Jolly fryers chippy in Wakefield

Tried the Jolly Fryers on my last visit to Castleford. Everything was fried fresh, the fish was large and good quality, the portion of chips was large and well prepared. The cost was £5.75 which is good value. The service was welcoming and friendly.

First time we have visited Jolly Fryers and we decided to eat in their restaurant. We both enjoyed our meals and their hospitality. Surprised how reasonable their prices are. We would highly recommend Jolly Fryers to anyone.

Went here at the weekend. The service is excellent. The food is freshly made. But, one man is doing all the cooking and serving the take outs. So we waited 30 minutes for food. It was not busy in the restaurant. When it arrived the fish was hot everything else was cold. Even the drink of tea we were served 20 minutes before the food arrived.

My first visit was for takeaway fish and chips. A really warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Fish and chips cooked to order and as they were wrapped well they were still hot when I arrived home 30 minutes later, Second and third visits I ate in. Again cooked to order. Lovely fresh fish in a crisp light batter, a good portion of nice dry firm chips and lovely mushy peas along with a slice of bread and butter and a decent mug of tea all for £6.99! No airs and graces here - just good food provided by a genuinely friendly staff. Proprietor Darren and staff deserve every compliment they receive.

Went in for lunch with friends. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was really nice, freshly cooked and plentiful, value for money.

I just lv fish and chips that are golden coloured and crispy, hate anemic chips and pale batter fish , jolly fryer is the best around , I eat here 3 times a week and the place is stunning
