Sausage: 4.0 – You beauty! Two girthy, delicious, coarse-filled crackers. These are proper butcher quality without a doubt, leagues above your regular cafe banger. Herby with Actual Pieces Of Meat, no tubes of wallpaper paste here, splendid. Other Ingredients: 3.5 - Big slices of buttered toast came out first and made me wonder if I'd get even halfway through this breakfast. HB not crispy due to a fried egg overcoat. Beans and mushrooms standard but plentiful and piping hot, as was the rest of this plateful. Thick bacon was cooked how I like but with the slightest hint of bacon *****. Two lovely runny yolks helped the dryer bits and bobs slip down the gullet nicely. Staff & Stuff: 3.5 - Two friendly ladies provided the table service. Smiley and chatty, it certainly helps improve the visit. Just five tables in this place, small but perfectly formed and spotlessly clean. Tea in a branded mug is a nice touch, more infant school cutlery though. VFM: 4.0 – £9.70 for this lovely plate of tasty fried yumminess in pleasant, welcoming surroundings. Everything in the picture included in the price, ask for the Big Builder's Breakfast. Total: 15 out of 20

Quite simply the best breakfast in Newark bar none. Cooked to perfection with your own choice of items. Get there early to guarantee a seat and enjoy the breakfast with your tea or coffee. Perfection.

What a lucky find. On our way for a few days away we decided to stop for breakfast. Newark was only a few miles away and we stumbled across Jenny’s. The ladies in there were very friendly and we hadn’t been seated many minutes and our order for hot drinks was taken. We all opted for caramel latte and they arrived very quickly and I can honestly say they were the nicest and hottest latte I have ever had. For breakfast 3 of us had poached eggs with bacon, mushrooms and toast and the other one had the large breakfast. The food was cooked to perfection and was so tasty. I can thoroughly recommend and would definitely go back. Lovely start to the holiday.

Over the Christmas period we visited a few places for breakfast. Jenny’s was one we went to a few times after discovering how good their sausages are. I always judge a cafe by service and sausages. Both were fine I can tell you. Although only 5/6 tables they had 3 staff and we were served very quickly. You can tell all the food except possibly the eggs are precooked but they didn’t taste stale at all. Young lady serving us was very pleasant and the breakfast was delicious to two starving shoppers. But the sausages were the highlight for me, proper butchers sausages and meaty too. A buster of a breakfast for under a tenner for me is a bargain. Jenny we will be back

Travelling back from Bedford to Manchester Newark is about halfway and our son knew of this small café. To get there heading north you take the first Newark sign (B6326) Straight over the roundabout and past Sainsbury's; Jenny's is on the right opposite Lidl. The area of Newark is Balderton. See the facebook page for opening times. We will certainly be calling there again.

Small cafe on the main road going into town. Called in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Friendly & welcoming. Good choice & value. Not trying to be something it isn't which is really refreshing these days. Cakes looked delicious but they are for next time!!

Went for Sunday lunch with family. All the staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was good - nice to have a pianist playing while we ate. However the vegan version of the roast dinner wasn’t great. There was a nut roast listed on the website menu however when we got there it had been replaced by a different option. It was a spiced cauliflower patty which tasted good but didn’t fit on a roast dinner IMO. We were told that the mash wasn’t vegan so we would get extra roast potatoes instead, but we only got three small roasties each and when we queried this, we were told you usually only get two. The greens were inconsistent; I had a pile of kale while my cousin had green beans. The carrots and parsnips were rock hard (and cooked with honey so not truly vegan). The vegan dinner felt a bit measly compared to the others, with very little effort to substitute items or present a filling plate of food worth the price tag.

Four very nice meals. We had a rib eye steak, pie of the day, vegetarian wellington, & liver & bacon. Well presented & served with a smile. Waited about 25 minutes - good time for fresh tasty food. Followed by sticky toffee pudding & cheesecakes. Nothing left on plates! Clean throughout with ample close by parking. Thank you. Very reasonable prices. Will return.

Gentleman welcomed us and was so helpful and accommodating. Beautifully decorated for autumn/Halloween. Comfortable bay seating. Couple of steps into cafe, toilets upstairs. Wonderful porridge and extensive breakfast combo menu. Great food and lovely staff in a pretty cafe, could not ask for more.

Birthday luncheon, we hadn't planned to come here, we met a butcher at Rutland show, he had just opened a bistro in Sherwood, unfortunately is was not open today. Being probably the hottest day of the year I did not want to travel too far, we have seen Launay's on a previous visit to Edwinstowe. We were the on dinners in the restaurant. I found the chairs a little too low and not quite supportive. Starters which we share were salmon wasabi pea puree and fennel citrus sperified balls, absolutely fantastic then chorizo cumberland and a wonderfully cooked egg. Mains, fried pulled pork and a sousvide steak, I had to try it because I sousvide at home, however I felt that it lacked taste and was a little dry. the tomato relish was pretty good, served in an old marmalade jar. dessert was to die for, basil cheesecake with micro lemon balm Definitely be back to ravage the a la carte menu
