We visited 20mins before closing after getting caught in the pouring rain on the beach. My daughter and I were a bit bedraggled and my 8year old grandson was wet and cold. The staff were really helpful providing hot drinks quickly and not at all fazed about our late arrival telling us not to worry about timing just to take our time to get warm again. I would recommend them to all and will visit again and maybe next time we'll visit when the live music is playing.

Lovely friendly place , staffed by nice people. The food is good and honest and reasonably priced. I would recommend the cake and coffee, which is strong ! My only complaint is about the other customers! Why if you smoke must you either sit or stand right by the open door, permitting your foul nicotine stench to waft over us non addicted people while we eat? Or maybe I should ask the staff why they permit smoking right by the door?

Visited here in a party of ten on a Saturday night to celebrate the start of a weekend of silver wedding celebrations. The food was hot and generous portions and the service was very friendly. Joe played a few tunes on the baby grand piano, every cafe should have one, and we rounded off the night with an impromptu sing song. Joe on his basolele, Carl on the guitar and one of our party on the ukulele. Certainly a night to remember.

My sisters really enjoyed their coffee saying it was probably better than anywhere else they go to (they live in Whitstable and Canterbury). Unfortunately we had no time to dwell over a slice of cake, shame they looked delicious.Joe is organising carols on 13th Dec @ 5.30 ish and a quiz night on 19th Dec and we are definately trying to support these 2 events. Joe's is a new owner in a newly refurbished place. Its always been a place to eat since I was a kid living here in the 70's - was called the Cookery Nook for years, but many changes have seen varied results. Joe has built very quickly a place to go for coffee, beer, sarnie for lunch or a nice eat in the evening.Local art on the walls and information about what's happening in the bay. Joe is the star, attentive and talkative - but will leave you in peace and quite if thats what you are looking for. Last week there was a guy just playing around with a guitar - not actually singing, not actually playing, but strumming a few cords quietly to himself. Nice background. Think there is outdoor seating at the back, but like sitting in the window watching the world pass by gently :)

There's outside seating front and in the rear garden and wifi. Although I couldn't get into the wifi with their password. We ordered a tasty panini and a gorgeous piece of cake. I understand the cakes are purchased in, but are made small scale locally, but did have that home made look and taste. Only down side was I did find a black hair on my panini plate, that couldn't have been from me. Despite this I would go back even if it was only for the lovely carrot cake.

Felicity’s Cafe at Quex in Birchington is an absolute gem. Picture this—you roll up to this quaint little spot, and from the second you walk in, it’s got that vibe. Friendly, warm, like you’re part of the family. We’re talking fresh, local ingredients that just hit differently. The coffee? Smooth. The cakes? Sweet but not too sweet. Service? Spot on. The folks here treat you right, not in some fake, scripted way. You can tell they care, like they want every dish to be a hit, and let me tell you—it is. You want cozy, comfort, and quality all wrapped up in one? Felicity’s Cafe nails it.

My friend and I went here for the first time on a weekday lunchtime and found seating downstairs. As all busy upstairs and we didn’t want to sit outside or in the covered walkway to the cinema area. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and coffee. I had prawn and avocado sandwich on brown bread with salad and Kent Crisps my friend had smoked Salmon and cream cheese bagel that also came with salad and crisps. The cakes looked very nice but we were a bit full to try them probably will in our next visit. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back!
