Uncle Sams in Brighton and Hove

Been eating here since I was a teenager, far too many years ago. Absolutely fabulous burgers every time, and the chilli dip is so awesome they sell it by the tub! It's good food and you'll have to wait for it to be cooked but that's why it's so very good and not garbbed off a shelf. It's now become my son's favourite burger joint too. If all you've ever eaten is the truly dreadful McD's, do yourself a huge favour and try one of these. You'll never sully yourself with their junk again.

I live two streets up .for some unknown reason the courier when up by Brighton station to get to my place which is one street over from Waitrose in Western rd my food is now cold and you only give me a £4 refund from a £15 order

VERY BAD!!!! I ordered this at 16.33 and it was delivered 18.40, cold,burgers were squashed beyond belief. I really don't think I should have to pay for this!!! I wasn't able to cancel the order at any point in the TWO HOURS it took to get here.

Food never came ! Said it was delivered! Phoned the restaurant nothing they could do as it was just eat driver !

I've been walking past Uncle Sam's for years on my way to The Hole In The Wall for swift half. I was pleasently suprised with the chicken wrap. Chicken stripes covered in a crispy batter, light salad and garlic mayo in a wrap. Made to order so fresh £5.50. I sat on the provided seat on the street. Great result!

A little seaside treat on a sunny afternoon! Had heard good things about Uncle Sam’s from fellow burger fans! Popped by twice in the last couple months - well worth giving it a go! A hidden gem within the hustle and bustle of the seafront - blink and you’ll miss it kinda place The shop operates out of a tuck-shop style window - serving up fresh beef, chicken and veggie burgers. Great value and meal deals are available too! It’s takeaway only, though there is a small table to grab if you can! Service was super quick, both chefs I spoke to were really polite and super friendly. Great vibes and long may Uncle Sam’s live on! Will be back soon 🍔

Food was really cold. ordered large but only minimal fries delivered, bad show! no salt for the fries or not even salted. Burger bun over cooked and tough. This was such a disappointment as usually amazing. What a waste of money... Delivery was the only good thing!

Uncle Sam’s Montpelier rd has got worst and worst over the last 10 years, the owners seem to have no clue about food, firstly the chilli has no heat before it was actually a chilli burger hot, when people order that they want something spicy not tamed down for everybody it’s a choice, secondly the burgers arrive stone cold, because the salad and chilli are refrigerated crazy makes the burger cold instantly, the buns are too big for the burger Pattie, and they are vegan in case one in a million Vegans want to eat there, it’s a hamburger restaurant no vegans will ever eat there because the bun gets toasted on the same grill as the meat, so it’s at the expense of all there loyal customers me being one since I was 10 now I’m 50 now , which moron makes all theses terrible decision. Probably a vegan and it cost 28 pounds for that. Rubbish

The delivery time was being constantly extended and when it was finally delivered (1.5 hours after ordering when the original guide said no more than 40 mins) it was freezing. Not good at all

I remember twenty years ago living a couple of buildings up the street from Montpelier Uncle Sam's. My favourite burger was a blue cheese but the top combo was definitely the All Star Meal Deal. Just shut up and pay the extra for a shake instead. I remember walking to the end of the street to watch the West Pier burn for half an hour and then collecting a burger before eating it sitting on my doorstep. Uncle Sam's - a true Brighton institution. H

Hit a busy time and kept being delayed but I was kept aware of the situation. Food not great, burgers where disappointing! Hardly any salad/ filling in the burgers, pretty sad looking and tasting. Really not up to Uncles Sams standard! It was a treat for a special night, think again about ordering from them...

Good cheeseburger, the chips were fresh and tasty. No space to eat inside that other places e.g. B are recommended for this.

I've been going to this branch for the past 15 years and can vouch that Montpellier is without a doubt the best....Rifai is a great asset to the restaurant. If I were you I’d ask for no lettuce in the burgers I’ve always loved uncle Sam’s but recently there has been brown lettuce arriving in the burgers and that just puts me off.. otherwise the food is lovely

10/10 all round. Delicious hot food here so quick every time, never anything missed on the order, perfect chips with salt provided always. The delivery guy today was an absolute legend, excellent banter. Always great stuff from this place.

As it's takeaway only, no way can you have atmosphere, waiting in Montpelier for your order to be fulfilled. Quick service, and burger well filled.

Ordered before and had no problems with food quality but this time the burger patties were very dry and it wasn't as hot as it had been last time I ordered. Still arrived on time and driver was very polite

I got chips, mozzarella sticks, a veggie burger and a drink, and it arrived early, piping hot and missing nothing - they even gave me salt for the chips, which I really appreciate, a lot of places don’t. The chips were crispy and fluffy too which is also quite rare with deliveries. One thing, for completely honest feedback, the veggie burger (the one with with veggie bacon and salad etc) was nice, but had a very unpleasant and strong after taste. I don’t know what it was, perhaps an abundance of red onion, but I couldn’t actually identify it. Maybe a flavour combination in there was clashing or something. It would have been a lovely burger other than that. Will definitely order again though, thank you :)

Fast delivery. Food was good but a little soggy because of being packed steaming. But can't be helped. Overall good service tasty food and speedy delivery. Very happy.

Great trade-off in burgers. The simpler the better and you cannot miss the sides. I always ask for the Cheeseburger meal and additional side of Mozzarella fingers to share.

Food was delivered cold. Unable to eat so had to use the oven. The large portion of fries was tiny, the chips were the skinniest, smaller I’ve ever seen. The veggie burger was ok, however extremely average. Do not recommend it, rip off.

Oh my golly, this was excellent. I was very impressed by the delivery time and the food is fantastic. The burger relish is like some sort of Austrian mountain water it's absolutely delicious. The chips were hotter than a camel's kneecap and the chicken nuggets weren't too prescriptive. The first sip of the milkshake I could only say one thing... "Fires of Winslow Hills, this is incredible!" ... Would definitely recommend. Bye for now.

The Hamburgers from Montpelier have gone downhill. The buns they use are just disgusting. The meat was dry and the relish was sparse. Very disappointing. I had one recently from Hollingbury and they were so much better.

There was a time when Uncle Sams Burgers worth the price they were charging. This is not the case any more. The chicken bites used to be amazing but are clearly now just pre-bought chicken nuggets called something different. The Chicken Burger I had barely had anything in it which wasn't a bad thing as it was easily the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. We have an unusual address so I always make a note on my orders but they failed to let the driver and so he was wandering around for 10 mins trying to find us, obviously the food was stone cold by the time it got here. Wont be ordering from here again

Wig-The milkshakes are another level Els-Can’t remember the last time I had one Gilliam-I was desperate for a number 2 once on the way home from college and the guy working there wouldn't let me use the toilet without buying something. I didn't have any money so i pooed my pants about 200yrds up the road Wills-Our biggest burger from uncle Sam’s is unbelievable Harris-I had the double chilli and cheese and Hannah had the chicken and cheese. We both had chips and a strawberry milkshake. We asked for salt, ketchup and mayo and these came in sachets which I didn’t like , when he saw we were staying he gave us a tomato in a tub and salt shaker. The burgers were good. We liked them. And the chips too and we really really liked our shakes. It was the boys birthday and we sang him happy birthday. Nice lad, is going to Spain in 3 weeks a festival with his mates over summer. They didn’t take card but we just went to the amc. Sat in .

Fantastic value for money! I ordered the cheese burger with fries, and my partner got the same but with a soft drink for all £12!!! The food was made fresh, think crunchy lettuce in the burger and pipping hot crispy salty chips. Highly recommend. Skip the golden arches, and go to Uncle Sams instead. I will be back!
