Called in here yesterday for a takeaway lunch, ham salad baguette. Lovely fresh ham and plenty of it, with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, coleslaw and mayonnaise with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Husband had a savoury tuna baguette with all the salad. Best baguette I have ever had!

Fantastico, coronation chicken sandwich with salad in, first class bread, superb chicken and very fresh salad, absolutely loverly! What makes it even better is the very friendly nature and jovial crack of the staff!

Got two lovely brown baguettes with butter and generously filled. Added two scones and a tea and latte. Lovely tasty juicy halved baguettes, and refreshing drinks. The Staff were so pleasant and helpful. I first visited Julie’s nearly 30 years ago and I’ve never been disappointed in what I’ve bought. The cost was £13.20 although only cash is taken

Always loads of choice, nice big sandwiches, quick service, good price. You just don't get sandwich places like this anymore so lap it up like a thirsty cat at milk time.

A super little sandwich shop,with a massive choice of fresh fillings and home made cakes. Lovely, helpful staff to help you choose. You can also ring and order if your short of time.

This is a very popular sandwich shop, so if you go around lunchtime, be prepared to wait a few minutes. All rolls and sandwiches are freshly made and there's a huge choice of fillings. They also do soup and baked potatoes and a good range of cakes. The staff are lovely ! Unfortunately they are not open at the weekend.

We were visiting Cockermouth for the day and decided to grab a sandwich for lunch. Julie's looked busy so we thought it must be good and went in.....what a choice of fillings! This has got to be one of the best sandwich shops that we have ever come across.....very tasty sandwiches and very nice staff...thanks.

I found Julie's on here and all the reviews were 5 stars and i can see why now the sandwiches/baggettes are so fresh and beyond tasty, this is a tiny shop and the que is always out the door but the ladies behind the counter always work hard to clear it with a smile on their face and a bit of banter on the side. Julie's was so nice we visited 5 times in 2 weeks making a 26 mile round trip just for a beautifully fresh sandwich. we had a ham sandwich on white, a chicken fajita on brown and 3 ham salad's on brown baggette (they even put coleslaw and egg in the ham salad) and the cost for all 5 items was £14. thanks ladies see you next year. i would recommend this little gem to anyone.

Julie's is the best eatery in the entire world, quick, friendly and delicious! If you go there enough the ladies remember your order and it is just excellent. My only fault with Julie's is that it isn't open on Saturdays!

by far the nicest bunch of ladies you could wish to meet. Working from a little shop on the high street they manage to produce wonderful food of all types from sandwiches and soup to baked potatoes covered in goodies - always a queue here.

When family lived in the town we were frequent customers here... And when visiting the town today, called in for a couple of their lovely sandwiches... Made right infront of you, by lovely staff, there is a fantastic range of scrummy fillings... Does get really busy during the dinner time rush, but worth it... Then eat them on the seats down by the river

Esta pequeña tienda produce algunos de los mejores sandwiches y lleno rollos que he tenido, Nd es una excelente relación calidad-precio. El personal es muy amable y te hará un sandwich, corte que desea, lo envuelve y te ofrecen una bolsa de compañía. . A favourite of my mine for a lunch time, baked potato with Prawns and Salad. Also offers a wide range of Sandwiches and lovely home maid soup. Worth going in for the Banter alone!

... and at Julie's you get exactly what you ask for... made and prepared fresh on he spot... all with a bit of banter thrown in for free. A wide selection of freshly baked breads & tasty choices of local fillings are order of the day at Julie's as well as a fine choice of homemade tray bakes too.At Julie's they make you a packed-lunch like it should be... filling and fresh and excellent value for money, almost as though you'd made it yourself...

Great service from the ladies here. We had baguettes with very tasty fillings. I had a lovely scone too. Good place to get your picnic food.

We bought assorted sandwiches for three people at Julie's last week, and it proved to be a good choice. It's a tiny place, just a counter with an array of sandwich filling components and space for two or three ladies behind it to make up the sarnies, and a few customers in front. The fillings available are straightforward and fairly plain, but you can choose any combination you like, and they're piled generously into whatever type of bread you've chosen. They aren't as sophisticated or interesting as Marks & Sparks' best, but as honest, good-value food they're excellent - just the thing to keep you going on the fells!

This isn't just the most amazing place in the town, or the county. I strongly believe that this is the most amazing little shop in the entire world and I would recommend everyone tries it. Even if you are a fussy eater there will be something for you at a VERY VERY good price. I come here every week and never once been let down. 11/10

I would never go anywhere else for a homemade sandwich. Fresh rolls and ingredients all made in the shop. I always ask for half and half and it's never a problem all the staff are friendly and helpful Love this place

Lovely friendly staff, wide choice of fillings, don't scrimp on the fillings either. I come here all the time wouldn't go anywhere else.

The ultimately customisable baguette done exactly as you want with ant filling you want - eat your heart out subway! Everything fresh and homemade, as are the excellent cakes. Throw in soup, coffee and the kitchen sink and why would you go anywhere else? Lovely staff too.

This place is absolutely amazing. I am never dissapointed whatsoever. Although I do get the same thing every time, there is loads of things to choose from and they make your sandwich up right infront of you. If it is busy don't let this put you off as the wait is totally worth it. The cakes are all home made and delicious too.Very cheap place to grab a bite to eat, in not many places will you be able to get an amazing sandwich or baguette, a drink and a cake for under £5.Julie's is the place to go, shame they don't stay open abit later.

Went in to get a sandwich when my normal place was closed and was pleasantly surprised. Great selection lovely homemade food and went back the next day for more!! Highly recommended

The staff were very friendly and helpful, everything was made to order, we were spoilt for choice and ended up having a wonderful picknick at the Cockermouth Memorial Gardens with fresh and delicious baguettes!

They say that when you are visiting somewhere and want food, look for where the locals eat.If this is true, then Julie's is awesome as the queue is usually out of the door but don't left this put you off as there are around 5-6 lovely ladies working away to make your sandwich / Panini right in front of you and exactly how you want it.Spot on!!! :o)

Just perfect... they make them fresh in front of you... and just the way you want it and exactly what you want and well the banter is second to none... I go there for the entertainment and what the girls don't know about the town isn't worth knowing.. always a pleasure... xx

One Lady Owner who cares about what she serves up.Try egg mayo on brown with crispy bacon tell your eating partners,No talking. Biting into this is an Orgasmic experience best enjoyed in total silence.Yes I kid you not To add to the Joy add a Grab Bag of Walkers plain crisps.

Julies is a hidden gem of a sandwich shop nestled away at one end of Main Street. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the selection of sandwiches on offer caters for all tastes. Julie has a knack of combining the obscure to create some real winning choices which are always a hit with her regulars. The selection isn't restricted to just sandwiches even though them alone would be worthy of such high praise but the shop also offers a range of other lunchtime favourites from salad boxes to jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings plus a choice of soups and home made cakes
