The restaurant has a typical diner vibe with AMAZING customer service. The eating area is very clean and they have two clean restrooms as well. The food options are pretty good and they also have a lot of drinks, baked goods, and candy. The customer service just really stood out to me and they were all extremely nice and eager to help and please their customers. The restaurant wasn’t very busy when we were there and has plenty of seating options for many different sized groups (we had seven people and were able to get a very large table). Overall a great experience!

Gluten-free breakfast for me. Bacon and sausage roll for my stepfather. He thought there was too much bread. I thought the bacon on mine was a bit stringy, not great quality. I thought the new bigger place wasn't as good as it had been when it was smaller and across the road. Too much purple/lavender in the decor too. If the food had been better I'd only have thought about that though. Just my opinion.

A1 + for excellent friendly cheerfull service with a fabulous filling breakfast in the comfort of beautifull surroundings. As an ex cafe/sandwich shop owner I am usually hard to please but I highly recommend visiting jethros when in Haltwhistle. Thank you jethros see you soon 😊

As this is local to me I have the luxury of being able to call in weekly - have been with family, friends and with a social group. Great range of seating for 1/2 folk or a small group. Staff team are always friendly, quick taking orders and then providing table service. Nice coffee and range of Bubble Teas - popular with the kids. Favourites for us are cheesy fries and bacon sausage and egg butty, and their range of ice cream flavours. In summer we enjoyed one of their late night burger night openings with family. Have a fridge of cold drinks available and offer take away as well as sitting in. Relaxed and friendly environment.

We came into Haltwhistle on a rainy day and were pleased to find a good old fashioned sandwich shop- hard to come by. Husband had all day brekkie and I had tuna melt. Lovely food, decent prices, good old cuppas. Well recommended.

Great little cafe with very good service. I stopped en route to Newcastle from Scotland, and it was well worth turning off the main road into the town. A lovely panini and chips, a nice pot of tea, and quick service too.

We called in for a takeaway sandwich but after ordering realised their advertised sandwich is really a dry pale looking roll. Filling was dry diced chicken and overall very disappointing. Cakes looked good but would not recommend a sandwich from here.

Nipping clean! Just stopped in for tea and tea cake and was very nice. Place spotless. Shame no outside tables though, especially as was a lovely day and the cafe is on the sunny side of the street.

Well what can I say a salutary fantastic. I had the hot dog and garlic mushrooms. The only thing I could say was they needed more garlic in them for me but that is a personal thing. When I mentioned this the owner said no problem next time just let us know and we will pop extra in for you. Service could not of been better.

Called today. Scone was the worst I have ever had. Dry, crumbly, nothing like a fresh scone. Spoke to young staff who were unable to offer a fresh replacement. We do hope improvements will be made as we are regularly in Haltwhistle.

We had lunch here and the food was so good it was an obvious choice to takeaway collection for dinner as well. That was not great. 4 meals ordered, but only three in the bag when we opened in, and the lasagna was dry and near inedible. It was returned and traded, and the other meal collected. Apologies were given, but we'll not use the takeaway section again.

Great breakfast, and very good value. Friendly staff and a very extensive menu. Would be even better if it was open a bit later. 3pm is early (tea and cake time!)

Firstly - congratulations & great that you have moved to bigger premesis and employ more local staff especially in the current economic climate. However our breakfasts, an English and a Scottish were awful. The bacon was like shoe leather, the fried eggs were hard and the whole plate of food was dry. The coffee was good..and hot. Cappucino served in a cup...without a saucer or spoon..strange & good job we don't take sugar! We will be eating at the Pillar Box cafe in future - they serve a great breakfast.

We were on a cycle tour and came across Jethro's for lunch. The food was fantastic value for money and very good. Lots of it and very reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.

We had full house breakfasts, American breakfasts, chicken salad and numerous flavours of ice cream whilst staying at Haltwhistle for 4 days. Cannot fault the place, friendly service and lovely food.

We arrived just as the cafe was closing at 2pm last Sunday - they helpfully stayed open long enough to make us two takeaway salad boxes and we also chose two of their individual tubs of ice cream as it was such a hot day....

Really enjoyed our breakfasts at this great little cafe, the veggie sausages are superb. We also enjoyed great salad boxes for lunch today, perfect on such a hot day.

Opted for the Scottish Breakfast which came with Scottish scone and Haggis. Very tasty and everything was hot. Great value and set up up for the day.

I cannot rate this deli/cafe high enough it’s just superb. Lovely welcoming owner/staff who can’t do enough for you and excellent food and service, well impressed and thank you so much.

Placed an order which was to take a few minutes to prepare which was fine. Came back as advised to be told that they didn't have one of the ingredients so then had to wait longer for an alternative; could've been told that to start with. By this time a bunch of people had gathered all waiting for orders, the staff didn't seem to know who was getting what, and even basic orders took ages to prepare, one by one despite multiple staff being on. The food didn't look the most appealing but tasted OK. The shop also had a rule of only allowing 1 customer in at a time which the staff didn't seemed to be bothered about keeping to (and there were even seats available for use inside too). All felt a bit haphazard. Wished we'd gone elsewhere.

We purchased four sets of sandwiches which were top quality and very good value for money. Certainly recommended.

My first visit and also my last. Lady who made my sarnie was handling the ingredients with no gloves on. I let it go, however she then smeared my sarnie in mayonnaise. I didn’t realise this until I was in my car and took a bite. I hate Mayo with a passion. It was binned immediately, total waste of money.

i was passing through Haltwhistle with my 2 kids and called into Jethro's for food. the staff were very friendly and welcoming. i had a full English breakfast and the kids had sausage and bean all food was cooked to order and tasted great, the kids even finished all their food. I will defiantly go back there. i recommend if your in Haltwhistle called in and see for yourself.

I use to be a regular customer of this sandwich deli but sadly to say one member of staff with black hair over charged me twice on two separate occasions through out of the month of October 2019. When I apporched the member of staff who over charged me she did not even apologise. The last time I was in jethroes sorting out the over charge for the second time of the month the blonde hair manager was rude to me as she asked if I was in the next day and my reply was I may be going to Hexham and at this point the manager rudly replyed "get in I won't see you then" this is not the kind of thing that any shop owner should be saying to a local customer. Since this I took my business away and wrote a review on here. I then received abuse and hurrassment messages from the owner customers on here and Facebook and also had a hurrasment phone call by a member of the staff on Friday 8/11/19 in the evening to ask on behalf of the manager if I would take my review down even though I'm just telling the truth. Since all of this hurrasment started I have filed a claim against the shop owner and the customers that have message me to my solicitor which is taking action against the whole situation and trip advisor team are all so aware of the situation. Would not recommend jethroes to anyone who is visiting the area best to go to the brew bar next door in the market place in Haltwhistle

I have taken my custom away now and since I wrote my last review I have been getting hurrasment from the customers from this sandwich deli and even had a telephone call from a member of staff to ask me to take my review down but I have all ready been in touch with my local solicitor and have something in place. The last time I was in jethroes to sort out the over chargement the manager rudly spoke to me and went dam it when I said that I would be coming back in the next day. Clearly my custom was not grateful as this is something that you would not say to regular customers over and over again

Brie bacon and cranberry sauce panini is a good start to the day. Also served with smile. Their menu is much more interesting than most sandwich shops and they are personal and flexible.

The best cafe in the area. The staff are all so friendly and hard working team. All of the food are priced at reasonable prices. I could not fault this wonderful business. Would 100% recommend anyone who is visiting the area to go to jethroes.

i was visiting Haltwhistle with my wife and child during the last week of the school holidays when i stumled across this Cafe in the Market place .on the first visit the lady with blonde hair was talking all of the time to a male customer/friend who was sat at the cafe tables and she shouted to get an assistant from the back of the cafe to serve me. I placed our orders which seemed to take some time when one was a salad box and the others were sandwiches , the prices though were fairly reasonable. i wasnt impressed with the customer service on that day.As we were in haltwhistle for the week i thought i would try the Cafe again but it was worse the lady with the blonde hair was talking to the same gentleman who was just sitting there and a female who was leaning against the counter . A polite young gentleman was already at the tills and he served us whilst the other staff member stood around chatting. I have no fault with the food but i dont wish to hear private converstaions amongst staff and friends.It is a shame as this cafe is a central location but sadly i ddint go back for the remainder of my stay

Had a breakfast here while waiting for the bus. Had been recommended by campsite owner and didn't disappoint. Cooked to order, tasty and such good value! The young lady who served us was friendly and chatty and couldn't have been more welcoming. One to visit if in Haltwhistle!

While out and about promoting my slimming world group in Haltwhistle I called into Jethros which had been taken over by a new lady just 3 weeks ago and wow it’s like she has been there forever. She was so friendly and polite and had a huge menu selection with the majority of it home made by herself. I had a salad box with Cajun chicken and jalapeños with some pasta too. The box was massive and really filled me up and very tasty. My mouth was abit in fire after the jalapeños but loved it!! I’m sure this lady will do very well here and I wish her all the best.

We had a range of panninis, salads and jacket potatoes between us and they were all good. Freshly prepared and plenty of filling. Good selection to choose from and nice home made cakes to go with it.

I was absolutely starving when i walked in to the shop. Rachel and Donna were clearing up and they could see i was desperate. They actually went put of their way to make sure i was fed. Hope their business is a roaring success. I've never met anyone who deserves it more. Big Thank you x

This cafe is new and we had breakfast and coffee there on their 2nd day of opening. The service and friendliness of the staff is excellent and they serve delicious brekkie rolls and coffee. Highly recommend.

This is a small sandwich/salad/cake shop with the widest choice I've ever seen. There are only two tables inside seating a total of four people with the majority of their trade being takeaway. I had a Tuna roll (large!) with lime and chilli which was wonderful. My companion had a mixed salad with the addition of hummus and sun dried tomatoes which was very large and looked and tasted wonderful. We had a chilled soft drink each and the cost was about £8 in total. Staff were friendly and efficient and clearly also skilled. We really want to go back! In a few weeks Jethro's will be under a new owner and I hope they keep the same winning formula!

We visited once for breakfast as there was no-where else open at 8am, choosing to sit in. The breakfast was fine, good value and the lady serving friendly. It's more suited to take-out though in my opinion.

Called in for scone and coffee,they do not do scones so we settled for coffee and I can say with all honesty it was the most tasteless I have ever had.On the positive side the staff was nice and it was very clean.

There is a small seating area. However, Jethros is idea for purchasing salad boxes and other take away food. The salad boxes are stuffed with really fresh ingredients. The Han is good quality. The prices very reasonable. I'd recommend that walkers to the area pick up their packed lunches here. The premises are very clean and the staff friendly.

I live in Haltwhistle and use this take away. I love the jacket potatoes with a salad. Its clean and has friendly staff. The food tastes great and is all freshly made.

Immaculately clean, plenty of choice for sandwiches (hot or cold) and salad boxes. Trying one of the home made millionaires shortbread or cheesecakes is a must. Friendly helpful staff.

We wanted sandwiches to go, as walking hadrains wall. They did a range of packed lunch offers which were really good. We chose baggettes and they were very filling and tasted great. Highly recommend coming here .

Super sandwich shop and salad bar in the centre of Hsltwhistle. Great variety to choose from and everything is made fresh while you wait. There is slso a fab choice of sweet treats!!

Value for money, quick service, tasty savoury snacks and sweets, many to choose from. A couple of small tables if you wish to eat in, pity no room for more, but it is basically a take away, Well worth calling in.

We stopped off at Jethro's whilst out cycling. It was a very cold and wet day and we were welcomed warmly by the staff. There was a good selection of cakes and sandwiches to choose from. There was a steady stream of customers coming in and it is obviously a popular place . We would recommend this as a stop off for cyclist travelling through the area. Lovely to support a local business rather than a national chain. We will be back !

Very clean and welfoming. The salad boxes are ndividually made up. Would prefer a more environmental type if boxing. Fairly good value for money especially as the town is small. This is a very good facility for tourists, other visitors and residents.

We stopped in Haltwhistle, wanting a quick bite without anything too excessive.Jethro's is a sandwich shop adjacent to the town square. Service was efficient, the premises were clean and presentable and the sandwiches were value for money, being of a sufficient size and quality for the cost.There is a large menu of sandwiches and other staples and if the weather is good, you can sit on the benches in the town square.

We stopped off at Haltwhistle after driving through the night on our way to Scotland. While looking for somewhere to eat with our 2 dogs we came to Jethro's which had a garden. When we went to order they let us take the dogs inside where we had a good cooked breakfast, cooked and served by 2 friendly and helpful young girls.

Great sandwiches. They are open early so you can get their excellent breakfast sandwiches for your hike or road trip. Easy parking and in the center of town.
