Boxing Day pre match drink. Very busy. Standing room only downstairs. Did eventually get a seat upstairs. Quick service. Good real ale. Nice quirky bar with a nice atmosphere.

Out with my son and was turned away due to maximum capacity or so we were told . As we walked away 8 lads were let in obviously if your face fits or your a football fan then your custom is welcome. There are loads more places in the area that are worth a visit is give this one a miss.

Myself and my son were turned away because it was too busy. I get that a place is restricted to numbers for fire safety etc however he then let in a group of more than 8 lads. Obviously if your face fits and you're a football fan then he wants your business! Only gave one star to review the place as you can't give no stars. He obviously has the clientele he wants and doesn't want to add to it.

My husband and I went to see our friend Johny, at his pub in Burslem Stoke-on-Trent, where we were greeted by politeness. It's a very popular place to visit, where you can enjoy your time and the georgous beers that are nice and cool and relaxing.

Called in before a game at Vale Park, and despite being away fans we were made very welcome by the owner, staff and locals. Happy to recommend and will visit again for definite. It's a shame the other pubs/doormen/police in the area weren't as welcoming to 3 blokes just wanting a quiet couple of beers before a game.

Would have been nice to visit, but the surly doorman wouldn’t let us in because there was a football match on three hours later.

Johnny is a wonderful guy and great landlord, superb beer ,great price and always new beers to choose from. Never use anywhere else. Brilliant!

Great pub. John was so friendly and welcoming, especially with Noah our 6 year old! Will definitely be back when we next visit the area!

Been enjoying a pint or two for nearly 60 years, all over the world. Have had a number of locals, in that time, but this is the number 1, and that's no reflection on all the others. But in John and his staff plus the other regulars it is a great micro pub. Beer and snacks are great. Everyone, who behaves, is given a great welcome. Thanks to John for this great meeting place in a great town.

Different. Friendly atmosphere, very compact, one of the smallest bars in Stoke-on-Trent. I would like to see more cider available, i'll have to call back sometime and see what is on offer again, maybe the range changes....

Was a one off visit as we were from the North East, could not fault the pub for its service, cleanliness and atmosphere and it's fine selection of ales. If in the area again would call in again for sure.

Nice atmosphere & fine ales on offer

I had noticed the micro puh before, but never called in. I went in feeling a little anxious, because as a single female it can be a bit awkward walking into a pub alone. There was live music playing ( boat band) who were excellent and a great atmosphere. The staff were smiley and made me feel relaxed. It was smaller than I expected inside, but plenty of interesting things to read on the walls, which was good for me initially as I had no one to talk to. This is a place that I would be happy to return to on my own.

This little Micro pub has gone from strength to strength since opening - always a good choice of real ales and ciders , and a genuine friendly welcome from Johny and his staff. If you aren't sure what to drink asking for a taste isn't a problem , and Johny is very knowledgeable on the beers that he serves. There is always a lovely fire burning in the winter months - this place is well worth a visit if you are in the Burslem area.

What a friendly bar. A great selection of Cask Ale (mainly local) & on tap beers can be found in this cosy bar in Burslem. A selection of Gins & Spirits will enhance your visit. The host has a welcoming manner and tends to cater for a better cliental. Worth a visit and we will return.

Great micropub with a good range of deal ales and a fridge full of real ciders. Very cosy and on the day we visited there were two logburners roaring away to keep off the chills

We popped here as part of a mini pub crawl after a tour around the local Titanic brewery. It's a cracking little boozer with a good range of beers. The bar maid was cheerful and friendly, and we engaged with the regulars and found them to be friendly and hospitable. In fact we had a right royal laugh. The atmosphere here was everything good I remembered about the local pubs of my youth. If there were more places like this then maybe the pub industry wouldn't be fading.

Finest pint of Bass in Burslem. Pub is small, friendly and welcoming. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
