BEWARE, this restaurant charges a 10 per cent "cover charge" on all food and drink ordered. This is not a service charge and does not go to the staff, it goes to the restaurant owners. They add a further (paltry) 5 per cent for service, which they immediately offer to remove if you question the outrageous cover charge. What a way to cheat both your customers and your staff. Two stars as some of the food was tasty (grill starters) and staff was nice and it's not their fault their owners are dishonest.

We recently dined at Jamavar to celebrate our son's birthday and once again, it met our expectations. This is not our first visit, and the food was outstanding as always. Our favorites— For the mains, we enjoyed Nihari and Paneer Lababdar. The restaurant took great care of our gluten-free needs and provided dosa bread as an alternative, which was much appreciated. The best part was the dessert! The staff surprised us by coming together to sing a birthday song for our son.Such a wonderful gesture! He was very Happy and the service was fabulous, even in a busy situation. Jamavar never fails to impress. A Michelin-star restaurant that truly wins hearts with its food and service.

No pedimos ningún alojamiento especial.

I have never left a poor review before, but I’m so disappointed in this restaurant that I must. Unbelievably rude. 48 hour cancellation policy, or £50 charge per head. I called 35 hours before my reservation to update the time but there was no availability. I attempted to cancel and was told it would be £250. Unbelievable, but it is the policy. I’ve wanted to eat there for a while, so I opted to instead change the date. My issue is how they handled it when I opted to instead find a new time, I was sent emails sternly telling me not to make any more updates or else I would be charged. It has completely turned me off from a meal I was excited for, and I’m struggling to feel excited about giving them more money or time. I’ve never had this experience before, spoken to like a bad child or a criminal from a restaurant I looked forward to joining. I’m considering taking the £250 hit out of principal, because I can’t imagine enjoying the meal now. Gymkhana is a beautiful restaurant nearby, I highly recommend looking there instead where you will be treated well by service staff.

We have been coming here since it opened, it was Brilliant and cheap for The West End. Not anymore. I'm really not sure that it deserves a Michelin Star to be honest Staff are stretched, my fork fell on the floor, it stayed there for the length of our Lunch, it wasn't noticed. They are trying to push the A La Carte / Tasting Menu at £125 per person, they also have a 3 / 4 course menu which is half the price, that will not be presented unless requested. So service is well meaning but slow and not coordinated, we were asked if they could serve first & second courses together as the kitchen was closing ! In fact by the time we ordered dessert, the kitchen had wrapped up. This was a lunch sitting, they really might reconsider their opening times and change the last order times. The dishes especially the Samosa, Stone Bass, Lamb Chops are acceptable but the Main Curry Dishes are below par in my opinion. Great Location but it is a Restaurant that is not getting better with time.

Usually my favourite Indian restaurants and have been a few times. Previously no issues but this visit as there was 3 of us, the tried to seat us downstairs, even though there were tables upstairs. Bit annoying to be put at the bottom of the drafty stairs with only one other table occupied. We requested to be moved and after a couple of attempts they did eventually let us sit upstairs, tainted the visit a little but but food good enough for them to be forgiven, we will return.

Without a doubt, this was the best Indian food we've ever had - it was amazing. The flavors, choices, tastes were all amazing. The restaurant had a really good vibe - some liveliness, but not overly loud, and service was really good. And the atmosphere was really good - it had an air of formality, but yet still fun. But the food was absolutely amazing - can't wait to go back.

Tbh it was a bog standard Indian meal you could expect to find anywhere. It was nice, but not worth the price tag. Would suggest Gymkhana or Trishna if you’re looking for proper Michelin starred Indian food. Also no one offered to take my coat on arrival which I thought was odd. Had to ask myself if there was a cloakroom.

Pleasantly decorated restaurant. Staff took no major interest in us as guests and did not take us through the menu or introduce the food or concept in any way. The dishes on the menu struck me as unsurprising, uninspiring. Frankly, a bit uninteresting. The flavours were pleasant but not in any way new or exciting. Overall, a very mediocre curry for a rather high price. The way my gin and tonic was presented, meanwhile, reminded me of something from a Wetherspoon. I could not believe we were charged £13 for two cups of tea either. Will not be back, I’m afraid…

I am seriously so upset about going to this rubbish restaurant!! We ended up spending over £200 for a vegetarian meal with 1 alcoholic drink.!! All the food seemed to have the same taste, I mean please….. such pretentious food, which anyone with a sophisticated palate will see is just a plain rip off. And we were sitting in downtown’s where it is so dark!! And it’s Michelin?? Michelin need to go back, because the service is also so mediocre. We go to a lot of restaurants around London and are not afraid of paying more if it merits it!! This sadly doesn’t!! DO NOT Bother going to any Of these restaurants LSL capital, including MIMI Mayfair , the same kind of food, over priced. I have leant my lesson this time., I thought I would give it a go. But do not make the same mistake I have, unless you have money to burn. I think the owners really do need to have a look at their menu and service. Totally a waste of money

I primarily come to restaurants for good food. Sadly i have had better meals in a basic bengali restaurant in brick lane compared to here. we ordered the tasting menu and the main course was some sauce with meat and prawn that was bland lacking any character. The sauces in Asda are better. It was all not negative. the service was impeccable. The sommelier knew his craft . The dining room was one of the nicest in London. Next time i will try the a la carte . But there is so much choice now in London so not visiting here anytime soon.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The tables are a little too close together for my liking and the music a little loud if you’re under a speaker. The staff are excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable. The food though is where it goes wrong. We shared a starter of chicken croquettes. They were mushy on the inside and didn’t taste of much really. I ordered the butter chicken curry and my companion the prawn curry. The chicken was hard as if it had been overcooked in advance of being added to the sauce. The prawns were large and very nice. Both sauces tasted exactly the same. The saffron rice was fine. We didn’t have dessert. We had one cocktail and 2 glasses of wine. £193 including 15% service charge. It says discretionary but I have yet to argue that one.

I tried the thali (fixed menu with an assortment of dishes) a while ago, which was great and I thought I should give this place another try. This time around I picked a few items from the a la carte menu. The tandoori chicken and paneer were good. However the dhal disappointed. No one adds chilli powder to a dish after it has cooked. It's just not a very pleasant flavour. The butter chicken and bone marrow naan were ok but left aside for a minute and they turned soggy. Please serve the sauce separately in a tiny sauce bowl. This would make it a better experience. Just as you are looking at margins I am looking at an elevated experience for the money I pay.

Below average and pricy experience. The starters were nice, especially the trio of dosas, very tasty! The mains were poor. My kerala fish curry was a watery soup with very little flavour. Plenty chunks of nice fish to be fair. By contrast the yellow dal was thick with ghee and not much spice. The dessert Gulab Jamun Tirimasu was hilariously bad. A small stodgy piece in a cocktail glass, topped with plain cream and chocolate shavings. 14 quid.
