Andover Tandoori in Test Valley

One of the best Indian we've ever had. Had a chicken with peanut sauce, so good. A mind blowingly spicy flavourful Lamb dish - but so moreish. Could definitely taste the tamarind and almost imli chutney flavours. The stand out for me and all because of nostalgia is the coconut rice. Definitely reminded me of home -- rice grains separate, fresh finely grated coconut flesh -- couldn't stop eating it as is. Mexican Chicken Tinga was also a nice surprise - slightly salty but all in all better than some of the other Mexican chains that only serve Mexican food. New favourite takeaway!

Loved the last takeaway we had - I asked for no chilli in my saag aloo as I cannot have chilli. This time I requested the same but my request was ignored. Couldn’t eat my dish. So disappointed. You need to listen to customers requests.

Have been ordering here semi regularly for the past few years with my partner. Always had a good experience with them. Food has always arrived well packaged, hot and fresh. Also always tastes great! I do think they are a little expensive though. Almost £20 a person we usually find ourselves spending but we do feel it's worth it. We will continue to order here.

Just ate my takeaway, and just wow! The food was absolutely delicious! Would definitely order from here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a decent Indian takeout!

Order number:0498 for Saturday 25th November 23., costing £25.37p. Advised that it would be delivered at 1900hours (7pm) approximately 45 minute wait, but actually arrived at 2000hours (8pm). And of all the things it was bloody cold and delivered by Diliveroo. This is an appalling experience and if you didn't notice I am thoroughly fed up!

So not really fair to criticise the food as I didn’t actually get as far as ordering it. Stood for a bit waiting, which is fine, guy then came to the counter and asked me what I wanted, as I started speaking he put his hand up and answered the phone and completely ignored me. Ended up going to Sultan which I’ve never tried and it was really nice, so in a way, thank you for your lack of service!

Excellent food, all the dishes we have tried have been delicious. There was an error with our delivery and within 10 minutes of phoning the missed items were delivered. The staff and delivery drivers are very friendly. I would highly recommend.

We had heard great things about this restaurant so thought we would order a Sunday night treat. Order through deliveroo at 21:20, our order was declined at 21:35 due to the restaurant being too busy to accept our order. Unfortunately we won’t order again as it had taken 15 minutes to even be informed that we won’t be receiving our meals.

Tasteless and cold. Very disappointing

Ordered food on-line for delivery at 7.30pm. Hadn't arrived by 7.45pm so tried to ring but got ansaphone. Rang again at 8pm and was told it was out for delivery. Still nothing so tried repeatedly to call but only got message response, at 9pm left message saying if we heard nothng in next 10 mins we would cancel. Heard nothing so sent email cancelling and demanding full refund. After 3 days had not had any communication so phoned yet again and spoke to the manager who arranged the refund. Have used them in the past and enjoyed the food but would not use again after this!

After ordering food totalling £14 my bank was charged over £24 that's nearly 50% for delivery ,no mention of delivery charges on menu ,beware

I complained about how little meat I had very nicely so they said next time their sort me out so next time came and they made a mild curry very spicy and was only 5 bits of meat in my curry so stay clear

ordered from just eat 18.55 i was told it would be delivered and then rang to be told 5 minutes or so 25 mins later rang to be told its just left the shop 20 mins later and food arrived cold!

Great meal tonight for my mums birthday. Had the set menu for 6 of us and they happily change to whatever main you wished which was great. They forgot an item and i cant believe how quickly they delived it especially as it was a 10min drive out of Andover. They even popped in a little cheesecake as a sorry for my mum-great touch. Food was excellent. Highly recommend. Thank you

Quality varies here depending on chef, more hits than misses though. Set meal for 2 is great but quite often an item is forgotten. Last 2 times it has been fantastic with plenty of perfectly cooked lamb in the curry.

We have used Andover Tandoori for a few years now and always enjoyed the food. However more recently on 4 occasions now they have missed items from our order and on return from a 20 mile round trip this is frustrating and inconvenient. I don’t understand how they can make the same reoccurring cock up so frequently. It definitely takes the shine off of having a treat takeaway when you have to start cooking rice when you get home to make up for what they missed off your order! ! I won’t be recommending to friends anymore ☹️

Food was so watery had barely any flavour overall pour quality don't buy.

My husband was disappointed with his Bombay aloo the potatoes still had the skin on them so he has refused to eat it , the other bits where good although the naan bread was a bit burnt but edible

Unfortunately not great. Usually have the chicken shashlik but plumped for the chicken dhansak and biryani. Chicken very chewy and tough. Dhansak as hot as a vindaloo. The naan was good. Will try somewhere else from now on.

Don't order from here. Once they have your mobile number they constantly spam you with texts that you can't block or stop. I sent an email asking to be removed from their text list and still getting bombarded. The food is not worth it

Would not recommend this place at all these days. They used to be great, sending out great quality curries that were really filling. Over the past few months things have really taken a slide. The last three times I’ve ordered from them, the curry has been just. Pot of oil and a few shreds of chicken. Pretty much no actual sauce. I don’t know if they just take a bit of left over sauce from the day before and ‘rehydrate it’ with a boat load of oil and call that a good job or if they are just sending out oil in general. But after the first and second time it arriving like that I thought maybe they had a temp chef in who was doing it wrong. But on the third time of a dopiaza turning up just a pot of oil and chicken I’ve had to resign myself to the fact this place has just gone downhill and are sending out any old tat. Gave them the benefit of the doubt by ordering terrible curries three times but they’ve proven it’s not going to go back to how it was . Learn from my mistakes and don’t order here.

Ordered a chicken jalfrezi and a chicken madras with mushroom rice, 10/10. Delicious, spicy and had big pieces of chicken in both dishes. We’ve always used Andover tandoori and we will continue to do so in the future

Food is ok however the timing they give you on the phone is always 30mins out and not worth the wait.

Terrible asked for a hot vindaloo unfortunately more like a mild madras . Food very greasy samosa tiny full of ail . Will not be returning.

Haven’t ordered a takeaway for a while from Andover Tandoori but decided to treat ourselves a couple days ago!! A bit disappointed in our curry as we couldn’t find the lamb in it ? The sauce was lovely but to be honest we did order a curry with meat in to which there was only 2 small pieces - extremely disappointed as it always use to be excellent potions with plenty of meat!! Might have to try somewhere else now!!

Food is generally of a high standard but can be quite changeable, presumably depending on the chef of the day and what time you order. But despite the "changes" it is usually good to excellent. Delivery tends to be reasonable. At peak times it can be a long wait but this is representative of everywhere in the area. The food tends to be on the spicy side. Even a "mild" curry dish is too spicy for others in my party at times. They need milder choices. I enjoy spicy food so I am personally always satisfied. Best Indian in the area and best prices too. Consistency of food served and spicyness of mild & medium curries needs work but usually a good buy.

By far the worst restaurant in Andover. Took our money and refused to refund after the food was said to be delivered but was not. Also was spoken to like a dog when I asked what was going on. Do not waste your time. Overpriced and care nothing about the customer. Be safe.

We ordered for delivery at 18:16 on a Saturday evening online, received a confirmation email stating that it would be about an hour and a half for delivery. Clearly busy so no problem with that. At 19:40 we called to see how close we were to delivery, after checking, we were assured that there was nothing left to go out and that our order was with the delivery driver. We called again at 20:05, this time to be told that they would speak to the driver and call us back. We received a call back at 20:20 informing us that it would be with us anytime, we did share concerns that it would be cold, we were told if it were cold, to let them know. At 20:40 it arrived, the delivery driver told us she left 10 minutes before, so clearly someone was lying. Initially the food seemed to be hot, however, once we opened it up, it was lukewarm at best, and to be honest, tasteless. There was now no point in trying to contact them so the majority went in the bin. I emailed them the next day explaining our experience and giving an opportunity for them to respond. Almost a week later, and nothing. This was a truly terrible experience, we would advise everyone to stay well clear as there are some really good alternatives in Andover.

This meal has to be one of thee best I've tasted since the early days of of an Indian restaurant at the top of Andover in town. Poppadoms are light, crisp, onion bhajis are just how I remember them, and plenty full. And as my digestion sometimes disagrees from eating such food this is one of the only places where that doesn't happen. I've ordered from here for a little while now and it's always been pretty consistent in taste quantities and quality. Delivery times on just eat have been on time if not earlier on all occasions but one, which I didn't mind as it dose say estimated time.

We tried calling the restaurant several times and it just went to voicemail which we found strange and so placed an order on Just Eat sadly we didn’t take them not answering the phone as a sign to go elsewhere. After placing an order we waited two hours for our food before we phoned the restaurant and asked where the food was they said it wasn’t going to be long and on the way to us. After more than two hours the food was delivered and had items missing so back on the phone to the restaurant and they said they would send the missing items. The food that was missing arrived and sadly the rest of the food was cold. The korma curry was all gloopy and tasted and looked like it was heated in the microwave the naan breads where Cole by the time we could eat them and the poppadoms were all greasy and tasted like they had been cooked in dirty oil. After this experience we will not be using them again. Awful food and poor service!

The food here is very good, I have ordered here a number of times. This evening I have been waiting for nearly two hours for delivery, and nearly 30 mins ago I called and was told it was out for delivery, I live less than ten mins away and it still isn't here. The long wait is disappointing, being lied to is unacceptable.

First order was wonderful didn't take too long to arrive and food was great, after that it took over 2 hours every time and food was delivered cold and when contacting the restraint to find out when and why I was given a snotty response of we're busy and then they would say nothing about the food being cold and also burnt

I ordered Tandoori chicken, garlic naan, Lamb Samosas. The Tandoori chicken tasted and looked like a roast chicken, Garlic naan was weak tasting and poor quality, the lamb samosas was okay. I give this take away 1 star as the lady on the telephone taking my order was very nice it would be no stars otherwise based on food and for the 1st time i threw most of an indian away

Delicious Indian food, friendly polite service, we have ordered many take aways from Andover Tandoori during lockdown. Each time food was delicious with out any fault.My favourite dishes are garlic chicken chill and my wife chicken makhanwala with peshwari naan, dishes are packed full of flavour.Food always delivered promptly by friendly delivery chaps, thank you guys keep up the good work

Food is amazing, there are many Indian take away delivery in Andover but this place is our favourite, very tasty curries and tandoori tikka, good polite service and friendly delivery driver, can't wait to try their chicken rezella next weekend :)

Nice and spicy Bangladeshi Indian curry

We've lived in Andover for six years, but it took Coronavirus to get us to try Andover Tandoori as we usually done in for curry. Slightly lengthy delivery the first time, but food was piping hot and fantastically tasty! That was Saturday and we were so impressed that we ordered again tonight, just 5 days later!The food was great again and this time arrived 30 minutes early!! Yum Yum ...

Third time we've used this takeaw,ay, so time for a review. First couple of times were very good, tonight exceptionally so. Probably the best prawn puri ever. My wife agreed and she isn't keen on prawn curry dishes. Outstanding onion bajiis and am looking forward to the mains tomorrow as the poppadoms and starters...oh and some tandoori chicken were enough. Good value, delivery with a smile and on time.

Took 3 hours to deliver. Never answered phone or email. Not the first time either, though will be the last

Ordered delivery at 7:30 pm last night. They texted/emailed to say it would be ready in 1 hour 20 minutes I.e. at 8:50. I called at 9:15 to ask where it was. I told told that it was out for delivery and would be with us at any time. I called at 9:30 and was told the same thing. I called at 9:50 and was told the same again. Eventually it arrived. Cold and greasy. Maybe it was true that it had been out on delivery for an hour! By this time my daughter just wanted to go to bed.No refund offered, just a discount (unspecified) if I ordered again. Also... seemed pretty expensive. Not happy.

Ordered an evening meal for two to be delivered to Ludgershall, food never arrived, phoned the restaurant and they said driver was out for delivery and shouldn't be long, waited another 20mins (in that time i could have driven to Andover to pick it up!), still no delivery, cancelled order and lady on phone basically said it's our fault for living so far away! Damn cheek if you ask me, won't ever be ordering with them again that's for sure, would give ZERO stars if possible!

Ordered food at 5:30 to be collected for 8pm. Man said system was down so he’d write it down and put it through system later on. Arrived at 8pm and they had no recollection of our order. Seemed to pass the blame around between each other as to who took the order. Never asked us what we had ordered but said our order had gone out on delivery by accident. Turns out this wasn’t our food. Still didn’t ask us what we ordered just rushing around the place trying to find the slip. Got our order for 5 people together again and told them myself what we ordered so they then went to make it fresh, this means we had to wait an extra half an hour. When the man passed it to us finally he told us poppadoms and chutney in the bag to say sorry, they do this for all big orders anyway so we weren’t happy with this. No other discount offered so we had to ask for it which is not something we should of had to do, they should of offered it for the inconvenience and errors made! Also, when we got the food back we were missing a naan bread!! So the discount we asked for wasn’t really much seeing as we were missing an item!!!!

Great place for a curry quick and easy food plus a good mix of currys to choose from

Literally the worst service I have ever received, food still hadn't arrived 2hrs 30 mins after ordering and then after calling and complaining it still hadn't arrived 1 hour and a half after that!!! Tried to call an complain again, no-one answered the phone, highly recommend not using this takeaway as their customer service is shocking, can't comment on food as it never arrived!!!

Have ordered from this takeaway several and have never been let down. Food is always fresh and delicious. Plenty of choice and they are always happy to accommodate any changes. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for an Indian takeaway. Best in town!

Best Indian in Andover by a long mile

Our order started off badly, arrived 30 mins late and that was after the delivery driver had to ring me to find my house, we live on a main road. The food was not tasty and seemed bad quality. We ordered a side of chips which were stone cold. Would not order from here again

The only delicious Indian food in Andover! It’s a shame this isn’t also a restaurant. Very substantial portions, all at a reasonable price. Plenty of choice on the menu, and in my opinion, their recipes are much tastier than the typical offerings in nearby restaurants.

As an Indian food lover I must say that this one is one of the best Indian food I've ever eat!!! Must try. They're that good!!!

Good takeaway food, fast delivery, easy ordering. The portions are also quite big so even though I ordered food for one meal I ended up having it over three!

I'm not going to comment on the quality of the food, but the fact it has become my go-to indian in Andover should say everything that needs to be said about the food itself. My comments will be more about them as a business, and how they handle mistakes. They are usually spot on with their orders but we had a mistake where they missed off an entire meal. This was after we already waited an hour for delivery, which in itself was Ok as we ordered at a busy time on a saturday and they are up front about delivery times. But after waiting an hour it is disappointing for someones meal to be missed out. We called them to inform them about a missed meal, and to their credit they had one out to us within 15minutes, complete with some extra goodies to make up for the mistake. I always say that the quality of a business should be based on how they handle mistakes, and in my opinion Andover Tandoori really does well in this regard. They don't often make mistakes in my experience, and when they do they really do go out of their way to rectify and make sure its good. Absolutely no problems with this place, and in fact the fact we had a mistake with them and how they dealt with it really cemented their place as a great takeaway for us. The fact they have great food goes without saying, but they do look after their customers.

This takeaway is, I think, the best in Andover. The choice is excellent and there are some unusual dishes on the menu, plus a good selection for vegetarians. Biggest problem is what to choose.

On business trip stay in Andover, ordered delivery online, nice menu with good choice, lady on the phone was polite and helpful, food arrived within 30 minutes, it's was the best seafood bhuna I've ever eaten, full of spicy mussels, red mullet fillets, king prawns and king scallops, good portion too! exceptional value, also free papadoms and chutneys, delivery lady was very polite and smartly dressed.Highly recommended!

We happened to try Andover Tandoori by chance as it was recommended by my friends they had alfresco style outdoor catering for their wedding anniversary and the quality of food was top notch! We are regulars to pink olive always as we live very close to Weyhill, the chicken jalfrez was amazing chicken tender and juicy full flavour, Lamb bhujon beautiful hit the spot, best onion Bhaji we ever had, can't wait for this weekend as we have friends visiting and we have planned a feast at home, delivery from Andover Tandoori, the food and service here is highly recommended

Friday night home delivery from Andover Tandoori made our evening, the delivery lady was friendly and polite, our dinner arrived in good time, nice and hot in temperature, best chicken tikka masala I've ever had for years, Lamb Rezella nice lamb so tender and just melts in the mouth, I'm glad we tried Andover now, thank you and we see you next weekend.

I normally order a take away for a Saturday night and Indian food is normally my preferred choice. I have my regular favourites I order from but my son recommended Andover Tandori after having a take away from it himself a few weeks back so I thought I would give it a go. Well I won’t be ordering from my regular Andover Indian Take Aways now I’ve discovered this place. Food delicious, plentiful,good amount of meat (I had chicken) which was tender and good quality. Sauce was tasty (I had Jalfrezi) sag aloo perfect and the delivery was spot on. Said an hour and it was definitely no longer. Delivered with a smile in a good quality bag with no leakage. In fact I have recommended it to an avid Indian eater friend who will also be giving it a go this weekend.

First time we’ve tried here and had no issues at all, ordered a collection was ready when they said it would be. Decent service from start to finish. Big portions and good quality! Would recommend.

I’m hooked on this take away and Indian food in general. In my opinion there is no better place to get take away in Andover and the surrounding area. I always ring through my order and collect. There has never been a problem with my order and the food is always excellent. My favourite dish is Lamb Bujhon, great quality meat and nicely spiced, plenty of heat and flavour. I’ve had at least 10 separates visits here and have never been disappointed. 10/10

We have just bought a discount card to use at this and another Indian restaurant in Andover. We have never used the Andover Tandoori before but definitely will be again! It was a Friday night so when I ordered I was told it would be an hour for delivery. Exactly an hour later our food was delivered. So good, much better than out usual one. Absolutely loved it!

Love Andover Tandoori, but the last two orders have not been up to their normal standard. The last order was over 90 minutes late for delivery, and tonight every dish was way too overspiced - I love hot food, but not like tonight's offering. Hopefully only because the holiday season has overstretched them

Visited as I was in town and wanted a curry to take home. I’ve had a few recommendations for Andover Tandoori and they were not wrong. I had a chicken tikka starter, great quality meat nicely cooked. A decent lamb pathia curry with rice followed. The food was excellent, nicely spiced and very tasty. I would recommend and will return.

Absolutely horrendous service. Went through the just eat app and waited over an hour and a half for food to be delivered. Telephoned the restaurant on 3 occasions and was told the food was on the way. On the 4th occasion when we called for an update, we were informed the delivery driver hadn’t turned up and there was no way the food would be delivered. Not even a courtesy call.

Ordered through Just Eat. A really first class freshly cooked meal. The charge is a little higher, but we were pleased it was because the food was worth every penny. Bt far the best curry we have had for a long time ........

Good sized portions and polite staff on the counter. Food qual ity is good but varies if normal chef is on day off.

This used to be the best Indian takeaway in Andover. But recently it has really gone down hill. All dishes are swimming in oil , its not good when you have to tip the first half inch of you meal in the bin because its oil. We used to order from here every week but now will not sadly will not be returning.

I difficult place to find with no parking but the service and food were good and would certainly call again.

Excellent food and really friendly service

After an afternoon in the pub, we needed a delivery to a village outside of Andover. The dinner turned up within an hour, my lamb curry was delicious, the rice, and naan good. Our Tikka starters were also very good. The meal came with some papadums. Delivery was £6, but worth it. Would definitely use a again.

Ordered tikka masala, got mixture of korma and tikka masala. Not impressed.
