Lovely restaurant great food rapid table service for a very busy restaurant. To be honest the food is exceptional. Reasonable prices.

The chicken biryani I ordered was excessively oily and the curry lacked salt.

All round amazing and lovely place, super friendly staff and really nice food. We’ve gone for the traditional chicken tikka masala and korma many times and both have been delicious. Lovely curry place!

The curries were the best we’ve ever tried! All our orders were flavourful and creamy. All their curries had a distinct flavour unlike other indian places where all their curries taste alike. As other reviews say, there is a waiting time even when you make a reservation so you would need to bear that in mind when going there. The waiters are nice but does take a while to get their attention. Might be because of the number of people around. Anyway, they don’t have a service charge so can’t really complain. We tried Palace special, tikka massala, Tawa Shashlick chicken and Chicken Shashlick. Our fave was the Tawa Shashlick. We dined in but probably would do take out or visit on a less busy day next time.

I don't usually give 5 star reviews but for this I will. I tried the Elish fish and muki and it was one of the best I've ever had and I had to have multiple helpings of this. The spices and the sauce are just great it is a very special dish I encourage you all try it you won't be disappointed. I also had the dhall and the mackerel fish chutney was also nice.

It's difficult to judge a place when going out with a large group of friends but seems a really good place. Had chicken jalfrezi which took the roof off my mouth, so beware, but everything else was extremely good. Would have given 5 stars but for the over spicing!!!

The food is good, but I won't be returning because of the painfully slow service. There seems to be some fundamental problem with how they handle takeaways. First time: phoned, told a time, arrived at that time and had to wait 55 mins while being constantly told 'just a few more minutes'. Second time: ditto, but 'only' a 40-minute wait. If you can't accurately tell me when the food will be ready, don't expect me to waste my time hanging around.

Had to wait 2 hours for food. Servers are definitely deaf so drinks orders came back wrong. Curry was standard and overpriced, nothing to write home about.

Had a very good experience here. We were delayed half an hour to be seated but Shaleem was incredibly kind and gave us free drinks and ensured he took our orders as early as possible due to the delay. A group of four of us ,for a table at 7pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived ten minutes early, and there were so many people packed into a small space waiting. We didn't get seated till 7:10, and people were walking in from the street and getting sat first (wasn't too happy about that). Got seated, had a peruse of the menu, and waited to order. Gentleman took our drinks order and brought us poppadoms. Drinks took about 10 minutes, but hey. We finished our poppadoms, and the gentleman took away the dirty dishes, we then waited a little over an hour (I jokingly said "oh it would be an hour") which wasn't great, we had 2 more drinks in the meantime. The whole time, there were countless bags of takeaway food going past, every time there must have been 3 bags at a time, every 2/3 minutes. We ordered a lamb vindaloo, a chicken vindaloo, a mutton bhuna, 2 lots of pilau rice , spicy rice, and an onion rice. The food was amazing, the two had been used to eating vindaloos, they were sweating buckets, I had the buhna, that was spicier than expected, but I I survived and the tikka.... well, he speaks for itself, really. The place is nice, and the people are happy and helpful, but the communication of when the food would arrive wasn't there. We got told the food would arrive in five minutes, to only arrive 15 minutes later. I paid a touch over £100 for 4 people, which is alot less to what I thought it would have been. I would recommend eating here, its amazing, but DO expect to be there and waiting a while.

I cannot fault the food but the service is the worst I have ever had. We arrived 6.55 pm for our 7pm booking and waited until 7.15 pm to be shown to the table in the back part of restaurant. When I say shown we where lead to the room and the waited waved his arms about and walked off. We had no idea where our table was. He then came back saying and pointing. “There! There!” Very rude. We were taking our coats off and sitting down when he came back “Poppadoms. Poppadoms? Before I even asked the group I was told he would get five. He then returned put the pickles on the table loudly. He took our drinks order. Another lovely polite waiter took our order. We wanted sharing starter for two and we ordered two of these, I said we would be sharing between five. Another waiter came with plates for the starters but only four. I asked for plate as there were five of us and we were sharing. Again told four starters four plates, informed him five were sharing. He rolled his eyes but we did get another plate. We waited 45mins for main meal after the starters. When he brought the dinner plates he leaned over to put the plates on the table and as he couldn’t reach he handed a very hot plate to my daughter who dropped it and burnt her finger(not badly). Asked for water three times on the third time we were told they did not have any glasses all in dishwasher, and so it went on. The waiters, two in particular were rude and very vague. I think the restaurant have such a busy take away service that the diners are ignored. If they can’t cope then maybe they should concentrate on the takeaway. My party were celebrating two members birthdays and it was horrible. We were there for just over two and half hours. We will not be returning and I definitely will not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy I am sorry to say.

My first visit! With friends who were also Curry Palace virgins and another who this was their 4th visit this year. It didn't disappoint! Lovely curry and poppadoms with coverings!

We ordered a takeaway, were advised it would be an hours wait. When we arrived to collect the food after an hour, we had to wait a further 35 mins. The staff were unapologetic. The food was poor, chicken tikka tasted reheated, the madras curry was watery, chana massala dry and tasteless. Overall a very disappointing meal which cost us just over £100.

This is the best curry house I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating in. The service is superb, the food is to die for and its relatively reasonable prices. I couldn’t recommend this place more, all my friends and family love this place. A regular visitor here for the last 5 years!

Good food, terrible time management. I have eaten here a few times and used them for takeaways more. It is always busy, which is a good sign, but despite ordering well in advance for a specific time, they rarely have the meal ready to go. Sometimes waiting up to 30 minutes past the requested time.

Amazing food, have never had a problem every time I've been here. Can't fault it. Usually service would be 5 stars too. And it's only because today's staff weren't as attentive as usual. But I didn't recognise the staff tonight. They didn't do anything wrong though. But as usual, gorgeous food and great atmosphere.

Really good curry, little on the expensive.

We booked in a table for 6:30, upon arrival they asked for our name to confirm reservation and then asked us to sit and wait while the table was being sorted. 5 minutes later, another couple walked in, they told the waiter they had a table booked in for 6:30, they were not asked for a name and was taken straight through. We waited another 15 minutes and was then told they were waiting for someone to finish and pay before they could give us a table. I questioned them as to why someone who walked in after us was given a 2 person table when we had the same times booked. They could not give a reasonable response. They had simply given away our table to someone else and made us wait for 20 minutes. Disappointingly, we had to walk out. Very poor customer service. Extremely unorganised and unprofessional. Unfortunately, that will be our last visit to the restaurant.

Had a takeaway on Saturday night my lamb Balti didn't have any Spice at all and the peppers and onions were crunchy they were not cooked. the Bombay potatoes where absolutely disgusting and the Madras was sweet not spicy was very disappointed

Great quality food, lovely service, always really busy with loads of people coming in for takeaway. Allergens on the menu which makes it easy to avoid wheat, being gluten free. Perfect.

Visited here for the first time recently. It had been recommended and raved about by multiple friends and I now see why. I knew it was going to live up to expectations the moment I walked through the door at 6pm on a Tuesday evening to an already packed restaurant - always a good sign! Best curry house I’ve ever visited due to a combination of excellent food, service, ambiance and value for money. Can’t wait for future meals here!

Great food! They serve a very tasty selection of dishes which should mean there is something to suit every taste. An ideal location for dinner with the special person in your life or with friends. Centrally located in the village, it has its own car park but there is also plenty of on street parking available.

Compare theirs to what we have in the North East, I think the only difference is price if the taste is not worse. When I saw £4.5 for a glass of line and soda, that was an eye opener.

Food is absolutely stunning but they need to sort out their customer service, 5 star food but 2 star customer service. Phoned up to book a table and instead of apologising and saying they were fully booked Whomever was on the other end of the phone was so rude and put the phone down before I could speak anymore.

Always a great meal, either sit-in or take-way. We always get the Prawn Puree for starters! It is fantastic (all the puree or chats are!) Try a House Specialty! We have sampled many and never been dissapointed. Their naan breads are generous and tasty as well.

Had a takeaway last night and it was delicious. I had chicken tikka madras which was perfectly spicy and had a hot & sour flavour, just as I like it and my partner had the chicken tikka main, this was tender and moist and the caramelised onions are delicious. We also had the Tarka Dahl side and it was probably the best dahl we’d ever had. Thank you very much. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

We ordered online and picked up. When we got home things were missing. We phoned up to ask for a refund as we live too far away to pick up the missing items. The man on the phone said no and hung up on us!!! We were gobsmacked at the customer service or lack of!!

First time visiting Curry Palace in Cottenham. Really delicious food with a good menu (lots of options). The staff were attentive even though it was a very busy evening and there seemed to be some larger groups having parties etc. Will definitely be coming back again.

Curry Palace is by far and away the best curry house in the area. Excellent food and top quality service. A group of 11 of us attended, some as frequent customers and some (myself included) for the first time. Everyone was blown away by the quality and all for a reasonable price. An absolute must visit!

Didn't like the main dishes. Tasted prefabricated, where meat was cooked in isolation then poured over with a different sauce.

Very impressed with the quality of food and service , nice proper flavours with generous portions, no service charge added aswell , so leaving a tip is upon you if you have had a good time which I'm pretty sure everyone will, well done curry palace don't change .

We had a reservation for 5 people on Saturday 11th February as our close friend was going away to Australia so thought we would celebrate and I had booked the table for 7.30. Arrived at 7.15 and the front was packed with take away service and also there was 6 people in another party waiting to be seated who had booked for 7pm who were already complaining about waiting. We finally got a table and we waited along time to order a drink. We then asked 2 staff members if we can order but they said they would get back to us but didn’t. Eventually a woman came and said we needed to order as they just had a large group of people come in and if we didn’t order then we will be waiting a long time. We also need ruined that we had tried to before but the waiters hadn’t come back. We finally got our poppadoms an hour later. We then waited nearly another to get our mains!! We asked for a hug of water but were told they do not do jugs and will bring some water later which we received 30 minutes after asking. I could carry on but won’t. What I will say is that we will not be returning, I felt embarrassed as it was me who suggested we went there. Maybe don’t overbook and separate the people waiting for a take away and the people wanting to sit down for a meal. Don’t be greedy by cramming everyone in, give better service and don’t be so rude when a customer asks for something. Really disappointing!!

The quality of the food is truly excellent - I’ve lived in Cottenham and now Waterbeach for the past ten years and, having spent most of my life before that living in one of the so-called curry capitals of the UK, Bradford, can attest that I’ve never tasted Indian and Bangladeshi food this good. The service has also been fantastic - on the one occasion that my order for collection was wrong, the owner of the Curry Palace personally delivered the corrected order. This encapsulates why the restaurant continues to win awards and also attract a loyal customer-base from Cottenham and its surrounding villages. For anyone visiting Cambridge, I thoroughly recommend making the journey just a few miles north to enjoy the first-class Curry Palace - you will not be disappointed!

I visited curry palace with my friends. This place is excellent and I love the food and service we recieved. We came On a Friday and the restaurant was buzzing and full. Despite the whole restaurant being packed our food came slightly late however it was jam packed and full. Fully worth the wait for the food as it had an excellent taste. I recommend you all to visit here when your passing by as it will not fail to satisfy

Booked a table for four at 7pm, eventually got seated. Waited forever for someone to take our order but eventually had to ask for someone to come over. Our food hadn’t arrived by 8:30 despite us asking three separate times why it was taking so long. No apologies from anyone. Were told we would get a discount, but when bill arrived this seemed to have been forgotten. Grudgingly they gave us £10 off! Wow!! Asking to speak to the manager was a joke, the ‘Boss’ was too busy in the kitchen to speak to us and we ended up being spoken to like we were dirt by three aggressive, intimidating staff members. Very unpleasant experience, would not recommend eating here.

Popped in on a Thursday night. The decor is lovely inside and the chairs are nice and comfortable. There are plenty of staff buzzing around which meant we didn't have to wait long for service and the food arrived quickly. The food was well cooked and the portion size was just right. All in all we had an enjoyable evening and would be sure to visit again in the future.

SAM-TASTIC We travelled from saffron Walden as we have heard a lot about curry palace and I can say it did not disappoint! The food was amazing; the restaurant was busy and more importantly the service was one of the best we’ve received. Our waiter Sam greeted us and ensure our needs were fulfilled throughout our dinner. Very well mannered and great to have a laugh with him. Be sure to visit curry palace, it is worth it!

We have a lovely meal. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Service was warm and friendly. Portions were generous. We had starters and mains, were too full for dessert! I would certainly recommend the Curry Palace and looking forward to visiting again soon.

Spoiler Alert!! It’s the worst indian food, service, and attitude that you would face here. Not at all close to what Indian cuisine tastes. There are much better places in Cambridge which have authentic Indian taste and Indian hospitality. Here’s an experience that spoiled it all. An effort I took to drive out of Cambridge city to reach here on a rainy day with prior booking. I reached on time, and was welcomed stating I have to wait. The reason stated is ‘As you can see we are busy and have others waiting’. Well my stern reply got me a table in 5, but it took them 20 minutes to approach me and take the order. Not sure about there fascination of popodams which probably they expect everyone to pick from starters. 3 people came and questioned and took away the serving plates from the table. Well, the order gets placed with all vegetarian menu. A starter, 2 mains, breads and rice. I wondered here if they understood what they mean when they take an order for a starter. After 45 minutes of wait, I had to get up to find them and question about my order. They stated they will check as ‘ I can see they are busy’. Here’s a surprise,.. I’m blamed for not telling them to get starter first as they intended to get everything together… Well, they anyways got it after clarifying everything. But the way it was served, as now I had to ask for side plates. And the sever yelled stating I am rude as he was getting it anyways. Another assumption and blame game they play with their customers. By now, I am 70 minutes inside. Then the main course arrives, a paneer butter masala tasting of tamarind with sweetness to an extent of doing away with a need to have a desert. Not to mention, we left the place paying the bills with tips for them to clean up the left overs which wasn’t a penny worth… Of someone wants to have a good Indian cuisine, this isn’t the place to go to.

Very average curry. Not much flavour. Ordered the Purple tiger dish. Only 2 prawns, and the aubergine was slimy and overcooked. Would not eat here again.

Busy restaurant and takeaway. Some authentic flavours in their menu. For example the very tasty Purple Tiger - a must try if you like prawns. Some OTT flavours too if you like English curry house favourites like Butter Chicken. To south Asians like me, this was like a dessert!
