Salt & Pepper in Manchester

We've been here about 5 or 6 times over the past few years. Before, when they were based in the Arndale market and then subsequently in their new store. It just seems to get better & better. A lot more efficient now, menu layout is great, self serve sauce counter is boss and the food never misses. The portion sizes are huge. A box could easily satisfy me for two meals!

Don’t let the queue for this place put you off, it’s there for a reason. Had the sticky chicken kabab, good amount of food and tasty too. Seating is abit of a nightmare if your not taking away but all round good place to good.

I saw many recommendations, and I was worried that it was overhyped, but it was the opposite. The hash browns were so crispy, and the tasty prawns were a bit too salty, but still, I enjoyed it so much.

The food was very good, I got a wrap. I was satisfied with it although it contained more salad than chicken. The place has a calm vibe and it’s quite nice to sit in and enjoy your meal.

Busy lunch time quick food, very tasty and reasonably priced. Toilets on site and short walk to Shudehill Tram stop. Will visit again

Great tasty fast food, efficient staff, fairly good value for money and a mouth watering menu BUT pretty salty grub and it’s loud, cramped and has a chaos atmosphere. Probably best getting your food and running 😊 The surf and turf is recommended.

My go to place when in Manchester. Staff always friendly and the foods spot on. Would highly recommend, the perfect food before going a night out or to cure your hangover. They need a branch in the West Midlands!

Called in there today, the place was packed which was nice to see. We were served quickly, there was a queue but it was fast moving and we got to perv on other people food. We had a small wait after ordering, maybe 10 minutes but that is more than fine considering how many people were in there. Now, the food, OMG…it was amazing and there’s plenty of it too. I had the trilogy and some hash browns, I couldn’t eat it all, and I eat A LOT!! The wife had the standard S&P chicken, there was so much meat!! The whole experience was perfect. We were sat next to a family and we asked if they had eaten there before, they replied, “yeah, yesterday”…says it all really. Amazing!!!!!!!

Came in behind a large queue and customised order efficiently taken. Food arrived promptly and was delicious. Had the salt and pepper chicken as a main, with rice, and sticky beef with chips and hash browns.decent portions and great price for middle of Manchester. Polite staff. Loved the choice of sauce despencers. Wheelchair access at front, limited but doable.

Got the surf & turf and the sticky chicken, which, apparently, has a reputation for being rather tasty. Alas, I found the chicken to be rather dry and a little bland. I much preferred the beef in the surf & turf. However, that being said, I found the prawns to be floury in taste, so I don't think the batter was up to par. It would also help if they actually had a sign up with the name of the restaurant, instead of a symbol of a bee, which is neither use nor ornament when trying to locate where it is. Google still has it as being inside the Arndale Marketplace, which it isn't. It isn't even inside the Arndale Centre. It's across the road, nextdoor to the English Lounge. Took a punt on going here, as there has been a lot of hype, but I can honestly say, it was nothing special. I would much rather go into Chinatown and have a better quality meal there.

The salt and pepper chicken was a little bland but good with their variety of sauce, the sticky beef was perfectly crunchy and flavourful, but their chips were BIBLICAL🤌

I had the chicken salt and pepper wrap, the schezwan mayo sauce made it delicious. Absolutely packed with customers on a Sunday lunch time which was a good sign and we struggled to get a table but it is definitely worth a visit.

One of the best salt and pepper in the uk. I am a big fan. I have tried salt and pepper chicken and king prawn. Both are amazing. But the king prawn is more of a surprise given by the large king prawn. All are perfect, the taste, the portion, the quality, added a little bit veg in, and u can have a paper pot to pick a sauce. 2 down side: opening hour is too short!! And they will call your name if takeaway, and it is not convenient given how busy they are and the crowded environment.

Been meaning to try Salt and Pepper for ages, so had a day off work and decided to lunch with the wife! Queuing already at midday so prepare for a wait. Well worth it though. The food was amazing especially the sticky beef. Could barely finish the box! So good, will definitely return.

Go eat it all. Totally worth it. But be prepared to have it as take out and seating it limited.

wow this place was special, We opted for the salt an pepper chicken half half, Crispy beef half half, salt an pepper hash browns and 3 drinks which only came to £27 with unlimited sauce options !!! These days you literally spend that amount in Mcdonalds so value for money was unreal. Not to mention the food was top tier, very very busy but do not let that put you off waiting as a full line out the door was cleared in 20 minutes. I am very sad there is not one of these in Liverpool. Hopefully soon as you guys would make a killing.

Food is very tasty and Halal. Staff helpfully and friendly. Ambience cheerful but always busy ma shaa allah. We order shrimps and calamari (10/10), chicken sticky 10/10 .. Great value for money

Amazing food and good portion size. The sticky beef with half chips, half rice is the best. It was exceptionally busy but they have amazing systems, so the food was quick. The food is such good quality too. Highly recommend a visit if you’ve never been.

Extremely busy and packed inside the restaurant, felt a little like sardines in a tin. Food was good but a little lacking in flavour. Used to visit Salt & Pepper in Arndale food market and, in my opinion, the food quality has gone downhill since. The salt and pepper hash browns were just hash browns with chillies on top which was a little dissatisfying. Wouldn’t attend again. Service was good, staff doing the best they can under busy circumstances.

Excellent food. Really busy ar 12.30 when we called in for some lunch, however we queued, ordered and had our food within about 15mins. The fact it was so busy speaks volumes. Staff efficient and all very attentive for such a small fast food type venue. Food was fresh and absolutely delicious. I would 100% recommend this place. Communal seating which means it always looks full but we got a space by the time our food was ready.

Food is good, but the quality is slightly inconsistent. Some of the hash-browns were hot and crispy and the others were barely warm. The fries that came with the wrap also felt like it had been left out for a while. Overall still worth a visit if you’re in the area. The sticky beef and salt & pepper chicken are quite decent.

Ordered sticky wings , very chewy and tasted like they've been in the fridge for the past decade. You'll get really nasty and dirty when eating it. The food is overrated and bad , atmosphere is okay , the staff are friendly .

Really great food for a cheap price. Very crispy and very tasty. The only downside is the length of the queue and trying to hunt down somewhere to sit. Tip: Make sure you have plenty to drink, the food is SALTY (clues in the name) and towards the bottom of the box you feel as if you're drinking the ocean (but in a good way).

I used to go here when in was in the arndale, it was so tasty and staff friendly . Unfortunately I have just got back after paying for the £10 box, they forgot to put in my rice, I only got a few pieces of chicken and some pieces of the beef were quite tough. It's a shame as I was looking forward to it. Maybe a bad batch. I was looking forward to the rice with my meal.

Some of the best food i’ve ever had - Surf+Turf is amazing. The ordering system doesn’t suit hard of hearing/ deaf people in a loud environment. Please consider this!!

This place surpassed expectations by a mile!! Where do I start, the good prices, a great menu, the generous portion sizes, the friendly staff, the quick service and the very tasty food. Everything was great, will definitely be back whenever I'm in Manchester. When you expand, please come to Lancaster!

Delicious food for vegans - Would recommend the sticky tofu!!! Very friendly staff and we could see how hard they were all working. I would love to see some flavoured rice options and reusable bowls if you are eating in. So much unnecessary waste lets it down a bit!

I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the mock chicken wrap. Very nice. Bloody huge too. I wasn't that taken by the salt and pepper chips. Seemed very dry. However, I'd go back to try more of the veggie items

The other combinations are lil heavy on the sauce, but the salt and pepper chicken stood out. Had the half and half, rice came a lil lumpy which spoils the texture.

First time here and wow...I'll be back...food was great and great atmosphere..had the salt and pepper wrap with chips...9.50 ...and sweet sticky soy sauce....was planning my next visit before I left...and checking what to have next Worth a visit but can be busy..

Been waiting to come to this place for months because it closes at 6 I've found it hard to get there on time but when I did, maaaaaan it was worth the wait. I had a crispy chilli beef wrap and thw hashbrowns and it was perfect. Can't wait to go again to try more.

The food from this place is honestly outstanding wow, super delicious and filling. Can get very busy so be aware as this is a popular place in the heart of Manchester. They give you a buzzer to tell you when the food is ready. Only downfall is the tables were quite dirty, so staff could be a bit more attentive when it comes to cleaning, however they’re very busy so I understand. Parking wise it’s best to park at arndale car park as it’s close by, you will need to pay for parking. The wrap was very good and the curry sauce was really nice. A place worthwhile to visit!!

Takeaway style food in a dirty environment. Tasty but there’s way better in Manchester.

Best salt and pepper takeaway I've had and one of the best takeaways in general. Chicken was seasoned perfectly, as were the crinkle fries. Sweet chilli and garlic mayo sauce topped it off perfectly. Single downside is the small size of the venue, it's a victim of its own success!

Read all the hype about this place, so I was in Manchester, and I thought I'd try it out. To be honest, it was OK, Let's just say it wouldn't be in my first place to eat in Manchester.

Delicious food and very organized. Sticky mest glistens, salt and pepper is the perfect weight with the wok taste. Choice of two sauces but I choose one because of the great amount of flavour already present.

Absolutely amazing food, must try 100% Service is slow so big ques. Leaves people sitting around waiting for food so people leave not wanting to stand and eat their food. Really noisy place, food is great but struggled to enjoy it as it's so hectic.

Their food is truly fantastic, and it offers excellent value for your money. However, I'm a bit disappointed that they recently got rid of those sauce pumps at the front. It had become part of the experience, and it made asking for extra sauce much more comfortable. I'd prefer it if they increased their prices slightly instead of doing away with the pumps. Hopefully they bring them back!

First time coming here. Came in to see a big queue however we were served and sat down with our food in 10-15mins. Really nice food, we got the trilogy box, salt and pepper chips and hash browns to share between two of us which was more than enough. Really recommend the hash browns! Staff were lovely. Will be coming back and recommend you give them a try!

Food was really good, reasonably priced I came in my electric wheelchair - immediately to the left of the main doors there is a very small area (3 tables for 2) so I was able to sit but the rest of seating, the till to order and toilets were all up a set of stairs. Therefore, any wheelchair users (or people with limited mobility) would need to be with someone who can order on their behalf and you are unable to use the toilet.

Packed when we went in but we were served very quickly. Had the triple box, although there was definitely no beef, however..... let that one go as what I did get was delicious, hot and spicy, salty deliciousness!

This place was busy from 12 noon when we first arrived, it’s so popular! The honey and soy grilled steak box with chips was the highlight of our order - sticky and moist strips of steak with an enjoyable crunchy salad included in the box. We also had a box containing salt and pepper chicken and sticky beef (really crispy and delicious!). On the side we went for the salt and pepper hash browns which were huge and fell apart in your hands.

Tried here as I was in the city for a day and was recommended it. I had the grilled steak wrap which was amazing with the salt and pepper fries. Would definitely go back! The place is really busy and therefore not a lot of seating but we got a table luckily

Really nice salt and pepper chicken. food portion sizes are good and reasonably priced. We did dine in but it can be very hard to find a table as they only have a few and sometimes a lot of people will take seats before they even order so people that have already have received their food have nowhere to sit. It’s not the staffs fault but maybe a sign saying not to sit at tables until you have received your food might help with tables been available/ not having to wait around with your while ppl are sat at tables without food. Best to ask for the food to takeaway and find somewhere outside to eat it.

It was pretty quiet when I went in today to get something as I’d seen it on instagram, was really excited. I went for the salt and pepper chicken wrap with chips and got some sticky prawns on the side. The prawns were to die for, best I’ve ever had honestly. Chips were also great, wish I’d have gone for the surf and turf tbh, as I love rice and was in a rush ordering, but I’m really happy with what I got anyway. Will definitely be back when I’m back in Manchester :) would recommend

We stopped in Manchester for the night and looked up restaurants. I ended up getting the Mixed Box and and chose the sticky chicken and beef chicken with the sweet and sour sauce. If I ate here again, I would just get the sticky chicken with the sweet and sour sauce. We took it back to our hotel because it’s very busy. I suggest popping in, so good!

As someone from Hong Kong, I'm pleasantly surprised this nostalgic Cantonese salt and pepper flavour is banging hot here. The S&P wings are well fried and they're just the same as what I had back in my old days. And they also put in actual effort into wok-tossing to perfectly flavour the fries (should be named "chips" in the UK though).

Quality has gone way down hill since the arndale. Not filled the same amount, tofu deflated, too salty and half the sauces had ran out. Also utterly chaotic in there, hard to hear and make an order.

Delicious. Big portions. Free dipping sauces from pump bottles at the counter. They take your order and you get a flashing device that calls you over once your food is ready. There's seating available but be prepared to share with others.

Fast food made with love. Super nice! I ordered “The Trilogy” and the quality was exceptional. Place decorated in a sober but attractive way. Everything from 10!! ❤️

the food is well seasoned and service is perfect always quite busy tho but other then that 10/10 !!!!
