Never delivered, uncontactable by phone.

The food didn’t hang around long enough for a second glance, which is usually a good sign. But let’s address the bhajis: they were… well, there. That’s about all I can say. They lacked any real conviction in the flavour department, a sort of half-hearted gesture towards what a bhaji should be. But I’m not launching a formal complaint here because the king prawn purée was spot on, spicy, but not a test of endurance, just the right amount of heat to wake up the taste buds. The tikka masala? A nostalgic hit, delivering exactly what you’d hope for when revisiting an old favourite, a dish that hasn’t graced my palate in years. The rice? Impeccable, light, and a clean break from any excess grease, which, let’s be fair, you expect with bhajis. It wasn’t perfect, but it ticked the boxes where it mattered.

I cannot put into words how inept and rude the staff are at Jeera. They are utterly useless and have messed up every single order we have purchased from them. Annoyingly the food is pretty good, but, there isn’t much competition for Indian cuisine around Romsey. Business owners like those at Jeera don’t deserve any custom at all. A complete disgrace.

Absolutely terrible service, staff were made aware of allergies on the table, yet still prepared and displayed the food with it touching other food on the buffet plate, I refused to eat anything due to this and the staff got very angry at me disregarding the issue. When we finally had to pay, I wanted the service charge taken off the bill (they stated it was 10% when it was more) of which they confirmed we were ‘obligated’ to pay. Genuine concerns of cross contamination within this restaurant I think the food hygiene rating needs to be strongly reconsidered. In addition to this, the appalling staff conduct, food quality (which literally looked like they bought our starters from Aldi and microwaved them up for us) makes it hands down the worst Indian restaurant in romsey if you could even call it that. Avoid like the plague (although I think most people are already doing this as there is never anyone in this place). Shocking.

Order was 2 hours late, all of the food was just sweet with no other taste. When I rang for an update on delivery I was just told it was on the way and arrived 50 mins later. Worst takeout I've ever had!

I ordered a takeaway through their website which uses Foodhub. After 1 hour I checked the progress and said food was delayed and needed to wait 30 minutes more. After 30 minutes I tried to contact them, tried 6 times with no answer. Food arrived 2 hours later and their excuse was that “the roads were closed”, which was a complete lie.

Food took 3 hours to arrive and half was missing, called to request the rest of my meal and have been hung up on by 3/4 members of staff. Awful service won’t be back.

Awful customer service. My partner ordered on just eat this evening and part of the order was missing. He called the restaurant and explained that this was the second time we had ordered and the popadoms had been missing from the order. We were hung up on several times by a very rude women. I then called and spoke to someone who went to give me an answer but again hung up. They had explained that they were very busy but that is no excuse for not sorting out a customers order for items not received and then to keep hanging up on a customer, it is not only incredibly rude but appalling customer service. Incredibly disappointing as we order from the restaurant once a week and have been loyal customers for years. I would invite the manager to contact us to sort this issue.

We did the buffet menu. Food was served very quickly with a happy service. No limit on how much you can eat. Both enjoyed the food and evening.

Absolutely appalling service ordered at 6:30pm on a Thursday night, order due to turn up 7:20. Gave them until 7:30. Asked for an update told 8. 8 past and so called. Was told would be 15 minutes. 15 minutes past, was told would be 2 minutes. Never showed up and delivery cancelled. Called to complain. Was told driver couldn’t find the house. This is an absolute lie as I was waiting on the road for 30 minutes outside the house for them to turn up just so that wouldn’t happen! Horrid service on the phone too. Formal complaint also placed

Ordered delivery on Uber eats. Had a lamb bunha, bombay potatoes, onion barjis, plain naan, garlic & chilli naan, garlic & cheese naan, chicken tandoori starter, poppadoms & garlic spinach. One item was missed from the order. There were no dips or salad for the tandoori chicken, barjis, or poppadoms. The lamb bhuna was completely flavourless and swimming in 2 inches of grease. Barjis tasted stale, and we're too dry and hard. The potatoes were again bland, hard, and lukewarm. The naans were the only things worth eating. I was honestly shocked at how poor the food was. The worst indian I've had by far.

Arrived at 8pm, ordered at 8.12pm and food arrived at 9.10pm! Complained a number of times and the manager said he would give me a pint in the house and charge me for half! So disorganised, complete shambles with service, dropping cutlery and promise after promise made! Worst experience for years in an Indian and will not be returning.

Best Indian restaurant in Romsey

My friends and I enjoyed a really fabulous 2 course buffet. Food was delicious, service exemplary and at £9.95 a head, such brilliant value. Buffet options change nightly, but always three items on offer per course plus sides! Do give it a go!

Had a delivered meal. Promised 30 minutes ended up 1 h 15min. Food wasn't very good and was very greasy.

Only 3 tables occupied on a Saturday night, yet it took them an hour to bring out our food. They brought me the wrong rice and none of our food was hot. My friends said their meals tasted average. Mine was quite good, so they redeem it a bit there. Definitely won’t be returning as an empty restaurant should be much better.

Called in whilst working in the area and the food was fantastic. I had an authentic Dhansak, no sugar, it was excellent. great staff and ice cold Kingfisher what a gem of a restaurant.

Good service with a happy smile. The starters, currys, rice dishes, and extras were all well presented. All were fresh and very tasty. We would recommend a visit if you want a treat, any day of the week 😀

the chicken was dry af and i ordered there special fires with bacon etc when it arrived it had one tiny pice of bacon on top of the fries im not joking and when i called to ask for a refund he kept interrupting me and said that that was what the fries was. absolutely wont be ordering again from here cheap skate

Whilst this restaurant is undergoing some renovation works and therefore aesthetically could have looked better we couldn’t fault the food or service. Hoping the works will be finished soon for a repeat visit.

Last minute decision to go for a curry with friends during a weekend break. Excellent food and superb service, great value for money too. Couldn’t understand why it was empty on a Friday night! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Romsey and I’m sure we will got back

Had a lovely time with my family over dinner. The Indian food is delicious and the prawn starter was the best. Cocktails served were excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for all Indian curry lovers. Best restaurant in Romsey.

We have a take away twice a month. Allows very good. When to eat in for the first time Friday. 5 of us a table of 7 and a table of 2 in the restaurant. It was so cold we all had our jackets on. The large table said to way to cold but nothing was done. They asked for a reduction on the bill of 20% as there night was terrible. They spend £270 a month on take aways. They got 10% off after complaining 4 time's. They are never going to use them again. We got nothing and the owner thought it was funny. We are not using them ever again. I felt sorry for the staff as the boss would not sort it himself. You don't treat your customers like that. Keep away. Use the other one up the road.

Updated Review Dec-22 It's under new management since I last visited, the food has improved - starters were great and main was excellent and service was very friendly. Only thing is could do with a heater or two! Definitely worth going again! Original Review: Visited for the first time, overall the food was good. The starters were a little underwhelming but the main course more than made up for it both good proportions & tasty. As some reviews stated the service was slow but not a major issue. I definatley will visit again soon.

The food was nice, but I spoke to two different, both quite rude staff members in the process of ordering which has completely put me off ordering from this company again! You’d think businesses would be doing all they can to keep customers at the moment, not this business, they couldn’t have been less helpful if they tried.

Used to be a decent restaurant but we have found recently their food quality has been dry and stodgy and that their delivery's have been late and over an hour every time. Dissapointing that the staff when you call are not truthfully or honest about timings.

After a fun evening at the phoenix, we went to go try Jeera. The 4 of us and lemonade & lime nice cold and refreshing. The lamb tikka mossola was tender and delicious. Everything else was good. Highly recommend also the waiters offered us something on our next visit. Unfortunately we came down from London and are staying at the white horse if not this would be our regular spot.

Ordered take out. Although the take-out menu quoted discount for collection, when asked no discount was forthcoming. Curries we’re ok but a bit cold. The mixed grill was dry and unappetising. The Okra was extremely stringy. After a previous good experience, this one was very disappointing and expensive for take out. Won’t be back.

I come to Romsey to see my mother on the weekend. So I though I’d give Jeera a try on my own. The waiter was quick but not rushing me great service. I had a garlic chilli chicken and it was delicious. I would recommend to people to come try here. They even gave complimentary drinks at the end of my meal which helps settle the spices.

Me and my friend came here and this time I also brought along my wife. I had the butter chicken and a peshwari naan and masala sauce it was very good. My wife had a special fried rice and chicken Karahi and she said the food was spot on spice and flavour. My friend had also a Karahi and he also said the same here. We are regulars here and love the food and service. Special bottle rose wine top notch.

Came to Jeera on a Saturday evening. Service was excellent and kind. They always made sure we had everything we need from drinks being topped up, to helping us choose what curry we would prefer. Also gave us complimentary drinks at the end.

Contrary to those who posted negative reviews we visited as a group of two couples yesterday and found the service and food beyond our expectations. The service was polite, efficient yet not intrusive. The quality of the meals was praiseworthy, nicely balanced spices with quality fresh ingredients. If you pass this restaurant by as a result of the negative comments you will have denied yourself of a truly wonderful dining experience. Thank you to the staff and chef at the Jeera, Romsey. We will be back!

I was dinning with my brother, in response to your reply to his review, we asked for plain chicken, no herbs, spices, added flavouring, nothing, what you served was clearly not plain chicken, it was yellow in colour, plain chicken is not yellow it is white. You than tried to bill us for a chicken korma which we did not order or receive. Why bill us for a korma when you claim it was plain chicken. We dined at another Indian restaurant last week, we ordered plain chicken and received plain chicken, its not difficult.

Really unhappy with tonights’s takeaway. I’ve used Jeera multiple times before without any complaint. However, tonight’s delivery turned cold, with no poppadoms (which I paid £3 for) and the tandoori chicken was raw (as per the pictures). Called Jeera to complain about the lack of poppadoms and was told he could have some more delivered in an hour… before he hung up! Won’t order from again. Will drive and collect from Dawat in future.

Used so many times during lock down and recently dinned in. Tonight 2.5 hrs wait for delivery. Phoned and phoned and completely lied 2. Never again 3 hrs later whilst cooking our dinner cold curry left on door step. Staff so rude.

Ordered through Just Eat tonight. Wasn't impressed overall....Special Jeera fries were actually very tasty although chips could have been cooked a little longer (just my preference.) The garlic flatbread was actually stale garlic bread slices, cold, chewy and tasteless...very disappointed considering the price. The chicken was moist but had soggy skin and was overpowered with lemon juice. £5 delivery fee is steep although that's probably more to do with 'Just Eat.' I would give it another try and perhaps try a curry dish & rice, but what I ate tonight was disappointing.

Never again would I spend a single penny of my money here. We ordered a take away as a birthday treat but it sadly was the worst treat ever. We live a five minute car drive from Romsey but it took over an hour and fifteen minutes for the take away to be delivered. We phoned Jeera to complain and once the order finally arrived we had to phone again as half our order was missing. Jeera were incredibly argumentative on the phone and refused to refund us our money for the food that we didn’t get. The customer service was disgusting. Several of our friends are not fans of Jeera but we thought we would give it a go... NEVER AGAIN. Luckily there four other indian take aways in Romsey so will be sticking with one of them in the future!

Ordered a takeaway from Jeera at 9.30pm, chased at 10.30 and finally arrived 15 minutes later. Missing one main dish so called the restaurant to be told the kitchen had closed and the chef had gone home so nothing could be done. No apology given and no offer of a refund. Starters which were the mixed starter were cold and did not taste fresh. Avoid at all costs, nothing fine about Jeera Fine Indian and plenty of other restaurants in Romsey to choose from.

A great option for families as the ordering services allowed us to order what we needed based on our dietary requirements. The chicken was tasty and the portions were great. A friendly delivery service and we definitely order again.

Avoid! Jeera special fries had no bacon or bbq sauce and they werent fresh - defo reheated in the microwave. Half a chicken in medium peri peri sauce was in lemon and herb sauce instead - dry, also 100% reheated. Mixed kebab - majority of it was burned. It also had one (1) slice of cucumber. Had indian with them before and it was lovely. This was awful. And waited an hour to get it. Sorry Jeera - not impressed!

Well what can I say! This was a nice surprise finally we have a excellent place to eat Indian food in Romsey. As well as good service and some nice wines as well. For the people who say it is expensive, you pay for what...

Easy booking, five in our party, we arrived to a nice welcome. Great menu and the foods when it arrived was really nice. We couldn't fault anything, restaurant was clean and attractive, food great and we had a lovely time.

Was going for a meal with friends however on arrival there were menus all over the pavement which had been there for three days. If there is no pride on the outside what is the inside like. Went else where.

Ordered a takeaway, once opened realised half wasn't what we ordered. Wrong main, and wrong starter. Also we ordered vegetarian samosa and got meat which didn't go down well at all. Emailed direct but no response received.

Had an excellent takeaway from this restaurant, all COVID-19 rules were followed correctly. A great curry, and amazing helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone.

Takeaway delivered, was lukewarm except for the nan bread which was stone cold, onion bahji's were soft as though they'd been reheated in a microwave and the popadum's were black around the edge's.
