This cafe is a small slice of perfection, hidden away on a quiet suburban York street. I can't think of enough good things to say about this place, but here are a few: the service is warm and friendly; the food is freshly made to order and delicious (the homemade lemon cake is not to be missed!); the cappuccinos are fantastic (and my son enjoyed the Yorkshire tea); the overall vibe of the place is just lovely - unpretentious, relaxed and comfortable. We visited three times during our short stay in the area, and we can't wait to return the next time we are in York.

Stumbled across this during a school run, the sign before the door struck me as I love coffee! Such a cosy place and would definitely come back again.

I almost don't want to share it as it's the best cafe! It's reasonably priced, child friendly, the staff are helpful and friendly and there are lots of food options and drinks to choose from!

Known the owner since I was a young lad, such a role model to me. My partner and I visited, we loved the cakes! Hope this place keeps doing well for many more years to come.

Visited here today 01/04/2022 I found it a little pricey £3.25 for a small tuna and cucumber sandwich. Had no taste if I’m honest. Was going to get a packet of crisps too but £1.60 for a 60g bag is way over price. I noticed £2.20 for a small slice of brownie. I think you either need to change your suppliers so you get a decent deal on products so your not putting that expense on customers. Or look at your prices and bring them down to what customers are getting because each sandwich bun was £3.25 it didn’t matter what filling you was getting. Ending on a positive the gentleman who served me was very welcoming and polite.

Stumbled across this cafe working in the local area and was delighted. Coffee was good, the baguettes were freshly made on site and both were well packed. Everything seems to be made fresh!

Lovely place to visit. We are always greeted by friendly staff who are very accommodating for people of all ages. My 1 year old son is super happy to be there and he is regularly spoken to and given a metallic bowl and spoon to play with (because that's what makes him happy) as well as other things. Both of us enjoy the food there- delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

I was gutted Sunday Morning when it wasn't open because I was so looking forward to going back. The sandwich and the home made carrot cake I had was delicious but the staff were so lovely. Such a nice place. If I lived near here I'd be there all the time.

Really tasty food at a great price, but what sets Java apart is the fantastic service from Will. Made us feel so welcome and he's happy to talk to his customers. Have been several times and will gladly continue to support such a great local business.

The owner (Will) is one of the friendliest person I have ever met, the food is amazing! I remember when it was the newsagents and Will was always in and helping us. I really recommend going there!

Visited York for the day for some training with work. This seemed to be the local sandwich shop which had a good variety of options. Chicken, beef and Veg. Doubles up as a cafe. Staff were friendly and i enjoyed my steamed chicken and salad sandwich. Thanks 😊

Really quite a nice little place. Staff are very friendly and the wide selection of fillings for sandwiches, baguets or wraps should meet most people's wants. Both sit in or take away.

My husband and I went for a quick lunch. The food has always been good here so makes perfect sense to make it a cafe. The owner and his staff are really friendly and helpful. My husband ordered a Coronation chicken baguette and I had a toasted panini. Lots of filling and lots of flavour. Delicious. Would be great for a quiet cuppa whilst working as they have free Wifi too.

Great little hidden gem. Lovely friendly staff. My bacon bap was delicious. The free pastry offer on a Saturday was a great surprise. See you again soon.

Lovely new decor. A great range of food options to eat in or takeaway at good prices. Fabulous service. I had a crispy bacon baguette which was lovely but I look forward to trying more on there menu.

Such a cute little coffee shop, so glad it's opened. Only 2 minutes around the corner and a hidden little gem. The owner is always kind and chatters to my little girl. Lots of toys for toddlers/pre-school kids to choose from too!
