I was visiting my son over the weekend and found this place and thought I’d give it a go and glad I did . I ordered 5 fresh homemade and lovely and hot pancakes and maple syrup and bacon along with a large mocha. Yummy and loved the mocha too. Great service also and I will definitely be back on my next trip up here

A local person recommended this to us. Poor from the start. Very miserable assistant at the till who couldn’t manage the transaction. She had to be helped out by someone else. Coffee sizes on the board were not all available. Coffee arrived quickly which was good. Americano was good, but the cappuccino was tasteless. Both toilets were out of action.

Tried out this outlet for the first (and last time). Filthy tables - in a virtually empty restaurant @ 1.30pm!! Food was overcooked and overpriced rubbish - poached eggs on Eggs Benedict shouldn't be hard boiled, surely?). Staff were indifferent to customers - you pay for your meals upfront - I wonder why....? Avoid.

What has happened to this place, haven’t visited for some time and can only assume it is under new management, I had a dreadful cappuccino and a poor bacon and Brie roll. Was surprised that this was still under the Jamaica Blue name.

Stopped in here with my two little girls and it's really lovely. I had a wonderfully made and very tasty cappuccino and a sausage and egg bagel with coffee infused jam which was very nice. My girls both had milkshakes and croissants which were served warm with butter and jam and both looked delicious. The staff were really kind, friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was calm and chilled. On top of this, the prices were fantastic! I got all that food and drink, served quickly to my table, for under £20. Much cheaper than the nearby Costa and Starbucks. I can highly recommend this cafe if you're out and about in Gloucester.

I ordered the vegan brunch and a pot of tea for around £13. I was the only (probably first of the day) customer. The sausage and mushroom were so overcooked and dry, I couldn't even cut up the mushroom. The spinach was wet and flavourless. I don't know how they managed to serve such old tasting food 20 minutes into their day and when mine was the only order they had to focus on, but I will not be going back again.

I was a loyal customer of this coffee shop for the past year. It was always busy and never minded if my drink would be a little late. However, it occurs to me that the coffee place recently changed management as the current management/ employees have twice in the space of a month tried to boot me out. The ‘lady’ who seems to be the manager took my cup the first time while left another couple have their drinks despite that they were closing the place. And today another employee came by my table to shuffle stuff in order to show me I should leave. The second time he came around he politely touched the rim of my cup and asked me if I wanted my coffee to be taken away. Needless to say I did t have another sip scorer someone put their fingers on my cup. Also hygiene hazard! I said no and stayed for 5-10 more minutes to finish off my work but left immediately after. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Tables have recently been always dirty and not maintained well but despite not bringing it as a point and being understanding, I’ve been made to go home. Close relatives of mine own a few restaurants and I’ve never witnessed such behaviour and bad manners. This place won’t last long if the staff makes sure people don’t want to put their foot inside their coffee shop. I would definitely NOT be coming back and spending my money at a place we’re the customer is only allowed to pay and not enjoy the atmosphere. Do not recommend! Stay away!

Gloucester’s branch of Jamaica Blue is on Eastgate, on the outer edge of the Kings Walk shopping centre and opposite the larger Eastgate Centre. The decor is very similar to other cafes such as Coffee no. 1, i.e. generic lounge / diner and reasonably comfortable. The menu includes breakfasts, salads, brunches and cakes. Opening times are 8.30 am – 6pm which is a win – it goes on the list of ‘cafes that don’t close at teatime.’ 9 am – 5pm on Sunday. I had: Flat White and a Pecan twist, total £6.60. The coffee was pretty tasty – just the right strength, a nice bit of latte, er, flat white art on top and the right size and temperature (certain cafe chains will give you a soup bowl full of alleged coffee. You Know Who You Are.). The pecan twist arrived warmed up ("Hot" I was told) and with cream on it. What do you want, cream on it? Here you are. The atmosphere was fairly relaxed and the staff were nice (always a plus). Would I return? I probably will.

I took my two children (3 years and 8 months) for lunch after a very stressful morning. The staff were AMAZING, talking to and playing with my little ones. The food was served quickly and was delicious (we had an American diner breakfast with pancakes and a fruit muffin - yum!). Unfortunately we caused quite a lot of chaos (the usual noise, food on the floor etc) and then knocking coffee all over the table, floor, me and the baby! By this point I was regretting leaving the house and wishing the ground would swallow me up. One lady who worked there in particular was so kind, she checked we were ok, wouldn’t let me clean up the mess (I did try!) and even got me another coffee free of charge! She really restored my faith in people and their kindness- I didn’t catch her name but I’m sure she will remember us! Thank you so so much!

Lovey cafe with friendly staff. The best smashed avocado on toast with salmon, so tasty! Tomatoes on the side were nicely cooked and sweet. Was busy but didn’t have to wait long for drinks and food. Nice and clean with staff making sure tables were clean for the next customers.

We went in for coffee. The coffee took a long time to arrive and was lukewarm. The food to much longer. I didn't know it was possible to ruin an almond croissant but they managed it. It was microwaved far too long and lost any crispness and texture it might once have had. It was served with a little pot containing jam and a slab of butter. I have never heard of putting butter and jam on an almond croissant before. All in all the drinks, food and service were dreadful. The only advantage was that there was plenty of space. Perhaps the two were connected.

Really not good food. Cauliflower cheese was swimming in water and was just horrible. Wings flavour tasted ok but were absolutely tiny and meat was all grey and not good. Spent only £7 thankfully because I had a voucher whereas would have been £17 otherwise.
