Absolutley incredible place! DO NOT MISS. This tiny shop can be so easily overlooked, but this is a treasure not to be missed. Jann and her husband run the shop and make everything themselves from organic ingredients. From the outside you see the sign for organic cakes, but as you go inside prepare for a feast for the eyes! On the left is a whole counter of delicate hand made chocolates, and the Sc most incredible sea salted fudge - the delicate artistry of the handmade chocolates is stunning! On the right is a counter with the most delectable, enormous cakes including chocolate fudge, lemon curd and raspberry, caramel cheesecake to name but a few! We tried the lemon curd Bakewell with home made blueberry sauce. Then to top it off, we checked the board out for specials and it offers bangers and mash, haggis neets and tatties, and Jamaican curried goat and fish curry. At this point with such an eclectic mix, I ask who is Jann? And from the kitchen appears the most beautiful Jamaican lady, softly spoken with an incredible humility and an infectious smile. She tells us that she hand picks the goat that she uses in her dishes, from a local farm. And makes everything in the shop with her husband! Amazing!!! Therefore, we cancelled our Michelin star meal we had booked that evening and opted forJann‘s traditional curried goat and fish curry. Followed by her delicious cakes, and then an incredible handmade chocolate and a bit of fudge. Having just finished it we feel so blessed to have stumbled upon this place. This was the most incredible Jamaican food we have ever tasted, and coming from London, we’ve tried a lot. Jann and her lovely husband were amazing and took the time to look after us. The cakes are so good, and they’re all organic, it is so hard to even choose. You absolutely have to try this place.

A surprising find in Dunvegan. Great options for lunch and very different to what we were expecting to find. We had the roast chicken soup and the haggis, neeps and tatties with whiskey sauce. The soup came with fresh bread and was very well seasoned with big chunks of chicken. My husband really enjoyed the haggis. The cakes looked amazing but we were eating out later so just tried a couple of pieces of the fudge - both delicious. There is a bit of a wait for food but this is because it is all home made.

Thank you so much for doing gluten free AND dairy free cake! I had the rocky road style biscuit cake and it was delicious and a very generously sized slice! A lovely variety of gorgeous cakes, chocolate and fudge and very friendly staff. I must say after ordering I was very shocked at the prices of everything though. £20 for two slices of cake and a meringue is a lot of money.

I’m sure when you visit Skye in November you risk not seeing it at it’s best. Today it was windy and wet. When it rained heavily it was ghastly. Nevertheless we toured about. The unfriendly Talisker Distillery was bearable but the complete lack of open cafes wasn’t. Yesterday we toured the north of Skye. Nothing was open. So finding Jenn’s open for business was a welcome treat. The soup, sandwiches and Ecclefechan tart were all spot on, as was the coffee. Bought a few chocolates as well. It is great to see cafes like this prepared to stay open to serve visitors and they need our support. Strongly recommend.

There was a short line of people when I arrived but it was worth the 10 minute wait and it's obvious why this little shop is popular! 2 counters of cakes and a menu of delicious hot drinks and food made it difficult to narrow down my choice. Shopping for 2 I opted for lemon meringue pie, salted caramel chocolate cake, a baileys truffle and Skye sea salt fudge which were all scrumptious! The staff were lovely and didn't rush me either. If we didn't already have dinner plans I would have been tempted by the carribean curry's on offer which sounded excellent.Jann's was a tasty treat worth the price for the hard work which clearly goes in to making their food.

People reviews say it is expensive and not worth it. I do agree that it is expensive but if you get a professional level cakes and delicious hot food or even frozen one on the same one if you want to eat it later ( I have bought frozen as I drove 5 hours from Dunvegan). I stood in the queue for 20 mins (This shows how busy they are and why people like them) and got my food served with wonderful hospitality.I strongly recommend Jann's place for people who love delicious food and don't mind pay a little more then I would strongly recommend Jann's cakes!

I only stopped for a couple of sandwiches and a slice or two of cake. The sandwiches, though expensive (£8 a round) were excellent. The cakes were another matter altogether. The display looked so tempting ... a treat for the eye. It was difficult to decide, everything looked sooo good. Appearances can be so deceptive! I bought 2 slices of banoffee pie and one of “Bakewell” tart (you will understand the inverted commas later). The banoffee tart was very bland - good banana flavour but no sign of toffee, and the addition of some chocolate-coloured (but distinctly un-chocolatey tasting) topping definitely did not add anything. The pastry was soggy and the whole, huge portion, tasted as though it had been sitting on display overnight at the very least. Ditto the “Bakewell tart”. Apart from a pleasant sprinkling of almonds on top, the frangipane has no almond taste at all. Little was resemblance to any Bakewell tart of my acquaintance. All told, 2 rounds of sandwiches and 3 slices of cake - a whopping £33 !! Once bitten, twice shy .... don’t be taken in by the pretty display, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

The smoked haddock chowder was simply brilliant, and the cake and chocolate selection was fantastic. Everything was homemade, and the foods organic and either local or fairtrade. The prices reflected this. The only downside was that there were only 3 tables, which could fit about 7 people in total. We got lucky the first time, but when we tried to go for a second visit there was no room. We got some cake to take away instead. Parking was at the free public car park about a minute walk away.

We would have happily spent £7 each on a great organic sandwich, but we were unfortunately disappointed. Because it was good weather and the place was slightly crammed we decided to take the sandwich out. Much to our dismay, the sandwiches came packed in polystyrene, the worst kind of non-recyclable plastic there is (trust me I've learned my lesson, bringing my own tubs anywhere from now on). The sandwich, though tasty, was not much more than what you can easily make at home. Otherwise a cute place and friendly staff, hopefully they'd reconsider their take away material.

However, a microwave soon sounded and when I received my otherwise tasty soup it was neuked, and there was an icy part in it. Not one to complain and as it was good soup (and we were ravenous) I ate it. Our two glasses of tap water, a curry and a neuked soup came to £24! Won't be back as the prices are just far too high for what was delivered.

Cakes were ok, truffles good. A tray bake or brownie was £5.50, they were big, but no option to have a 1 person portion. £4 for a large cappuccino, most expensive coffee I’ve ever bought.

I purchased a takeaway chicken curry for £15, and some caramel truffles for £6 each. I expected the curry to feed at least 2 people, and be extra special, considering the price! But unfortunately it was just a very average curry no better than one from a jar. The caramel truffles were very nice, but ridiculously over priced!

We visited Jann’s cakes twice. Once for a much needed coffee stop on a freezing day, and we returned again for lunch.

Passing by we popped in for a coffee and a piece of cake. It was fantastic. What a range. I see loads of people complaining about the prices but for £5 my slice of rocky roads was huge. Funny that possibly those same folks would quite happily spend £5 on a cake bought in a large city but something homemade in not the most accessible location and suddenly it’s expensive!

Popped into here on our Christmas interlude trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners (I guessed) were lovely, welcoming and accommodating given the space, and the food and the service were great. The West Indian influence is evident and the food is superb. I can see that others have commented on price but as a small business owner I know how hard and unrewarding it can be sometimes, so as long as everything else is good I’m truly not bothered. Well done folks!

We visited here with the family, sat down and ordered a coffee each with soup and a cake. To be honest I didn’t look at the prices which was my fault. When the bill came for 4 of us I nearly died. Way over the top pricing and it is just shear greed. Thus could be a great place to visit, but like all other reviews it is deemed as too expensive. I would give this place a miss and go elsewhere. The feeling of being ripped off supersedes the pleasantry of having some lunch.

Lovely if tiny coffee/cake shop. Portions may seem expensive but they are very generous and 1 piece of cake etc between 2 would be ideal. My coffee was strong and my ham sandwich freshly made and very enjoyable. Beautiful hand made chocolates etc.

I guess the amount of work that goes into providing great looking cakes does justify the prices, but the bill did come as a bit of a shock.

We came across this little place by accident, there were 4 of us and we got soups and sandwiches.......the soup was OK and sandwiches were OK but nothing out of this world......cakes looked nice together with the sweets but because of the cost we didn't try any and didn't get any drinks either!!!!

Amazing cakes and confectionery. Jann's also prepare frozen ready meals, particularly curries, and the West Indian Goat Curry was hot, tasty, and although expensive, worth it!

We stopped as the cakes had looked amazing through the window the day before! Served quickly (but order taken wrongly) and soup was good, the rest quite disappointing. Charged over £25 for two hot drinks, 2 soups and a cheese toastie. Toastie should have been a sandwich and I could have made better with my eyes shut!! Am normally one to find the best in things but there is better else where even on somewhere as small as Skye

We came across this small shop by chance when driving across Isle of Skye to the Dunvegan Castle. We were pleasantly surprised at the range and quality of food on offer both hot and cold. But the crowning glory are the many cakes and sweets on offer. Everything our group tried was delicious and the owner will provide frozen meals to take back to your holiday accommodation. This is a great place to stop for a cup of tea and a cake but please note the premises are very small. Ideally sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and the even fresher cakes.

We have seen this shop many times whilst on the Isle of Skye but never had time to stop by. They don’t take cards, so you have to go to the ATM in the store which charges for cash.

We moved to this B &B after a bad experience with another local hotel ( it was filthy) . The Cubhouse is super clean with nice updates throughout!! Breakfast was delicious and the staff was super accommodating!! Very happy we found this place!

Very unpleasant stay. It is understandable to treat the customer poorly since there are only two restaurants in the town and that the tourists would not return anyway. However, how little care was given to the customer as a house of hospitality. For every dish, our plates were taken away before we have finished. We were rushed to make decisions and to pay the seconds the plates were taken away. 5min after we paid the bill we were asked to leave and stay in the lobby. The food is reasonable and the restaurant would be well suited for ones who had a tight schedule and need to dash straight after the meal.

Really good place, with very nice food - and they are good with food allergies. They have separate menus for gluten free and vegan. Another bonus - they are dog friendly.

Great little coffee shop with so many goodies to try. Lovely lady served us and chatted about the bakery. She made a couple of new friends who were more than happy to sample the sausages.
