Super cute coffee shop with a cosy seating area overlooking Keswick's main street. They have a good selection of beverages and sweet baked goods, of which all looked absolutely mouth-watering! The Biscoff brownie was to die for and the Snickers blondie is also a dream for anyone with a sweet tooth. The pumpkin spice latte was a must for me at this time of year and didn't disappoint with its generous topping of whipped cream and Biscoff crumbs. Incredibly friendly staff too, would def recommend!

Honestly the best mocha I've ever had. Was looking for a coffee stop and with soo many around I didn't know where to turn. Saw the Java seating area right outside moot hall and chose that. One of best mochas in the area. In search for the best mocha in towns/cities and in villages around the uk that I travel around, this was my best mocha in keswick so far. Half coffee, half hot chocolate ratio was perfect with thick milk and a bit of chocolate syrup on top. The staff weren’t that friendly though, which let it down on my review. Quite pricy compared to the best mocha I’ve ever had in Warminster!

Cannot complain about the food or drinks on offer, was a welcome treat! However the service behind the counter made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than customers, including noticeable huffs when ordering. Thought maybe a bad day so tried again the day after and experienced the staff openly bad mouthing customers within our ear shot. It was crowded downstairs so the sign asking to wait to be seating was not visible to all. Instead of apologising to those waiting for the table they instead insulted potential customers with repeated moans that they just walked in. Found somewhere else for our treat as once again customers were an inconvenience for the staff.

Found good ratings. Great ambience with eye catching posters, quotes and interior designs. We ordered mocha machiato, mocha and raspberry & pistachio tart. The tart didn't bring out the flavours of raspberry or pistachio; though it looked yummy, it had plain-blunt taste. Both the drinks were sugary and watery. Overall, they tasted okayish. Hop in for a quick bite before you visit the lake.

Popped into Java at the weekend. It’s the best coffee shop in Keswick, offering an array of drinks and the most amazing chocolate fountain! Ordered my coffee and sat whilst the barista made my drink. I’m assuming she was the owner, as she then was asking other staff how long one member of staff had been on their lunch… said member of staff arrived. To which this woman started a very stern conversation right infront of my eyes about how her 30 minute lunch “felt a lot longer!” I sat in total disbelief. Java is a really cosy cafe, you can hear any conversation, I couldn’t believe that anyone would have the brass to speak to a member of staff in that manner infant of customer and also staff. This is a conversation for a meeting room out of sign from customers. It made my visit really awkward and frankly I was so shocked, I couldn’t speak. HR, customer service and general manners need some serious work. Such a shame, I used to visit Java back when I went to Keswick school land we all loved it. Such a saddening experience, as the girl looked so disheartened by her manager.

Lovely coffee shop located in the heart of Keswick - we stopped by for a little break with the dog. The cafe itself is a nicely presented coffee house vibe of coziness and an authentic feel. Unfortunately, I think we ordered the wrong thing as neither of us enjoyed our drinks. I ordered a chocolate orange hot chocolate and my partner ordered the honeycomb hot chocolate. They were very sickly and covered in a mountain of whipped cream. I didn't know mine came with cream as I wasn't asked if I wanted it or not. When my drink arrived, covered in cream, chocolates, and sauce, I asked the staff member if the toppings were gluten free as I am Coeliac. The chocolate sauce comes from their chocolate fountain which they use to dunk in croissants! Luckily they mentioned this before I tucked in, and removed all of the cream. I should've mentioned I was GF upon ordering but they could've asked if I wanted cream, chocolate etc.. Good coffee shop, it was around £9 for the two drinks.

Really nice selection of drinks and great tasting cakes. I had the biscoff milkshake, it wasn’t very clear the difference between the milkshake and frappe as every cafe makes frappes different. The presentation was great but the milk was warm and tasted like it sat out the fridge for a while. Milkshakes are meant to be quite cold and this one wasn’t however the taste was great and they used authentic syrup etc.

Coffee was ok, but frankly over priced. Took our order and told us to go sit upstairs but no seats available, and we ended up on bar stools in the public area downstairs. One girl was sitting on a full table there gossiping with the staff and that left us perched on a tiny tall bar stool table which was frankly a struggle at our ages. Shame. Next time warn people - we'd rather have waited for a seat than sit on those uncomfortable metal things. I always try and use independents rather than Costa and the like. Won't use this one again.

Coffee is on par with the rest of Keswick however it isn't good coffee if you compare it to London, Manchester, Bristol etc. Good selection of alternative flavoured cakes (not just a standard victoria sponge!). My family and I come here a lot when we are in the lakes. It's such a friendly little local cafe that offers a lot of variety and options for all ages. My sister loves the strawberry and marshmallow sticks with chocolate and you can't blame her - the chocolate is warm, the strawberries are fresh. The coffee is just incredible and such a reasonable price too! I'd say on par with Starbucks or similar and it's a fraction of the price! The staff are friendly and so helpful if any substitutions want to be made like specific milks or syrups that you want to add. The only thing is there isn't much seating available so it can be hard to get a seat - that said you can take anything on the menu home no problem and enjoy it walking through Keswick!

Main courses were delicious, the only big let down were the deserts, Nutella sundae with whipped cream, it isn't a sundae without ice-cream and sticky toffee pudding with whipped cream, when stated on menu vanilla ice-cream , with no discount because of alternative, should of came out to say they had run out of ice-cream
