Jon Le Chinese Takeaway in Canterbury

1st time using as I'm in the local premier inn up the road .. writing this after eating me food .. got to say its like old style Chinese full of flavour very happy with all .. will definitely be back when in area again

The gravy on our chips and bbq ribs tasted like marmite. Have been ordering from here for years and years. First time it’s been like this. At least the sweet and sour sauce is still very nice

I moved to Spain 22 years ago and before I went this was always my favourite Chinese takeaway. 22 years later I am back in the UK and so pleased that the food is as good as I remember. I highly recommend this Takeaway.

Again my order was not correct. My last order was wrong when I got it home. Yesterday I placed an order my husband collected it. I get a phone call when he got home to say they have not put an item in. Once I can understand but twice is not good especially when it's to far to go back. Won't be using them again

Lived in Beltinge for 20 years and always eaten Jon Lee and given 5* reviews but last night had Menu H4 plus extra ribs and 2 x chips and was disappointed with some dishes. The half duck was very small for 4 people, the special rice was mainly just rice and very claggy and the chicken satars meat very dry. The rest was excellent so hopefully a one off.

Come grab a Chinese after work. Great place lad. No longer living in the homeland. But, can't get a good Chinese in australia like you can up in Kent.

Ordered takeaway and food was lovely. Jon Le never disappoints us and always good service with fresh, hot food. Delivery driver very nice, smiley & friendly.

Moved from whitstable to beltinge just over 2 years ago, tried this Chinese then, sorry to say it was not good. But gave it another go last week and it has improved immensely, so good we had another one this week. Keep up the good work quality ingredients will bring customers in.

We have used this place on and off over the last nine years, and it has got progressively worse during this time. This evening we had a takeaway that was so vile, nasty, mean and absolutely lacking in any care about the fact that somebody had actually to eat it that we really will never go back there ever again.

Have consistently used Jon Le for 16 years and am never disappointed. Love the food, delicious and satisfying. Staff are pleasant and accommodating.

Tried the Thai menus disappointed with the sauce flavour more like chip shop curry mixed with veg and meat than actual Thai food that I have tried before.The mixed starter for 2 very average.Will not use again.

We have used this takeaway on several occasions and generally been very pleased with the food and service. The young lady on the counter could not be more helpful. However, yesterday I purchased three items including a Special Chow mein and a Chicken rice but found that the rice was like rice pudding and the chow mein consisted of a pot of noodles with a couple of prawns and some small pieces of unrecognisable meat, unlike the usual fayre they serve. I returned these items which the young lady took back into the kitchen and returned five minutes later with an apology. Again, I opened the cartoons to find the rice was exactly the same and, what appeared to be, the same Chow mein only now cold. I returned these items again and received a refund which was promptly spent at the excellent Beltinge Fish and Chip shop. Every business receives complaints and if delt with correctly can enhance their business but from this experience I will not be using Jon Le again for the foreseeable future.

Sorry but food totally overcooked, and fryed food cooked in stale oil

We've had takeaway a couple times and find it good, though mostly average. The service (one person at a takeaway counter) is nice and friendly.

We have been getting takeaways from the Jon Le for around 15 years . Often we order King Prawn In Salt&Pepper - it’s always been really nice . The KP inS&P we had tonight was vertically inedible - the prawns ( if that’s what they were ??!! ) were chewy , hard and tasteless and all that was in the carton with them was a few pieces of raw onion - absolutely shocking , terrible food . They should be ashamed to serve it

We go here a lot and have done for the last five or six years. We always spend over £25.00 for the two of us and have always had the complimentary prawn crackers. On this occasion we only spent around £15.00 as we were not too hungry and we received no prawn crackers, which was very disappointing, and the front of house lady looked at us very sheepishly when she handed over the food. She knows us and this was just really tight and just not very nice. The food here is at best average and full of MSG but it is the only takeaway we have in Beltinge. They need to value their customers a lot more - if there was somewhere like the Coconut Tree Noodle Bar or an Indian in Beltinge we would have no hesitation in going there, but as it is John Le is the best we have, and they should realise that the only reason they are ever busy is because there is nowhere else (apart from the dreadful fish and chip shop) for anybody local to go.

Jon let takeaway has been our favourite Chinese takeaway for a few years now. I can honestly say they never disappoint. Whenever my sister visits from London it's a Jon Le takeaway always.

We always use Jon Le Chinese Takeaway the food is great the portion sizes are great too. If you order to collect its always ready on time and piping hot.. The staff are lovely too.

This is my local takeaway and it’s fab! Friendly, family run business. You can phone through orders for collection or just pop in and wait. They don’t deliver but if you you are local, it’s not a problem.

Best Chinese meal I've had for a long time

Always good food and prompt service would recommend as one of the best Chinese takeaways. The menu is very varied but always very tasty.

The finger food from here is always amazing, the dishes from here however are not much to write home about. I had the chicken Chinese style and a chow mein and they were pretty bland. Also, they need to start delivering. I would order a bucket load of the salt and pepper ribs if they would bring them to me.

La primera vez que hemos comido de esta para llevar durante una estancia con sus padres en la ley. Nos limitamos a los favoritos usuales, y así son capaces de medidor contra otros llevar. Aquí está un resumen desal y pimienta Ribs-The mejores que he probado con cebolla fresca primavera y chili. Este debe ser su plato.Crujientes algas demasiado sal y azúcar hizo casi incomible.Salsa barbacoa costillas en - para morirse, y una buena parte de tamaño.Gambas tostadas - excelente con un recubrimiento de pasta de gambas.Dulce y agria pelotas de pollo - de nuevo, el mejor que he tenido. Excelentes piezas de pollo de pechuga con no demasiada pasta,carne con alubias negras y pimienta verde = No está mallos dos platos de chop suey" al platillo que tuvimos fueron un desastre. Se acercara más de un bean y sopa de carne con remojado demasiado líquido. Todas las verduras en un color había tomado enfermizo amarillo y hecha. Este plato debe ser crujientes y crujiente con brotes de soja, brotes de bambú y cebolla.En resumen bien arroz, elegir los platos y te tratan mal, elija el y puede ser decepcionado. Esperemos que los llevar leer este y aplicará un fix. Si no me estará encantada de viajar las tres horas y media para probar de nuevo.

We go here probably once a month. We would never go anywhere else now. Lovely hot food. Quick to collect. Never disappoints. Friendly staff. Food ready when they say.

After trying many chinese takeaway in Herne bay this one's the best . Never had a bad meal here.very good service and they are very friendly.

The food from here is "average". I do go here when my other favourite Chinese is closed. The food is quite bland, and the curries don't really taste as they should. But it's convenient and I haven't really a great deal to say about it.

Todo estaba caliente, muy bien cocinados y volveremos sin duda allí de nuevo. aceptan tarjetas pero espera un pequeño cargo 50 p/ £1 dependiendo de pasar. La comida no era demasiado caro.

When we want a Chinese takeaway we always use Jon Le Chinese Takeaway. The food is varied, always ready when they say it is and it is always very hot. We have never had a ad takeaway and you can always trust the food to be good. This is in my opinion one of the best Chinese takeaways in Herne Bay. Why not give it a try.

Have tried most Chinese restaurants in the 'bay' but this is our favourite. The food is well prepared and flavoursome - the owners are friendly and on the one occasion in the many, many times we have used the takeaway and had a 'complaint', the issue was resolved quickly and graciously which in my opinion, speaks volumes. Great stuff

We ordered takeaway for 10 people. It was really lovely. There wasn't anything left and everyone enjoyed there meals. We ordered a variety of bit's which all came in plastic containers, hot. Great food, good value. A must!

Pretty average Chinese takeaway, nothing wrong with the food and nothing exceptionally good either. Definitely better than some others in the area.

Jon Lee never fails to impress - great food, well prepared with great flavours. Have tried others but always come back to this one. Verdict: Excellent.

Always busy, always consistently good chinese food- welcoming and family run.Pays to phone your order through at weekends as always plenty of others that do and obviously means you wait if you simply turn up to order. They dont deliver which is a shame , but can understand why, as this may affect quality if more demand is created.The best chinese in my view in the Herne bay area.
