! Sé que es Bath, pero vamos.

We wanted a quick coffee, after shopping g in this shop ,we were directed down a dirty neglected staircase to the coffee shop ,after waiting to be seated we were asked what we wanted reasonable quickly, that's where the word quick ended. We waited and waited if it had been busy ok but most people had their drinks just after we arrived, we went to use the grotty loo and after 30 minutes gave up our wait for our drinks . My daughter told the waiter we were giving up waiting and he just said OK. Not the service we used to get here they need an adult to run this place not students.

Came across Jolly’s when in the department store that it’s situated in - well presented food, friendly staff and quirky decor with hanging cups in the windows. Not the best afternoon tea you’ll ever have, but decent choice to stop off for a break.

We had an early (and light) lunch at Jolly's. The food was very good - poached eggs cooked to perfection and served as soon as they were ready. Service was prompt and attentive, and the menu was sufficiently varied for all tastes. We didn't try the cakes, but there was an extensive selection on offer. Proper leaf tea too! The only drawback was that only a single toilet is available - short queues formed several times during our visit when the tea room was around 60% full, so this will be worse during peak times. All in all, a lovely experience and we will be back...

We visited this tea room as it looked so attractive as we walked past. Although the decor was good, the coffee was on the weak side (Americans) and the background music was awful. When using the one customer toilet, I was shocked at how shabby it was, with pealing wall paper and not even a mirror. Won’t bother to return.

Whilst visiting Bath, we called into the department store Jolly’s. It was then we decided to have afternoon tea. Down stairs is Jolly’s tea room, a very well decorated tea room for that special occasion. The cream teas were delightful and scrumptious with pot of English tea. There are other cakes that look pretty good too. This is a special tea room for cream tea.

Despite no queue and the requirement to wait to be seated it took a while to be seated. When seated we got fed up of waiting to be served and so walked to the counter where we were told a waitress would be with us soon and a waitress followed us back to the table to take our order .. with attitude! The coffee took another 20 minutes plus but was delivered by a young girl who was delightful. Just as well the place wasn’t busy !!!! My husband and I visited these tea rooms Monday 16 Sept. Lunch time, it wasn't overly busy, one male and two females on duty, my husband had soup and I chose gateau, I asked about the gateau but no staff appeared to know what fruit was decorating the top, after three visits by waitress to the table I said I would have it whatever! My husband's soup arrived but no gateau for me ! I waited and waited in the end my husband had to go to the desk and ask when I would be getting it.We are both disabled and don't appreciate having to run after staff!! The man who appeared to be in charge and the two waitresses obviously need much more training!! I would have thought better of a Jollys tea room. I would also mention that the toilet attached to this restaurant required a good cleaning the waste bin was more than overflowing..

I'm not quite sure where to start this review as the whole experience was appalling. Maybe I should start with the initial 5 telephone calls to book a table; we waited until after 10, when the tea room opened yet not one of the 5 phone calls were answered. Undeterred, we walked to Jolly's to book a table for afternoon tea and asked for an explanation regarding the lack of telephone communication. The gentleman taking the booking shrugged his shoulders and gave no reply. That was probably a good indication of how the rest of the afternoon would unfold.

We arrived looking for a quick bite, coffee and sit down before dashing off to do a walking tour due to start in 45 min. When we arrived the girl seating us couldn’t understand what “where is the ladies? The bathroom?” Meant and just looked blankly at us till another family member went “THE LOO???”. After taking our order we then waited 30 minutes to not only only receive just 3 out of the 4 drinks orders, no cutlery and only one of our table received food. When we complained the two gentlemen behind the bar did try to do their upmost to resolve the situation but from what i gathered - the waitress had given the other three meals (toasted sandwiches) to a different table. Unfortunately at this point we should have said cancel redoing the order and leave it as although they redid the order for us, its now been 40 minutes waiting on some basic ham and cheese/tomato and cheese toasties (nothing special) that we didn’t even have time to eat fully as we had to dine and dash off to race to our prebooked tour. Who’d have thought it would be so difficult so whip up a few toasties and a few coffees for a group of 4 in a fairly empty tearoom. The two gentlemen behind he bar apologised profusely and acknowledged it wasn’t up to the required level of service but the female waitress that was to blame was nowhere to be seen and clearly couldn’t give a stuff that she had fudged up the entire order.

Maybe it’s going downhill. First time I loved it. This time... long wait in a half full tea room. When my lunch did arrive, it was so awful I actually sent it back, something I’ve never really done before! If I was the chef I would have been embarrassed with what was served. I had a salad, with over-ripe to the point of furry/slimy avocado, 1 cold small over cooked sliced potato that fell apart on touching, no dressing that I could determine, and a few chickpeas straight out of a tin thrown across the plate! I think it was priced around £8.50 too, what a joke. Paid up (not the salad) and left. Won’t be going back in a hurry. Oh also didn’t even have any of the cordials listed on the menu, ended up with weak black currant squash! The cup of tea was nice and is reflected with the 2 stars.

We even had to ask if we could have some milk to go with our tea, this place is overrated and very expensive you can find better else where and at other places you will find a hello thank you and goddbye but not here and the toilet was disgusting it was that bad we did not use it if you go here you will pay a lot and be very disappointed will not recommend or ever go here again

This is a lovely tea room in Jolly"s the department store in Bath. Our experience was a mixed one .We happily waited 10 mins for a seat but the one offered was in a corner which we accepted as we were hungry and wanted a nice light lunch. The other couple in the same corner asked to change due to the draught from the door continually being opened and they weren't happy with the response from the waitress and walked out!!!. We ordered soup , sandwiches and a pot of tea. I needed a gluten free meal and was told the soup would be ok for me and they had gluten free bread for the sandwich. The waitress seemed very preoccupied but took the order and the pot of tea duly arrived and the sandwiches arrived about 10 mins later but the soup NEVER arrived. Our position in the corner made it extremely difficult to get anyone's attention, so we decided to pay for the food we had and retreat. The waiter who took our bill was very apologetic that our soup never arrived and refunded the amount for the soups and gave us complimentary teas but the whole atmosphere in the tea room was uneasy as though the staff were extremely pressurised.

Based in the historic Jolly's Department Store, this is an example of English culture uncovered. The back door entrance is more romantic as it serves directly into the tearooms. Quaint in style but practical in so far as the quality of the teas on offer are served. L'endroit est clame et dans l'ambiance d'un salon de thé mi-moderne mi-cosy mais c’est à peu près tout. Bien sûr les gâteaux sont bons mais j'ai mangé des scones bien meilleurs ailleurs!

Jolly's is an large department store which has been taken over by the House of Fraser. Originally opened in 1831 the store was, I believe, the first department store in the UK. Finding the tea room when in the store is not easy, in fact when we asked they told us the easiest was to go back out to the street and come into the tea room door directly. However we managed to find our way to it without going outside. The tea room is delightful, quite stylish and pretty as a tea room should be. We had a snack lunch there. One thing to note is that tea comes in a pot and is loose tea so you have to pour it out through a strainer. Also £2.90 for tea is quite expensive. We both had the soup and sandwich deal which is rather limited since you can only choose a toasted sandwich and there are, I believe, only 4 options. We both had brie and cranberry which was nice but I've had better. I felt that the place was so busy that the staff were struggling to cope. It is a delightful place and, having enjoyed it, we went back for afternoon tea there and had a coffee for £1.50 which you get when presenting your lunch receipt.

On a midweek rainy day, we popped into the tea room whilst waiting for the fashion museum to open.We were its sole customers at 10am!Its nicely furnished and decorated, the cakes looked delicious but we resisted temptation and had coffees only served by a young lady who was new to the role.Again the recurring theme it will be busier once students are back. I must admit i think it needs better signage to get more passing tourist trade seeing its at the very back of Jollys but for us the quiet was ideal.

Tea rooms looked lovely which is why we went in. Lovely china tea service etc in window display. The actual place quite opulent looking. Afternoon tea unfortunately didn't live up to how you expect it to be in the surroundings. Plain white teapot and cups and milk jug etc. Was hoping for beautiful design china service set like in the window, would have been a better touch and in keeping with place. Scone was not warmed, but ok. General jam and cream in pots. Presentation could be so much better. All in all nothing special.

The tea was a house blend and excellent. Whilst the lemon tart was tasty and fresh. The tables were kept clean. All said a good experience.

Went in today and was given our pick of tables by a very nice waitress as they were not particularly busy. Sadly that's where the good service ended as no staff spoke to us again during our visit. We decided on our order within a couple of minutes but nobody came back to take our order. Customers who came into the shop after us were asked for their order and received their food in the time that we were there. This happened on three separate occasions. We were totally ignored/overlooked despite the customers only two tables away who arrived 10 minutes after us, giving their order and receiving their food. We gave up and left after 25 minutes. and went to Patisserie Valerie instead where we received excellent service from very attentive staff despite their shop being packed.First and last visit to Jollyx Tea Room I'm afraid.

Very nice interior and overall ambiance in the sub terranes section of the House of Fraser store. The staff were pleasant and efficient but................. however for afternoon tea the invitation to choose from one of our "specialist" (or somesuch word) scones was seriously misleading as only a fruit scone was on offer!! Not even a Plain scone as an alternative let alone Cherry, Cinnamon, Treacle, Cheese......you get the picture! And as for the offer to choose from a wide range of specialist teas, well the two "black" teas on offer were English Breakfast or Earl Grey !! Whatever happened to Assam, Darjeeling, Oolong, and Lapsang Souchong? If you want a real specialist tea experience then head along to Comins Teahouse which is not too far away.Sad to say I think this afternoon tea spot is somewhat trading on its perceived image as a sophisticated "fine dining" spot for afternoon tea but it fails to deliver on quality and content.

Bagni puliti e curati. Il personale è tutto femminile, dai modi cortesi e attenti. Servono sandwich tradizionali e pranzi con frittelle e patatine.

Tea for two and a Pimms please. We're out of Pimms. The snap back was like rifle shot, with not a hint of softness nor apology. Our waitresses (for there were two) proceeded to muddle up our order royally, and again, without hint of apology. The tea was fine, as was the scone (with raisins, although not requested as such), but the service was anything but genteel as befits a good tea room.

Me and my partner went to spend a few days in Bath and stumbled across this lovely little tea room that looked right up my street! So after a little bit of shopping we came to treat ourselves to a cream tea each! Once we walked in there was a sign saying "please wait here to be seated" which we were happy to do. A lady at the till area just looked up and called over "just sit where you like I'll bring over a menu" which first off makes you feel like an unappreciated customer in such a lovely place. We sat down and waited for our menus... for a while... after quite a few minutes we watched quite a few other couples and groups be told to take a seat and their menus brought over... we were still waiting.Once a lady looked over and saw we were waiting and she brought some menus over I chose to have a scone jam and cream with a tea and my other half the same but with a luxury hot chocolate. I was disappointed when the menu said a choice of scones, there was only fruit. When paying a good amount and the menu stating so, I would of expected a choice (as I like plain but my other half likes fruit!)When our food and drinks came over my other half had no cream but butter? Which one of the waitresses that looked like she was running the place while the other didn't really care sorted very quickly and apologised. My other halves hot chocolate that said would have marshmallows did not have any and also tasted very watery. My parter is a drinks barista and knows a good hot chocolates when he sees one, and this was not. Whilst we sat still enjoying out delicious scones, there was a certain waitress (the same that gave us inadequate service) huff and puff after speaking to customers she did not try to hide her unenthusiasm.I am a manager in a retailers that prides themselves on customer service, and this the service we received really let down the gorgeous interior of the place and the lovely food. Some (not all) of your staff really need to be taught about the importance of customer service! The young girl that was running around working very hard must be very disheartened by the other waitress just huffing and puffing. I really hope the service improves as the area food and interior of this place is gorgeous.

Desafortunadamente, han convertido lo que solía ser un espacio encantador en algo realmente hortera e insípido con manteles de plástico y una decoración en general realmente horrible. ¡También estaba CONGELANDO! De ninguna manera podrías sentarte sin un abrigo.

Popped in for breakfast as we were in the area visiting family. The morning staff and Manager were lovely and welcoming. The food was good, fresh and hot. Good value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.
