and the salad with the tofu was better than with the chicken. Not terrible but not raveable either.
