Another delicious meal tonight.The chicken madras was as lovely as ever.The staff are amazing and really welcoming.Busy on a Thursday night which says it all .Will be returning very soon.👌

If you are going out for a meal locally, this it THE place to go, the staff are so kind and considerate, if you are a regular they treat you like family. They are always welcoming, polite and quick to help. The food is excellent, I cycle between a couple of favourites, but never afraid to try something new as always know it will be a tasty treat. One of the main things for me if that when the dishes come out, they are never swimming in fat, which is a huge turn off for me, these always come out looking appetising and smelling amazing. This place is definitely worth a try, they cater for all spice levels.

Visited on a Monday night looking for a quiet and convenient dinner. Located in a listed building the owners have created a characterful dining area. Choice was excellent, service attentive, quality unexpected for the out-of-the way location in a quiet village. I would absolutely eat there again next time I am in the area - looking forward to it!

Really enjoyed my curry but the Bombay potatoes arrived cold and the portion of rice is small. Service is very straight to the point, needed some music as it was dead silent in there.

First time we have been to the The Jannah and would definitely go back. Food was absolutely amazing staff were so friendly. My grandson knocked is drink over it went everywhere. They were so kind and without any fuss cleaned and changed all our table. Will definitely go back.

First visit to Jannah and absolutely delighted. From start to finish the evening was superb. Warm welcome then lovely poppadoms with a selection of dips. Poppadoms were crisp and not at all greasy. I chose a dish I’d never had before, chicken sunam which was delicious, chicken breast stuffed with spicy minced lamb. Definitely would have that again. All in all a lovely evening.

Another lovely evening with the exceptional food, kind, helpful and friendly staff. There is always a wonderful welcome, like greeting old friends, they are happy to change dishes to suit your preferences and explain things to you. We are lucky to have them locally but I'd travel to come here for sure!

Had a sit in meal for three, main courses arrived but duck was delivered instead of chicken so had to be replaced. Requested the bill and a number of items had magically increased eg £9.95 became £12.95, £2.95 became £3.95. When I questioned this, I was told it was due to increased prices which I was unhappy about as we'd not been told about the price increases when ordering, it felt like they were trying to recover the cost of the duck meal that they'd made the mistake on. Decided not to leave a tip to offset the increased bill but thinking back I should have refused the bill.

Excellent food, best Indian restaurant i have been to in the area for a long time. All dishes came hot, nice size portions and competitively priced. Good customer service too.

We had a delicious meal at Jannah. Not only was the food fantastic the staff were attentive and very accommodating. They put together a dish for my husband which he loved. We are already planning a return visit 😋

The food was absolutely outstanding, I particularly enjoyed the chicken tikka masala. The restaurant had a very family feel to it, the staff were very accommodating and made sure we always had enough drinks etc, whilst also being Covid-19 compliant. I would definitely return to Jannah!

Never again will I go to this place! Full of rude staff with highly inappropriate behaviour! Staff have a poor grasp of English and tried to con us with hidden 'extras' on the final bill! Poorly made food and old fashioned decor inside! Avoid and go somewhere else! Disgusting! Please don't believe the positive reviews!

Excellent little find when staying at a B&B nearby. Had some lovely starters of mixed kebab and butterfly prawn. Then had a couple of specials which, although tehy are more expensive were really good size portions. Well worth a visit. Lovely service as well.

I would advise you all to save your money and go anywhere but here! Brought the hubby here after looking for somewhere to eat but wish we had gone to a pub serving Indian, coz that would of been better! The staff don't give a cr*p about customers and make you wait ages before they come to you. The food was old, mouldy and tasteless. I asked for the manager or owner to complain but he could barely speak English! They even tried to scam us on drinks and said we had more drinks that we did, when we only had ONE drink each!! Wish we hadn't wasted our money here! If you do go here, expect to be in the toilet after coz the food was awful! Make sure you check your bill properly coz they try to overcharge and try to charge for drinks you never had!! Best advice, avoid this place! Don't believe the positive reviews, they pay people to write those!

My title says it all I think! Took the family down for a meal and was shocked at the rudeness of staff and the poor quality food! Staff were talking on their personal phones and didn't care about waiting customers! After eventualy managing to order our food, we were even more disappointed with the poor quality of it! You'll get better food from the supermarket! Asked if the food was halal, as we wanted the opton of non halal but did not get it! Non-muslims should not be forced to eat halal food!! As we were leaving, we noticed a mouse running around the place! Disgusted and almost vomited in my mouth!! Reported it to the staff but they didn't care and just laughed! I've used this place for a takeaway/delivery once and was not happy. Gave it a second chance with an eat-in experience this time round but mate, was totally horrified and disgusted by this place! Avoid this place at all costs! Reported them to environmental health and trading standards! Avoid, avoid, avoid! :-(

Only had takeaway as we had dog with us, phoned order in from local pub , we were given a collection time and it was ready as told, only negative was there was 4 of us and we all ordered something we had never had before , and there was no names on cartons we didn't know who's was who it was fun trying them all, so tasty and flaversome

This restaurant is by far the best of its kind in the area. Service and food is always first class. Staff are without exception attentive and polite but in a normal way without all the pushy stuff. I recommend it highly.

I’ve visited the Jannah a number of times over the last year. Great service and great vegan options.

When visiting friends in Gamlingay we were taken to the Jannah for dinner. My partner and I agree it is one of the best Indian meals we have ever eaten and we have had a few. We all enjoyed our food, however one of our party ordered the Chicken Sunam and couldn't finish it as the portion was large, this resulted in us all trying some of it and it was superb. Not a scrap of food was left at all. I would love to go again but sadly live in another part of the country. Go if you get the chance.

Been coming here since it opened, years ago. Great food, friendly welcome and service. A real asset to the village, as it means that we can go out and enjoy a great Indian meal without needing a designated driver.

We arrived without a booking, so my friend and I were delighted to be seated very quickly in the rear of the restaurant. We were swiftly served the food of our choice. I would really would have loved to have seen more vegetarian options on the menu (I chose their very tasty vegetarian biryani), but I was fine with my choice. Equally, I wonder if they have ventured into vegan territories yet? Be good to know if they might have verified entirely dairy free food. I did not ask, so I will not suppose anything and therefore cannot say they don't do these options. I managed to totally spill my red wine over the table cloth, my friend said for them not to change the entire table cloth - but I admit, I would have thought that important for health and safety. Instead, a couple of fresh napkins covered the damage and I was quickly furnished with a new glass of wine. Once more, cannot argue (my lovely friend decided clearly she didn't want the hassle of moving our dishes after my cack-handed accident with the wine - and I hadn't even drunk much of it!). The staff were so charming - busy as anything - but charming none the less. Food, extremely tasty. I would love to see some puris on the menu and some different deserts to the stock ice creams (lovely though they looked). Thank you to the restaurant though for so kindly accommodating us at the last minute when a big party was on. It is no mean trick to cook for a party as big as that AND still have foot fall custom in whilst providing an excellent service to all!

Must admit never eaten in this restaurant but very regularly get take aways from here. Excellent value for money, food always piping hot, true to menu description re heat etc and ready at the agreed collection time. What’s not to like? Lucky to have such a good restaurant in the village, there are always plenty of folks eating in whenever we go to collect.

I never know what to expect in an Indian restaurant being unfamiliar with this style of cuisine. So I chose a prawn special and it was delicious. Not too hot and spicy.

First order (takeaway), staff were friendly and polite. Delivery arrived in good time and hot. Most importantly the food tasted absolutely delicious.

I have visited here many times and this time was there for a catch up with friends in the New Year. As it was mid-week we hadn't booked but were quickly seated upon arrival (only 4 of us). The staff are always welcoming and friendly and we were soon enjoying poppadoms, dips and drinks. We all opted for different main courses and di nto have to wait long for them to be prepared. I had a biryani which was delicious and is very filling, with my favourite peshwari naan bread. Everyone was more than pleased with their meals. As is customary we received hot towels, chocolates and roses before leaving. The staff help you with your coats and escort you to the door. Another great evening with excellent food. I have had takeaways from here too and the wait time is very reasonable and the food always very good. The only thing I will say is that when they are very busy and you are in a larger party service can be much slower but the quality of the food is still the same.

My first time here. We got a warm welcome from the staff. Food was fairly standard, but was good. The menu was quiet big with lots of different dishes. The food came quickly and was very nice. There were a few little home made touches that made it extra nice. The Tarka Dal had nice mustard seeds and coriander, my partners food was very nice and had a home cooked look about it which I like. Some Indian restaurants can be very generic. My sizzle platter was huge, good value, my other half ate a lot of it as it was too much for me. The Motor Paneer was fab, best I've had! It was good value too. Will go again.

This was a booked occasion for several friends. The service was friendly, as usual, but a little slower than I have come to expect. The dishes were well presented with rather smart vegetable decoration, but each sauce seemed to be the same colour, and there were very few pieces of meat in at least 2 of the dishes (a biryani and a sozanu). The dishes looked so similar that a waiter managed to confuse a chicken and a seafood dish. I hope that the Jannah has not employed a less useful chef, or that any other deleterious changes have taken place. I'll wait for good reports again before returning.

Everyone coming in was treated like an old friend and it was obvious that they were. A loyal customer base is always indiative of a potential good restaurant. I was more than satisfied with my meal which was served differently to anything I have ever experienced in an Asian restaurant previously. The food was very good and first impressions did not let me down. I thought the cutlery was more designed for small hands than for adults but on reflection it meant I ate at a more healthier pace for the digestion.

After several trips back to "our village" we finally got to eat with the family, including our French daughter in law, at the Jannah Indian Restaurant. There was a very warm welcome when we arrived, we were shown to a table and immediately asked if we would like something to drink. Drinks were served with poppadoms which was a pleasant surprise. They advised our daughter-in-law, who was a novice to Indian cuisine, on the best choice of meal, and she absolutely adored it, they even spoke French with her!! Upon leaving me and my daughter in law were both given a beautiful red rose. The overall experience was excellence itself and we will definately visit again when we are over. It doesn't matter what day we visit or how many people are in the restaurant, the restaurant continues to provide excellent Indian cuisine in a warm and welcoming restaurant. The food is fresh and well presented and excellent value for money - two starters, two mains, two rice, 2 beers and 2 wines - £45.

An excellent menu to chose from and friendly and helpful service from the moment we were welcomed and shown to our table. The food was of top quality in particular the lamb was deliciously tender and the chicken also. Both dishes very tasty with spices and curry. Attentive and friendly service in a well set out area which had a good ambience and was pretty busy for a Sunday evening. My companion couldn't finish her main course and the staff were happy to avoid waste and made up a doggy bag for home consumption. So all in all a very good experience and we would recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed.

I'm not sure if they deliver, but eating in & take away are highly recommended.This restaurant is always packed on Friday & Saturday night, I've never seen an empty table. We had a pretty good curry here, service was fine. It wasn't overly memorable, but equally did nothing wrong. Cost was standard. Rose for the lady was a nice touch as we left.

Really like this restaurant and as frequent visitors to India we do tend to compare the currys in India to England. This is the best one I've had plus they do some unusual dishes which my husband likes to try. The service is spot on and environment lovely.

This was a very enjoyable evening. We arrived early (1930), as we had 2 small girls with us, and we were looked after very well. The little girls enjoyed the poppadums to start, shared a Korma for the main meal, and were rewarded with red roses at the end. They were very happy! The adults really enjoyed their food, which tasted freshly prepared, and the service. We will definitely be back . . . soon.

It's our regular Indian Restaurant and we have taken many guests there for dinner including Germans, Australians and fellow Brits. Always a joy, always fantastic food and authentic tastes and always great customer service right down to the hot towels and a red rose for the ladies.Our latest guest, a German who travels extensively, said that it was the best Indian food he had ever tasted.

Called in for an evening meal on Mothers Day to be promptly seated and served.The decor was that of a tired old English pub (as it probably was) and needs some modernisation.The table linen could also have been crisper.The food I found bland and lacked any modicum of spice. The veggie samosas for starter need lashes of lime pickle and chutney to bring out any flavour where the vegetables used were tasteless,. My chicken jalfrezi again had little flavour but some heat on account of the green chillies. To my personal opinion any Indian curry without a good spice content does not qualify as a good meal. Sadly this was my experience at the Jannah

I've never been disappointed at the Jannah since moving to the village with my girlfriend about a year ago. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing! I would highly recommend the lamb dhansak...

My partner and I had a meal here on the bank holiday Monday. As expected it was busy but the service we received was first class. We had starters, main, pudding and two drinks for under £60 which for the standard of the food was excellent value. I would most certainly recommend going for a meal here. The party next to us had a birthday and they had put up balloons and a banner, so perfect for those occasions you want to celebrate. The food arrived in good time, not to slow and not too fast- perfect!Thank you Jannah, we will visit again.

This restaurant is local to us so it is visited on a fairly regular basis. I have to say that the staff are always very welcoming and the service is excellent. The menu is extensive and the chef will always make the dish either milder or hotter for your preference. If you like Indian food I would highly recommend it Steve

This is our local Indian Restaurant. The quality of the food is great and really good value. The staff are amazing and always welcoming. I have been into the kitchen to speak with the Chefs and ask them to make something different / special which they are always welcome to do. Certainly one of the best Indian Restaurants in the area

Within walking distance of my home so very handy - and we've always enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The staff are genuinely welcoming and friendly, striking a good balance without being over attentive. I have been here with my other half, and also with a group of work colleagues - the standard is always good. I once asked for an item not on the menu and was told that if I requested it in advance they would do their best to source it for me. I haven't tested this but believe they probably would! Very nice Indian restaurant - try it!

We had a very good meal here. The staff are genuinely friendly and have a warm relationship with their customers. Indian meals are often a real disappointment in many restaurants but there were two main dishes that really stood out as being excellent - the naga chilli chicken and the special fish dish. Both were genuinely flavourful and different. I have a feeling that the bright red colour was probably artificial - if so, it's not necessary - both dishes stand up perfectly without it. The portion sizes are generous. The vegetable side dishes we had were nothing to get excited about but we'll most definitely be going back soon to sample some more of the main dishes. Women get a red rose to take home, which is always welcome!

I'd heard in the village that the service wasn't very good so I booked an earlier table, but we still had to wait 2 1/2 hours for our main course, which is unexceptable. The food is really good, but expensive. Just not worth the additional cost or the extremely long wait, there are better Indians in the area.

We have recently moved to the area and after a long day of unpacking we decided to get a curry. We were told it was a 45 mins wait on the Saturday for collection. Once we arrived after 45 mins we then waited another 35 mins in restaurant with about 10 other people waiting for takeaway in a crowded restaurant being pushed out of the way by waiters. No apology for delay given or here's some free poppadoms as small token.We though ok it was a busy Saturday night and chalked it up to one of those things.Then we took some friends on Friday night for a sit down meal in there. It took 15 mins to get a drink after I had to stand up and almost beckon the waiter over. We finally had our order taken and then sat for another 25 mins for the starter, which mine was luke warm and dry.After another 30 mins sat with dirty plates our main course arrived which I can't fault and was very nice.After another 20 mins of waiting for the table to be cleared I gave up and called the manager over for our bill so we could just leave. I said I was unhappy with the service, to which his response was "well you wanted fully cooked food don't you".I explained that is an expectation of anyone going to a restaurant and if somebody had just said look were busy or there's only one chef etc I could have expected a wait but two and half hours for a starter and main course is a joke.I am more annoyed at the arrogance of the manager as it seems unless your a local that he knows he is all smiles and big welcomes....if not be prepared to be stuck in the corner and forgotten about.Go to the Gandhi in Sandy, chalk and cheese in terms of service!
