Went in this cafe for breakfast.Told there was a half an hour wait. When the breakfast came out most of it was cold. It's a nice location and with a complete face-lift,which includes new staff could do quite well.

Surly lone staff member with major attitude issues. No customer service skills whatsoever and outrageously expensive. Will never go again and cannot recommend. Treated with indifference, not even a greeting or farewell. Only one star because the food (crab sandwich) was tasty otherwise I wouldn't rate this place at all.

Guess we caught them at the wrong time, just before they closed, hence not that accommodating and the coffee was awful.

Great setting just by the harbour. Fresh crab sandwiches and toasties with more variery on the menu. Great place to drop in if you are walking in the area. Good value for money and seemed to be used equally by locals and visitors

They’d sold out of their local crab sandwiches but we still enjoyed our toasties & tea. Lovely friendly people and much amused at being given a free shower when a guy rolled back the sun blind. Lots of locals popping in too, probably because it’s half the price of The Hideaway where we ate yesterday. Great setting next to the Fishing Tackle shop and just by the harbour with all its boats, nets and lobster pots.

Stopped off here with the family today as wanted to look at the harbour. Discovered quite an extensive menu so had chips, cheesy chips with tea and coffee then seeing another customers order decided to get two bacon and egg baps cooked exactly how we like them with crispy bacon, no fat or rind and egg flipped over but just soft enough in the middle. Delicious! Very cheerful and friendly staff and nice atmosphere - unpretentious and good value.

This hidden gem is in a beautiful location. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Friendly service with a tackle shop selling good quality fishing gear and crab lines and buckets for the kids. Really impressed. Doesn't rip holiday makers off like some places! Also dog friendly.

Our main purpose was to visit the fishing tackle shop next door but we stayed for a cup of tea and to sit and read. Friendly people and a good cup of tea at a good old fashioned price.

Meals on menu were with chips - no chips (eventually they got a delivery after we waited). Got better - no bread for sandwiches, just baps. Offered panini - wait , no bread for the panini and abrupt attitude to my son who asked quite politely. Fish is processed deep fried, plastic-like batter. Not impressed...hope they learn as location is lovely, would have preferred to travel into Lyme Regis for proper food.

Great value (e.g. Mug of tea 80p) snack bar by the small fishing harbour on the river Axe. Slight aroma of the crab pots when the wind is in the wrong direction, but lovely outdoor seating and well frequented by locals, fishermen included! Great choice of salads, jackets, sandwiches and fried food. We saw most dishes go out and all looked good. All are also great value. We had a bacon & egg bap (£3.50) and a bacon & mushroom bap (£3.00). Both freshly made, hot, large and well filled. Plenty of sauces etc free to use too. The tomato sauce was a little vinegary, but on a par with other 'transport cafes'. We'll definitely be back. An honest backstreet cafe on the river.

Lovely little establishment. Situated in a courtyard, adjacent to a fishing tackle shop. Nothing fancy on the menu. Friendly lady, good knowledge of the area. Bonus is that there is 30 minutes free parking right outside the cafe.

Tucked away on Seaton harbour quay, Jeans Tea Caddy is ideal for a quick drink before or after a walk along the beach, the food on offer is unpretentious cafe grub - breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches type of stuff, all prepared freshly to order.

Nothing special about the cafe food, but a decent mug of tea, and its an ideal spot for a rest on your walk.

Set in a lovely position by the side of the harbour at Axmouth and on a sunny day a lovely spot. Not a traditional cafe with 4 walls, but more open air with a roof!

Little shack like café right by the side of Axmouth Harbour. Great on a sunny day. Plenty of outside seating overlooking the harbour and watching the boats come and go.

Lovely meal at the Grove - friendly staff and great service. Hubby raved about his sausages with bubble and squeak and I enjoyed one of the daily specials - thinly sliced smoked gammon with St Ewe’s free range eggs. We were too full to try one of their scrummy sounding desserts. Lovely range of summer spritz drinks with an impressive number of alcohol free choices too.

We dropped in on the off chance based on the reviews that we’d read. I had tried to call to book a table but got no reply from either number. We didn’t feel at all welcome when we did drop in and didn’t bother staying for food. Won’t be visiting again.

Beautiful honest gem of a restaurant. We were passing and could see that this was the perfect place for something special. So on our first chance to have a night to ourselves we made a beeline to see the owner Chris to see what ingredients he has sourced that day and what he is creating with it and of course make our booking. His word is the menu. Fresh, honest…. & simple. On sitting that night, we were presented with a homemade steaming hot cob loaf with salted butter and a recommended bottle of wine by his wife. Soon to follow was a stater of simply cooked scallops, which were delicious. We then shared plates of freshly made squid ink spaghetti with prawns and slow cooked breast of lamb with bulgar wheat. We finished the night with a very well curated selection of cheeses with simple rosemary biscuits. It was all fabulous. Chris and his wife were very welcoming, helpful and created an amazing unique experience. We will definitely, definitely visit this gem again on our return. Thank you both.
