ok as we know unfriendly staff i can live with that but to be charged to sit in drinking out of a plastic or paper cup on a wooden bench freezing cold in the winter is a big insult the place is nearly empty most of the time dont the management want people in there take away only? could this be the final nail in the coffin for this joint, try upstairs in john lewis where you get good friendly service served in real cups for no extra charge.

Odd experience. 4 people stuffed behind the bar, but the few tables available are neglected and dirty. Huge dining tables in the middle go unused because there’s no chairs. Not very welcoming, the young staff look at you puzzled as if why would you ever choose to order something from there. It was the same when I visited 4 months ago, so nothing has changed.

The whole experience is abysmal, especially given the competition in Solihull. I was in a rush and wanted a take-away coffee. I presumed this place had something to do with John Lewis, as it’s outside their main entrance. I now presume it’s nothing to do with them as it’s the most underwhelming coffee bar experience I’ve had for at least 20 years. There are two youngish guys running this, who are quite obviously think they are too cool for school (and probably were when they were at school). I don’t like being called “mate” at the best of times, let alone when I am spending money. I do appreciate some politeness and eye contact, and got neither. I’d imagine the place is pretty much unmanaged. There was some quite inappropriate music being played. These chaps obviously play the music they want, rather than what’s suitable for a shopping mall coffee shop. That probably explains why their tables were empty. As for the coffee? I ordered a latte with an extra shot. There was definitely no extra shot, even though I was charged for it. Insipid, tasteless coffee. Do yourselves a favour and go somewhere else.

A prime position in the centre of Touchwood right outside John Lewis. The coffee is good and i like the selection of fresh juices. The sandwich was tasty - made with rye bread and freshly made, not prepackaged. The staff are all young guys, and whilst it is not the best service i have ever had, they were pleasant enough. Not sure I like the name calling to come and collect your order, but hardly a biggie. Would go back as i enjoyed the sandwich and fresh juice

I went to Solihull Joe & the Juice today after not going for quite some time. One of the reasons I stopped going ages ago was the attitude of the staff. This has not changed. Are they paid not to smile or give any customer service at all? The guy taking my order was ignorant and couldn’t even manage a fake smile. Juice was ok, it was warm! Where’s the ice? The sandwich was nice, shame I won’t be going back, I just can’t stand their attitude. Also the place is grubby. Went to sit and wait and the chair was filthy and ripped. Very disappointing.

If I had a choice I wouldn’t even give them 1. Stood at the counter for 3 minutes. The “lads” were so busy laughing and chatting amongst themselves they couldn’t even be bothered to acknowledge myself and my mother standing there. No greeting, no order inquiry there were no other customers. I stood there patiently waiting just to be ignored. It’s an absolute disgrace. Will never go again. Not worthy of my business

I’ve been going to joe and the juice since it opened. The staff are always really friendly and pleasant. I’ve never experienced any rudeness or bad customer service. I’ve seen the staff carrying drinks to tables to help people who can’t leave babies and young children whilst they go up to the counter to collect food/drinks, and also elderly customers too (which they don’t have to do)The oat milk lattes are the best in Solihull and the sandwiches are really nice too.(My only negative is that the decor is looking a little tired)

I love the food and drink selection at Joe and the Juice but what really lets this place down is the service!! Walked up to the counter where there were 3 members of staff present and was completely ignored by all 3. They had all seen me but not one of them said i'll be with you in a moment or acknowledged that I was waiting. I actually started to think I was standing in the wrong place to be served, I felt incredibly uncomfortable as the wait was so silent and long. A member of staff eventually after 5 minutes asked me for my order- and then when my name was called the order was wrong so I don't think he was even listening! The 3 members of staff seemed to be chatting and laughing amongst themselves rather than actually communicating and serving customers. Not what I would expect from John Lewis or service in Solihull Touchwood.

Went into Joe and the Juice today with my partner for a sandwich and a drink. I have recently had a hip procedure which has temporarily left me unable to walk unaided. My partner went up to the counter and placed the order, explained to the 3 staff that he was popping into John Lewis and should the order arrive in his absence could somebody could bring it over to me at my table which was literally a few feet away. A couple of minutes later my order was called and I asked the server if he could please carry it across to me and was just completely ignored. At this point there were no other customers at the venue which was almost empty. I waited for my partner to return to collect the order, and when he challenged the staff (apparently the chef manager) as to why they had not bought the order across was told they had been too busy. What a disgrace.

Called in for a coffee, having had a nice lunch there 3 years ago. What a disappointment this time. Three members of staff seemed more interested in talking among themselves than serving, could hardly talk to us. They ask for a surname when ordering and just shout it out when the drink is ready e.g. "Smith", then you have to go up and collect. Wish I'd looked at the tables before ordering, as they were disgraceful with spilled drink or used cups/cartons on every empty table, so drank at bench instead. Fabric on seats was ripped and stained. Not busy, only a few customers, so don't know why tables hadn't been cleaned. Coffee tasted cheap and bitter.

It was a busy day & whilst the seating area wasn’t busy there were 2 people in the que in front of me. The man threw a couple of whole apples into the blender (I thought you weren't supposed to blend whole apples because the pips can be toxic). The man was wearing gloves to prepare my drinks which was great but then kept them on when he handled my money. Unless the gloves are removed between customers, it seems quite pointless. Feeling parched on a shopping trip last week I popped in to grab a juice, whilst I stood to wait I could not believe what I was seeing.... The open prep area which is behind the counter and in full view of customers was a bomb site. Ground coffee had been spilt all over the counter by the machine, there were dirty cups all over the surface, a mountain of dirty juicer jugs stacked in the sink and on the back there was not littered with cut mozzarella and avocado but there was 8 bottles of milk that looked like they'd been sat out all day. Disgusting and definitely not adhering to simple health/ hygiene guidelines. It wasn't as if it was eve particularly busy to a point that they hadn't had time to tidy up after a rush. Furthermore when I went online to get a phone number or email address to contact someone about the state of the place there is not way to contact any form of customer service department. An inexcuseable wait for the coffee - too late to walk away as they take the money up front - three other couples around us moaning too about there wait. Ten to a fifteen minute wait for coffe only is quite unacceptable. When the drinks arrived they were hardly warm. Drank them up quickly and was pleased to get away. I cant recall a taste even. That being said, I've always found the staff here to be friendly and although you do have to wait a few minutes for your juice to be made, that's to be expected when it's all fresh. I love their juices and their sandwiches with rye bread. sooooo yummy. I like that funky music and cool good looking staff. What I hate is how dirty that place is. I went there in january and tables were just covered in dirt, grease, crumbs, stains, a bin was leaking brown liquid on to the floor and so on. Then I went there again today and I was disgusted with the amount of dust on the floor. It takes a long time to form that amount so clearly that place has not been cleaned properly for weeks. Tables and chairs were never wiped so naturally every piece of furniture was sticky and dirty. Bins were full. It is so easy to sort it out. Tell your staff to wipe the tables after every customer and just keep it tidy. It is so insulting to see how little you care about your customers. If your kitchen area is as dirty as rest of the place I would recommend people to avoid it all cost! If it would be clean I would happily give this place 5 out of 5 for lovely snacks and drinks. But sadly.....If next time I do not see an improvement I will never go there again and I will recommend everyone to stay away.

Popped in on the off-chance and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered a tea (which they don't appear to list on the drinks board) and a Joe's Club Sandwich which was the most expensive at £3.95. The sandwich was really nice, and good value, in my opinion. Chicken avocado and tomato. Very fresh and tasty. But almost the best bit was the bread! Apparently a roasted rye bread. Thin, slightly crispy but not hard. Delicious. The tea was fine, but disappointingly in a paper cup. For coffee lovers, you buy by paper cup size, from teeny to huge. Much better than having to pay for more than you can drink? And whether you have one or two shots of coffee, there is no extra charge. The store location is in the middle of the shopping centre, so a little busy and noisy, but I'll definitely be going back for more of those sandwiches and wish there was one nearer to me!

This is now Hilliers garden centre. The cafe was busy, We waited 40 minutes for a breakfast and an egg batch. Despite ordering a seeded egg batch and returning to check no meat ,alongside a vegetarian breakfast ,it came out with sausage and bacon. The egg batch came out next with a crushed top no seeds ( its a white roll with seeds on top) it was replaced with a complete roll which had a thick layer of yellow butter /marge , but fine we got an egg roll. Vegetarian breakfast finished. The bread was damp so ate the egg. I am aware of tte pressure of a kitchen and sometimes it all just goes wrong but the serving staff made one apology. Sorry for your wait. It was so dissappointing. The vegetarian breakfast was ok , piping hot sausage, cold mushrooms and beans but presented nicely and edible.
