We went for breakfast and it was great. Calm and clean. The food classical and good. The service very good also.

just had breakfast here this morning.used to here a lot when it was under different management.the food is great and the service is non short of brilliant.was served by a lovely waiter called eno.the whole vibe here is warm and welcoming and nurturing . i was quite taken back what they could do with such a simple thing as beans.flavoured with oregano.wow is an under statement.totally recommend this place and i will be back.a lovely little haven of peace and tranquility away from the crowds of portobello road. 5 stars all round

We have been to Julians Kitchen two times since it has recently opened and have been really pleased with Julians menu, food and over all efforts. Reading some of the reviews, I can't say I agree at all with "the prices being too high". The quality, presentation and most importantly, how delicious each dish has been, Julians is very reasonably priced and a lot cheaper than many restaurants in the area, providing similar menu's. This place is a delight to dine at too as Julian is great at looking after you, explaining the menu, food and what wines may accompany certain dishes. He puts his heart and soul into this new restaurant and deserves 5 stars for sure ;)

This has a good local vibe, sadly the cooking does not match the prices. The crab linguine had shell in and whilst tasty enough did not warrant the price. Julian is charming and has pedigree but I think he is missing the mark. The menu is simple and tasty but too expensive with the likes of Orasay up the road cooking exceptional dishes for similar prices. If adjusted this could work as a good local restaurant

As a fairly regular diner at Julian's,I was pleasantly surprised to note a few subtle menu changes of late. I opted for a Chicken Milanese with linguine in tomato sauce, accompanied by some sautéed mushrooms. Absolutely delightful. The chicken was both moist and tender, the crumb was crisp yet light, and the linguine richly coated in a beautiful tomato sauce. My portion of mushrooms was equally a delight. A couple of glasses of impressively floral Albariño to accompany it were just superb!! My pudding,a homemade tiramisu, rounded off the meal amply, being both satisfyingly textured and not overly coffee laden. All in all another triumph, and one that made me glad to have chosen Julian's for this evenings meal. Possibly a little biased,as an already regular customer, but this local eatery goes from strength to strength. Heartily recommend a visit- soon!!

I dined at Julian's Kitchen this weekend and I have to say it was rather lovely. Genuine warm hospitality from Julian and his team and great food! The menu is perfect and to the point, the kind of food you want to eat! The portobello mushroom side is a MUST!.We had lovely crispy squid with spicy tartare, salamis, then Rib eye which was juicy and really tasty and cooked to perfection. They also offer brunch and breakfast. I would highly recommend you check this place out if in the Portobello area, you won't be disappointed.

Unpretentious great spot where one can unwind after a whirlwind of market hopping in the area. The pastel de nata was truly something to go with that spectacular coffee.

We’d visited P Howard’s former restaurant, The Square, and as soon as we realised he’s the owner of this restaurant, we made a booking, given the extraordinary meals we had at The Square in the past.
