I was introduced to this cafe by Ashfield Kitchens, another 'hidden gem' in Handcross. Great atmosphere, superb coffee and the cinnamon buns are out of this world, not to be missed or ignored. Finally the friendly, busy, staff are the secret behind the success of this wonderful cafe. Go out of your way to visit. Thank you. S

A lovely quaint dog friendly cafe with excellent reviews and you can see why! Staff friendly and attentive and the cheese and ham bagel was delicious. Staff loved our dog and gave her lots of treats.

Let’s start with the food The service The location The vibe The most amazing coffee I have tasted The people The care and commitment of everything that is presented. Didn’t mention the coffee?

Eaten brunch here many times. Never been disappointed in the fabulous food. The hot chocolate is absolutely delicious. We’ve also grabbed cinnamon buns which they warm up and delicious is an understatement. Today I had the French Toast and it was the best I’ve ever had in the UK. Cannot recommend this little hidden treasure enough - in fact we do recommend a lot. The service can be slow, with one person in the couple finished eating before the second person receives their food, happened on a couple of occasions. We’ve also been turned away as they simply were too busy to take any more food orders. But the food they serve is so fresh and worth the wait! It’s a tiny but busy cafe and I guess they want to put out perfect food. I’m pleased it’s a success and on our doorstep! Only writing the ‘negative’ comments here so JO.CO can improve that - defo not to put any customers off! When they’re not too busy and the owner has time to leave the kitchen, he is very friendly. A great vibe. Well done JO.CO!

I love this place. I've been coming here for Chai Lattés for some time. Not everyday as it's not in my town but a 10 minute motorway drive that's well worth the effort. I've now discovered their cinnamon buns which are beyond amazing. It's been twenty years since I've had a cake that could compare with their fare.

Nice little coffee spot. Fabulous selection of food, i had the savoury pancakes and they were delicious. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the greenery adds a nice touch.

The first thing you notice when you step through the door is the friendly welcome that awaits you. Lacking in a lot of establishments. Coffee was delicious as was my breakfast. Although I didn't sample any of the cakes, I am led to believe that they are absolutely delicious, they certainly look amazing. I am returning again this week to try them. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

We visited Jo . Co for coffee and Pasteis de Nata. The tarts were freshly cooked and absolutely delicious, and the welcome was very warm and friendly. The only disappointment was that we weren’t there for a meal, so will definitely return and would recommend.

Such a joy to find this little place. The food has that home-made nourishing feeling to it – really tasty and satisfying. The location, right by Devil's Dyke, is idyllic. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Lovely to sit outside and soak up the sun in its laid-back atmosphere.

I left my review as a private note through OpenTable but unfortunately have not heard anything from Safari Pizza about my experience. I don’t want the waitress to get into any trouble but my experience has made me not want to return. I asked for a burrata bomb pizza without the cherry tomatoes. The waitress seemed to feel this was wrong even though I know my own tastes. I have tried cherry tomatoes before and do not like them. The waitress decided I should have one cherry tomato and I didn’t feel I was able to say no. The waitress then came to the table later to check if I had tried the cherry tomato and when I said I still didn’t like them, she again didn’t seem happy with this. I said I found it tart but the waitress tried to correct me and told me I would have found it sweet. I am autistic and have struggled with food textures (and being teased as a child for some of my preferences) so this made me feel uncomfortable to the point I would not wish to return to Safari Pizza unfortunately.

As I vegan, I never expect to be able to eat anything special when I’m not in my home town of go to comforts.. but I was so blown away by their vegan rainbow sandwich! (Can’t remember it official name!) It was so beautifully presented and in abundance, it was such a treat! One of the best bites I’ve had in ages. Thank you! Left so happy !
