I read a review that gave Jo's a score of 1, apparently after seeing a rat and every bad thing that you could possibly find, that review is a total fabrication, shame on you. I have started using Jo's as I always seem to be passing at the weekends, from my first visit a month ago until today the Service has been pleasant, prompt and professional. The food is as good as I get at home, well presented and value for money. The premises are clean, in good order, the Staff are pleasant and caring, they want repeat business after all. I now consider myself to be a " Regular Customer".

RATS IN KITCHEN- I WONT BE EATING HERE AGAIN. Stinks off fat and cobwebs everywhere. Staff have really bad attitudes. Unsafe building. Toilets dirty. Dangerous place for kids and pets. Not disabled friendly. Noisey track next to so called cafe.

The staff here are always friendly, despite how busy they get they’ve always got a smile on and can’t do enough for you (and a busy place says it must be good). The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and full of beans (sorry about the pun). Lovely setting inside & out. Highly recommend this place!!!

Highly recommended. We found Jo's Cafe as a breakfast stop on the way home from Rye. Very clean interior, great menu choices and food was freshly cooked and great quality. Family run and its show very welcoming and helpful. Seemed to be a cyclist and motorbike stop but welcomed us warmly.

I'm sure tea was lovely but ended up wearing it as the cap was far too big. Poor service. Strange setting next to a cult centre.

Have passed by Jo's Café several times while visiting Rye and decided to pop in It is based between Rye & Brooklands and looks a bit rough & ready. Be amazed! The food is all freshly cooked to order and of a very high standard. Nothing is too much trouble. Will certainly call again Well done girls

Disappointing for a 4.4 Rating I relied on the positive reviews (4.4/5), but what a disappointment… Positives: The staff were very friendly and attentive, which is always appreciated. The fish and chips were good, but nothing extraordinary—and a bit overpriced. Negatives: Dishes were quite basic, not what you’d expect from a restaurant with such a high rating. Big issue with the kids’ meals: they were served extremely hot, likely microwaved given how scorching they were. Thankfully, the waiter warned us: "Careful, the plate is hot." But what a lack of common sense to serve food at this temperature to children! My daughter is only 2 years old—she doesn’t understand such warnings. In the end, she had to eat from our plates and left her meal untouched. Really disappointing. Conclusion: Friendly service, but underwhelming food and a real lack of thought in some areas. I honestly don’t understand the high rating… Worth trying if you’re in the area, but don’t expect an unforgettable experience.

I was taken here for my birthday and we had one of the best meals of our lives. We had the 8 course tasting menu with paired wines. Every course was outstanding. My particular favourites were the Morels, with confit egg yolk, pickled mushrooms and celeriac and the buttermilk mousse with blood orange, Arbequina olive oil and apple marigold. The restaurant is fairly small and cosy, all the waitresses were lovely and helpful. They explained the meals well and the sommelier's description of the wines was very clear and helpful. The wines tended to be from small estates all over the world and were excellent without exception. The meal was expensive, but compared to other Michelin starred restaurants we have been to, it was very good value for money. The restaurant is in Saltwood on the edge of Hythe and it is a good idea to book a taxi back to where you are staying in good time as there are no local taxi services. I have been to a good number of one Michelin star restaurants and this one is well worth the second start it gained recently.
