The lady up front is RUDE. Eat elsewhere they don’t deserve to be in this shopping center with their attitudes. Don’t order online they won’t cook it until you arrive. And you have to pay for condiments for you RICE

So I returned a Quart of fried rice because it had a red stain on the box. They cooked it again and it had a hair in it, wasted my money!

Have used this takeaway for many years. I think it's the best Chinese around. Never had fault with any of the food purchased. If you have a problem Tina will always correct any issues.

I ordered the Pu Pu platter and it was pu pu... Especially for $15 when it say 12.95 on menu. I like the Chinese food here. But just disappointed

Disappointed... chicken chow mein I could have made at home with loads of noodles and the scrapings from a chicken carcass... barely a beansprout and blander than bland! I could have got more chicken from a chicken carcass myself, added a load of noodles and saved a shed load of money! You may find me still looking for the chicken somewhere.... very disappointed, used to be the best around. Won't be dashing back, no matter how hungry I am...

Been coming to this place since I was a kid. I don’t not like the new owners. The little old lady at the cash register is not customer friendly. She seems very mean and may need to retire. I asked for extra duck sauce she yelled NO. Then I asked how much for extra.. she responded in a very nasty way… it would be a $1 more for a couple packs. I dont experience this at any other Chinese restaurant. I will be posting this to my social media as well. Will not be returning. Food sucks now anyway.! Goodbye!

Usually we have nothing but good things to say about the food here but the last time we ordered we were very disappointed, we ordered the special chow mein which usually if filled with meat and veggies yet this was just noodles and sauce, the crispy pancake rolls that are made to order, we ordered the meat and veg ones and they were soggy and filled with just cabbage... will use sky in burnham from now on

I ordered a seafood delight an went home opened it up veggies I feel that if you ordered something you should get it so dissatisfied with them money

Consistently good food and kind service

I have been coming here since I was a kid and have not found another Chinese spot that tastes as good as this. I don't live in the area anymore but I always get Jade Garden when I am here. The food is always so hot and fresh. The flavors have remained consistent throughout the years. I am not sure why the ratings are low because it is hands down the best Chinese food I have ever had. The fried chicken wings with pork fried rice and sesame chicken are my favorite. Hot oil on the side is a must. I wouldn't be so quick to judge a book by its cover with this one.

One of the last few places in town where you can get a filling meal for under $10 that isn't fast food. The staff are friendly and accommodating. These negative reviews need to keep the price in mind when they complain.

Poor reheated dry food. Has gone downhill a lot of the years - possibly due to lack of competition but food was poor, dry and tasteless

They're great at what they do👍 If you're looking for really good Chinese takeout (Americanized), this place is a perfect choice. I stay at a nearby hotel once a week for business and usually order from this place. I haven't been disappointed yet. I've ordered from Jade about a dozen times. It's a good bet of you're looking for takeout Chinese with a good variety of food on the menu👌

A favorite place to order ahead and pick up lunch. The food has been good for the past twelve years we have been ordering from them.

Staff were very pleasant and food very affordable. Restaurant was clean apart from a few leaves blowing in. I ordered wings and plain fried rice and a veggie egg roll. I did enjoy the egg roll. Rice was very dry and chicken had no flavor. I would not eat there again.

Pre cooked whole chicken, then shredded off for a chicken chow mein. Full of fish sauce. Not very nice. Vegetable spring rolls half cooked. Won't be back again!!

The soup was not what I was expecting. I had the soup in other places . And today I was only able to have to spoon 🥄 of it ! I couldn’t finish it I couldn’t eat it.

Had a serious diarrhea after eating dinner take-out from this restaurant. I had sweet and sour pork and beef lo mein. The sweet and sour pork tasted somewhat funny, so I suspect the pork has gone bad. Even if the food did not cause diarrhea, the quality was still awful. The sweet and sour pork came with the smallest portion of rice I have ever seen at a Chinese restaurant, barely larger than a can of coffee. The pork tasted funny, and the sauce was just outrageous so I had to replace it with my own sauce. The lo mein was also soggy and squishy. Overall, just avoid this place.

This was an Wedding Anniversary Take Away as we are on Holiday. Absolutely shocking food tasteless most of it went in the bin. The Chicken Omelette was grey, House special chow mein absolutely vile a waste of nearly £85 Had food from here last year and it was top notch not anymore.

This is the only place I order Chinese from just wish they Offer a discount to those that eat there often.

Just been to this takeaway,first time and I'm afraid to say the last,worst food I have tasted in a long time,beef mushroom all undercooked and sorry to say very iffy,chicken chow main again terrible,the egg fried rice like dry sawdust.never left a review before but this needed it,money thrown out of window,just to add this is my personal review.

This place is our go-to Chinese takeout joint. Call ahead, and the food is consistently ready hot and fresh within 10 or 15 minutes, no matter how busy they are. The folks who work here are super efficient, and quite friendly once you get to know them. It can be a bit jarring ordering over the phone for the first time, since they don't follow some of the unofficial American protocol for placing orders over the phone. However, once we got used to it, we've come to enjoy how little time it takes to place an order with them. They say hello, you tell them what you want, and they say "OK, thank you" and hang up. They don't give you an order number or take down your name/phone number-- you just tell them what you ordered when you get there and they ring you up. They don't tell you when it will be ready-- the food is always ready within 10-15 minutes, no matter how busy they are. If you're looking for good, fast, and reasonably priced americanized Chinese food, this is your spot.

Food is OK, nothing exciting just another Asian restaurant. No atmosphere it's take out. They are pretty fast preparing food but patient when ordering there is slight language barrier.

Food is really good. I live 30 minutes away and will only eat Chinese from here. Service doesn't come with a smile however the food is great.

Myself and my wife shellie brown always enjoy the great taste of China here at Jade Garden. Very friendly very good prices and utterly yummy goodness. The best in somerset I'd say. Highly recommended 10 stars+ in my opinion lol.

It’s close to the extended stay place I frequent so tried it out. Been getting delivery from a restaurant further away but there have been problems with price and delivery. Jade Garden offers only take-out. The operation is fully exposed when you walk in. Very strip-mall. And yes, as others have mentioned, the staff you talk with are surly. But the food is very good Chinese American. I did my usual opening gambit: Pu-Pu platter for 2, hot & sour soup, moo goo gai pan and house special egg foo young. The appetizers came with a s&s sauce tub, soup with crunchy noodles and the entrees with rice. Generous other packets upon request. 40 bucks total. Thankfully the quality is excellent, esp the white sauce. Quantity is more than usual, as they advertise. Good packaging too. Their containers can be reused by a guy on the go. For such an unimpressive first look it’s pretty darn high level. The prices seem pre-pandemic. They prefer you order directly from them since BeyondMenu hits them for 5%. I’ll be trying their specialties next time.

Use to be the go to for take out.havent had it for a while went yesterday to get some dinner got home and the chicken smelled a little off but tried it and now I'm over with food poisoning and all wont be going back again

Jade Garden is one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. I love the chicken wings and fried rice. My husbands favorite is the sesame chicken or general Taos chicken. My kiddos can’t get e out of the lo mein. It’s definitely worth a try.

The staff is rude and have negative energy. I felt very unwelcomed and treated with less than decent respect. The food is actually good most of the time, UNLESS the rude staff are halfway listening to you while speaking and make an order and put food you're allergic to in your order -like they did with me. I ordered plain fried rice and the rude woman who typically completes orders wasn't being attentive to me and gave me an order of shrimp fried rice. When I called the business and explained how I am allergic to shrimp she was very unpleasant. Since then, it seems as if she is consistently and absolutely rude. I have decided to avoid this establishment.

I wanted to like this, I really did. After not eating here a decade, it will be another 10 years before I might try again. The fried rice like everyone mentions is bland. The fried veggie dumplings were super salty and just had a weird taste that no other veggie dumpling in cville has, and was overall just not good. The worst part of the experience was they are still using styrofoam and they staple the trays shut for transportation. I cut myself while trying to open, though it was very tiny, I shouldn't have to bleed for my lunch. What also worries me about the staples is if pieces fall into the food without knowing. They are updating the restaurant but need to be updating the cheap menu. Too bad I won't get a response on this review.

General Taos was ok, but yellow shrimp fried rice was suspect as was sweet and sour pok. If you are famished I guess it's an option but threw much of this order away. Got two ok egg rolls for paying cash. Place is dirty and like a convid combat zone in appaerance.

Easy to sum up... Decent American Chinese fast food. I ordered a lunch special sesame chicken from a not so upfrontly nice or engaging staff member (see other reviews about rudeness) and added a drink and an egg roll. I think I paid 2 bucks to add the egg roll and drink. I was given a wait time of 10 mins so I left and came back. When I came back to pickup my order was ready. Jade has COVID-19 precautions in place as far as a plastic wall that blocks customers from staff. The wall goes from the floor to the ceiling. There is a notched slot to pass cash and cards and a small hatch to retrieve your food. I did not notice any staff wearing masks so the wall might only be to protect the staff from the customer. The staff member forgot my drink but had already pulled it out to hand over to me. When I mentioned it she cracked a smile and we had a laugh. Other reviews speak on Jade's customer service lacking but overall I was fine with it. The humor about the drink made things better. I carried my order back to work but on the way I couldn't help but smell the egg roll. I was starving and snatched it up...fried to perfection and very tasty. So tasty that I didn't get a picture of the golden browniss, sorry fam. As for the main entree the chicken was fried well, having crispness and a sauce that wasn't too sweet. The rice was bland and not what I was hoping for as a friend rice but in totality I could return and try something else... Definitely craving another egg roll right now SMH.

Food is ok. Basic americanized chinese food. They are pretty quick and consistent so what else do you really want from a Chinese restaurant?

Visiting the area and looked for a nice Chinese supper. We had sweet and sour chicken (in batter) which was really tasty.... Beef chow me in and egg fried rice.... Was really nice and a very generous portion. The service was top drawer, friendly efficient and covid safety. Really enjoyed our takeaway.

Decided to give this place another try after one year of avoiding it...JUST NO...Firstly, the customer service was nonexistent. They took my order quickly over the phone and didn’t provide me with the price or the wait time. Secondly, I found little nats in my rice. Thirdly, they are way overpriced for the low quality.

Having recently moved to the area, Jade Garden was recommended. I have never been so disappointed. The lady behind the counter was lovely and welcoming but the food was awful. Pancake roll was so greasy I couldn't pick it up. I had to swathe it in kitchen roll three times. Chicken with green peppers and black bean sauce...hardly any chicken and no sauce to speak of. Plenty of peppers but they were soggy. S&S chicken balls, very large but greasy batter. Sauce was tasteless. Egg fried rice was also greasy, we took the top off the container and the rice was shiny with grease. The chips were the only thing not dripping in grease! Won't be going back.

Recently been on holiday in this area this takeaway is fantastic. Good food friendly staff. I would stay in this area again just so I could go back.

Some of the nastiest "Chinese" food I've had. Over boiled vegetables and stale rice covered with store bought sauce. I wouldn't give my dog the egg rolls. Dry, tasteless, aweful.

We have enjoyed Jade Garden for years!! It the one place I really missed during Covid — ordered the second I heard they were back open!!!

Way over priced. Staff very rude. Told me ten minutes and it was more like 35 minutes. I ordered and didn't understand why it was so much but no response or reasoning why. I added it up and added 15% tax and still was less then they charged me. Will never return even if it was the last Chinese spot left.

If I could give no stars, that would be too much. I’m amazed at the rudeness I encountered while attempting to place a carry out order. I guess these people aren’t concerned about the current state of affairs and going under. Maybe something better will go in when they do. I should’ve trusted all the bad info I’d received about this place. I’m so glad it didn’t go past the phone conversation. No money wasted.

Very welcoming and friendly lady. Order taken and we sat waiting in clean comfortable surroundings. Food was huge portions, hot and tasty. Ribs in sweet and sour sauce are to die for. Only downside was the huge portion of chow mein in the container didnt allow for juices. It was so tasty tho.Will def return and recommend to all our friends

I will never visit this place again. The staff is rude and disengaged. When served drinks the server sat all 3 glasses on the edge of the table as if she was scared to get too close. We had to ask for menus after 5 minutes of watching staff eat and chat. We just got up and left at this point. NEVER AGAIN👎

This used to be a very good Chinese takeaway but sadly we will not be using it anymore. The last few we had just didn't taste as good. Tonight's takeaway will be our last. The spring rolls were so oily and greasy, they were grim. The special fried rice was tasteless with barely any meat. The chicken balls and king prawn balls were awful, we couldn't finish them because we could only taste cooking oil eventually. My partner even began to feel unwell.We will be using Hong Kong Chinese up the road, it's much nicer!

This has always been a continually 5* Chinese take away. One of our favourites in Somerset. the menu is extensive but if you want something a little different you just ask. Well Done Jade Garden. We'll see you again soon.

No delivery, no gimmicks. Quite simply the best Chinese takeaway for miles around. I drive past a number of others. Certainly worth the extra mile.

Had a meal for 2 and we both enjoyed every dish. Only 3-5 minutes from Haven where the food was poor. Would definitely recommend a takeaway if you are in the area.

Visited on Friday the 9th. Lady serving was lovely and friendly with a big smile on her face. We waited in the shop for our food which was prepared quickly, all tasted lovely even the grandchildren enjoyed it!

Have been taking food out for many years. Their General Tso chicken is delicious

We order 2 egg fried rice (dry as anything), a chow main (ok) and a duck in plum sauce (sauce sooo sweet it was horrible and duck dry covered in batter which was hard on the top and sticky on the bottom) and a banana fritta (no sauce with it- literally ate the banana without the batter it was that bad). Was so disappointed considering the good reviews and ate here a few years ago. Prawn crackers were the cheap cheap version- could get better from the Asda down the road from them... I’ll buy a microwave Chinese in future instead of this one.

Always busy so phone order in advance. Closed on Mondays. Very generous portions. So caefull what you order, you don't want to waste anything.

Very friendly when ordering. chilli shredded beef and chow mien was lovely - we had a few other dishes which weren’t as tasty as compared to other places we have been to. The Prawn crackers were a bit stale which was a shame .

Discusting! 70$ On take out and everything tasted the same. Flavorless. Sesame chicken even had no flavor.

Pleasant chinese food. Nice and fast service. Authentic chinese menu. We stopped in on our way back from williamsburg. Its next to interstate and easily spotted. Good if your looking for a difference in pallette and tired of the boring usuals.
