Went here with my husband and a friend for post-parkrun breakfast/brunch. Although vegan options were not marked up on the menu, we asked about vegan options and the lady was very accommodating. She was very careful and checked with us about allergies. Great attention to detail and care, even checking about chocolate sprinkles on the capuccinos and assuring us that there was no milk in the bread they used for toast. Impressed as most places don't go to that extent. Very pleasant experience and great full English (vegan) breakfast. Highly recommend!

We live in Market Rasen and decided to go out for lunch on a wet day. Arrived about 12:15 and almost had the pick of tables although the place soon filled up...Friendly staff and plenty of them. Good choice from sandwiches & baguettes to full cooked meals. Fish, chips & mushy peas for me the wife had Ham, egg & chips with tea for 2 which was nice and strong with extra jug of water to top up with...All arrived in good time cooked to order and piping hot. Lovely home made chips, I suspect hand cut as all different shapes and sizes. Meals were like "home made". Nothing fancy but a nice clean place with friendly staff at a reasonable price...We won't need to make any tea tonight.

We found this cafe whilst walking along the High Street and decided yo give it a try. A warm welcome from staff even though it was busy. It is very clean and well spaced between tables. Food was all cooked/ prepared on order, home made chips which were very nice. The mini brunch was great as were the sandwiches which had a good amount of filling. It is well worth a visit.

Our party of ten really received excellent service and enjoyed our Christmas meal today. Vegetarian diet was catered for along with alternative vegetables for the sprout haters. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The plates and food were hot, all the food was delicious. You can choose one, two, or three courses which is then followed by a hot drink. We liked the range of puddings available.

We have been to Jossals many times before covid however this was our first return in over 2 years. I must say the food and service remains just as good as it was. Sunday lunch is such good value, the food is all home cooked and prepared freshly in the kitchen and the service is so friendly. For a sunday lunch there is a large choice of roasts and pie all served with mash roasts and other vegitables. We did find room for sweets and I would suggest trying the tiramasu , one of the best ive eaten and again made by the restuarant. If youre in the area and fancy a filling tradtional sunday lunch go here. The place was quite full but maintained a calm atmosphere. It was really good to see the staff still taking covid precautions and ensuring all the tables were properly cleaned after use. Thanks guys.

Arrived just before 11 for coffee and some breakfast, the lady showed us to a table but expressed a bit of concern that the table was reserved from 12:30 and they would need it back a few minutes before to clean. I was initially surprised that 1.5 hours was tight for time to do a couple of sandwiches and 2 coffees only to be told at ordering that it might be tight and we might have to move table, the reason the same lady serving had sat down outside , AFTER our arrival, 11 cyclists and had chosen to take their order first and was now telling us that we would have to wait until after them. Obviously we made life easier for everyone and left! It’s a real shame.

First class cafe for a cycle ride stop. Plenty of space and outside covered and uncovered seating around the back. Without asking we were told we could fill out water bottles at the tap and offered plastic bags to cover our saddles as it was raining. Excellent service, good food and tea by the pot. Extra hot water and sugar brought without having to ask. Good covid precautions in operation. We recommend this cafe without any reservations.

We found this superb eatery when visiting Market Rasen during our holiday. The staff are really lovely and the food simply delicious. I had the special which was roast pork with all the trimmings, wife had lasagne and chips, son had scampi and chips. The dessert selection is incredible. What a choice! Outside the local area,Market Rasen is on the radar of all horse racing enthusiasts. After an oversight stop at the amazing Olive hotel and Tapas bar,I experienced a great breakfast at Jossals including the tastiest sausages I have ever had. These were a limited edition Lincolnshire sausage from a specialist butcher in Cleethorpes. The herbs, and the sage in particular, gave it a real bite and the meat content was spot on. On top of a really tasty breakfast cooked to perfection the service here was second to none. We find a lot of places don’t understand how young children eat. This place bought our little ones food out a little earlier to give it time to cool down so he could eat with us. They had special cutlery for him and knew that you can’t put hot food in front of a small child. These may be small things but that really made the difference from great service to exceptional service.

We very quickly decided to have lunch, my mother and I had the special which was baked ham with parsley sauce, minted new potatoes, peas and buttered swede, it was beautiful .. My husband and father had Lincolnshire sausage with proper Yorkshire puddings and veg which they said delicious .. And the deserts WOW .. 1 had a Danish apple crumble and cream (with a choice of thick or pouring) while another had spotted dick the other lemon sponge and myself the baked jam roly poly with what can only be described as the best custard I've ever tasted.... This visit was no exception.I and my mum in law both had the Local Ham egg and chips and my wife, who doesn't normally eat lamb had the lamb meatballs which were the daily special. All 3 of us sent back clean plates. My wife called the meatballs delicious, and the local ham together with a suitably runny egg (just right) was super. We have never been disappointed with any of the meals we have had there, but it can get busy, so it's often necessary to book.In addition to the good meals, the staff are always friendly and prepared to go out of their way to assist customers. Had lunch for the first time here at the weekend, menu looked good with a fair amount of veggie stuff for my better 7/8, encouraged by the fact it was busy always a good sign. Cheerful friendly waitress got two mugs of tea for us and chatted very knowledgably about the menu, and how virtually everything was home made. I went for haddock and chips which was £7.50 and well worth the money, nice fish, lots of chips and mushy peas, if that had been a certain pub near me I would have got half the amount and paid over a tenner! Partner had goats cheese and red onion Panini, which came with lots of crisps and massive salad, also excellent, neither of u s could manage a pud which was a shame because they looked wonderful. Toilets are in need of a bit of tlc but were very clean. Very popular (speaks for itself) worth booking for Sundays etc.The daily specials are well worth a look and excellent value, especially roast meats.Very good range of choices and even happy to do "specials" when young granddaughter was going through "picky"stage.Very traditionally English, it does not claim to be a gourmet experience, but I have had better food here than in expensive London "names".House wines OK and fair value. Handy but small car park at rear.

Had an excellent evening, all the dishes were individual, different with the chefs twist and cooked to a very high standard. My wife had tuna steak and I had Thai moules, desserts were all home made. The portions were very generous and reasonably priced. Will certainly return.

We were in the area visiting a friend of ours, when we popped into Jossals for a spot of light lunch. We weren't disappointed. The place was clean, staff were extremely friendly and we were surprised by the wide selection of food. We enjoyed it so much, that we went to Jossals for breakfast the following morning and enjoyed that too. Thank you Jossals.

We had thought of eating in the Advocate Arms across the road but there was no lunch menu on sight and a sign asking for 24 hours notice booking an afternoon tea! It did not bode well. So we went once again to Jossals, our regular stop over on holidays to Lincolnshire. Previous reports do not do full justice to this wonderful place. It describes itself as a bistro and coffee shop and there is no lunch menu on the website so you really have to go there to get the picture. It is old fashioned in a thoroughly good way.The food is classic, traditional British and done so well at a reasonable price. My steak and ale pie ( the menu tells you it comes with pastry top and bottom) excelled: crispy, short pastry, large chunks of tender, tasty meat. It was served with creamy mash and fresh vegetables. My wife's haddock and chips had the crispiest of batter. Puddings are a roll call of all-time favourites. We had light, eggy bread and butter pudding and a sherry trifle, both of which were first class. When you get food like this you know traditional British cooking is in safe hands. We will be back before the holiday is over.

Had a very nice breakfast, staff were nice, everything was cooked from fresh, a nice day so we sat outside with the dog in a garden area. Chairs are a little on small side, would return if I was in the area

I called in with a friend today, 29th June, at about 3.15 p.m for the first visit. It was recommended to us by a local business. Although they were closing at 4.00, the young man greeted us warmly. We chose to eat an all day breakfast and am so happy we did. I had been to the dentist, and so had not eaten all day, so I really enjoyed my meal. It was delicious, well cooked and presented, and enormous. We were not make to feel we had to rush, which showed good customer service skills displayed by the young man who looked after us. He is a credit to the establishment. We will most certainly return to Jossals and we will recommend it to our friends. Thank you so much

One of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in many months. We went on impulse to celebrate my partner’s birthday yesterday evening, having had a very bad experience there in the past when it was owned by someone different. The food was superb and the service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended and we’ll most definitely be going again

We sadly lost a family member and contacted the Black Horse to host the wake. From point of contact with Josh to the actual event, was dealt with professionally and with sympathy. On the day it went smoothly and we were welcomed warmly. We were taken care of the entire time and the buffet that was laid out for us was beyond expectations. Even with a late add on of numbers, which was despite the lateness not a problem. The supply of constant tea and coffee was welcomed by our guests. Cannot fault or thank the team enough for their attention and care of our family in a difficult time.
