Hello, Me and my wife came for breakfast and the service was very slow and the waiter was mumbling and overall had a mardy tone, would not be returning

I come to The Courtyard every week with my friends. The service is incredible and the staff are so friendly and they always make sure we are okay with everything. I always have a sweet chilli wrap and homemade chips and they are the best in Wickersley. I recommend this place to everyone.

We had afternoon tea it was not very selective and sandwiches where not very good I thought considering it's a situated in beautiful environment it's really was quite poor it cost nearly £100 for the 4 of us so would of expected a decent selection

The staff were very friendly professional and helpful. We had a Marvelous time in a beautiful bistro with great ambience. The food was delicious and well presented. All my food intolerances were observed and accommodated . We had a fantastic time

My friend had booked a meal , we turned up only to be told they were busy and we should go to the gaslight restaurant , I was shocked that our table was given to someone else and how nonchalant the young girl was about the situation, my friend said this has happened before when she booked , well I won't be returning! On the plus side we had a lovely catch up for my birthday at the gaslight and the staff were polite and the atmosphere friendly, they got our money and the food was lovely

This morning I was due to visit with 2 friends at 10am. I have a puppy so I tried to call from 9am at opening up to 9.45am before I set off and no answer. I left a message but no reply. I checked trip advisor and it said dog friendly as are most places now. When I arrived my friends were sat inside and waiting for drinks. I asked if I was OK to bring dog in they said only outside. Well it's February and 5 degrees. I mentioned I had called and Trip Advisor said dog friendly but all I got was yes just outside. I said well it needs to be made clear. What upset me the most was not that I had to leave but, not one member of staff came out to me to apologise for not answering phone or that Trip Advisor was misleading. Totally ignored and humillillating. My friend came out to hold the dog whilst I went in to say hello to my other friend and still nothing from staff 🙃. Totally disappointed 😞

Amazing food and also perfect service

Went for a drink with family, place was busy, we sat in the outdoor seating area. The heat lamps weren't working so it was quite cold. The drink were VERY sweet from the Christmas menu but overall, a nice place.

Large enough to allow just coffee but still a cozy atmosphere. Very good decor and good soft background music. Really relaxing.

The Courtyard is a gorgeous place with excellent staff. I came the other day with my friend and the service was incredible. There was two young girls working, who looked like they enjoyed working there which is lovely to see, and they were both so lovely and ensured we were happy with everything. The food was also delicious, I would definitely recommend.

the young girl who works behind the bar is absolutely incredible, i’ve never seen someone with such good service, she is so quick and brilliant at her job. if you come here i would definitely want to be served by her.

Fabulous place for coffee cake or brunch never disappointed.

We had travelled from Huddersfield as we had gift vouchers to use. We were very well received and the lady who greeted us was keen to ensure we enjoyed our visit and got maximum value for money .If we underspent on our vouchers we were offered a bag of cheese scones to take away .The choice of brunch was a little limited but the quality was superb as food is freshly baked and prepared . The service throughout was excellent . We hope they open a bistro a bit nearer to Huddersfield as we would definitely recommend and attend again .

20 friends came here for a baby shower-afternoon tea. The food was lovely.staff were friendly,especially an older lady with dark hair,she was so nice.she made such a fuss over the children. Lovely afternoon

Would like to give it 1 star as on a night out one of my friends ordered a cocktail and after the first sip said that isn’t made correctly can I have another which resulted in an argument with the bar lady who then asked the security to leave prompting a scuffle outside and a few strikes by said security. Terrible experience bar is run by incompetent staff and clowns for security will not go again

Excellent customer service, the staff are so friendly and welcoming :) The food was by far the nicest around! I had the omelette, and it was the best I have ever had! Really enjoyed the coffee as well :) It was nice that the staff came after and asked how our breakfast was. Nice little touch :)

Only had a coffee whilst waiting for my wife. Staff very friendly.

Lovely bar area, clean and well presented . Friendly staff. However, on arrival . We waited at the table for a while and when nobody served us , we ordered food and drinks at the bar. We then waited another 30 mins, and had to ask when our order was going to arrive. (Food and drinks!)The young girl told us it would be another 15 mins. The food arrived eventually, but we then had no cutlery, condiments etc to eat it with,for another five mins. Other customers were complaining and others walked out as they didn’t get served. All I heard as an excuse was that there was only one chef. Surely people need to know if there is going to be a delay as time is often limited at lunch time. Such a shame as if the service was better, it could all have been more pleasurable and a better rating.

Me and my partner where passing by one evening and wanted to use the loo and this was refused due to my partner wearing shorts?! Even by the manager who was by the way drinking on shift ! We certainly won’t be returning, so so rude

booked a table for 2.15 on arrival was told we hadn't booked .when she found that we had booked she said not much food left and a long wait for food . take a seat anywhere we will get to you for drinks order every table was full of dirty crockery . Sat there 20minutes got up walked out . Won't be returning

The last twice I have been on a Saturday morning it has been very understaffed, only 2 staff, we were waiting more than 30 minutes to be seen and orders taken,and I saw 2 couples walk out, the first week had many tables reserved but only 2 staff on,

Had a night out in wickersley, this was our last stop. Good music, tend to get middle aged people do it’s not a rough pub like some. Modern , outdoor seating area , small bar area for the number of customers so service can be slow, understandable as it’s a nice place and gets busy. Only negative feedback, the male toilet is tiny and always disgusting, urine on the floor and glasses just left in the urine area. Generally speaking though, it’s one of the better pubs/bars in this area

We came for the drag night event, and 2 course meal in seasons, it was absolutely amazing! It was a brilliant act and lovely attentive staff, thank you 😊

Just had a Father's day breakfast and it was absolutely beautiful! They were very flexible with the children's food, it was all really delicious, and the staff were great. We even had our entire bill knocked off because of delays with the food due to a till issue (we didnt mind - these things happen!) despite saying we were happy to pay! So bonus it was free! Thank you for a great breakfast, we'll be 100% returning 😊

Saturday afternoon drinks, great place to meet, reasonable drinks and food service. Toilets are compact.. Great outdoor seating with heating if you need it. Dancefloor available of you feel in the mood and good selection of music was played.

Always lovely food( simply the best chips!). Good menu choices,I like the lite bite options as then there's room for cake! Service was a little haphazard but it was a busy lunchtime.

I booked a table for 11.30. When we arrived I was told the breakfast menu had ended and could I wait until 12pm for the lunch menu. Our party sat down and were not asked if we wanted a drink for 30 minutes. After being seated for 40 minutes I asked if we could order food. I was then told that staff were busy cleaning the kitchen! Another member of staff took our food order after being seated for over an hour. I will say that the food was delicious however I will not be returning due to the service.

This lovely eaterie is always a pleasure be it breakfast or lunch. The food is home cooked delicious & presented lovely. The prices are more than reasonable & the staff exceptionally lovely. Friend asked for extra coke and lemon in their drink, bar staff had attitude and decided to pour half the bottle of lemon inside whilst laughing to her colleague. Very immature. We called out her behaviour, which she did not like to take responsibility for, female manager then come over and did not even acknowledge her staffs behaviour, she asked the bouncers to remove us. Similar to other experiences at this place. The ginger bouncer then decided to hit one of us, and then ran inside scared. He was asked to come back outside but he had his tail between his legs after acting like such a big man. Would not recommend this place. The people that work their need to look at their ego and get mental health support because they are psychopaths.

Popped in for lunch on 29/09/23. Booked previously (essential). I had a steak sandwich with caramelised onion, my guest had a quiche which I believe was a cheese, mushroom and spinach. We shared a plate of chips The food, wine 🍷 (Rose Zinfandel) was excellent as was the service However, not to the establishment. Please change the chocolate disc served with the bill. It was truly awful, very powdery and bland. Took the edge off an otherwise perfect meal, hence dropping a star.

The DJ is shocking Playing random songs miss mass.... The sound is awful too! Doesn't sound like the records. Truly dismal who plays dancing queen then a rap song.

My sister and i really enjoyed our lunch at the Courtyard. The food was lovely and very pleasant to eat al fresco .

Have frequented The Courtyard generally for breakfast/brunch but we had lunch and we were not disappointed. The menu choice was great and we had to deliberate but in the end opted for the salmon fishcakes (fabulous) and quiche of the day which my friend much enjoyed. It was busy with a nice vibe. Could recommend. Both outdoor and indoor seating. Good value, great food.

Food was nice, the service was very slow. Long time to order, no smile from the waitress. Long wait for food and no one around to get more drinks either. When the food did arrive the waitress dashed off so fast not asking if we wanted any condiments, we had to get up 3 times to ask and we had finished our food before they arrived. Disappointing for a place that could very easily be a 10/10.

Lovely bar, been here several times, perfectly situated in a courtyard around other bars and restaurants in this popular area. Nice food, fab drinks, perfect for a sunny day outside seating. Definitely recommend. Very popular on Friday/Saturday nights and has a quiz on Wednesdays!

Visited Friday lunch with Friend 1st time . The place is stunning sat inside as its cold out .The outside seating area looks very inviting . Food and service both good. I know they was busy but maybe clear tables sooner ..we left with our plates still on table. Not from the area but well worth a visit again .

Great atmosphere and good service/drink options. We visited in the evening and it is usually busy and clearly popular.

The place itself was really nice, but the staff were not attentive at all. We had to ask for menus 5 minutes after we sat down, asked for things to be removed due to dietary requirements and they were not removed and were told we could swap items and had extras added to the bill. Food was ok but nothing spectacular.

We hired The Courtyard for a private event today and it was perfect from start to finish. Accommodating staff who were friendly, polite and a pleasure to deal with. Hannah who organised the event was a delight, nothing was too much trouble and I was able to text her which was a god send when you’re busy. Afternoon tea was 5* and served promptly and the service was impeccable. They even boxed one up for someone who had to leave early. We will definitely be returning for any future events. 5*****

Came this weekend for drinks with friends and I have to say it’s the place to be on a Saturday night in Wickersley. Welcoming, fast service, great selection of drinks and the music caters to all ages groups. We will definitely be back.

Very disappointed with the staff book a table for four people over the telephone for my nieces 21st just phoned just to confirm just to make sure they didn't put me into their system I left my contact details my name I want specific Table near a window that was all confirmed and then told me there was no booking in my name very disorganised

Had a fantastic lunch here on Friday - the steak sandwich was delicious and my friend loved the fish cakes. However the best part was The staff - they were friendly smiley and helpful Nothing was too much trouble

Great quiz night. Two and half hours of entertainment and chicken and chips in a basket for £5. A nice venue that seems to be working hard at providing a range of entertainment on different nights. Very good quiz master who kept the night going.

We used to be regular visitors here and returned yesterday for a friends Christmas lunch. On arrival at 12 we were shown to our table, which had menus for breakfast and afternoon tea (neither of which were available), but not lunch. Our drinks order was taken, but 25 minutes after arrival we had to go to the counter to order our food. There seemed to be three staff serving, but two kept disappearing out the back leaving one young girl rushing round a full restaurant. We kept smelling cigarette smoke from the back too. We both had quiche, chips and salad, but the quiche was cold and disappointing - very little cheese. Staff were friendly enough, but slow clearing used cups, plates etc. We had cake for dessert which was nice and well presented. Maybe we were unlucky, but with so much local competition we won't rush back.

Lovely meal and waiting staff. Popular venue. Soon got busy and only 2 serving. They coped admirably. Was very cold inside though. Radiator problems I believe. Very busy area re parking but nice boutique shops and cafés close by.

We arrived for afternoon tea and found the decor very pleasant . The venue was clean and well cared for. Things looked well organized . The venue was not busy . Afternoon tea is a favourite past time of my friend and I , we have visited many different places . We had high hopes . However, the offering in this establishment was very disappointing . Quite basic and mean. Not up to the standard expcted for the price charged . We had six tiny finger sandwiches between us . A little lettuce to decorate the plate . No savoury . The scones were also very tiny, not as large as the pots of clotted cream beside them. My scone was also quite well done., so a litle hard . We did get two pots of decent jam but as the scones were so small we did not use it all . There were also two pats of butter , which we did not use . The cake tier was minimalistic . Four tiny squares of cake, probably shop bought . Each square was about one inch across . Decoration was a few blueberries and one strawberry, cut in half. The waitress brought two pots of tea but only when we requested it. We were told that we could have a refill , when ready . However, we found out that this consisted of being asked if my friend wanted more water pouring onto her existing tea bag . I just got a pot of hot water , without being asked . No Earl Grey tea was available , as they had run out earlier in the week. In adition, we did purchase two glasses of prosecco which was pleasant . In our opinion, the experience was not one to be repeated . Very , very poor value for money .

Great staff, great food and wonderfully helpful chef who came out to give some advice to an aspiring young cook for their GCSE food tech menu. Can't thank the team enough.
