Wonderful welcome, delicious, freshly cooked, quality breakfast. The biggest best menu I've seen for a breakfast at any hotel. Nice couple running the place. Always go for food. Cosy, homely and clean. Highly recommend. The lady who owns it really is so attentive and friendly, nothing is a problem, very accommodating and flexible

So refreshing to stay in a hotel which is a privately run family business run extremely well with a more personal touch to the bland chain hotels. Welcoming bar and fabulous breakfasts. Very good value for money. Perfect location in the centre of Newark.

My stay was a nightmare. I did the mistake of booking through Booking.com and not only paid more but on arrival the lady Carol additionally charged me (with no warning) with Carparking; apparently this is included if booked direct. I was not happy with this and declined the use of Carpark. The money was returned but she harassed me. She would not allowed me to download my luggage while the car was in the parking. She would not even release the room keys despite payment already done. I had to first take my car out of the Carpark and then return to collect keys. The room was ok however very warm and unable to control room temperature. Bedding thick winter type and quite warm throughout the night and difficult to sleep. Noisy traffic street. Shower cabin very tight. Biscuits in a jar not hygienic. For the price they charge they could have treated me with more courtesy and provide better. Interestingly as I leave they send me an email requesting a good Google review or phone them to sort out any issues, so I would not trust these reviews. Thank you

Lovely family runned Inn. Claire was lovely with great hospitality! Although the room I was in was slightly small for x2 people and to get into the narrow lane to the car park at the back, you have to go in from a main road. The whole weekend spent there was lovely with no issues.

I rarely give 5 stars for excellent. But quite honestly I couldn’t fault this breakfast. It was absolutely delightful. I’ve had breakfast here before and have always come back, whenever I’m in town. It was a surprise, that it was even better on this visit. Ok the surrounding aren’t fancy, but what it lacks in a stylish surroundings, it makes up for with quite honestly with great food. I didn’t stay the night, just pop in for breakfast. I’ve recently stayed in several expensive hotel in Suffolk and honestly, this was by far the best breakfast. The quality of the products, purchased and made in house are so high. My sister and I who visited are real foodies and invariably hard to please when eating out. We both agreed, that the breakfast was excellent. If I lived locally, I’d be treating myself to breakfast more often. We have visited Newark for years and the Beaumont cross inn hadn’t been on our radar. I think because it hasn’t got kerb appeal, or isn’t in the market area, it’s easy overlooked. But avoid it and miss out on a real treat. I will absolutely be back on my next visit.

We booked a table for two for Thursday at 6pm. We were greeted by a chap who was very welcoming and enthusiastic about the food on offer. Nice to see. The place filled up quickly so there must be a good reputation to get repeat business. And if our experience is anything to go by, it is well deserved. The food, rabbit pie and fish pie with loads of veg, is as close as you could get to homemade and very plentiful, with local produce. This is a great spot in a historic location. The total for the two of us with drinks and service charge was £78.

Service was very personable and excellent. The atmosphere relaxed, warm and friendly. In a way large chains cant achieve, this is a family run concern. Lunch time was quiet, with only a few locals at the bar. We didnt mind this, the busy times being around hotel guests at breakfast and dinner. Also beautiful presented with lots of hanging baskets and the outside newly painted. An old 18th century coach house retaining lots of character, a gem in Newark. This was our 2nd lunch time visit for a very tasty slap up meal, for a birthday celebration . Menu was varied, with the tasty pies taking centre stage. However I opted for the fish, which was one of the freshest most delicious I have tasted. Menu stating is is wild caught. And perfectly cooked. Whilst my partner opted for a steak pie. With lots of gravy. Veg and chips were also perfectly cooked. For desert I had the treacle pudding with ice cream. Which was yummy and not too heavy. No hesitation in recommending for a special meal and if we were in the area again would love to stay, either in one of the bedrooms or the cottages next door recently purchased and refurbished.

Four of us with three of us choosing the pie (duck, lamb and braised beef) with each pie having their respective gravies. One of the party opted for the breakfast. And said it was the best breakfast ever especially with homemade sausage. The chips were incredible the veggies amazing too. We stayed 2 nights here and it was great. I would have rated it 5 stars but I don't want to raise people's expectations as it's a tad different to "standard" hotels but that is part of it's charm. Breakfast is amazing. So much choice and all freshly made/cooked. Lots of great vegan/veggie options as well. The bar is small but it has a good offering with a comfortable lounge. There is good parking available and the hotel is very central so easy walking distance to lots of places. Be aware there might be some road noise but that's the price to be paid for being so central. Our room was large as we chose the superior room with a lovely power shower. It's not luxurious but it was clean with a great bed and they have gone out of their way to ensure you have everything in the room plus a few extras that you wouldn't expect. The family who run the hotel are very committed and work hard to ensure it's an enjoyable stay. I would definitely return and definitely recommend it.

An absolute gem of a place. A family run cosy, friendly inn which puts hospitality and food top of its priorities. We were wonderfully looked after by the owner Paul's Mum and Dad. The menu was varied and different - it was difficult to choose but the homemade pies were great, as was the shank of lamb. Absolutely everything is homemade, even the jam at breakfast. Paul believes in sourcing local top quality ingredients. He clearly has a loyal team to help as well as his parents. Special mention too goes to Agnes who never stops! Our room at the top was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The inn is very close to the town centre and has on-site parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights.

Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at the Beaumond Cross Inn and was thoroughly impressed with the experience - the level of service and the comfort experience was outstanding. From the moment I arrived, the hosts made us feel right at home. Their hospitality and attention to detail truly set the tone for a wonderful stay. The room was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. The cozy ambiance added to the charm of the place, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The room was peaceful with no traffic noise. The dinner of vegan pasta and salad was excellent - in presentation as well as the taste. The vegetarian breakfast served in the morning was delightful - fresh ingredients and tasty made a memorable start to the hectic day. The B&B is conveniently located near key attractions, yet offers a peaceful and quiet environment. It’s the perfect balance of accessibility and tranquility. Small details in the room and a selection of local guidebooks, showed the hosts' dedication to providing a personalized experience. While the B&B may have a 3-star rating, the service and overall experience felt much closer to a 5-star establishment. I cannot recommend this place to anyone because it is overpriced to the point of rip off! The pie dishes are £19.99 each for a pie barely the size of a mince pie. Small dogs are allowed but the only downside is that there isn’t any grass on the grounds for the dogs to go out and quickly do their business. There is a park down the road if need be though. All in all,a lovely little place which we will stay at again when visiting Newark.

My partner and I stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend. It really is a great place to stay. Carole and her team (family) are lovely, helpful and make you feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and well ventilated. You have plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk with an option of herbal teas. There is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room too. In the en suite you have plenty of towels and toilet paper along with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The room had plenty of antibacterial wipes, spray and paper towels. In the morning there was a breakfast bar well stocked. The are plenty of options on the menu to choose from, Breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Gluten free and vegetarian. Pets are welcome too. Will definitely be coming to stay with you again.

This 'little gem' of a hotel has it all. Comfortable accommodation, excellent menu choices, friendly service, private parking, all wrapped into one perfect bundle. If you are planning a visit to Newark and need somewhere to stay look no further than Beaumont Cross Hotel, it is situated within easy walking distance of the whole town centre.

I came across the Beaumond by accident. I needed somewhere to stay at short notice and my wife booked me in while I was on the road. I expected to find a down to earth, no nonsense town centre pub. I got all of this and much much more. The guest house was easy to find and there was ample, safe off street parking to the rear. I received an excellent welcome and was shown to my room. A good size, spotlessly clean and full of facilities, everything you could ask for. Fresh milk in the fridge was a particular highlight. The bathroom was well appointed with a good strong shower and excellent water pressure. The bed was very comfortable, well placed reading lights, and I had a relaxing night and slept very well. Food was excellent. I enjoyed one of the cavalier pies and a great pint from the local Pheasant Brewery. The bar had book shelves packed with books so I had a good read as I was on my own. I would happily recommend the Beaumond unreservedly for a great stay. I look forward to my next visit and I hope it will be soon.

The owners and staff were all helpful and friendly, and the hotel had a homely feel to it. I had one breakfast, which was well cooked and included a homemade sausage and good quality bread. The room was clean and well equipped, including an iron and mini fridge. Also in a good location close to the town centre.

We stayed at this Inn as we had a wedding in the area. The hosts were most accommodating and we were able to get ready in our rooms, have a sandwich before we left (which was delicious) and got help booking taxis for the evening. We stayed 2 nights and nothing was too much trouble. the breakfasts were delicious too. We would not hesitate to stay again. Great for Newark town visiting.

Well what can I say about this place. After looking on hotels.com for a place to stay for my travels I stumbled across this b&b set in a lovely area I was greeted by the host and shown the property and upon checking in I found it to be very well equipped. With cereal, drinks and breakfast already made ready for the morning I felt very welcomed. The self contained studio is beautiful. Very quiet and had everything I needed. Really felt like I was at home. I travel a lot with having my own business and I spent a lot of time in hotels and b&b’s and this one has to be my favourite so far. If your thinking about booking this place for your stay then you can be assured that you’ll have a great vacation whether it’s short term or long term. I was here for one night only but I could spend weeks here. A*****

Four very nice meals. We had a rib eye steak, pie of the day, vegetarian wellington, & liver & bacon. Well presented & served with a smile. Waited about 25 minutes - good time for fresh tasty food. Followed by sticky toffee pudding & cheesecakes. Nothing left on plates! Clean throughout with ample close by parking. Thank you. Very reasonable prices. Will return.

Went for Sunday lunch with family. All the staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was good - nice to have a pianist playing while we ate. However the vegan version of the roast dinner wasn’t great. There was a nut roast listed on the website menu however when we got there it had been replaced by a different option. It was a spiced cauliflower patty which tasted good but didn’t fit on a roast dinner IMO. We were told that the mash wasn’t vegan so we would get extra roast potatoes instead, but we only got three small roasties each and when we queried this, we were told you usually only get two. The greens were inconsistent; I had a pile of kale while my cousin had green beans. The carrots and parsnips were rock hard (and cooked with honey so not truly vegan). The vegan dinner felt a bit measly compared to the others, with very little effort to substitute items or present a filling plate of food worth the price tag.

Gentleman welcomed us and was so helpful and accommodating. Beautifully decorated for autumn/Halloween. Comfortable bay seating. Couple of steps into cafe, toilets upstairs. Wonderful porridge and extensive breakfast combo menu. Great food and lovely staff in a pretty cafe, could not ask for more.

Birthday luncheon, we hadn't planned to come here, we met a butcher at Rutland show, he had just opened a bistro in Sherwood, unfortunately is was not open today. Being probably the hottest day of the year I did not want to travel too far, we have seen Launay's on a previous visit to Edwinstowe. We were the on dinners in the restaurant. I found the chairs a little too low and not quite supportive. Starters which we share were salmon wasabi pea puree and fennel citrus sperified balls, absolutely fantastic then chorizo cumberland and a wonderfully cooked egg. Mains, fried pulled pork and a sousvide steak, I had to try it because I sousvide at home, however I felt that it lacked taste and was a little dry. the tomato relish was pretty good, served in an old marmalade jar. dessert was to die for, basil cheesecake with micro lemon balm Definitely be back to ravage the a la carte menu
