The staff at the shop were friendly and chatted with me, so it was fun! !

I popped in here after seeing all the good reviews online. I ordered some chips which were freshly cooked in front of me. They were fine for what they were and served open in paper which was nice. The man serving was very friendly.

Purchased Large Chips and spam fritters from Uber eats meal arrived by bicycle !!! Portion of chips was lukewarm and spam fritter was just that one slice of spam for £4.00 complete rip off will not be using Brighton chippy again !!! Tried to ring to complain but phone engaged constantly !!!

Quick service and very polite. But the chips were awful, the fish average and the curry sauce watery. Disappointing

Fresh cooked while you wait. Fish was excellent and so many chips. For just over £10 is excellent value. They put on as little or as much vinegar and salt as I wanted too. Great service. Would have been nice to sit and eat but it is takeaway only (shop is tiny)

Had the best fried fish in UK ever! Thank you very much for Ash(Chef of the shop), as he was extremely nice to let me eat in the shop. Truly recommend this fish and chips takeaway located just next to Brighton station. Excellent quality, Reasonable price and Nice service!

Worst burger I have ever paid money for. I don't know how drunk you'd have to be in order to enjoy this, but you'd have a better experience if you took that £5 note and threw it into the sea.

A group of us went in to order food. My friend who has a SEVERE peanut allergy, ordered but didn’t see the the sign stating that the business uses peanut oil, due to another customer standing in front of it. After realising, my friend asked for a refund (literally 10secs after ordering). But the guy got angry & refused stating he doesn’t do refunds. The rudeness from him put the rest of us off wanting to order anything but he still refused to give a refund. What a horrible business! The man is a thief. Why don’t you put your signage on the door for customers to see clearer. Will never return and don’t recommend for others to either. You should be ashamed of yourself “Ash”.

Just visited this store and will never return. About 10 seconds after ordering I realised the food was cooked in peanut oil (I have a severe allergy). I asked kindly for a refund and there was no valid answer as to why I couldn’t have one. No kindess or consideration was offered.

Overpriced. No supper option so I paid £3.50 for chips and £6.50 for a small fish. My friends got the medium fish and it was still small. The batter was not as light as it should be. Sauce costs extra.

Proximity to the railway station is a plus for this place. Other than that, the food was average at best. The chips could have had longer in the cooking (I was in no hurry), and the sausage was bordering on anemic and was obviously a cheaply sourced one (that's how it tasted). I could only manage a few of the chips, they realle were no good.

Terrible service. Staff refused to give me a VAT receipt (so I could claim the money back) and was rude about it. When I asked for a refund that was also refused. Also I ordered a large Cod and was given a small one. Chips were average at best. Awful! Do not come here!

I placed an order....my food turned up...and the curry sauce I ordered to go with food...was all over ...literally the paper was dripping with it....went nice on my cream floor....by the time I managed to get my food out it was flat cold....I tried ringing....but they didn't answer!!

Wow! What a knock out. I had a large haddock and it was cooked to perfection light and crispy batter. The chips too were outstanding. Located opposite Brighton Train Station ideal for the day trip traveller or those two minutes staying at the I is a two minutes walk. Can fully recommend.

Went here for mushy peas and portion of chips. After I saw one of the staff members heating up a portion of mushy peas in a polystyrene cup in the microwave I decided to just have the chips. The chips were quite stale and not cooked well. For a chippy on the coast I would expect a lot better, but this is one of the worst chippies I’ve ever had.

I had a delicious cod & chips and a portion of onion rings. All items were freshly fried, so there was a short wait. The staff were friendly and helpful too. A further plus was that the shop seems to be open late.

Too much oily food. Secondly, shop keeper is a thief. He will add large chips as extra price when you order for fish

I would say this is a properly reliable fish and chip shop. I've only had the chips but have used it for 20 years and have never been disappointed. Great location and open late. Best option near to the station!

Best chippy in brighton. No good for nut allergies as the oil used is peanut oil, but this does make for amazing chips, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside, the batter and fish always tastes fresh and they do a good spam fritter too.

Customer service: I will rate him zero. Reason: We took three full meal and portion chips the guy wanted to put everything in one bag when I asked him to put it in separate bags he wasn’t happy and reluctant. Second reason he forced me to pay him cash and only took £12.98 by card ( Proven Tax cheater). Thirdly fish was rubbish no crispy but watery not well cooked. So please don’t eat this rubbish taste fish.

Awful customer Service, I have never been trated so bad in my entire life. Staff was ignoring me, despiste I was saying "Hello" Just because he judged me and thought I would not be a customer. Awful, would never recommend to anyone!

I dont recommend the reasons is that quantity of chips are low. Large fish size is equal to small fish size as compared to other shops. Prices are extremely high like 4 to 5 pounds more than market price. And cooking oil quality is bad as they less change it making it worse. We came from london to Brighton but had bad experience.

£12.30 for Medium sized Cod & Chips. Their medium size I would say was small. Plenty of chips. The fish batter and chips were all fresh so just about worth the money

It tasted very good and the service was very nice. Since it was my first time in England and I ate fish and chips for the first time, the waiter gave me advice and quickly prepared my meal. The restaurant is very small and looks a bit sad, but otherwise all good.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!!! We bought 2 fish / 1 chips / 2 peas and a curry sauce . The fish was defiantly not cooked fresh as we thought it would be as there wasn’t any in the top counter .the chips were cooked whilst we waited so they were ok . I should have known when he washed out a mug and filled it with water what he was doing but it wasn’t till we sat down to eat that I found NO peas just watered down green liquid and watered down curry . I spent 6 years working in our local chippy so I expected great things of a chippy that promotes them selves as Brightons Best , TRUST ME THIS IS BRIGHTONS WORST

We was staying near Brighton station so this was our natural choice for seaside fish n chips. Wasn’t disappointed,it was cooked fresh so a little wait but we’ll worth it as it was as good as I’d had.

I found the chips really nice says it’s cooked in peanut oil. Also food cooked to order so all fresh and hot, you order and wait outside as busy little shop. I did find it difficult when mine was ready as could not hear the man behind the Perspex screen. Only had chips very nice

Worst fish and chips ever, oily and very expensive, avoid

By far my favourite fish and chips so far in my travels around England. Not normally a fan of malt vinegar and salt on my chips but it really made the chips so much better and the was more than enough chips. The fish itself was not over coated and tasted very fresh. What more could you ask for. So glad I avoided the places along the beach .

Food was poor quality andy curry sauce spilt all over the whole bag so it was completely ruined. The delivery was also late so that was the just the icing on the cake. Haven't got a refund for any of the food!

Chips are good, the vinegar is wholly inadequate and tastes like water. I suspect a synthetic. Ketchup is an extra... Fix the vinegar and it could be four or five stars. Staff are nice and friendly, seems clean and is no plastic which is outstanding. Price was reasonable if good vinegar.

Charges .50p for sauces like ketchup and mayonnaise. I felt a bit fleeced. Chips usually come with at least basic sauce included. edit: appreciate response from the company

I believe it can be a better experience for me. But see picture below. I biked from London to Brighton to get fish and chips (or fries as we like to call them) and I got fish and chips and hair. My appetite was lost automatically. Never trust a place with hairy people with no nets nor hats. My goodness. It's got pubic characteristics which made it even worse..

Waited a fair while for a chicken burger with no lettuce & minimal mayo. Decent quality chicken patty & bun, although the bun came with than unnecessary loose flour dusted on top, which is even more annoying when you don’t get napkins. Glad it’s open late, and prices are reasonable for the location, but overall pretty shoddy tbh. Would recommend going to the kebab shop down the road to the South

The guy was rude! The prices are over the roof. Paid £9 for cod and chips but ended with fillet and chip.

We visit Brighton Chippy regularly when we travel to Brighton. The food is always very good and service is quick. Fish is fresh and tasty. Highly recommend to try it :)

Lovely people ordered food which looked great but I stupidly missed the massive sign saying cooked in peanut oil. Despite paying on card they immediately refunded me in cash even though it was my fault. My friend ate from there and said it was amazing !!!!

The fish and chips were amazing.We got the medium cod & chips and it was so filling.Excellent and super fast service from the staff.They were extra nice and gave us a bag of free chips.I highly recommend coming here for fish& chips in Brighton!!

Nice fish cakes and chips handy baked beans and Dr Pepper reasonable price not do keen on the spring roll. Handy for train station area and Ibis Hotel.

Of course I had to try some fish and chips when in Brighton. After reading some super bad reviews on a lot of places at seafront I ended up trying this place before boarding the train home. I really enjoyed they took their time and frying my fish after order, so it was served super fresh. The small one was more than enough for me and I would be more than happy with a small chips as well, but that they don’t offer on the menu. All in all it was a good fish and chips.

Friendly staff, good batter, nice chips, good portion size. Good variety for a small chip shop too. And really reasonable prices. Shop could look a little nicer though - interior decor and design is lacking and that which there is does nothing for the space. Hoping they want to hire me to dress the shop 😉

Seems to have changed ownership, great cod and chips! A bit over priced but very tasty.

Bought some chips a few weeks agon for my journey back to London. I can honestly say they were the worst chips I've ever had. Brown, filled with old oil. I discarted them as the were inedible. They were either cooked several times or the oil was so old it had burnt them....

Woweee. Was in a rush for a train and these boyos sorted me out with a cracking portion of chippys. Had 4 mins to get the train and they got me the chippys in 2 minutes. They were delicious. Much love, chip gang

Possibly the worst chips in Brighton - over-cooked in old oil, the chips were a dark brown colour (not golden like they should be) and very greasy. Also, not many big chips, it was more a bag of the little off-cuts. The funny thing is, we said to each other before we went in that it's hard to cook chips badly. How wrong we were!

Great fish and chips, very tasty and good service. Lost one point on the mushy peas which was more like soup but still tasty. Definitely recommend this place.

I count myself as a bit of a fish and chips guru and this place didn’t hit any of the targets. Nearly £19 for a large cod and a medium Haddock, one medium chips, and a saveloy. First of all I was served with two Haddocks; the batter was gooey and too soft; the chips were just awful and greasy: the saveloy was just ok. Won’t be going back again: it’s very poor quality and over priced.

I read the reviews about this chip shop and was happy to try them but unfortunately ( last Thursday) the chips had black eyes in them and had definitely been refried ( maybe to heat them up) as they were rubberised. The cod was very flat and thin that you couldn't distinguish it from the batter. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but at £18 for 2 x Cod and Chips It was extremely disappointing.!!!

Great having this so close to the station. (Was) Great value (£1.60 for chips - Nov 2016 £2.00 - Jun 2018 £2.40 Feb 2021) - and mushy peas for £1.50 is steep. They'll charge you for ketchup though. There is a small cod option which is small enough to eat with your hands. Excellent. However chips were cardboard. Probably better at busy times. Sometimes see the proprietor standing outside smoking - off-putting.

It was OK, just a bit greasy. My Mum said it was nice fish and the chips were good. Just please don't use UberEats to order, they're useless and our delivery took way way longer than it should have, luckily the food was still warm thanks to the shop. Go collect it yourself if you can 😉👍

Happy to say its my local and new favourite. Freshly cooked, fish was really good. Chips fluffy. The price was really reasonable too. £7 for cod and chips in Brighton is great. The staff with the long hair was really friendly. Nice customer service, looked clean too. Update A year later they are still as good!

Used UberEats for the first time. The order was wrong and the food delivered was greasy. Won’t do that again. Use a different delivery firms and buy from a different chippy. Now have to try and get our money back!!!

Very grumpy, had to rush to get our train and not very accomodating. Wasn't really interested in helping. Nice fish and chips though.

Dropped in at six in the evening on Friday and unfortunately for me experienced the worst cheesy chips (with a free hair stuck in them) I have ever had. They were hard, chewy and very obviously not fresh, served while the member of staff was on the phone the whole time. When I complained to my colleagues I was asked “You didn’t go across the road did you?” Apparently I’m not the first to complain. Pity, I do love cheesy chips. Oh well, sure there is another nearby.

The fish is lovely, in great batter. Good chips too, with an easy dispensing Heinz ketchup satchet. It is takeaway only, but you can sit and eat them in the station opposite and watch the world go by.

Ask for a chicken burger, got something that didn’t taste like chicken in a burnt bun with mayonnaise you can’t taste no salad. Thought this will do for my journey! Not! My dog wouldn’t eat it

We ordered small and medium cod and chips. The small cod was more like a medium. The medium was more like a large. Light batter,not overcooked. The cod was thick and tasty. Resonably priced. 10 minute brisk walk to the seafront if you want to eat with a view. Its by the train station with no seating as its take away only. Give it a go.

Fantastic fish & chips, and rated a lot better than most on the sea front. There is no indoor seating but that's not an issue if you need to get a train! However we got on the train to realise he had not put forks in the bag which was a little frustrating!

This place do take away only. Simple, fast and cheap fish and chip restaurant. Me and my friend ordered larged fried cod for 7 pounds to share. This did filled our stomash.

Excellent chippery, the fish was so tasty and fresh. Conveniently located near the station and the service is really quick. Highly recommend.
