Disappointed to be honest,the dumping were awful.

I love ❤️ the mutton curry, rice and peas from this place. The rice is cooked in coconut milk and has all spice added and the mutton curry is really delicious. Usually get fairly quick service in this place too.

Really disappointed with our recent visit. Travelled 30 minutes to this place as there's none in my area. Cost nearly £30 for 2 meals but if the food is good, I'm prepared to pay! Me and my partner ordered 1 regular box meal each. Both curried chicken, 1 with white rice and coleslaw separate. The other rice and peas and coleslaw. Both meals had white rice, only 1 had coleslaw. The curried chicken didn't look or taste like curried chicken, just a little spicy and not much flavour besides the spice. We tried to call the restaurant several times, no response and the phone just rings. Do not bother trying to make a complain or get in contact for any reason, as you'll have no success. Can't even make a complaint, meal has left me disappointed and out of pocket by £30. Will not be returning again.

There have been a few reviews saying the place is a little run down inside, and it is, once inside I did think about walking straight out. But I'm glad I didn't, the food was really good, lamb curry and rice, and the guy serving was friendly and helpful.

First time here.i had a small bowl jerk chicken with white rice .lil bit of salad n a bit of brown stew sauce on my rice .n a dumplin .the dumplin tasted like a doughnut from the fayre but was still yummy .all round ot was soooo tasty .i loved it had a little kick of spice but not too spicy just how i like it .perfect also the girls that served me had really friendly faces and were polite .will deffo be coming back to try more stuff highly reccomend price was good too .£9 for all what i got .which is standard .

Finally jerk chicken that hit the spot. Ordered the whole chicken and best jerk chicken I've ever tasted. Will be my go to place from now on.

I ordered 2 tiger prawn rasta pasta and it took 48 minutes. 1 had 4 prawns and the other had 7. Now these are £13.00 each. So for £26.00 I got 11 prawns and pasta and sauce. What a rip off. Won't be returning there again. 48 minutes stood in a shop for rubbish.

I haven’t been for a while but will certainly not be going back after today. The portions were terrible, the coleslaw was so salty I had to throw it, the curried chicken is supposed to have carrots in but had none, it was so hot as in pepper hot I was just chewing on that rather than spicy hot, the rice was mushy,, this place/food has totally gone down hill, the customer service was brilliant.

Callaloo decent ,colesaw just chunks Chips decent Seasoned rice-that smells like uncle ben's micro rice,..for the price u pay cant really justify,happy to miss from now

I bought a Tiger prawn Rasta pasta and a fried dumpling this afternoon, i absolutely loved it. The food was really tasty. I will definitely visit again when i come to Nottingham. It’s a shame i live very far. Thank you so much guys!

Always demolish the box meals, foods unreal and staff are really nice

First went to this place a year ago, and it was fantastic! I am so so disappointed with its decline. I ordered the exact same box meal, only to find half the portion as before, my curry chicken to have no flavour and was like water. The entire order arrived cold. It came as more of a microwave meal and was all very wet. A year ago I would have said this was the best Caribbean takeaway in Nottingham, however after what I had delivered today I honestly haven’t had worse. Awful value for money and flavourless (which I never thought I would say) please please bring back the old food, it really was amazing! A year ago it was worth every penny and tasted phenomenal.

I love this place, and I travel to it just to taste the goodness the flavours are spot on the curry mutton and jerk chicken are not to spicy just enough for a kick so you can still taste the food, decent portions friendly staff the coleslaw is really good and the dumplings oh my god they are on point all in all would definitely recommend its a party for your tastebuds with there food 😋

The food is nice but the chicken was a little dry. The price is quite expensive for what you get. Do not order the meal box I made this mistake and opted for some coleslaw. The coleslaw then represented about 50% of the meal despite paying for saltfish and a boneless jerk!

We haven’t ate from this place for a while and it’s certainly not the same as when it first opened and we’re unlikely to visit again. I won’t criticise the service or how the food tasted as this was ok. I will however heavily criticise the portion size and the price. What they are charging vs the amount of food they give you is quiet frankly disgusting. Previous visits the box was full of your chosen food and you were guaranteed to have loads of rice, now they place the rice, meat and salad in small section of the tub and serve child like portions to adults. We ordered the jerk chicken, rice and salad along with chicken strips and rice and we’re very shocked with the portion given when opening the food at home. I won’t be telling anyone not to visit this takeaway in these hard times for businesses but please beware you may be disappointed with your portion size when considering the price you’ve paid.

Waited for 10/15 minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence. Had to ask the staff if they were serving. 6 of them stood there laughing and chatting while customers waited. Poor customer service. Such a shame because the food is decent.

Food was banging - I had a curried chicken and my girlfriend had a brown stew chicken, both with rice & peas and both were great, generous portions for anyone going a regular box could easily feed two. We had the plantain and fried dumplings as sides, both were great but I prefer a boiled dumpling to fried, these were sold out which could be my only knock to the place! In a hurry to go back!

Front of house staff have no customer service skills. After taking my sisters order, took 5 more minutes to take mine. Sister recieved food after 5 minutes, i waited another 25 minutes. Staff didnt know what was included with meals on the menu, and rude to both of us. Will not be eating here again or recommending!

The food was bland. Customer services was shocking. I’ve never met so many people that didn’t want to be there or serving customers. The food is just microwaved pre packaged food that looks like it has been bought from Iceland. The place looks like it is trying hard. But looks can be deceiving. The food is not Caribbean. The special jerk sauce is not special, in fact it’s just bbq. If this place wants to do well then they need to start preparing authentic Caribbean food. Especially for the price they are charging. I will not be recommending this place or visiting again. I would rather go to the chippy next door.

Really disappointed. Zero flavour and taste, not what I was expecting . Some meals come inside what looks like a ready meal sealed container re heated .

A little disappointed this time. The mutton curry was quite dry. Needed a good sauce. The fried dumplings were a little greasy.

Ordered on Ubereats two main meals which came up to £30 and it did not include rice… £12.95 for just chicken curry no rice.. absolute joke.. make it clear that the meals classed as main s do not include rice.. also came as pre packaged containers that’s was just warmed in the oven and sent on its way. Terrible experience!

At £12 per meal you would think the portion size would be good, but boy how wrong could I be!! You get more food from the Tesco frozen meal at a huge less cost! Rice was cold and all in all I feel cheated. I rang the store and told them, but I just got told "I don't understand why the rice was cold" they didn't seem to care and said if you have a compliant to take it us with Uber eats. My advice to anyone is to either order from in store and avoid ordering from the major food platforms.

This was my first visit to this establishment and it certainly won't be my last! I am always searching for delicious gluten free possibilities in Nottingham and Jerk Kitchen has come up trumps! Absolutely delicious boneless chicken boxed meal for one. Warming barbequed chicken chunks, a massive portion of seasoned rice and delicious homemade coleslaw, all packaged up in a very generously sized container. I was on my way in less than 5 minutes. Brilliant! Can't wait to visit again.

Such a great shame with this place Why on earth is the meals so spicy. Please give customers the choice on how much pepper you put on your dishes. I really hope they reduce the amount of pepper in their dishes soon.

Ordered a jerk chicken, which came and the chicken skin was charcoal and there was no "Jerk" hotness. First and last time ordering. For the price £9 for a jerk chicken it should come with a side dish. Not impressed 😔

Called in at 8.55pm on a Tuesday evening (5minutes before they shut) after a soul destroying ikea trip. Welcoming & friendly, no huffing or puffing that they were about to close the door. X2 box meals ordered. Food was unreal, fresh juicy chicken, rice was fresh, home made coleslaw was perfect. 10/10 service

This gentleman who I've personally seen for the first time is an absolute credit to the business. He was very interactive, professional and made me feel he had time 4 me as a customer other than for just taking my money. If anything he saved me some 👊🏾🙏🏾

Visited for the first time for a while and couldn't help noticing how dirty the place is. Front of house is filthy, dusty, mucky, sticky, absolutely neglected. Noticed behind the counter things weren't actually much better. Chopping board and knife was downright disgustingly filthy, counter and work tops dirty and dusty. This place used to be the best but now it's proper neglected and by the looks of things it's been left to some kids to look after. Don't get me wrong, the kids are nice and pleasant, but they are young. So, food wise, curry mutton, rice and peas was stewed to death, grey and tasteless, watery, and barely tepid. I didn't eat any of it because keeping food at such a low temp is dangerous. So, got to say, I'll not be back, there are much better ran places. Will just add, I'd ordered before I noticed how run down it was.

Ordered the whole jerk chicken, rice n veg, had to wait for delivery for over an hour but this was ok as we expected this on a friday evening. The meal turned up piping hot, dished it out and stat down to enjoy as its awhile since we had something from here. To our horror the chicken spices where volcanic, absolutely inedible.....2 bites and mouth throat and stomack were on fire. That peed of i chucked it in the bin waste of £23. Really disappointed would recomend in b atch tasting.

We wish we lived closer! We were staying in our caravan and decided to try a take away from here - it was brilliant. 2 meal boxes, 1 with jerk chicken the other with mutton curry, and rice and peas and coleslaw, with a side of callaloo. The food was all spiced wonderfully, and pretty spicy and the callaloo was a great counter to the rich meat and spicy rice. Great portion sizes as well. We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area.

Don’t normally leave reviews but looked on TripAdvisor to check opening times and saw there have been a couple dodgy reviews. They’re chatting absolute swill. This place does the best takeout meal you can buy for less than £10. Big portion, nice and fresh, really tasty. Mutton gravy on rice & peas is insanely good. Perfect bodybuilding food that doesn’t leave you feeling grim afterwards. Boss-man’s an absolute gent too. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Not sure about the food but I was stood in there for over 10 minutes today waiting to be served when there was only one other lady in the shop. The girl in there the. Started taking orders from the deliveroo/uber eats/just eat machine and prepping them instead of asking me what I wanted. I left at this point.

Ordered 2 box meal dishes with 2 additional jerk sauce pots, as we thought it might be a little dry. Food turned up in good time but realised the sauce was forgotten. Politely called straight after and asked what could be done and was told by a lady who answered the phone to hang on while they investigate. After being left on hold for 15 minutes we were then cut off!!! Thus the 1 Star for customer non service..what a real shame.

my meal cost £10.75, i ordered brown stew chicken and a dumpling. very disappointed with both. the dumpling tasted more like a doughnut it was that sweet and i only got two small pieces of chicken in my stew. i recommend something else to get value for money

I am not surprised that some have rated this low. I can not tell you how the food tastes as I did not have the opportunity to try it. Why? well I saw that no one was waiting for food so thought It would be a breeze to order and have the food quickly, how wrong I was. Two women behind the counter, one on the phone for around 5 minutes and the other that was back and forth and in the end stood talking to each other which I think was about the order on the phone. They saw me waiting from the time I walked in and I timed myself standing there for 7 minutes before I called it a day and walked out. At that point both turned around and looked at me as though to say why is he walking out. Appalling customer service, and I'm sorry you won't last long in business unless you get your act together.

Food is okay but was luke warm despite eating as soon as I left, the girls serving completely ignored me for the first 5 minutes whilst I stood there despite there being no other customers, didn't even look up or acknowledge I was there. Place could do with a proper regular clean everywhere too.

Omg they do the best tasting rice and peas, the curry mutton is soooo good and good prices, the plantain was a little bit undercooked for MY liking I like it all crispy and goey but I could imagine if I asked next time to cook it a bit longer they would, really really friendly poeple in there. They do desserts which are different to your boring frozen chesecake aswell, the baking smelt amazing when I walked in. they're 10 levels above all Jamaican places in Notts. Thankyou!

Just had Jerk Kitchen for the third time in as many months. We think it's so so good and we lived in the heart of South London for 7 years! Jerk Chicken, brown chicken stew, boneless chicken curry, rice and peas, dumplings, plantain, mac & cheese and slaw are all amazing! Keep it up guys!

Had a bad experience with these just once but was half the fault of Deliveroo. Ever since that time I gave them another try and it’s been amazing every single time. One of my favourite places to go to. ALWAYS FRESH. ALWAYS FAST. 5* HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Horrifi,in the bin. Jamaican Sunday dinner. No roasties as advertised, kebab shop grade fries instead. Gravy is mutton curry. Chicken half raw. Not even fit to put in the dogs bowls. Always had great food from here previous, but it's gone off a massive cliff.

Food is amazing, prices are a little above average but it’s defiantly worth it. Would’ve been 5 stars but getting charged £1 for 2 sets of cutlery is a myth.

Food is usually great, however there is inconsistency from time to time. We ordered the brown stew chicken this afternoon which is inedible as the heat of the spice in the dish is beyond spicy. Do you guys taste the food? Brown stew should be hearty flavours, not pure heat. This Ruined our Saturday night takeaway

Lovely staff always welcome you with a smile I have been a regular here since they opened the food was 10/10 I gave it a 5 star reviews a while back then bam the food changes doesn’t taste all great … it’s not like how it used to be before that’s why I gave it a 3 stars I will give it another try don’t know when but for now the food has put me off so get it back to your original taste then me ‘a come back !

I was visiting Nottingham and decided to give you a try. I Ordered 3 meals for 3 different people. I had the mutton only ate 1 mouth full and left the rest as it was too salty. When I rang and asked the other 2 people how there meals were as we all ate seperatly they both said the same thing that they didn't enjoy it as the food was too salty. 1 was chicken thigh and the other was mutton. The steamed veg was bland, this is the first Caribbean restaurant that i have had steamed veg and it didn't have any kind of seasoning. Very expensive. Nearly £35 for 3 people and then to top it off you charge for takeaway cutlery. This is another first for me as every other take away I have had food from provided cutlery with the meal.

Come all the way from lincoln great food, lovely owners. Have to visit every week or 2. Absolutley love it, we order all sorts, open it all up and eat it out of the boot! Brill! Cheers guys, see you soon! X

Would have been nice if it wasn’t for the salt. Mutton curry, jerk chicken and Rasta pasta all had nice flavour but it was all so heavily salted we couldn’t finish it.

Good taste, good variety, and very accommodating staff. Hearty portions too. Would love to go back and try some more things from the menu. But we live quite far away...we tried it as we were passing by and good Caribbean places are like gold dust in Nottingham. There was one minor issue with one of the dishes but given the point above there is/was no point raising it with the place as there would be nothing they could do.
