Picture doesn’t do it justice. You won’t find nicer more genuine service anywhere in Sussex I’d bet. Chris and Sharon are absolutely amazing, the food is delicious, the portions are enormous, and so so so yum. Giant perfectly cooked flaky fish with the crispiest batter and the chips are so good too! 100/10 would recommend. Live in London but visit Jenny’s every single time I come down, to say hi and eat my weight in fish and chips ❤️

When a Brighton food venue isn't open all day every day, relying on unending tourist footfall, churning out an industrial volume or charging organic hipster prices to turn a profit, you wonder 'what's the gimmick here then?' The outer facade looks like it's maybe been a while since it was last shown some love - but just like the busiest greasy spoons of yesteryear were best kept secrets a little off the beaten track, regularly serving more locals than a G.P.s surgery catchment area - Jennys Fish and Chips at the Park View end of Preston Drove is either a front for money laundering, an inherited business passion project , not the sole or primary source of income relied on to pay for a mortgage or kids, because Opening hours for this 'cash only' business are: Tuesday to Saturday, 4pm to 8.30pm. I'm not sure you could sell enough portions of chips to cover the cost of paying the electric bill for just turning on a Chippy's commercial fryers five days a week. Expect a short wait, cooked to order, greasy fingers, rosy cheeks, friendly smiles, thoroughly enjoyable, beyond the expectation and change from a tenner for fish and chips. Now when was the last time you saw that since Mr Li's chippy by the train station was still open?

We’ve been coming to Jenny’s for over 15 years-we’ve actually moved away to a different part of Brighton but still drive over to Jenny’s if we fancy fish and chips. Such a lovely guy always friendly and the place always clean super large fresh fish highly recommend

First class service from Chris and Sharon. Fish was fresh and chips were plenty and hot. I'm only down for one night to see Gary Numan rehearsing and this dinner was the icing on the cake. Thank you guys. I will add that when I went it was cash only but that wasn't an issue.

My friend and I travelled up to Brighton for the day and before we left we googled best fish and chips near me and hot Jenny’s as our first result. So we went to Jenny’s and they were just about to shut, we ordered their last cod and chips and they even threw in a pie for free! It was sooo nice! Next time we’re in Brighton we will definitely come back here. The 2 guys were really nice and friendly also.

Have been a regular here for many years. Everything is cooked to order, portions are huge, fish is fresh as can be. The owner is friendly and generous. One word of warning: go early - they sometimes close early when they run out of fish

The fish was lovely, the chips were a bit greasy, not crisp. A bit more expensive than I would like, but probably down to stock prices. They may do well to have a veggie option. N.B. cash only.

We ate here on the recommendation of our Airbnb host and wasn't disappointed. Nice cooked to order Cod and plenty of chips. The mushy peas were just ok, very watery and overly sweet?? Staff are really friendly and chatty. Definitely eat here again when in Brighton

In these times of adversity I have found there have been businesses who have thought of no one else but themselves putting up prices without any thought for the general public who some of these have and still are going through had times financially.Jenny's fish and chips seem to be in the minority here is a family run business who have been there for their community keeping prices really low and even when customers haven't got enough money I have witnessed them saying not to worry and taking a loss on the product.They had closed from 23/3/20 so as not to have people and their children who they have known for years contract covid.Other fish and chip shops opened saying they did deliveries and yet they just let people turn up .Too many .Amongst the fact that this shop has served the local community since 1987 it has also given a high end product for a minimal price .All the produce has been locally sourced potatoes from Hills Henfield dramas an example .Even the dogs are catered for with a fresh jumbo sausage if wanted.This has to be one of the best chip shops for all the right reasons decent food at a decent price .

Very nice and forthcoming staff, they were really friendly! And most importantly, the food was very good, their curry sauce goes incredibly well with the fish. Prices are also great.

Always glad to come here. Proper chippy Chips! Takes me back to my youth. Never over priced and always served by a friendly smile! Tourists searching for a ‘Real traditional chippy’ would do well to give this a try!

My name is Coco and I'm a miniature daschund and searching for the best pubs and restaurants that are dog friendly.I recently visited Jenny's fish and chips in preston drove after having a lovely walk in preston park which is very close by I was greeted by a lovely couple who offered me some water while my owners waited for their order I was asked if I would like a sausage (does dolly part on sleep on her back) too right I'd like a sausage and it wasn't those weeney sausages but a jumbo almost as big as me.my owners had fresh chicken and cod absolutely lovely .Any dogs should give it a try after a long walk .Thanks Jenny's

We lived in Brighton for a year and this was our favourite chippy. So sad we’ve moved! I miss their chips! The man who works there (I think he’s the owner) is always really friendly! I would recommend this chippy to everyone!

Always go here for my Sausage and Chips! The shop is always busy, good food at a very reasonable cost! Friendly and polite shop owner too. Jumbo sausage + Small Chips + Coke = £5!

Have used this place many times as it is handily positioned from my home. The owner is a really nice guy, however, the chips are just average & the fish is sometimes quite oily.

I would say that ‘Jenny’s Fish and Chip Shop’ does the best haddock and chips in the Preston Park/Patcham area - crispy batter and hand cut chips cannot be beaten! This takeaway is run by a very friendly chap who definitely fries with love.

Turned up on a busy Friday night and purchased 2 fish and chips and a legendary curry sauce which has been a family secret for 30 yrs .The fish was sweet and fresh the batter crispy and chips fresh and tasted of potato not those frozen chips that some chip shops use.Really nice couple working here who care for their regular customers and never charge them the full menu prices.Great quality food at great prices .Have been turning up here for years the family have had their fare share of personal problems but never stopped from serving and giving their all to the community.

Did we go on a bad night? We ordered four cod and chips for the kids and they couldn't finish them, although they'd been looking forward to it as a treat all week. The batter was damp and bland, I suspect cooked hours before and reheated, and the chips were just stale. We shan't go again. It's too expensive to risk. We'll have to go back to Bardsleys, although it's further away. A real shame.

Have tried Jenny's twice now and won't be going back. Both times we've been served a tiny portion of fish covered in about 1/4 inch of uncooked and pale looking batter served with limp and greasy chips.

Just the right amount of batter on the fresh fish and lightly fried, generous portion of chips, with a friendly owner.

Fairly dismal 'large' haddock and chips with side of mushy peas - fish was heavily battered at between 1/4" and 1/2" thick! and not cooked through - the fish inside like a child's insole. The chips were greasy and limp and top this off, the mushy peas were like a thin green soup...I remember going to this chippie and recommending it to friends - just a couple of years ago - it used to be so good. Disappointment. :- (

Jenny's is fine as a neighbourhood chippy but nothing sets it apart from any other. The vegetarian choices were limited and I think my cheese and onion pasty had been microwaved. There was no rock salmon for my Dad and only a smattering of salt and vinegar. No napkins, no forks. It tasted fine but nothing special.

Fab chips - lovely and fluffy and curry sauce to die for! Its worth the 10 minute drive there for the curry sauce alone! My mum used to live facing, I was devastated when she moved as 'a Jenny's' (as we called it) was my weekly treat!

Being in Brighton it seemed right to have one meal at the chippy, it was clean and bright with veggie options and helpful staff, it was good value and good portions

Good Friday and the shop was empty, too cold for people to venture out I guess.Ordered two portions of cod and chips which were freshly cooked while I waited.The owner is a really friendly genuine guy who offered me a newspaper to read whilst I waited, nice touch.Cod and chips was £5.50 and on getting home the portion was huge.Freshly cooked and prepared cod was fluffy on inside and crisp batter, chips were firm and non greasy.Excellent large meal, well packed and friendly service with a smile.Well done Jenny's.

I was really looking forward to my fish and chips here in Brighton as they are not available widely in France. The F & C shop was like many fast food outlets today in the UK (sadly) rather unimpressive and the staff fairly humourless! I ordered my haddock and chips and my wife's scampi and chips and had just an 8 minute wait before they were served up piping hot and wrapped ready for my 7 minute walk home. On arrival home (my wife had prepared heated plates - how posh) we transferred the food to the plates. The portions were so large the plates were not big enough! Unfortunately this is where the good news ended.......both the fish and scampi were undercooked with fairly soggy batter. The chips, although a very large, were sadly lacking in the taste department! I suspect that both the scampi and fish were fried from frozen killing the taste. Both my wife and I could only struggle through half of our meals before giving up - we were quite hungry!This fish and chip shop should really concentrate on quality rather than quantity! However top marks to the staff for knowing what a wally is (no not that wally! but a pickled gherkin!)

you get good size portions too big sometimes to finish, the bloke behind the counter is very funny and jokes with you if you are waiting for your food. food is good and very good value for money getting a fish and chip supper for only £5.50 much cheaper then bardsleys.

Fish was ok but used to be a lot better. Chips and batter need to be more crisp. Really good service and nice people behind the counter.
